Sam came up with her cup and got some more punch, noticing Ristuka. She smiled and nodded in her direction. "Hey, whats up?" He asked, not at all sure she would recognize her as a boy. She looked completely different, no girly Sam features, besides her tail and ears... but they didn't really count she thought. She came up and smiled at the other "boy" with her and winked at "him". She didn't know why... but "he" seemed a bit... different. and Sam figured it was because of the same reason she was... to get to people. Since Sam was a shape shifter she usually could fool people easily... except her sister Akane. But... Just as Sam walked closer... she felt a nudge at her pant legs. Looking down into the cute, deep blue eyes of a small black wolf. They stared blankly at each other. Sam sighed, '...Damn it.' She thought. Akane smiled up at her then looked toward the girl in the dress, her eyes going wide. She ran up and glomped the girl to the ground, poofing into a ((once again)) red headed 6 foot girl. "Mommy!!" She yelled loudly for all to hear as she tackled Ristuka to the ground, not caring about anything or where she was. Sam sighed, shaking her head at Akane as she cuddled Ristuka.

"Yeah, I'm Sukai,"she replied smiling slightly.

"ahah, I was going to ask you why, but I guess that clears it up. I like your teddy bear." she added pointing it out.

"Um..would you like to talk someplace a little bit more quiet?" she asked shyly motioning to him towards an area towards the back away from the music.

Alex leaned his head to the side by an imperceptible fraction and furrowed his eyebrows inquisitively at her joke about her ears. Then she reached up and grabbed what he had previously thought was just an errant tuft of hair, but was really a third, cat-like ear protruding from her hair. Oh! She had cat-ears! 'Well, that's not quite a rarity around here, I guess,' he thought, giving the cat-eared boy who batted at spots of light running over the floor a thought.

"Uh, I guess not," he replied, his thick Greek accent flaring up. It sounded very similar to a Spanish accent, with long vowel sounds becoming short. "It's nice to meet you as well." He nodded cordially to her. He smiled at her next comment. "Yes, you do seem to be very popular. I will try to restrain my jealousy." He drew another swig from his can and lowered his foot from the wall, turning his body to face her. It was rude to talk to someone with your body turned away from them. He nodded as she admitted she was new to dances. "I'm new to this, too," he offered, in an attempt to relax her. "Actually, I'm new to schools altogether. I was home schooled." He stopped to drain the last of his soda before tossing it into the nearby trashcan. "At least, I was until my magic started to come in."

Her quiet laughter made him feel like he was overbearing, so he tried to back off, let her have her space and still try to be friendly. "If you don't want to, we don't have to dance," he offered. He laughed as genuinely as he could. "Actually, I would appreciate an opportunity to fill my stomach," his smile lingered on his delicate face, as he gave a gesture towards the refreshments on the table. "I have not eaten all day. Have you? Should I get you something?"

"thanks and sure" he replied to Sukai's question. he walked towards the area she motioned him towards. he found the nearest corner and sat down in it with his knees against his chest. he motioned her to sit next to him. he surprised himself when he did this. he never thought that he would ever motion anyone to sit next to him.

Ah... it looked like he hadn't realized the ear was real. Maybe she should've just kept silent about it. Then again, Kira knew that it, like her tail, moved with a mind of its own, so he'd realize it wasn't fake sooner or later. He didn't seem like he'd overlook something so obvious. She just hoped the other ear would appear so she'd have a full set, or the first would vanish to help her feel at ease. Though, it did enhance her hearing quite a bit... Speaking of which, this guy had a pretty interesting accent, her ear perking up a bit when it appeared in his tone. "Oh, come now. It's okay to be jealous,"she said with a grin, waving her hand lightly at him, then promptly dropped it again, instantly falling into a state of nervous embarrassment. She felt odd trying to joke with someone she'd only just met, but it was just part of the warming up process, right? R-right...

But she perked up a bit as he admitted that he was new to dances, and even schools. So, she had one up on him. "Really? What's home schooling like?" she asked with genuine curiosity. She'd often debated doing it herself, but she didn't really have anyone at home to teach her. So, public school it was, until this place. She was too old for high school though, which only made it feel more awkward, yet she didn't seem to be alone in that fact. Then, another word made her ear noticeably twitch, her eyes lighting up. "Magic? You... What magic?"

