++ [ Entry 29 - self roleplay ] ++

Arian could hear the birds chirping outside his window. The unicorn boy was currently perched on a stool, the book Kaze had given him - the pretty one with a star on the front - half open.

Usually Arian used the book to draw and several pages were already filled with pictures of things - like the picture he'd drawn while in the shop that day with Mummy - the day he'd met Miss Eri and Miss Prisma... The picture was one of the ones he'd had to stick in afterwards as the unicorn boy had torn some of the pages out of the book so that he could give Miss Prisma some of the paper.

He'd really liked her picture - it was pretty and rainbow-coloured - not like his boring tree. Prisma had seemed to like his tree though.

It had been that day that he'd found out that Miss Eri was an actual tree and did tree things like drink water and eat sunlight - something that the unicorn boy still wanted to try..

That is Arian wanted to try eating sunlight - he already knew what water tasted like and although it was ok - banana milkshake tasted better!

He frowned, they'd only just gotten back to the flat and Mummy had said they had enough time to go to the park, but that they should eat lunch here first.

He'd wanted to help, but she had said no and that he should maybe water his tree. Arian hadn't really wanted to - he'd wanted to help more - especially since whatever Mummy was cooking smelt sooo good. Mummy said he'd probably end up eating half of it before it even finished cooking though which is why she'd said he couldn't help this time.

Sighing Arian found himself listening to the birds again - their singing was.. Pretty - really pretty.

Birds were cool too because they had feathers - lots and lots of them and they could fly - which was something he couldn't, although he wished he could since it looked like a cool thing to do...

Besides Arian wanted to know what flying felt like, how it would feel to have feathers of his own and how it would feel like to feel the wind blowing through his feathers.

The birds were lucky. They could do this whenever they wanted.

++ [ Entry 30 - Private RP - Enikil, Aikori, Kaze and Arian ] ++

kaze1981
"Is it time yet?" Arian asked excitedly as he watched Kaze bustle around, the half sprite expertly transferring the batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies onto a plate, while checking the oven where a set of brownies were still baking.

"Not yet" Kaze said patiently for what must have been the tenth time that morning as she placed the cookies on the table. Frowning the half sprite checked the oven and then put some tea on to brew and took some banana milkshake out of the fridge. "I'm sure it'll be soon though."

Arian grinned, "Great - I want to show them my tree" the unicorn boy said matter-of-factly as he took an empty bottle from just inside the door of his room and proceeded to fill it up with water from the bathroom. "I hope they come soon."

Enikil
"Einkil... I think we're going the wrong way...." Aikori said softly, trying to take the directions from Enikil but he held them out of reach. The newly manifested lanturn pouted cutely, turring at the sleeves of his black and red shirt. He was glad they had left early to get to Kaze's house, Enikil almost always got lost. He had the worst sense of direction he'd ever seen.

"We are not, I know where we're going" The were-bunny flicked his tongue out at the smaller boy, shaking his head a bit. Looking at the slip of paper, he then looked up at the street sign they were currently standing beside. Enikil didn't want to admit that they were a tad lost, He'd never hear the end of it from Cloud or Aikori. Cloud had offered to drive them over, but he had declined, saying it would b e easy enough to find by bus.

Chewing his lip softly, he jumped up and snagged the slip of paper from the older male and looked at it. Looking up from the sheet, he looked across the street and saw the correct numbers. "There it is! " He pointed across the street, looking up at Enikil.

"Ah so it is, I told you I knew where I was going!" Enikil laughed and headed across the street, ignoring Aikori for the moment, who was shaking his head at him. It took them no time to find the correct floor and door; they knocked as soon as they got there.

kaze1981
Kaze was arranging some of the chocolate brownies onto the plate with the cookies when the knock on the door came "Arian could you..?" She started.

"They're here! They're here!" Came the excited call from Arian, the unicorn boy half falling off the chair he'd gotten to reach his tree which had floated up towards the ceiling. Water half-sloshed over the side of the bottle as Arian dumped it down and half ran to the door.

Finding the key took a little bit of time, but finally Arian had the door open "Hi, thank you for.." His voice tailed off as he caught sight of Aikori, blinking a bit in surprise as he caught sight of the green boy. "Aikori..?"

Enikil
Enikil stood back and watched Aikor stand in front of the door excitedly, he was totally estatic. He'd seemed a lot happier lately, which was nice since it meant less arguements and dirty looks towards Cloud on Aikori's part.

The green haired male giggled at Arian's reaction to his new look and body. "HI Arian!" He giggled again, a hand over his mouth as he waved with the other. Not alot of people had seen him in his new form, but he was happy to others when he could.

kaze1981
"You look really good" Arian told Aikori, the unicorn boy still looking a little startled that the green boy was now as tall as him. "Want to see my tree, Mummy's baked cookies and.."

"Don't you think you should say hello to Enikil first?" Kaze's voice from behind Arian was a little amused, the half sprite holding a tea pot slightly absently as she looked at Aikori and Enikil. "Hi Enikil, hi Aikori, I'm glad the two of you could come. Why don't you both come in?" She smiled at Aikori "You've really grown since I saw you last."

Arian flushed slightly. "Um hi" he said to Enikil slightly embarassed. "I didn't mean to ignore you." He perked up at the sight of Enikil's ears, a slight grin appearing on his face. "Your ears are cool!" He told Enikil. "Are they really bunny ears?"

Enikil
"Thanks Arian!" Aikori beamed, brushing some of the green locks of hair out of his bright green eyes. He was glad to see someone was just as surprised as Enikil had been. He was going to say something when he heard Kaze's voice, looking up to her with a smile. " Hi Kaze! Thank you for noticing!" He beamed, hopping into the house after Arian, Enikil following.

He laughed softly and patted the unicorn boy's head lightly. " Don't worry about it I don't mind" Enikil replied as he walke dinto the flat, slippign his shoes off, watching as Aikori did the same. A white ear perked up at their mentioning and smiled softly. " Oh these? Heh thanks" He smiled and itched one of the ears. "yes their real bunny ears, I have a real tail as well" He turned and wagged his were tail a bit. " I'm a tri -breed, part human, werewolf and bunny"

kaze1981
Doing things by hand is a lot slower than using magic to levitate things. Kaze mused to herself. In the old days she'd have finished setting the table already, it not uncommon for the half sprite to levitate more than one thing at once and direct items to their rightful place.

That was then...

The tea pot was placed on the table, joining the cookies, brownies and a pitcher of water Kaze had added.

Fetching the pitcher of milkshake Kaze found herself listening into Arian and Enikil's conversation as she responded to Aikori's comment. "It was hard not to notice, especially the new outfit" she teased slightly, then smiled "But it suits you."

"That's really cool" Arian said. "I have a tail too" he peered at Enikils tail in interest. "But mine's longer than yours." Shifting his gaze back to the rabbit ears he asked "But doesn't it get confusing being a w.were wolf and bunny?" Curiousity flickered in emerald green eyes "I thought wolves hated rabbits."

Enikil
Aikori smiled brightly, glad to have someone besides Enikil notice his new outfit. "Isn't it neat?" He excaimed, tugging playfully on the suspenders as he followed Kaze. Her whole h ouse smelt nice, just as he had suspected, smelt like mountain air and cookies. Don't ask him how he knew what mountain air smelt like though. "Do you need any help carring things Kaze?"

