Angelus chuckled. "What mom doesn't know is that I'm going to be bringing a new batch of animals. She's going to kill me, but she can never turn anyone or thing down. Technically, there's only one more human child mom has and she's all grown up." He nodded. Mom spoke of the elder Luna whom she helped raise, but she never saw her. Not once. She did her own thing and Mom respected that.

He nodded his head at Rhea. " Yeah. There is some classical music that is decent. A stringed instrument? What do you have in mind?" he asked curiously.

"Being eclectic is nice. You like music despite their genre's. " He smiled.

His attention turned to Tiwaz as she flitted through the CD's and the subject of instruments rose up. "Ocarina? I've never heard of it. Mom probably has. She's lived long enough to know these kinds of things. Mimic birds? That must sound really nice. Is it like a flute or something?" he was absolutey clueless as to what this instrument was but it intrigued him none the less.

"Hey!" He pointed to the album Tiwaz picked up. "That's Celtic. You have some good taste. Celtic music is really good." He rifled through that same area Tiwaz went through. Maybe he'd find something.

Instead, he picked up a stray CD that should have been placed in the Alternative section. "This one looks interesting." He read the back of the cover. "Panic at the Disco? Hmm...Why not? It's not too expensive." He figured.

Looking to Rhea, he watched as she just continued to rifle through the CD's. "Which one do you want?" he asked.

"Ocarina? I've never heard of it before, but it sounds like it'd make a really nice sound...If it sounds like birds, I know that'd be nice," she said, wondering what exactly an ocarina looked like. She was sure it was some kind of whistle...

"What kind of new animals are you getting?" she asked Angelus, curious about his new pets. Rhea figured that she had enough pets. Having to deal with Munich was enough...

"I think I'd like to play the violin...or the viola. I suppose the viola has a deeper, richer sound. But its really made for background music. Viola's never get to play the melody." Rhea had been looking into intstruments for awhile now, at Elysia's prodding. Her mother wanted her to be able to do all kinds of things, and playing an instrument was one of the things that Rhea had been genuinely interested in. Elysia herself had played the viola for awhile, but she never practiced, and couldn't seem to master vibrato. She quit after four years.

"mmm...I dunno much about Celtic music either. Is it good?" she asked Ti, looking over her shoulder at the CD she'd picked out. "Boy, I dunno what to get," she said, moving over to the racks with reggae and ska music. "I probably can't afford anything anyway. Mom doesn't give me an allowance yet. She usually just gets stuff for me if we're out shopping."

Skimming over the albums, she pulled out a compliation of old ska music from the 1950s, and recognizing some of the names from Elysia's CD collection, she turned it over in her hand, smiling. "I think this would be a good one though," she said, holding it up.

"It's sort of like a flute but not exactlybe cuase it's smaller and has differnt type holes and stuff but it's really pretty." she smiled at Rhea " The violin is pretty too but I don't wanna spend forever leanrignto play an instument especially when losts of famous people will always play it better." Tiwaz wasn't above admitting that she has some pride in her and partof that lately was a need to be considerd worth while not justa fortunate accident. if she was going to do somethign she'd be remembered for it.

As Rhea made her selectection Tiwaz began to offer to pay only to have her orb pulse momentarily and a nagging voice in the back of her head said to wait o see what happened.

Off to the Music Store, the Finale

Angelus watched the girls converse with one another. He perked up an eyebrow at the mention of other instruments. "An Ocarina?" He looked to Tiwaz. "A viola?" He then looked to Rhea.

"I didn't know other Tale's were interested in playing instruments as well." He smiled at the discovery. He was sure both girls would make great musicians when they got older.

Angelus looked to the side and noticed Rhea pick up a CD. He scanned the back of the package and recognized only a few artists. "Can I see that CD?" He asked Rhea. What he wouldn't tell her is that he would pay for wether she liked it or not. He was just trying to be sneaky.

"Well, I love music, so I think playing an instrument would be nice," Rhea said. "Wow, if we all learned how to play instruments, we could have a band!"

Rhea looked up from the CD and handed it to Angelus. Maybe he was interested in it too...She didn't know much of the music that he liked...."Sure, you can see it," she said.
"I'll bet it'll be good," she replied. "Are you ready Ti?" she asked the girl. "I wonder if Mun disappeared?"

"A band" Tiwaz mused softly. The thought of regularly hanging out with her friends and making music was nice, then again bands were a lot of work so so she'd seen on t.v interviews and she would have time when she got older to be in a band. Unless they travaled togeather as warriors pretending to be a band but even then it would be too much trouble to be famous. It hadn't even remotely occured to her that breaking into the music business on any world was hard.