She paused for a second, looking him up and down, and wondering now more than ever if the robes and staff were real. It seemed likely that they were. "Well, I'd rather not, unless you want your feet stepped on," she decided, her eyes straying toward the table. "...I could use a snack.. if you don't stare at how much I'll eat." She frowned slightly to herself, still eying the food quietly. She was thin, almost too thin, yet she could really put away a meal. A side effect of something she didn't yet understand.

She watched as he motioned her to sit down next to him. Taking a seat and sitting herself gracefully to the side she looked towards him. Normally she wouldn't ever sit herself down, and she normally preferred to stand. Vampires normally wouldn't get so tired to have to sit down. But for this one occasion she decided it would be best if she did as so to level with Rawrshark.

"So, Didn't think I'd show up huh?" she asked him softly. They were sitting in a corner someplace. It seemed that he originated from a corner even before they met. She made a point of that and stuck it in the back of her mind that she would find a way to move him out of his shell. Even if it was just for this evening.

"Yeah at one point i didnt think you would show up and at one point i almost left" he said softly to her. he didnt really know what to talk about because he doesnt really talk much so he doesnt know what people like to talk about. he starts to think about what he has seen people talking about in the past while he has just sat there usually in a corner or in the darkness.

Alex grinned at her boldness. Finally, someone else not afraid to say what was on their minds. "Jealousy has never been my strong suit. I apologize." His grin promptly faded as she returned to her nervousness. 'What will it take to put this girl at ease?' he wondered.

He was reasonably mollified when she regained her confidence and asked him about home schooling. "To be honest," he began, "It was very boring. I've not met people outside my own family very often in my entire life. It is nice to be on my own now." He almost blanched at her follow up to his admission of knowing magic. "Uh, yes. Magic. Using the forces of the universe to affect reality. Y'know, like this." Then, quick as a thought, he outstretched his hands, spacing them half a foot apart and and instantly coalesced between them his green cloud of sparkling mist. He twitched his fingers and the cloud of mist between his palms molded into the form of a rose. "It's not good for much, like my mother's magic, but that's why I was sent here." Alexandros gestured with one hand and the rose levitated with his hand, holding out the mist rose to Kira. "Here," he said, smiling. "For you."

"I've no compulsion to dance, anyway," he admitted, placing his hands into his pockets. "And don't worry, my male sensibilities won't be injured by seeing a healthy appetite. I'll be right back with some food, then." He drifted over to the refreshments and refilled his plate with another sandwich and more chips. He snagged a few sodas for them, then realized his hands were too full to get a plate for Kira as well. 'No problem,' he thought, and with a flourish of one hand, he formed a amorphous platform from his green, glittery magic. He set his plate and the sodas down on it, he magic supporting the items well enough, and gathered another plate of food for Kira, setting that too on the platform. Finally, he snagged a few pieces of cake using more magic, and brought the assortment over to Kira. "Perhaps you'd like to have a seat at a table?" he asked, seeing her reaction.

Phae could just hear her aunt squealing in her head as she stepped into the dance hall. "Look at you! You're at a dance! Now find a nice boy to talk to!. She could hear her, she could also picture the huge grin that would probably be planted on her face. It would make the creases at the corner of her eyes wrinkle and her laugh lines more predominant. Her aunt had many wrinkles on her face due to so much smiling and laughing. Phae figured she probably overhauled on the cheeriness because she didn't show any at all.

She glanced around the room. She of course saw many awkward couples. A few were already romantically involved. The others were making the attempt, a few were doing rather well. Other were failing miserably.

She already knew that she wasn't going to get involved with any of them. Not romantically and not in a friendly way either. She was just here to watch, and to at least pretend like she cared. She knew Hitomi was going to keep track of her, and if she didn't show up to these events then she would know.

The refreshment table seemed like her best bet. She could eat and no one would talk to her, and even if they did she could pretend that her mouth was full. It was a win-win situation. She walked towards the food and was pleasantly surprised at all the sweets. She couldn't decide what she wanted to eat however. There were plates and she grabbed one and then poured herself a drink of some orange liquid. After that she began to debate. Cookie or cake? She chose the cookie.