Enikil chuckled softly at Arians question, slipping his hands into his pant pockets. "Well... yeah a bit.. but I wasn't always a werewolf and bunny. I used to be just a bunny" He replied softly, slipping off his shoes as not to get anything on the floor.

kaze1981
Kaze gave Enikil a curious look at his comment to Arian - she hadn't known that her friend had once been just part bunny - for some reason the half sprite had thought that Enikil had always been both part werewolf and part bunny.

There's a story in there somewhere. Though trust Arian to find out that little bit of information within minutes of meeting Enikil. Her thoughts were tinged with amusement and fond exasperation at Arian's constant questions.

Kaze blinked as Aikori's comment and question registerred, the half sprite nodding. "I think your outfit's pretty neat" she grinned. "And help would be great Aikori, there's two large plates of sandwiches in the fridge if you wouldn't mind helping me with them." She smiled ruefully. "I wasn't sure what sort you and Enikil liked so I did a mixture on one plate and Arian doesn't eat meat so I did a vegetarian set for the other."

Arian's eyes widened slightly at Enikil's comment "You were a bunny first?" His emerald eyes sparkled in interest. "So how did you become a werewolf too? And was it scary?" The questions tumbled out one after the after, though from the look in Arian's eyes it was obvious that the unicorn boy really wanted to know... And Kaze hadn't told him that he couldn't ask Enikil and Enikil seemed to be ok with answering them, though..

Arian hesitated "It is ok me asking isn't it?" He asked Enikil hesitantly. "I've never met a werewolf bunny before."

Enikil
Aikori smiled a bit, nodding his head and walking over to the fridge. He liked helping Kaze, she was very niec so it was fun. A green hand grasped the door handle and tugged it open. The little lanturn grabbed the plate and closed the fridge door with his foot for the time being. He set the first plate down then moved over to grab the second plate.

"Arian's a vegetarian? Wow I didn't know that" Aikori said softly, closing the door again. "Enikil and I eat anything we can get our hands on" He giggled softly, pushing back the hair covering his one eye.

Enikil looked at Arian and gave him a half smile, he had to give him credit for asking since not many did ask. It wasn't often he said anything about it since he was a bit secrative about that.

"I don't think you'd believe me if I told you" He sighed softly, putting a hand on top of h is head and ruffled his hair a bit. "Plus its not a very niec story... not one a child should be hearing about" A green set of eyes glimmered a bit sadly.

kaze1981
Kaze smiled as she grabbed a small salad and stuck it where Arian would be sitting "Yes he is, he said once that he thinks that it's because he's part unicorn and unicorns are like horses in that they eat grass and plant-type things - apparently he read it somewhere." Her smile turned rueful "Either way he won't touch anything with meat in it." She grinned "So now you know a random fact about him."

She looked over at Arian "You can ask more questions later if Enikil doesn't mind, the sandwiches are on the table thanks to Aikori and everything else is ready."

Arian blinked, the unicorn boy having been about to let Enikil know that yes he would believe him - he really would. "Food's ready?" He stared at the set table and then looked at Aikori "Want to sit next to me, then maybe I can show you my tree after - though we'll have to shut the door and close my curtains to see it really well - it glows and floats and it's pretty." He looked at Enikil "You can come see too if you want." He offered.

Kaze gave Arian a rueful smile "Actually I kind of want to talk to Enikil about some things" she told Arian. "Boring things." The half sprite stressed the word 'boring' and hid a smile as Arian rolled his eyes slightly. "That is if you don't mind Enikil." Something in her voice suggested she didn't want either Aikori or Arian knowing.

((Added 27 March 2006))
Enikil
"Enikil said he used to be just a Vegetarian, but now he has to eat meat and stuff now," Aikori said softly, looking up at Kaze with a happy smile on his face. Green eyes looked over at Enikil and Arian, who were still talking together. He was really glad the werebunny was in good health today, he'd been sick a few days before.

"Okay!" Aikori grinned, sitting himself down beside him, "Ah, I'd love to see you're tree! Things that glow are soooo cool! "

Enikil looked over at the table where Kaze and Aikori were and smiled lightly, he rubbed the back of his neck and walked closer. He blinked his green eyes at what the half sprite said and nodded. "Maybe later I'll look at your tree Arian, your mom and I have boring adult stuff to talk about" He said softly, patting his head lightly. " I don't mind, " He said, seeing it was going to be something very serious.

kaze1981
Arian's tail swished excitedly as Aikori sat next to him, the unicorn boy half wanting lunch to be over so that he could show Aikori his tree already and was half tempted to just bolt down his salad and grab a few cookies before dragging off Aikori so they could look at the tree. Although then that wouldn't be fair on Aikori since he might actually want to eat at the table.

He still managed to make his way through about half his salad in record time before Kaze noticed.

Kaze had given Enikil a relieved smile, that had turned quickly rueful at his response "I'm truely sorry to bother you with it, but it will explain why I was away for so long after things." She didn't elaborate, deciding that she'd tell him once Arian and Aikori were in Arian's room, looking at the unicorn boy in question she noticed that he'd managed to down half his salad and his tail was swishing in a way that suggested he could barely contain his excitement "Yes the two of you can go eat in your room if you promise not to make a mess" she said answering Arian's unasked question. "But only if Enikil and Aikori are ok with that and only then if you get the spare blanket from your wardrobe."

Arian blinked at Kaze wondering how it was Mummy always managed to work out what he was going to say before he said anything.. Well most times she did anyway. Maybe it was a Mummy thing. He half asked her about it then and there, but then changed his mind - he could always ask later.

Instead he looked at Aikori "Want to eat in my room on the spare blanket? My tree's bright enough to act like a light and it could be like a picnic or something." He hoped Aikori wanted too - then his fellow lanturn spirit could see his tree faster.

Enikil
"Oh, Enikil please can I eat in Arians room?" Aikori asked, turning his green eyes towards him. He gave him his never failing kicked puppy look, it almost never failed. "I promise I wont get anything on my pants or shirt or on the blanket! I swear!"

Enikil wa sin mid bite of a sandwich when the other pleaded with him. Keeping the tip of th e sandwich in his mouth, he arched an eyebrow at him. Taking a bite, he quickly munched it back before speaking. "Alright, but you have to help Arian clean up and set everything up okay?" He said softly, chuckling when the little lanturn cheered.

"Yay!, lets go Arian!" He looked brightly at him, eager to go.

kaze1981
"All right!" Arian said with a grin as Enikil gave permission, the unicorn boy half bouncing out of his seat before excitedly turning to grab the chair he'd been sitting on. "The blanket's on the top shelf of my wardrobe" he told Aikori as he half-dragged and half awkwardly carried the chair over to the door leading to his room.

Kaze watched Arian drag the chair with a sigh, a rueful smile on her face. "Careful with that chair Arian, slow down!" She wasn't sure if Arian was listening considering that Arian was talking to Aikori about his tree. "He's energetic" she told Enikil. "And very, very curious. You know he somehow got his hands on a screw driver last week and dismantled two of the clocks."

The half sprite figured it'd be best for the pair to be safely in Arian's room before she told Enikil about what had been going on, although...