" I'm ready" she replied to Rhea with a nod.

Angelus smiled at the mention of a band. "Why not? I mean, we don't have to do it profesionally or anything. Just something between the three of us." He said aloud.
FairytaleLover00: Looking at the CD in his hand, he gave Rhea a smile and proceeded to the cashier with her CD in hand. "Ready?" He asked Rhea and Tiwaz.

"Yeah, I'm not sure we'll hit it big, but we could at least practice together. I wonder if any of the other Tales play instruments?" she asked aloud, even though she was kind of thinking it to herself. "And with my future plans for traveling around to see the world, I'm not sure I'm going to have time for a professional gig," she laughed, grinning at her friends.

Rhea watched as Angelus took the CD to the front counter. Was he going to pay for it. "What are you doing?" she asked slyly, sidling up next to the counter. "You don't have to do that!" she said, her cheeks flushing slightly.

"We're going traveling Rhea, you and me and Ame if we can talk him into it and maybe Ezra if I can find him again." She eyed Angelus for a moment. While she certainly didn't want to leave her new friend out she wasn't sure abotu traveling with him, he was older than the rest of the group and would throw off the even number and gender balance. She was silent as she followed the other two to the cashier.

Angelus listened to Tiwaz talk about traveling. He felt a bit hurt but understood why he wasn't asked along. Being older did have its advantages... As well as disadvanges.

"Where do you plan on going?" He asked Tiwaz. Smiling again, he made sure he held the CD above his head so Rhea couldn't get it. This was advantage of being older.

"Yes I can and you have no say in it." He raised an eyebrow at her. He was going to pay for it whether she liked it or not. He made sure Rhea didn't get the CD while the cashier rung it up.

"Well, maybe Angelus can come along too," she said to Tiwaz, nodding. "I'll bet we can find some more people to go with us too. Maybe another girl." If Ti was worried about the gender balance, that could be worked out. Of course, Rhea would have loved to have Angelus come along.

Rhea jumped up to try to grab the CD, but Angelus was way too tall for her to reach that far up now...She crossed her arms over her chest with a 'humph' and tried to look angry, but inside, she was surprisingly happy. "You're too nice to me," she said to the raven-haired boy.

Tiwaz smiled, pleased that Rhea had been able to say what she couldnt she flashed grin at angelus " Yes you should becuase then if we got someone else like Rhea and ezra without wings there's be three peopel with wings and three without." Handing her own Cd over to be rung up she boucned from foot to foot.

She was slightly jealous that she hadn't been able to get Rhea her Cd but she had given her the bracelet, besides the orb had seemed pretty determined that letting Angelus do it was the right thing.

Angelus was grateful that he was given an invitation. "I would really like that. The more people with wings, the merrier it will be." He chuckled at his lame statement.

He laughed at Rhea's attempt to grab the CD. Laying his hand upon her shoulder, he gave her the paid CD. "Enjoy it." He smiled at her.

Smiling to Rhea, he then looked to Tiwaz. "Just tell me the information about the trip and I'll talk it over with my mom." He nodded.

Looking at a clock in the store he realized it was getting late. He also realized that he didn't buy his guitar today. Well, maybe next time. "I've got to get going. It's getting late and I'm sure mom is going to have a fit if I'm not home on time." Without warning he wrapped each girl in his arms and gave them a hug. His wings rustled against their heads.

"Let's hang out again, okay?" Letting them go, he walked towards the shop door. He looked back once more and gave them a wink before he exited onto the sidewalk.

She looked up at him and grinned. "Thanks Angelus. Next time, I'll treat you...or, well, when I get some money." She took the CD from his hands and squeezed it tightly. "I will definitely enjoy it." She joined in the group hug with enthusiasm, smiling. She was glad to have these people as friends, she thought. She gave Angelus a wink back as he walked out the door.

"I've got to get going too," she said to Ti, giving her another hug. "I'll see you again soon, I'm sure of it. Bye!" With that, she departed as well, walking the opposite direction from Angelus. She had to find Munich now.

Tiwaz had been stunned by the first hug she'd recieved she didn't mind it but it hadn't been expected that was for sure. Angelus's wings had been soft and he'd been very warm and strong . Rhea's hug had been gentler but just as warm and friendly. Still reveling in her friends heat Tiwaz watched them leave with a sad sigh, it had been nice to be amongstt her own kind even for a little while. With her CD held in oen hand and her orb in the other Tiwaz left the music store and headed for home.

Paying Back the Favor
RP 5: Rhea/Tiwaz

Rhea had come to Tiwaz's house, looking for the other little girl. She had found something that was perfect for her, and she'd been dying to give it to her. Rhea had worn the purple beaded bracelet that Tiwaz had given her every day since. It rarely was removed from her wrist--and when it was, it was for showers only. She wanted to give her friend something to repay her--a token of their friendship.