She found herself a nice seat and sat back into it. Because she was so tiny her feet dangled a few inches above the floor. She swung them back and forth as she began to nibble on the chocolate chip cookies that she'd gotten. She would have rather had cheesecake, but there wasn't any.

Kira kept shifting sharply between boldness and anxiety, and she wasn't entirely sure why. Though, there was a chance that it was because this man had the title 'date' about him, and she wasn't at all used to such things. Though, it sounded like he wasn't either, and she had noticed the way his grin had vanished so suddenly. She'd try to be better.

For a moment though, she completely lost herself in his magic. Forgetting things like embarrassment, her eyes grew wide and her lips parted a little, nearing the point of jaw hanging open. She'd only just arrived, so this was her first truly unique experience of this school. She suddenly hoped there would be more to come. She stared blankly at the rose, up at his face, then extended her hand, flinched, and finally took it, handling it like it were made of the most fragile glass. Really, she hadn't a clue what it was. Green sparkly mist. How did it feel so solid? "Th.. thank you..." she murmured almost distractedly, mystified by this object she held. She kept twirling it gingerly between her fingers, examining it from all views. What was it..? Her cheeks had gained a faint pink touch, easily visible upon her pale, almost white skin.

"Alright.. no dancing then," she nodded, peeking at him from over the rose, and watching as he moved away. Then her gaze went right back to him, her mind wondering what sorts of things his mother could do, if this was apparently nothing. And.. she supposed it may just be a small little feat to him, but she found it simply amazing. She'd hunched a little in her pointless examination, and quickly straightened upon his return, blinking at him a couple times before nodding his head as she looked over the food. "Yes, please," she agreed, shifting her gaze about for a table, then took a couple steps toward one, while watching him. "I feel like I haven't eaten in ages!" Really, it had been about three hours since her last snack. However, she froze in her tracks as she realized just how he was carrying the drinks and a plate, and just like that, she was transfixed once more.

Alex smirked at her perky reply and led the way to a table of their own. He set the dishes down gently, hoping she wasn't uncomfortable with adjacent place settings. He held out a chair for her, gesturing towards it with the other hand. "Would you like a seat milady?" he teased.

He blushed and smiled nervously when he saw her transfixed gaze at him. "Oh, sorry, was carrying the plates with magic a little much?" He hadn't given it a second thought, it was reflex for him to use his magic to augment his daily life, but it wasn't precisely normal, he realized. "If it bothers you, I can refrain from using it too often," he offered, still holding out the chair.

It seemed Kira hadn't fully realized that she'd paused again in the first place, and gave a little jolt back into reality when he spoke about seats. But she caught the little name, and her blush grew, but so did her smile. "Yes sir, thank you very much," she replied, moving closer to him as she started to sit. But then she caught his blush, and her expression shifted to curiosity, then darted back to the magic 'plate'. "Oh no! Use as much as you want," she replied rather excitedly. "It doesn't bother me at all!" In fact, it was quite the opposite.

Tearing her gaze from the misty tray once more, she settled herself in the seat, feeling a little silly at the slight pampering of her chair being pulled out. Her hand twitched, starting to reach for food, then jerked abruptly back into her lap as she realized she should probably wait for him. She really wasn't very used to eating with others besides her family, and she never took care to wait for his brother when he came home from school. Being the only girl in a family could tend to have an affect on manners. But she waited, and turned her attention back to the rose once more. "So... what is it made of?" She really couldn't get over this. Her 'power' was nothing.

"Yeah at one point I didn't think you would show up and at one point i almost left" she heard him say. She instantly felt sorry for her fashionably late arrive.

"I almost didn't think I would come,"she mumbled to herself before raising her voice a little.

"I'm glad you stayed," she said softly, "so tell me about yourself? What are you for this Halloween?"

As she asked this her eyes moved about the room a little bit. She took in the people that were mingling, the heat that was slowly starting to arise from more bodies entering the room, she also took in the shy tendencies of Rawrshark as she waited for the answers to her questions, and everything else. She also thought about when she was a new born vampire and how even the smallest thing like a speck of light would make her eye chase it. The lights in the room made it a tad hard to focus, just a little bit.