A thought occured to her.

"Enikil do you know anything about setting wards" she asked her friend quietly so her voice didn't drift far past the table.

Enikil
"Thanks Enikil!" Aikori beamed, hopping off his chair to help Arian with the big chair. He picke dup the other end and helped him drag it over to the wardrobe. He was all smiles, having a great deal of fun with the other. He couldn't wait to see the glowing tree!

Enikil chuckled softly, watching the two boys hurry off to have fun. It was nice to see the little green haired boy so happy and having fun with someone his own age. "He seems to have an inventive mind....he's a really good kid" The werebunny smiled softly then turned to Kaze.

"Setting wards?" He questioned, arching a red eyebrow at her. He had no idea what that even was, nor anything about setting one up.

kaze1981
Arian gave Aikori a smile as the other lanturn helped him with the chair and managed to open his room door, soft silvery light spilling out as soon as the heavy door was pushed inwards.

The glow was more readily apparent as Arian with Aikori's help managed to get the chair over to the wardrobe - its source a medium-sized bluish globe from which masses of star-shaped flowers grew.

It even had butterflies fluttering around, the little insects of various shades.

User Image

Arian pointed out the tree as he opened the wardrobe before hopping up on the chair "Mummy got it from a friend of hers although she won't tell me who. I think it's so pretty and spiffy though. What do you think of it Aikori?"

Kaze laughed, "You could say that" she said with a smile, the smile fading at Enikil's question-answer to her question about wards.

For a moment she hesitated, grey eyes looking the direction of Arian's room to make sure Arian and Aikori were occupied before answering. "You know that I'm a mage by trade and might have wondered why I didn't use any today considering that generally I use it quite a lot - especially levitation magic since it's part of air magic which is one of the two elemental magics I specialise in" She smiled ruefully. "Well wards are something that keep magic from spilling out - keep it contained in one place."

The half sprite sighed "And right now is the only way that I can do any real magic at all."

Enikil
When Aikori caught sight of the plant, his green eyes widened in awe. It had to be one of the prettiest things he had ever seen! He'd never seen such a sight before, he wanted to reach out and touch it but knew better then to try. He didn't want to scare the butterflies away.

"That is so cool! You're so lucky Arian!!" Aikori excalimed, keeping his eyes glued to the plant.

Silently, Enikil wondered why Kaze couldn't use her magic freely. He had noticed that she hadn't been using her magic at all since he'd seen her lately. Listening to her carefully, he looked to the boys in the room then back to Kaze.

"I have a feeling that something is wrong, Is everything okay?" Enikil asked softly, expressing his concern for his friend.

kaze1981
Arian tugged the blanket down from the top of the wardrobe and dropped it carefully to the floor, before carefully hopping down from the chair so as not to trip over his tail. "Want to hold it?" He asked Aikori. "I don't think the butterflies will mind - they don't mind when I tug it down and hold it - it's lighter than it looks which is really odd since it's got all those star flowers growing from it."

The unicorn boy scooped up the rug "I can pull it down once we get this set up and get some food if you want" he offered.

Kaze sighed and looked quickly from Arian's room and then back to the table "Arian doesn't know, but the reason I'm staying with Kori is partly for my own protection." The half sprite looked down at the table. "I don't know if I told you that I met my mother and found out I had a cousin" Kaze's voice was very quiet, the words going no furthur than the table.

"I also ended up at the elemental court - the air court. Kori and I went there to rescue my cousin - well more he's my mother's cousin" Kaze gave a short humourless laugh. "They were trying him for treason because he refused to stop seeing my mother."

It might have seemed odd that Kaze was talking about her family in response to something that was wrong, although the two tied together along with why the half sprite was not using any magic.

"A word Kaze" Kori caught the half sprite's arm as she was about to follow Arian out the door, the gesture making her start in surprise.

"Um sure," For a moment Kaze turned her attention to the unicorn spirit. "Are you ok with going on ahead Arian? I'll catch up to you in a..."

"Ok Mummy."

"The brat will be fine" Kori's cool response was spoken at the same time as Arian's cheerful one.

"He does have a name you know." Kaze fixed the fallen angel with a slight glare. "And it's not brat." The half sprite was feeling unusually out of sorts for some reason, part of the reason she had suggested a trip to the park with Arian - something that the unicorn boy had agreed to with glee.

Kori shrugged, the fallen angel's attitude irritating the half sprite even more. "He's a brat - just because he's also one of your strays it doesn't make him not a brat. Besides he talks to much and asks too many questions."

Kaze glared "He's a child Kori, only..." Kaze frowned realising that she didn't know how old Arian was. "He a young child - children tend to ask questions - it's part of being a child... And he's not a stray or a brat or a nuisance - he has a name."

"Whatever" Kori's voice was flat. Cold silver eyes "You should be careful that you do not try to make him a substitute for the boy you lost. For all that they have the same name he is not him."

"I know that! You think I don't know that they are not the same.." Kaze's voice dropped to a whisper on the last.

Kori's voice was cruel "And yet you call him son, treat him as if he's your own. You fool yourself into thinking he is your Arian come again because of a name and a unicorn horn... And..."

"You've made your point" Kaze's voice was whisper quiet.

"Have I?" Kori's voice was cold, the coldness matching his chill silver eyes. "Do you really think that" the fallen angel's stare burned into the sprite, bitterness flickering over them. "Is that why..."

"I said you've made your point!" A breeze had sprung up at Kaze's words, the pots in the kitchen rattling from the force of the half sprite's agitation, while somewhere inside the flat, a door - presumably the one to the bathroom - slammed.

"You should calm yourself" Kori didn't even seem phased by the display. "Unless you've changed your mind and want to be married off and bonded after all." He let go of Kaze's arm "And you should think on what I said. After all if you aren't looking for a substitute why did you adopt him in the first place?"

The fallen angel turned and walked past the silent sprite, a moment later and Kaze could hear the snick of his door though she remained standing where he left her.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

Emerald eyes stared wide-eyed from the doorway - their owner - a certain jade-haired unicorn spirit staring uncertainly at the silent sprite.

Arian had found himself turning back about 5 minutes from the flat after remembering that he'd forgotten his book that he used to draw things into and then when he'd got back he'd heard Uncle Kori and Mummy arguing - or rather Uncle Kori being mean as usual - although some of what the lavender-haired angel had said seemed confusing.

What does he mean by another Arian for starters - I'm just me - I've always been me.

Another thing that confused him was the breeze - it wasn't windy at all today and all the windows in the flat were shut - at least he thought they were.

And yet it was breezy enough to rattle to pots and Uncle Kori made it like it was Mummy's fault that it happened - even though I don't think Mummy does magic since I've never seen her do any!

Arian frowned wishing that Aikori was still there so he could tell him about it and ask him what he thought about it all, but it had been a week since the green lanturn spirit and his Dad - Enikil had come over.

Maybe however he could ring him and ask. Especially since all of this seemed so mysterious and Arian liked mysteries...

Well I like solving them anyway!

Quest for 13 roses...

Find the roses - win a prize...

Kaze peered at the flyer curiously, wondering how it'd come through the letter box for a start - as far as she knew the mail men were still avoiding Kori's letter box and yet...