And of course, Rhea had good taste in crystals and jewelry. She hoped Ti could appreciate it too.

Pushing her thumb into the doorbell, Rhea waited for someone to answer the door. Again this time, Munich had escorted her to the house, but she stayed outside, waiting. She'd rather not socialize with any of Rhea's friends--only if it was necessary.

The door swung open and the two were greated to the sight of a half naked preteen with a red and blackfrog plushie on his head and grean and yellow wings. " Hey there , did mom adopt you to? Becuase she promised not to adopt any more things untill we were all older and agreed and hey that's a cute little fairy thing there can it talk, Mork dosen't talk but he can fly on a dragon, well a dragon kite. i wanna fly but i can't yet and there aren't any kites that big."making no move to invite the girls in Riycan simply stood inthe doorway babbling happily.

Rhea looked confused. This kid liked to talk just as much as she did! But could he answer questions?

"I'm Rhea, and no, I'm not going to be your new sister. Kites are cool. They can go really high into the air. You can do tricks with them too you know. Anyways, I'm friends with Tiwaz. Is she here?" she asked, tapping her foot on the concrete below her.

Before Rhea could introduce Munich, she turned around to see that the fairy was no longer there. She'd probably flown off to the Fleet HQ. Regardless, she'd be back in time to get Rhea. She was practically at Rhea's beck and call...Telepathy made that possible, as Munich couldn't tune out her bonded's voice as it rang through her head.

Riycan smiled and stepped into the house " Oh ok then yeah she's here, in the living room trying to beat threads of fate".

"I was trying to beat the game I've stopped before I broke the controller." From down the hall Tiwaz appeared and grinned at Rhea "I'm so glad you came over it's so boring here with only boys to play with and there usualy arguing with each other so if i play with one the others feel left out. " Tiwas was thrilled to see her friend and her expression showed it well. " Come in and we'll go to my room and talk."

"Threads of Fate?" she looked puzzled. Rhea didn't have video games at home. Elysia believed that she had been raised without them, so why should she give them to her children, who would sit in front of the TV mindlessly, tapping at buttons. "What's that?"

Following him inside, she heard Tiwaz's voice, soon followed by the girl herself. "Hi!" she exclaimed, grinning widely at her friend. "Yeah, I can understand how it'd get boring to play with boys all the time. Let's go!" She grabbed Tiwaz's hand and let herself be led toward her room.

Tiwaz resisted the urge to skip as she safely navigated herself and Rhea to her room. " Threads if fate is this cool roleplay game where you can either be this boy who lost his memory and can turn into animals or a spoilt princess who got chased from her home by pumpkins. She fights with magic rings and the ability to jump kick people. I like the princess story better."

Kicking some stuffed animals into a corner she gestured towards several bean bag chairs. " Pick a colour any colour." Like many childrens rooms there were various toys scatterd about the room andthe bed was unmade, sheets intertwined with the comferter. Tiwaz blushed "umm sorry bout the mess mom says i think the floor is a low flat shelf. which it sort of is."

Rhea happily followed her into her room, amazed to see the clutter. Rhea's room was always neat and clean, and if she did get something out, she'd always put it away when she was done using it. Rhea just giggled softly. She supposed it was probably Chaos' doing that Ti was a little messy. It seemed appropriate.

"Well, it certainly sounds like a fun game. I don't play video games at home. Maybe later I can try?" she asked, her crimson eyes brightening. "I'll bet I'd like the princess story too! She sounds like an okay fighter."

Taking off her shoulder-bag, Rhea plopped down on the nearest beanbag. Settling in, she took further notice of the things in Ti's room. "It's okay Ti. I should have expected that your room would be a bit messy...After all, you are the embodiment of Chaos on Gaia..." she laughed, and sat back in the chair. "So how have you been?"

Tiwaz grinned and nodded" Sure and I even promise no to help you and let you figure stuff out on your own, you might even be able to finish the whole game if you stay long enough, or if you sleapt over, becuase that would be cool and we could make a fort in my room and make travel plans and mom would make hot choclate and scrabble and I'd promise not to let Enigma try to sleep on you."

She briefly conisderd Rhea's explanation as to why she was messy,it was possible and she wondered of the excuse would work on her mom. suddenly curiousshe focused her attention on rhea again " Hey why did you come over, not that i'm not happy to see you."