Scytheress gave Ru a small sadistic smirk. Maybe she'd ditch her real date for this little cutie, he was the perfect amount of submissive. Just as she was about to reach out and stroke his ear again something rammed her from behind causing her affectionate gesture to become a smack to the face. True to her vixen attention span she forgot to apologize to Ru and instead spun to stare down at the creature now at her feet. He looked like just a small boy with all his feline nature but cute nonetheless. Scythe reached up and tugged on her pointed red ear in confusion. She thought she knew the boy at first but quickly shook the notion from her head. Then her thoughts drifted back to the memory of the letter she'd received about the blind dates. She was looking for someone named 'Ceasar Miranda'. Sounded like a snooty snot but she'd over heard some of the students before muttering about him and he certainly didn't sound like a blue blood. Maybe that's where she thought she knew him from, her letter. But no... this -child-? He certainly wasn't what she'd envisioned but maybe she should check anyway. "Don't worry too much, boy. All with that kind of ancestry have encountered similar problems. What's your name?" She was about to fold her arms across her chest when she realized that he might be a potential student and should probably help him up rather than let him sit on his bum. She didn't want to get the reputation for being a mean teacher after all. But hell, they didn't know she was a teacher yet. Jeeze, even she didn't know if she was a teacher yet! Still with a frown on her face, Scythe thought better of her actions and extended a gently clawed hand to the boy. "Lemme give you a hand."

Ru had still had his head tilted down when he felt a sharp pain to his forehead. For whatever reason, the pushy woman had smacked him in the face! Ru had already been petrified of this girl but he couldn't stand it anymore if it was going to turn physical. Panic stricken and in pain, the boy bolted for the nearest table that wasn't directly in sight of the crazy fox-woman. The table he chose happened to be occupied but he didn't care to check that part when he dove in head first. At first he just huddled in a tight ball, his ears laid back against his head and his tail tightly curled against his lower back but he slowly lifted his head to make sure that devil woman wasn't after him. What he saw instead made him fright almost as much if not more so that being grabbed by Scytheress: a girl's long slender legs and... and her panties! Ru's brain screamed in terror to run, to flee like a mad man but other parts of his body kept him rooted to the floor and his eyes fixed on the sight. In addition it seemed since the latter parts were closer to his legs they had control over his propulsion so he remain attached to the floor. Ru's mouth quickly dried out as his jaw worked without avail to force out a scream or at least an apology to whoever this woman happened to be.

Still terrified, he nervously rubbed at the red mark Scytheress had left on on his forehead... Wait, he had use of his arms! He could move! Elated, Ru put his palms to the ground and edged toward the chair two to the woman's right and awkwardly pulled himself up into the seat. The moment he got settled though he severely regretted his decision to come up, wishing only to be back under the table. This was horrible. At least under the table he could look at those wonderful... wonderful legs in solitude but now she could see him and, well, he could see her! It was a complete disaster. His face was red and bruising, his mouth and throat were parched, and his hair was tousled out of whack. He figured he looked like a fool especially since he'd dressed up for the night in a pirate costume; white loose shirt, brown skin pants, and high boots. He'd even clipped an earring to one of his furry ears. Ru clenched his hands tightly in his lap, doing his best not to look up at the girl but, as usual, his curiosity won. Slowly, his eyes moved along the edge of the table, up the girl's bo-.. (ok higher now Ru)..dy to her face. She was so cute. He felt his face blush furiously but he couldn't tear his gaze away. Generally a normal boy would have told her she looked beautiful, given her flowers or something but the poor chinchilla was at a loss. His lips moved for a moment but nothing came out until finally there was a quiet utterance. "Ru." His name was all he managed to get out followed by a quick embarrassed cough that mercifully tore his eyes back to the festive tablecloth.

"not much to say about myself except that im shy and i dont like to talk very much. and for halloween...... for halloween im just me. what about you. what are you for halloween and tell me some things about yourself." He said quietly in a seft voice. he repeated her questions only because he doesnt know any questions of his own to ask. he feels at ease while he is talking to her, he has never felt this way before while talking to anyone, maybe its because she is actually nice to him.