Yet here was a flyer about a valentine's day event at the lantern shop where she'd bought Arian's lantern.

Find the roses and win a prize.. Well it seemed simple enough. Goddess knew that roses were distinct enough and besides it seemed.. Fun...

Kaze smile ruefully, it would also take her mind of Kori's request of her for a little bit - a request the fallen angel was expecting an answer to and one that Kaze had been putting off since her decision would affect Arian too.

With what Kori wants me to do Arian could not follow - he's but a child and this.. This is too difficult and dangerous for a child and yet...

Kaze sighed. She had a promise of her own to keep, one she had made to Arian. Somehow she didn't think Arian would understand her having to go away for a little bit because Kori wanted her to do a job for him and that he couldn't go as it could get dangerous.

A rueful smile quirked her lips - no one had mentioned that looking after a child could be so complex.

Another glance at the flyer and Kaze made a mental note to take Arian along with her - it sounded like something the unicorn boy would enjoy and would get the pair of them out of Kori's flat.

~ o ~ o ~ o ~

Half an hour later Kaze found herself pushing open the door to the shop, the half sprite feeling a little nervous - Arian had gone to the park if what she read in his note was correct and in his own words he was going to draw flowers and eat cookies, but he'd be back later - this meant Kaze would be effectively looking for the roses on her own.

((Added 21/03/2006))
Still 13 roses - how hard could they be to find...

Later on that evening the tired half sprite would have cause to regret those thoughts.

It was even as if the first three roses were hard to find, the first being tucked causually in the door, another on a table and the third held by the shopkeeper whom Kaze had seen a couple of times but not really talked to.

It was the other nine that had been the problem, the sun setting by the time a half frustrated, half bemused and all over exhausted sprite had finally found nine other roses bringing the total to twelve.

And then she had found out about the thirteenth rose...

A special rose, one which would give an even more special prize, although she was told that with the twelve she already had that a prize was guaranteed.

Kaze had thought about leaving it at twelve, after all she was tired and it was late and who knew what was happening back at Kori's flat - that was if Arian was even back yet.

That is until she found out the prize.

Wings...

Although unsure as to what sort of wings they would be - something about them being something that would be suited to whichever lanturn spirit absorbed the special lanturn - the fact that they were wings at all was something Kaze could not resist trying her hand for, especially as the half sprite was not blind to Arian's interest with wings - especially feathered ones. She thought he had a feather collection somewhere, although she hadn't been able to stumble upon wherever it was that Arian had hidden it.

It was that though that had Kaze stumbling one last time through the shop, more and more frustrated until at last when she had been about to give up and take the prize for the twelve roses, a glimmer of gold had assaulted her senses...

It was a very tired, but happy Kaze who had stumbled into Kori's flat that evening, a rose lanturn half hidden behind her back as she sneaked in, meaning to hide it before Arian could find it and call her on it. It would be her surprise - something she though Arian would enjoy and appreciate - something that...

"Where have you been?" Kori's flat voice drifted from the sofa from where the fallen angel was sitting, sketchpad in hand . "And what's that you're hiding?"

"I..." Kaze looked startled. "That is.."

Kori interrupted her her before she could say anything more. "On second thoughts I don't want to know." He continued before Kaze could reply to that. "The brat's in his room, I presume he's sleeping since he's been unusually quiet."

A smirk drifted across Kori's lips, "Although it could be because I offered to give his precious feather collection to Mitsu..."

He ignored Kaze's irritated look "And yes he's eaten - I gave the brat the salad you made earlier and I think he's the cause of the missing bananas and the newfound mess in the kitchen which you're cleaning up by the way. That is unless you make him do it which you probably won't."

The fallen angel got up silver eyes pinning her with a stare "And you owe me an answer to my earlier question. The purple haired idiot is good in situations like these, but promise or not you are the better choice and you know it."

He slipped the sketch under his arm and headed towards his room "That brat of yours is a big boy. He can do without you for a week or so."

Kaze watched Kori go silently, the rose-coloured lanturn briefly forgotten as she remembered the earlier argument she had had with Kori and the fallen angel's request - the one she had still not told Arian about - the one which if she did what the fallen angel wanted would come into conflict with her own promise to the jade-haired unicorn spirit.

"What to do..."

What to do indeed.

"Where did I come from?"

Kaze blinked startled at the question, the half sprite almost dropping the pencil she'd been using to scribble notes into her book. "Didn't you say you same from your lanturn." The half sprite gestured to the jade lanturn that as usual was lying not far from where the unicorn spirit had decided to sit curled up on the floor.

"I know that" Arian shot her an exasperated look. "I was just wondering about before that."

Kaze gave Arian a curious look and paused in her scribbling. "Well that's rather.. Sudden - why wonder today of all days?" She set the pencil down carefully.

"I've kinda been wondering for a while" Arian half bit his lip hesitantly. "I remember being in the lanturn, remember how bored I was in there and I remember hearing you singing sometimes and the sound of your voice, but I don't remember anything before that or why I was there." He paused for breath "I just was."

Kaze tried to decipher that torrent of comments, ruefully wondering how the unicorn boy managed on barely pausing for breath in between comments, but as she deciphered what he'd been saying a thoughtful frown crept on her face. "Actually you know I don't know, I never thought to ask Mr Bumby about it."

"Mr Bumby?" Emerald green eyes looked inquisitively at her.

"Mr Bumby is the one I bought your lanturn from" Kaze explained. "If you like maybe you could ask him?"

Her comment garnered a shrug from Arian "Sure! Maybe next time we go to the shop. Can I make cookies this afternoon?" Emerald green eyes gave her a hopeful look "I want to make them by myself."

The sudden subject change made Kaze blink for the second time that day "Only if I'm there to watch you and no going near the oven."The half sprite remembered the last time Arian had tried to make cookies - unsupervised. The solid black cookies - a product of the curious unicorn spirit combining several colours of food colouring to see what they would do - somehoe managing to stick to bits of the oven creating the most awful mess.

Arian pouted slightly "Ok, can I use food colouring in them? I want to try mixing a few..."

Kaze shuddered slightly, memories of the last time Arian had tried using food colouring still topmost in the half sprite's mind "No!"

"But.."

"No!"

"Ok then.. Can I use sprinkles?"

Kaze thought on it - but couldn't see in headaches involved in letting Arian use some of the sugar sprinkles she had on hand "Ok then."

Arian grinned - the grin lighting up his eyes and making the emerald depths sparkle.

kaze1981
Kaze pushed open the shop door awkwardly, a plate of cookies in her left hand, her right one pushing at the door handle.

The half-sprite had found the tea party invitation at the post office when she'd gone to check the mail and one excited unicorn boy and two plates of freshly baked cookies later - the latter owing to the fact that Kaze felt she ought to contribute if just a little - and here the pair were.

"Hurry up Mummy!" Arian was almost bouncing with excitement, silvery-grey wings fluttering down from his wings. "Otherwise everyone will be gone." The unicorn boy was particularly worried about this as he didn't want everyone to have gone home before he had a chance to talk to them.

Kaze laughed, having finally managed to fumble the door open. "I don't think we're too late" she told Arian as she stepped through the doorway and into the shop. "I can hear people."

"But you were so slow with baking those cookies and..." Arian paused distracted by the smell of cakes.