Rhea had a look of excitement on her face as Tiwaz made plans for their future slumber party. "That sounds like a great time Ti! It'll be my first video game experience...and forts and hot chocolate and Scrabble! It sounds great. I'd have to ask my mom though--"

She paused, a bit taken aback by Ti's forwardness. "Oh, yeah. I guess I did have a reason for coming over...So, you know how you made me a bracelet?" She held up her wrist, showing off the bracelet that she'd been wearing since she'd gotten it. "I found something nice for you! I picked out the beads, and then put it together myself. Here--" She dug in her bag, and finally found the flat white jewelry box that contained the necklace. "I hope you like it. I thought it was perfect for you." Her cheeks flushed a little...She hoped Tiwaz would like it.

Tiwaz had been pleased that Rhea was looking foreward to the thought of a sleepover, she liked being around the other girl since they shared so much in common. Lifting the lid of the jewlery box she peered inside. " Rhea I it's beauitfull and the colours and the butterfly, mom says there's somethign about Chaos and butterflies and " She looked up her eyes filled with happiness "This is so nice you didn't need to but i'm really happy you did and I'll wear it all the time and never take it off." Tiwaz carefully put the necklace on and grinned" feels like it belongs on me, thank you so much."

Tiwaz felt like her own gift planed in comparison but Rhea had seemd so happy with it so maybe that's how gifts worked if you really want it to be special for someone than it is. Rhea must certianly have worked hard to make the necklace special becuase Tiwaz knew that she treausred it more than anythign she owned.

Rhea giggled, happy that Tiwaz liked the necklace so much. "Yay! I'm glad you like it! I thought the butterfly was fitting for some reason. I liked that it had your hair and eye color in the pendant too. It looks really great on you," she added, admiring the necklace that now hung around the girl's neck. "It's held together by psychic energy--that's why there isn't any wire or string connecting the beads...I helped the woman put it together, using a bit of my own power...So, it's got a bit of me in it too," she said, looking down, her face turning red. She fingered the beads of the purple bracelet on her own wrist. Now, she had given her new best friend something to remember her by. They were even.

" wow you must be pretty strong to do that, i wish i had storng powers like you. and it's neat that it has you in it so we can always be togeahter you knowand if anythign ever goes bad i'll always know that my best friend ever is with me." thought tiwaz missed Ezra she had known him only for a short while and Rhea and her connected so much better. " Hey wait if it uses that special energy does that mean you can hear my thoughts when I wear it? becuase that would be cool, if when were older and traveling and I needed you help all i'd have to do would be to think to you." Tiwaz was enjoyign herself immensely, in her midn she was connected to another being that wasn't Chaos. Rhea was with her and the part of her that was nervous about being alone in he mind with only Chaos and order was soothed by the idea that even if she wasn't really arounf or able to help her rhea was there in her own way.

Rhea blushed further. "Well, the lady at the shop helped me a lot. I couldn't have done it by myself." Rhea was astonished to see Tiwaz so...nostalgic. She hadn't had a friend like this yet, and it made her happy. What's a girl without a best friend?!

Rhea nodded, agreeing with Tiwaz. "Yes, I'll definitely be there if you need me!" she exclaimed, giving Ti a firm squeeze on the shoulder. "Well, I'm not sure if I can hear you now...the necklace will amplify your own psionic powers a bit, 'cause everyone has some, so I should be able to hear you eventually. But once I get older, it'll get easier. I just have to keep working on my powers. Maybe you'll have to shout at me until I get better." She giggled, and twisted around in her beanbag chair to face the other wavy-haired child. "But one day, I'll bet we can just talk back and forth, really quickly, and easily." Her eyes glittered, as she planned for their future. "Do you think Chaos will care?" she asked, her voice dropping to a whisper--as if it would matter! She was sure that Chaos heard everything.

Tiwaz shook her head smiling " Mom thinks that so long as it's in my best interest Chaos won't interfere with things I do from now on unless whatever I'm doing threatens it's power over me. I can't wait till we can talk quickly in our heads though because then we can plan all the time and play funny pranks on people."

For Tiwaz the future was a for more interestign topic than the present, after all inthe future she and her friends would travel and fight and she'd be in control. now she could barely hug one brother without a another getting jealous and even her baby sister bossed her around.Being little had soem advantages but when you were older the world was better she was sure of it.

"Well, as long as Chaos doesn't do anything crazy to me if I try to head-talk with you, it'll be okay. I'll always be here to protect you if you need it Ti," she said, nodding furiously. "It will be fun to play pranks too! Maybe I shouldn't tell many people about my powers," she said, thinking out loud. "What do you think? I dunno. Most people I've met so far haven't been too upset with it...Just Chaos."

Leaning back into her beanbag chair, Rhea looked up at the ceiling, and then around the room, taking in all of Tiwaz's belongings. She and Ti seemed to have a lot in common.