M
Seeing the new arrival having difficulty, Marrigan rose from her chair, grabbing the door. She was a little late, but somewhat more lucid than before, the excitement of the party having woken her a little. Deciding to at least try and be civil, she closed the door.

"Would you like some help?" she asked the woman, eyeing the balancing plates.

kaze1981
Kaze gave the woman a smile "Help would be..." She started, but Arian interrupted.

"Are there other people still here?" He asked the lady, somewhat anxiously. "I want to meet lots of people if I can since Mummy said that lots of people come to parties and I don't know many people." He paused to draw breath "Oh and I'm Arian by the way and that's Mummy. What's your name Miss?"

M
"Ah, yes I believe that there are a few people around," Marrigan answered somewhat overtaken by the barrage of questions. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Arian and Miss Mummy. My name is Marrigan Knight." She bowed slightly with her introduction.

"Perhaps I should take one of those plates," Marrigan said, moving forwards. "I would not like to see your hard work wasted." She continued to watch Arian out of the corner of one eye. She had never seen a person with wings before, nor a horn.

kaze1981
Kaze laughed "Pleased to meet you Miss Marrigan, my name's Kaze and if you wouldn't mind taking my plate then I can take Arian's since I know he's excited at the chance at meeting lots of people. Have you by chance a lantern too?" She pointed to the one that Arian was holding, the jade lantern at first not readily noticible as Arian was holding the plate of cookies.

Arian blinked at Marrigan "You do the bending over thingy too" he told her. "You're the" he paused to think "Um third person I've met who does it. Are you doing it to say hello?" He frowned "Or say sorry, or..." he paused. Come to think of it of the other two who'd done the bending over thing Toshi had done it to say hello and the red lantern girl Hi... Hik something had done it to say sorry.

Hakari-chan
Hakari came back out of the back room of the shop with a sign that said 'Employees only' on it. The red bow she had put in her hair fluttered slightly as she moved gracefully about the room, long curled black hair trailing behind her in elegant wisps. She held a platter of fresh tea cakes balanced on one hand, and the other holding a pale haired baby on her red silk clad hip. She gently placed the platter on the table and then moved off again.
The baby on Hakari's hip looked around with large, blue, curious eyes. The child looked like a normal human infant until one spotted his feathered tail and three sets of tiny wings that graced his back. He smiled happily at all the brightly glowing children that scampered about the place, clearly entranced by all the colors.
Hakari smiled at the child and kissed him on top of his pale, curly haired head. she then smiled at the two women who had just entered.
"Good afternoon and welcome to the party. Make yourselves at home." she said with a bright smile that lit up her red eyes.

Toshi skipped back into the shop in a white party dress and bow in her hair. She had a plastic bag with different kinds of tea in it, signaling that she had just come back from the store. She smiled around at all the people who had come in since she'd left. Her wild magenta hair bobbed as she looked around excitedly.

kaze1981
Kaze smiled and looked over in Hakari's direction as the other woman spoke "Thank you and thank you for inviting us - Arian's been excited about it all afternoon."

Arian nodded, emerald eyes peering curiously at the baby that the other woman was holding.. He had feathered wings too and. He opened his mouth to ask about them, but his attention was caught by a familiar pink-haired girl carrying a bag of tea - well familiar as in met once at any rate. "Hi Toshi!" For a moment Arian almost waved, but the unicorn boy remembered the plate of cookies at the last minute.

M
Taking the plate, Marrigan smiled.

"A pleasure I'm sure. And yes, I do have a lanturn as well." Holding the plate steady as she did so, she wiggled her elbow a little to show off the lavender pink lanturn hanging from it.

"Hmmm....bowing like that is a habit I picked up from my family. In my case, I believe I'm using it to say hello, although I think it is used to emphasize politeness."

Glancing over, Marrigan saw the three enter. She recognized the woman from the time when she first saw the lanturns, but could not recall if they had ever been properly introduced. And of course she had met the young girl lanturn spirit upon her last visit, and smiled as she recalled the information she had been given.

Turning back to Kaze, she motioned to the platter.

"Where do you think I should place this?"

kaze1981
Kaze snagged the plate from Arian deftly, relieved and a little surprised that the cookies were still on the plate considering how loose the unicorn boy grip on the plate was. "Thank you" she told Marrigan with a smile. "And your lantern is pretty." She looked thoughtful "As to where to put these, maybe in the kitchen" she frowned slightly "Or wherever the rest of the food is."

Arian blinked "Ok" he said, his attention flickering back to Marrigan. "The bending over thing seems really complicated though. How do you know what to use it for?" He looked at Kaze "Maybe you could put it with the cakes Mummy - I can smell them." He gave Kaze a hopeful look. "They smell yummy."

Hakari-chan
"Hi Arian!" Toshi said cheerfully as she ran over, white party dress billowing about her slender form as she moved. The magenta spirit had found that she rather liked wearing dresses. She liked the way they flowed about her legs and flared out when she would spin around. She had to admit that they weren't always a sensible thing to wear though.
"Ooh! are those cookies?" Toshi asked, peering closely at the platter Arian was carrying, her wild hair falling forward a bit as she did so, forcing her to brush it impatiently behind one ear.
"Why don't you put them on the table and then we can play a game or something?" she asked her fellow level three spirit, clapping her white gloved hands together happily.

The baby too looked at Arian curioiusly. when he went to make grabby hands for Arian's hair or horn though, Hakari quickly caught his hands and shifted him to her other hip. The little boy pouted and looked at the women in front of him instead, smiling at them as he always did to friendly people.
"It's not a problem." she said with a merry smile. "Potato and I decided that we could all use a little get together to help all the little ones get to know one another." She said and looked around the room at the many brightly colored children.

M
"Thank you very much," Marrigan said, looking fondly at her lanturn. Walking over to the table, she placed the cookies in a free spot, nudging them to make sure that they would not topple off the table top.

Returning to the group, Marrigan bowed once again to Hakari, chuckling slightly as she did so.

"I don't believe we were introduced? My name is Marrigan."

kaze1981
Arian grinned at Toshi, answering her question as he waited for Marrigan's answer "Yep they are, Mummy baked them when she found out that there was going to be a party since she says it's rude not to bring stuff and..." He blinked as he realised that he no longer held the platter of cookies and. "And they're.." he started.

"I've got them Arian" Kaze said interrupting him. She peered at Toshi curiously "Hello - I look after Arian. I don't think we've met though. I'm sure I'd have remembered someone as pretty as you." She smiled at Toshi as she half-watched Marrigan place the plate of cookies on the aforementioned table.

Hakari-chan
Toshi blushed cutely at the compliment she recieved from Kaze and said "I'm Toshi, my keeper is Hakari." she said with a smile, curtsying in her white party dress to be polite to the woman.

kaze1981
Kaze smiled again "And my name's Kaze." She looked at Arian who was looking curiously at Toshi. "It's called a curtsy" she told Arian. "It's more a girl thing though, boy's bow.. Or as you call it do the bending over thing." She paused and then added "I'll just pop these cookies on that table, so Arian's free to play with you if you want Toshi." The half sprite suited actions to words.