Tiwaz sat and listened to Rhea speak simply enjoying being in her friends presence. While Rhea's voice didn't have the musical quality their friend ameretet's did it was pleasant and gave Tiwaz an idea . " Hey since I can't plan on an empty stomaach and mom will probably bring us snacks soon why don't we sing till the food comes. We can practise being singers as a disguise while we trave;. if we don't practise we wont sound right and no one wil beilieve us and we'll get caught." The ideas were now flowing in Tiwaz's head, singing followed by food then borrowing some of her mothers make up for making disguises and then map making and goals like being able to weild a sword in a certain amont of time. " I've got lots of cd's and i can even borrow soem of my brothers if we're carefully not to scratch them"

Rhea's face reddened a tinge...She wasn't sure if singing was her thing...or if she was any good at it. "Well, I can try singing," she said, wanting to at least try for Ti. Hopefully she wouldn't embarass herself too much. "I've never really done it before though, so I don't know how good I am."

She paused, considering the benefits of being able to sing.

"I guess you are right. Our singing would make for a good disguise. I need to start learning to swing a sword too. Jiro said he could teach me, but he was kind of intimidating. I don't think he likes me much..."

"Hmm I need to have my weapon find me before I can practise with it." Tiwaz frowned " I hope I won't end up holding you back." Both girls wanted to journey togeather but Tiwaz was younger than Rhea and who knew when they would grow up.

" Everyone can sing even a little. You just have to practise by doign it all the time like during car rides and when you shower, that's when Riycan sings." Tiwaz beamed at Rhea " If we practise a lot we'll have the best disguise ever and maybe even make money to help us keep traveling."standign up she walked over to her CD player and fiddled around with it for a minute " Tell me a song you know and I'll see if I have it"

"Well, even if I find my weapon first, I'll wait for you. I wouldn't want to go all by myself," she said, giving her friend a hopeful look. "Even if I grow, I'll help you train, or anything you need. Because I think we should stick together." She nodded vehemently, giving her friend a squeeze on the shoulder.

"A song?" Rhea listened to some music with words...but she wasn't sure that the songs she knew were songs Ti knew. Her mom listened to some strange music--and it certainly wasn't anything played on the radio. "Um...I dunno. Old McDonald?" She shrugged her shoulders. After all, she was just a child, and those were the kinds of songs Elysia liked to sing to her. "I know some Disney songs too," she offered.

"Disney, oh I have Disney stuff" Tiwaz said nodding. Much like many children her age Tiwaz found the songs composed for Disney movies to be catchy and enjoyable. Placing a Cd in her player she turned to smile at her best friend " oh if your sort of here another voice singing outside of the room that's Riycan he's sort of nosy and likes to feel involved in everything." returnign to Rhea's side Tiwaz sat down and waited for the first song to start to play.

"Yeah, Mom has made me watch all of her favorite Disney movies. She even gave me her old tapes of Disney songs from when she was a kid. So, I do know some of those...My favorites are from the Little Mermaid, Aladdin and the Lion King, though almost every movie has at least one good song..."

She looked toward the door, wondering if she'd really hear Riycan sing. "Oh yeah? He's nosy huh? Do you not get along very well?" she asked, never having met Tiwaz's brother.

"What are we going to sing first?" she asked.

Tiwaz shook her head and smiled " Riycan and I get along great he's my second favorite brother, but it dosen't mean he can't be weird or annoying sometimes. I'm not sure which song will coem out becuase it's set to randomizer, I like music best when I don't know whats coming.Suddenly following the girls words the first few notes of part of your world filted out of the cd player.

The girls filled the rest of the afternoon singing and talking about their future travels. Though Rhea had initially been afraid of this girl, she was slowly becoming Rhea's best friend. It was good to have another girl her age to hang out with, and she was impressed by Ti's power. It looked as if the pair would soon be a force to reckon with...

The Angry Little Psion Discovers Yet Another Power
Diary/Narrative 11

The Marvel household had been calm recently. Kappa had moved out and into his own place, and he was now taking care of a daughter of his own. Rhea and Munich seemed to be getting along as well as they could, considering Munich’s— How can one say it nicely? Considering Munich’s bad attitude. Labbie was as quiet as ever, carefully watching over the household and entertaining herself by harassing the Furies that stayed around the house. Elysia was glad her children were finally finding their own ways in life. She’d been raising kids for quite a long time now, and she was looking forward to having fewer infants around the house. It was about time everyone grew up a bit, even if they were only to become children. Diaper changing wasn’t at the top of Elysia’s list of fun things to do.