Arian blinked. How did Mummy know that he was about to ask about it? And.. And... The unicorn boy blinked again as he realised that Mummy had gone. "Oh she's gone" he murmed half-disappointed, before brightening when he remembered Toshi had mentioned playing. "I'd love to play a game" he told Toshi brightly. "What game should we play?"

Hakari-chan
"Um um um...."Toshi said, tapping one finger to pursed lips as s he thought, pink eyes roving about the room as though seeking the answer somewhere on the walls.
"Well what kind of games do you like?" she asked him finally, not sure what kind of game to suggest to him.

kaze1981
Arian looked thoughtfully at Toshi "I like any game, well not chess - cause that sounds boring, but I'll try any other game.. Even ones I don't know as long as it's ok for me to ask about them if I don't know them." He frowned "I don't really like I Spy either though, I don't know why though.. I just don't."

Hakari-chan
Toshi nodded and then said "Well...How about kick the can? We can play it outside! It'll be even more fun if we can get more people to play with us...maybe Vanescere will!" she said with a grin. "What do you say?"

kaze1981
Arian grinned "That sounds fun and I'll get to run too and I like running" he laughed. "I'm good at running, though it was hard at first running with wings since I wasn't used to them." His green eyes looked curious "But who is Van-es-ce-re?" he asked stumbling over the long name. "Is he like us?"

Kaze wandered back from placing the cookies on the table a cup of tea in the half sprite's hand. She noticed Hakari talking to Marrigan and headed in their direction, hesitating when she saw the pair in conversation - the half sprite not wanting to interrupt.

Hakari-chan
"Great! Yeah Van's just like us, only taller." she said with a smile. "Ooh Hey! Lets ask them to play too!" she said and grabbed Arians hand and pulled the winged unicorn over to mocha and Braeden. She was all smiles as she smoothed out her white party dress and asked "Hey, do you guys want to play kick the can with us?"

Kuuroinochou
[A Day out for Tli...]

The door swung open as a bluish-purple creature came bouncing out, small frameless glasses adorned her eyes as she began twirling and spinning in glee. "Tli!" Came the familiar voice of the one she called mama. Turning to address the curly topped temptress, Tli reached for her glasses pulling them from her petite head.

"Yes mama?"

"Be careful with those glasses please. Its not easy having to pay for such expensive equipment you know. Here..." Kuu said reaching into her pocket to pull out a change purse, she dug into its contents for a moment before pulling out some gold. "You can spend this however you wish but please, try not to over indulge yes?"

Tli giggled reaching for the money before she nodded her agreement. "Alright I'll try..." with that said she reached up for a hug and a kiss which she was promptly given. "I'll be back later."

"Return safely." Kuu replied.

Tli nodded and headed out of the garden and into the dirt pathed road. Sniffing the air and watching all sorts of insect flitter past her she squealed with delight as she began to rush forward in glee. "Finally a day out of the house... I can meet new people and see all kinds of things. This is gonna be great!" She exclaimed turning the corner that left her street.

kaze1981
Arian sat lazily by the base of a tree, the unicorn boy absently playing with a few silver-grey feathers as he listened to the birds singing in the tree above him.. Ok well some of them were singing - some.. Well it didn't really sound like singing whatever they were doing.

Half-closing his eyes, Arian turned his attention to his sketch book. The unicorn boy had tried to draw a bird earlier but it didn't look right and so he'd given up on drawing for the moment.

He sighed feeling kind of bored, he didn't really like to sit around for too long even if the brid singing was for the most part pretty.

Kuuroinochou
Tli jogged a a slow pace as she made her way down the path. There were indeed birds chirping and singging, flitting to and fro from tree to tree. Squirls were skittering up and down tree truns as well, one such creature stopped to sniff the air at Tli's feet before skittering away and up a tree.

"Oh wow!" Tli exclaimed following after it. The squirl could sense the presence give chase and continued up the tree stopping ever so often to sniff the are and access its surroundings.

As Tli investigated the creature she had yet to notice the unicorn bow on the other side of the trunk. Seeing wings potrude from the other side she assumed it to be a landed bird or perhaps it was hurt. The squirl all but forgetten she walked slowly up to the wings reaching an unsure hand out she touched the feathers lightly with her finger but as she went to reach out again she lost her balance tripping over the tree trunk and flipping head over heals into the wings and its owner.

kaze1981
Arian jumped startled as something touched his feathers, the unicorn boy turning his head in the direction of the something - what he hadn't expected was moments later for the 'something' to fall into him.

"Ouch!" Emerald green eyes looked uncertainly at the 'something' - which turned out to be a lantern spirit, although as the unicorn boy quickly realised - not one he'd met before.

Kuuroinochou
"Ow...oohhh... I'm sorry." Came a soft tinkling voice. Tli looked up into the emerald eyes and blushed her slateblue coloring heightened with the slight redining of her embarassement. "Are you hurt...should I call for help?" Call her a worry wart if you will, but Tli was a precaution taker and didn't like conflict as far as she could throw it.

Situating herself she sat back removing herself from the unicorn spirit. She dusted herself off, and then looked to him and back at her unwardrobed appearance. It felt awkward for her, although there were no parts (unlike humanoids) to show she felt - naked.

Sitting down she kept her eyes overted. "Sorry." came another apology from her lips as she ventured a meek look.

kaze1981
Arian shook his head at the jumble of questions "No not really" he said in answer to the spirit's question of whether he was hurt or not. He looked down at his tunic experimentally - nope didn't look hurt. "You just surprised me that's all."

He didn't feel offended that the lantern spirit had fallen on him - she'd said sorry after all and she looked sorry too - so in his book it was ok, there was one thing he didn't understand though. "Why were you touching my feathers?" His emerald green eyes were curious.

Kuuroinochou
"Um...uh... I saw them from the other side of the tree." she began but looked away. "I thought a bird had fallen and was hurt. So..." she left the rest for him to conclude thought it wasn't hard to guess. She was concerned for the bird should that in fact be the case... and equally curious to see it up close.

Reading so many books about nature and the world around her was far less exciting then experiencing the real thing. No one needed to know her lack of the outside world...at least not now. Though there were some perks to study time; she knew a lot about everything she would simply have to experience it first hand now.

"Well...my name is T'lanextli." she reached a hand out in greeting trying to clear the awkward air about her. "Just call me Tli for short. What's your name?"

kaze1981
"Oh.. Ok" was Arian's response to the lanturn spirit's answer. "No one's ever mistaken me for a bird before" he grinned suddenly. "Though it's nice to have feathers - feathers are one of my favourite things."

He picked up one of the silver-grey feathers he'd been fiddling with before the lanturn spirit had fallen into him. "Wow you have a long name - it sounds pretty too, though really long. Does it mean anything? My name's Arian and Mummy says it means silver - I'm not really silvery though."

kaze1981
"Brilliance.. That's when things are all sparkly and shiny and pretty" Arian said. "That's a nice thing for a name to mean I think" he smiled at T'li. "Mummy says my name comes from a place called Wales though I've never been there. Apparently they have lots of legends there."

He paused for breath briefly "Apparently some people still believe in the old ways there a lot too - whatever that means. Mummy was awfully secretive about it and I think it's one of the things I'm not supposed to ask about." The unicorn boy made a face, his nose scrunching up slightly "There seems like there's a lot of things I'm not supposed to ask about sometimes, though mostly I ask anyway."