This particular day held no special event or holiday, and in fact, it was as unremarkable a day as most others. Well, except for the fact that on this day, someone would see Rhea become an entirely different person. Unfortunately for that person, this would also be the day when the little psion discovered another of her powers.

Rhea woke up earlier than usual that morning. She wasn’t sure why she woke with the sun, but regardless, she thought she’d make the best of her day. She didn’t bother waking Munich, who probably would have bitten her if she had. The faerie was an angry little creature! She was always angry when Rhea tried to talk to her. She didn’t want to be bonded to anyone, let alone a little girl. It seemed like it was almost an insult to her.

Rhea rebuffed her as well as she could, making light of the situation. Elysia thought that they would have matched Rhea with a Feien that was more similar to her—there were personality tests involved and everything. Perhaps it was a sign of things to come. It was possible that Munich could turn out like Rhea. Or, Rhea could turn out like Munich. The latter was not what Elysia hoped for though. She wasn’t ready for another anger-filled person around the house. Munich was bad enough!

Rhea headed downstairs to have breakfast, rubbing sleep from her eyes. No one was in the kitchen, so she helped herself to a plastic bowl (placed in a low cabinet so that she could reach it) and spoon, and then pulled out a box of Cheerioes from the same cabinet. Elysia always made sure the important stuff was within Rhea’s reach. The milk was on a higher shelf in the fridge, but Rhea managed to reach it, standing on her tip-toes and pulling it down. She made herself a bowl of cereal and sat down at the table to scarf it down before deciding what she wanted to do for the day.

The newspaper was lying on the table, and she pulled out the comics section, immersing herself in Calvin & Hobbes. She was so involved in the comic that she didn’t hear Munich come up behind her. She felt a sharp tug on a few strands of her hair in the back and she spun around to confront the attacker.

“Hey! What’d you do that for?! You’re mean Munich!” She swatted at the faerie, trying to bring her down.

The Feien giggled uncontrollably, practically rolling over as she flitted around the kitchen, avoiding Rhea’s swatting hands. “You’ve got to be on the ball alllllll the time around me,” she said, teasing the little girl. “Never know when I just might fly by!”

With that, she swooped down again, grabbing a few strands of long brown hair before soaring up into the air again, tugging on the few strands until they broke.

“Ouch! STOP IT!!!” Rhea yelled, spinning around again to find Munich. She wouldn’t take this torture. Not today. Rhea had been feeling easily irritated in the past week or two, and soon, something would push her past the point of patience.

Munich easily moved out of Rhea’s reach, flying over her head and taunting her. “I’m just too fast for you,” the faerie said with a smirk on her face. “That just goes to show just how much better I am than you.”

“Oh really?” Rhea was pissed. “You don’t talk to me like that Munich. You’re my familiar. I’m NOT yours!” With that, she was ready to go off. She wanted to hurt Munich. Enough was enough. She’d hurt Rhea so many times—she deserved it.

Glancing at a pile of pencils that were lying on the desk on the opposite side of the kitchen, Rhea wished that she could throw them at the faerie…or something! She was thinking so hard about how she’d use them that they began to shake on the desktop, and after a few seconds of uneasy lifting, they hovered above the table, ready to strike.

Rhea’s eyes flashed and seemed to glow an eerie red color as she swiveled to face her attacker. “Well, we’ll see who’s really in charge now.” Her voice was calm and paced, and she wanted Munich to feel fear through her tone.

“Ha! Never!” The fae divebombed Rhea, aiming for her face. Her fingers were extended and ready to pinch the soft tissue of her cheek. As she approached, she saw the pencils, flying in attack formation, seemingly aimed right at her.

Rhea ducked so they’d miss her, shooting over her head and toward Munich, who tried to avoid them. Instead, the eraser-end of a pencil got her in the stomach, and it sent her into a tailspin as she dove toward the tiled floor.

“Yeah, don’t speak so soon,” Rhea said with an eerie calm, watching as the Feien fell to the tile floor. She could see that she wasn’t very hurt, just stunned by the attack. Normally, Rhea would have rushed to help the faerie. Even if they didn’t like each other, Rhea still cared if she was okay. She’d never hurt Munich intentionally like the fae did her. The psion’s eyes were still glowing and she kept a smirk on her face as she watched Munich pick herself up off of the floor, clutching her stomach. “You’ve probably made me bleed internally!” she shouted, wincing in pain as she breathed. “You could have killed me! What if you would have hit me with the sharp end!?”

“Don’t dish out what you can’t take,” Rhea said coolly, picking up her bowl and spoon and taking it to the sink. “I’m tired of you picking on me!” As she spoke the last sentence, her eyes faded from a glowing red to the more dull crimson shade they usually took on. She shook her head as if shaking off a strange feeling she had, and then, looked at Munich in confusion. “Wait, are you okay?”