Arian grinned at T'li "Since if I don't ask about things I'd never find out about things. Don't you think?"

Disinclined
The girl ambled cautiously through the streets, ribbon tied loosely through her long, blue hair. The sun shone brightly, casting long shadows on the surrounding skyscrapers. It could easily be considered a glorious day, and Riyana (for once) could truly appreciate the sunshine. A bit of a loner, the girl was searching for the perfect place - somewhere she wouldn't be in the way, somewhere she could immerse herself in her current project: reading.

She enjoyed literature - the stories one could lose themselves in, different worlds, different ideas, different everything. She was a slow reader, and struggled with more difficult chapters, but it came easier now than it did when she was smaller. Now, she could truly appreciate books and the worlds and escape they offered.

Today was no different than any day. The quiet girl, a soft smile carved upon her lips, found the place she wanted to be. A small, inner-city park - a few trees, a bit of greenery, a small fountain and a few benches scattered within the stretch of land. It was small, but it surely served its purpose.

A few other folk were scattered, enjoying the day - dressed up in skirts and suits, focused only upon each other or their lunches. Riyana paid them little notice, settling down on the first available bench. There. Glancing around, the girl closed her eyes, allowing herself to be immersed in sunshine.

Today was going to be a good day - she just knew it!

Rown
Dusk looked up and around as he sat beneath a tree, his sheep ears perked and listening. He had thought...that he felt the pulse of another lanturn, but as he looked around he saw no one. None the less he rose to his feet, dusting the back of his pants off and pushing several strands of loose hair behind his ears.

Rown hadn't been around as of late, and since Dusk had no real desire or care to, his long purple-and-black hair had been left down to cascade about his shoulders. It absorbed the warmth of the sun, helping keep the sheep-boy's neck warm, and it also seemed to sparkle as he walked.

He turned his head from left to right, trying to find the source of what he felt. It was somewhat...familar...but he couldn't place it. Closing the book he had borrowed from Rown earlier, he headed towards the pulse, humming softly.

Chegrin
Braeden was out on his usual runs through the city, though admitidly it was earlier than normal. Madcap sprinting was dangerous in the dark, despite his natural glow. A few nights ago, had it been daylight, he'd have noticed the people in the alleyway, and wouldn't have run headfirst into the group.

Ach, that was a blunder he didn't care to repeat.

As fast as a small car, Braeden rounded the corner on the pathway about the small park on his way toward the bridge. Time and time again, the river was where he ended his usual sprints, and by this point, he was fairly winded. Keeping up his pace to the very finish, two very distinct flashes of energy speared his mind. Blue and purple.

Braeden tripped, and tumbled across the walkway, rolling head over heels at least six times before skidding to a stop.

"Ugh..." He groaned as he rubbed his bumped head lightly. Standing, he brushed at some of the small scrapes he had aquired and checked his scarf for tears. Finding none, he decided to locate the sources of energy, masking his own as best he could. Silently he approached the two from behind. Over the top of a bench he could spot Riyana's blue head tilted skyward, and further away, a faint violet glow.

Braeden walked up to the bench and rested his elbows over the edge, near Riyana but not directly next to her. He smiled in at her, and waited for her to notice him.

kaze1981
Arian was bored - something the unicorn boy had been quite often as late. Really bored as in the cookie wouldn't make it go away and nothing else he'd done seemed interesting bored.

Mummy had suggested that he go out and that if he wanted she could go along with him, but then Uncle Kori had called her and she'd said she had to talk to him - although Arian didn't know why she bothered to talk to such a meenie like him.

The unicorn boy sighed absently fiddling with one of his stray feathers, his tail swishing from side to side, as restless as he was feeling.

What he wanted was something to do! Something different! Or maybe just someone to talk to, maybe some one he knew - like one of the other lantern spirits.

Racking his brain Arian realised he didn't really know any of the other lantern spirits that well, except for Aikori and that was since Mummy knew Enikil and...

"I'm soo bored" he said exasperated. "Boored!" He repeated again for emphasis.

Kuuroinochou
Tli walked the lonely path silently, taking in all her surroundings. Her frameless glasses were clasped in her hands softly as she observed all without them. "Finally free..." so many months indoors could cause a person to grow rather claustrophobic, which later Tli realized she had developed.

She didn't like to sit in one place for too long and she definately hated to be closed in. As she walked up the path taking a corner she saw a glow vaguely familiar to her. The last time she was out, she was still a lanturn and had no visual identity. Smiling softly she wondered if anyone would remember the lanturn of the Cat-girl...

She ventured forward to the orange glow and that of a violet one....

Disinclined
Thoroughly engrossed in her inward pleasure, happy to feel the warmth of the sun, she paid no attention to that of those around her. Surely, she thought she felt the present of other lanturns, other wandering spirits. Ever since growing, she'd been able to feel things stronger than before - was that Dusk's presence? Maybe. It surely felt familiar.

A few more were scattered about - unfamiliar to Riyana, though recognizable as kin nonetheless.

The sunlight was delicious - lately Riyana had been drawn more and more to the lighter sides of life. Despite her more approachable nature, the girl still held the skeletons of her past - some emotions weren't completely forgotten.

Paranoia whispering in her ear, she turned her head and opened her blue eyes - only to jump in surprise. "Breadan!" She squeaked, her eyes wide. She hadn't expected someone to be so close - why hadn't she noticed him? Had she really been that distracted?

Still, her gentle smile was quick to lighten her pale features, and a delighted humor entered her gaze. "You startled me," she admiited as if it weren't obvious. Glancing down at her white sundress, the girl tugged upon it, a new nervous gesture. Now there was a shadow of the old Riyana - always so softspoken and hestiant, always looking out at the world from underneath her eyelashes. If she could blush, she did - a bit embarressed by her jumpyness.

It was then, taking a moment to look at her friend, did she see his disheveled appearance. Eyebrows raising, the Riyana tilted her head, a flash of concern breaking her pleasure in seeing him. "Are you alright? You look . . . a bit tattered," she smiled, glancing away in case her friend took her choice of words as an insult.

Rown
Dusk felt a jump in pulses as he walked, looking around with delicate care. Had he felt two before, now he knew for certain that there were at least four lanturns around him. He could pinpoint two of them as very familiar...but the other two were something vague in his mind.

He went towards the ones he knew first, for though Dusk was growing bolder, he was still a sheep inside. New things frightened him a bit more than they should, so perhaps seeing something old before the something new would calm his nerves a good deal.

Dusk's ears swished back and forth as he neared the two familiar pulses, but he stopped and spun around as a new pulse sat directly close to him. He looked around, his blue eyes scanning without any hesitation.

Chegrin
Braeden smiled broadly. He still had it! There was something he always enjoyed about suprising people, startling them, and occationally scaring them, but mostly suprise. It had taken her a little longer than he anticipated to notice him. Not that he was complaining, as Riyana's pleased face was as good a view as any.

He watched her figit nervously for a moment, silent until she mentioned his ragtag appearance. He wrinkled his nose a little but never lost the smile. Bracing his hand against the back of the bench he easily leapt over to land in the seat, facing his good friend with legs crossed. She was looking away from him though.