“You’re asking that now? God Rhea, what’s your problem!? You tried to kill me!” The faerie zipped around her head angrily, temped to pull her hair again. She didn’t want to incite any more of Rhea’s anger though, and instead, she flew toward the doorway. “I don’t know how you did it, but that pencil trick was amazing. Now I need a shield.” With that, the Feien turned and flew back upstairs, to the safety of her shoebox home.

Rhea's Journal
Diary/Narrative 12

From Rhea's Journal

Something funny happened a couple of days ago. I'm not sure I liked it though. I didn't feel like I had control...like it was someone else inside me, making me do stuff. Like Ti's Chaos! I mean, I could see what was happening, and I wanted it to happen. But it was like something took me over and made me go through with what I wanted to do. Usually I try not to hurt Mun, even if she does hurt me. She's WAY smaller than me, and she's kinda weak too, so I try not to hurt her or accidentally sit on her or something.

But that day, I just couldn't take it anymore. She pulled my hair for the last time!
I was so mad. I've just about had enough of her these days. She's been so mean to me! I just wanted to show her what it was like to get picked on. And boy, did I!

You should have seen those pencils flying through the air! It was like I was a ninja with throwing stars. They were well-aimed, let me tell you what. One of the erasers got Mun in the stomach.

*Rhea laughs loudly about right here, remembering the moment*

It was TOO funny! She was so mad at me after that. I think she thought I was trying to hurt her. She flew off pretty fast, making angry faces at me.

Hey, she asked for it!

But, the best part is, I found out that I've got a new power. Mom calls it tele-kin-e-sis. Where I can pick up stuff with my mind and move it around. I've been trying to practice with it, but I can only do small stuff right now. I hope that one day I can lift myself up and move around that way

It'd be like I'm flying!

Well, I hope I didn't hurt Mun too bad. I'm sure her ego is bruised, but that's just fine with me. Maybe she'll stop messing with me...

Of Feien and Tales

Avitus didn't understand why his bonded insisted they get out of the Stationery Store and go to this... park. He frowned at the very thought of going to a location where people purposely gathered at.

"Why'd we go?" he demanded for the nth time since they've left.

Linneas sighed and kept his temper in check, it seemed Avi wasn't even going to try and have fun on this little trip. Truth be told Linneas felt it would help Avitus change his perspective on people coming together if he was around more of them. They didn't necessarily have to interact with him, they'd just have to be around them.

And the park seemed like a good idea at the time...

Munich looked bored, sitting atop Rhea's head indian style, her chin resting on a palm. "Are we almost there?" she asked, sighing. "What's this talk about a park?" The Feien huffed and tugged on a few strands of Rhea's hair in impatience.

Rhea swatted at the fairy perched on her head, not really wanting to hit her, but to just come close enough to scare her a bit. "Ouch!" she cried, feeling the sharp tug on a very few strands of hair. "Quit it! We're going to the park because I said so! Now stop pulling my hair and being mean. You're always at the HQ when I'm in town, and today, you're hanging out with me. You're my bond after all," she replied, figuring they should get to know each other eventually.

She turned her head to look around, wondering if anyone she knew would be there. Last time she came, she had met up with Tiwaz and Angelus, and had explored a music store. You just never knew what would happen when you were out and about, she figured.

"Home! Home! Home! Home!" Avitus repeatedly demanded of his bond upon arriving at the park. To his bonded's credit, Linneas had chosen a fairly secluded bench that was a good distance from where most of the people were.

"What? You want to live here? Or do you want to go home?" Linneas teased, hoping to get the Feien in a better mood. The Tale liked being in the park as it gave him a chance to relax and think about what he wanted to do. That and it also distracted him from those weird dreams...

"Well, I guess I'll just make the best of it," the Feien sighed, crossing one arm over the other defensively. "Maybe it could be a tiny bit of fun." Her downturned frown twitched, almost becoming a straight line...Would the mean little fairy decide to have some fun?

Munich looked around, and noticed a tall, red-haired boy sitting on a bench on the far side of the park, all by himself--or at least that's what she saw upon first glance. Squinting her eyes to see better in the bright sunlight, she noticed that the boy had a tiny creature with him...a creature that looked much like she did.

Suddenly getting excited, Munich stood up on Rhea's head and pointed toward the boy and the Feien. "Look! It's another Feien. Let's go talk to him!" she demanded, always curious about meeting new Feien.

"Well good, I'm glad you've decided to take a positive attitude toward our little adventure for the day. You never know who you'll meet," Rhea replied, smiling. Maybe today the little fairy would change her tune.