"I fell, nothing major. What about you? You seem happy." He said, glancing at the sky. Indeed it was a beautiful day out, and she seemed dressed for the occation.

kaze1981
Inspiration didn't exactly fall into Arian's lap - ok well so nothing exciting came about of the unicorn spirit voicing his boredom out loud - not immediately at any rate.

Although Arian was suddenly graced with a potential answer to his boredom in the form of spirits - more specifically other lanturn spirits.. At least he thought he could sense them, although how many and how far away they were anyone's guess - though personally Arian thought that they weren't too far away.. Well he hoped they weren't too far away since that meant that there'd be people to talk to and hopefully no more boredom.

One spirit at least seemed quite close though, although Arian wasn't sure if it was some one he'd met before.

"There's only one way to find out" he told himself not realising he was speaking his thoughts aloud.

Following the 'feeling' for lack of a better word Arian was eventually graced with a sort-of-familiar violet glow, in a familiar but not-familiar way.

Plopping himself down next to the lanturn Arian racked his brain briefly for what he thought the lanturn's name might be - something to do with night and night-time and evening and Dusk! That was his name! "Hi Dusk" he said cheerfully.

Kuuroinochou
There weren't many other lanturns that Tli knew she had yet to mingle with a single one from her days as a glowing bulb of light. She doubted anyone would remember her exuberance to be free.

As she accessed her surroundings she noticed a familiar unicorn spirit with his wings. She didn't know the purplish lanturn and the other lanturns that she could feel were strewn about in various alcoves.

Walking meekly she ventured to put her frameless glasses on her petite little face, although no frames the glasses did slide down her small nose a bit. Brushing her long bangs from her face she simply walked nearer to the feathers that were familiar to her and reached out to touch them like before. It was now her way of greating the unicorn spirit without startling him too much or making a fool of herself. "Hello." she said addressing both spirits before taking a seat on the opposite side of Arian.

Disinclined
Riyana was pleased to note that Braedan didn't seem upset by her coloured adjectives. Tattered truly DID seem to fit the rough-and-tumble lanturn - his personality was perfectly befitting to his exuberant colour. Bright, always shining and incredibly energetic. It was contagious, in a strange sort of way, almost addicting. Her friend always had a way of getting her to open up, of drawing her out of the shadows she took so much comfort in.

Today was no exception.

Even with her natural light, even without holding onto her defenses like a crutch, the girl still needed the occassional encouragement.

When he leaped over to sit beside her on the bench, she turned, glad that he decided to stop and talk. Setting the book in her lap to the side, she turned towards him, making it easier for conversation. She didn't want to come off as being rude!

"I am happy today," she agreed, reaching up to tuck a few loose strands of hair behind her ears. "I'm outside, the sun is shining, and now you're here - what else could I want?" Friends were nearby - her gaze, though focused on Braedan, occassionaly flickered to the nearby spirits.

A few she could sense were still strangers, but Dusk wasn't far either - his purple glow easy to recognize and spot.

It seemed everyone wanted to be outside today, and Riyana surely couldn't blame them!

Rown
Dusk shuddered at the sound of his name, quickly turning to see a fellow lanturn resting on the bench he was standing by. He'd never seen this fellow before, or if he had, he'd forgotten his name. Dusk surely would remember seeing someone with a unicorn horn and wings...but he couldn't place this new face. And it unsettled him even more that it knew his name.

"H...hello. I'm afraid....I don't remember you, have we met?"

Dusk's words were a little shakey but firm, and he remained polite in his tone and speech. The least he wanted was to offend someone at this point in time, no matter how brave he was slowly becoming.

He flicked his head towards the direction of where he thought the others were, longing to go and see them.

Chegrin
If he were more modest, Braeden would have blushed that he was on the list of things that made Riyana happy. Instead, he just silently swelled with pride. Shining sun, being outside...
"I'm glad you're doing well." And it was true. Ever since he met the blue lanturn, he'd prided himself in helping her open up and enjoy just being. It seemed it was working.

Instead, he just reached around to grasp his long ponytail and bring it around so he could toy with the tip of it. The rest of his hair just blew around haphazardly, though typical of his style, one eye was completely obscured.

"What are you reading?" Braeden queried, noticing she placed a book to the side. Since she admitted being inexperienced with the recreation, he was glad to see her attempting to better her skills. A puff of breeze lifted the trails of his scarf and deposited it onto his lap.

Arian grin faltered at the other lanturn's response and turned into a nervous smile. "We met a long time ago, though it was only once.. I remember you were humming and it was pretty and there was another lanturn there too - she was read and did a funny bending-over thingy like Toshi does although Toshi does it to say hello and she said she did it to say sorry."

Arian finally paused for breath "It was only one meeting though and it wasn't very long either. My name's Arian by the way if you've forgotten it."

Disinclined
Riyana sat comfortably on the bench, her sandels dangling off her feet. Back pressed completely against the back of the bench, her toes didn't quite touch the ground. But be that as it may - she was still young, and not completely full grown.

Reaching over, she picked up the book and offered it to her friend. "I found it in Devan's room," she admitted, her lips curving upward almost impishly. "It was forgotten in some corner behind his bed, but it was one of the few that had actual words to read. He doesn't have a library like yours - not at all!" Was that - shock gasp and horror - a giggle?

Did she actually, pray tell, laugh?

It was a small chuckel, and could almost easily be overlooked as a vocal-smile. But it was, the softest of giggles, from memory of the mess that was Devan's room and his library in comparison to Braedans. There was no comparison - in fact, Devan didn't own a library card much less more than five books that had actual words!

"It's called The Call of the Wild, and I think it's about a dog," she explained patiently, a little proud smile echoing in her words. "I just found it today, so I haven't really started it yet."

It was a little victory for the girl, but a victory nonetheless. At least she was actually reading - slowly, but it was literature nonetheless.

"Oh? So 'Kori' is his name? But I'm sure he didn't mean it. Why would he want to make someone so cute and green go away?" Eri questioned, more so to herself than anybody else. She wasn't really expecting an answer.

Prisma flew back over, leaving a small trail of gray feathers lying on the floor. When she arrived by Eri's side, she smiled and took the little brown lanturn from her. It appeared as though Prisma wanted her turn to hold onto it. She watched it carefully as the light's intensity changed as if it were trying to speak.

Eri chuckled when she heard about Arian's desire to 'try' sunlight. "Maybe someday you will." Hey, one never knows what the future holds. whee "That was kind of your friend to let you stay with him though."

Kaze laughed at Eri's question "Well Kori is the name I know him by, though it might not be his real name. He's been around a long time - he's a lot older than me." She grinned "And I'm older than I look."

Arian had been watching Prisma - well more specifically the trail of grey feathers left behind her - the unicorn boy reaching out one finger to experimentally touch one carefully before asking "Could I have a feather?"

The unicorn boy loved feathers - he liked all types although the soft ones were his favourite. Although Mummy and Uncle Kori didn't know he'd been keeping a collection of feathers under his bed from feather's he'd been able to find. "I'll look after it I promise!"

Secretly Arian wished he could have feathers of his own, could have feathers he could fly with like the birds did. He wasn't a bird though - he was a Unicorn, which was like a horse but with a horn that could do magical things according to the books he'd read - although he didn't know if he could do magical things.