Seeing the boy as well, Rhea headed over to him, and the closer she got, the more familiar the boy's smell was. Could he be a Tale like her? No way! she thought. What an interesting chance meeting this may turn out to be. As she neared him, she waved. "Hi!" she said, walking over to the bench. "I think I should know you," she stuck out her hand for a proper handshake--of course. "I'm Rhea."

Avitus was beginning to relax when he spotted a figure approaching them. He tensed and his frown deepend to a scowl as he purposely turned his back to the approaching person. He didn't even bother to take the time to notice the figure had a Feien with her.

Linneas noticed the shift in weight on his shoulder, he had barely glanced at what Avi had done when a young girl just marched right up to him and introduced herself. She was a rather brave one, wasn't she?

'Think of it as a good thing, Linny. No one thinks you're a threat, because you're such a wuss.' Lynn snickered.

The teen ignored the voice.

"Really now?" Linneas smiled back as he accepted the proffered hand. "I'm Linneas, pleasure to meet you Rhea. Wait, Rhea... where have I heard that name before?" he wondered, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

Munich flew down from Rhea's head, and landed next to Avitus, slightly irritated that he hadn't acknowledged her presence. "Hello." She gave him a light tap on the shoulder, trying to encourage him to turn around. "I'm Munich. Who're you?" Munich loved meeting new Feien. The more audience she had, the better.

"Nice to meet you Linneas," the little Tale said, smiling up at him. He was quite a bit taller than she was--even taller than Angelus! But he smelled like a Tale...you could always smell them coming. "Well, I'm guessing you've heard my name around the Stationary Shop...Are you a Tale too? You certainly give off a familiar smell. But it's a good smell...not stinky at all!" She giggled, pleased to meet this new person. She wondered if the Feien he was with was his...

Avitus didn't even glance back despite Munich's efforts. In fact, he got up and flew over to Linneas' other shoulder, away from the other Feien.

"You'll have to forgive Avitus, he doesn't like being around anybody." Linneas apologized to Munich on the Feien's behalf. He did hope Avitus would eventually be a little more tolerant of other people's presence, and especially of other Feiens.

Linneas listened intently to Rhea's chatter, now he remembered. "Oh right, you're the Tale that Ning says likes to ask questions." he laughed, "And you can smell Tales? That's neat, I can only tell if something smells good or bad and everyone can do that."

Avitus' eyes widened as he heard Linneas say his name. No! Now the other Feien would know what to call him and won't stop pestering him now. His scowl deepened and he suddenly wished he had spurs on his feet so he could dig them in Linneas' shoulder. But he'd have to make to by telling him off once they get back.

Munich could not believe what was happening. Was the other Feien ignoring her? It couldn't be...She'd have to make him pay attention if he wasn't willing to do it himself.

Hearing the Feien's name spoken by his bonded, Munich smiled slyly to herself. This should be rather interesting...Avitus eh?

"Well, I guess he doesn't," she nodded, scowling over at the seemingly pouty Feien. "How can he even stand to be around you?" she inquired, honestly curious about Avitus' relationship with his bonded. For now, she'd give him a break. But she hoped the break wouldn't have to last too long...

Rhea just watched as the Feien with blue markings moved deliberately away from Munich. She couldn't help but stiffle a giggle. She wouldn't have wanted to be around Munich either. Good thing this kid could feel out the vibes before he got in too deep!

Looking at Linneas, Rhea smiled. "Yeah! I remember Ning! I met it when I first came out of the tome. I was pretty excited to be here, so I'm sure I bombarded Ning with far too many questions," she replied, looking down at her hands. "Well, I guess a lot of Tales can smell others like us. I know Jiro and Angelus can do it, and I can distinguish your smell faintly. I'm not so good at it as the boys are," she continued, nodding.

Avitus frowned simply because Munich was still there and talking to Linneas of all people!
"It's getting crowded." he declares, mismatched eyes glaring at Linneas, as if willing his bonded to get up and leave.

"I don't really know how Avi- ow!" Linneas yelped as he felt tiny nails dig into his neck. He rubbed the spot and glared back at the Feien, "I don't really know how Avitus can stand to be around me. But I'm guessing it's because he has no choice and I give him his space if he really needs and deserves it." Linneas shrugs.

He returns his attention to Rhea, "I saw Angelus just recently, he grew since the last time I saw him." he smiles findly at the mention of the younger Tale. "And Ning's fine, although she's a little wary of the younger Tales now." he adds with a laugh.

Linneas wasn't getting up? Why!? "Linneas, moooooove!!" he whined.

Munich giggled as she watched Avitus claw his bonded. They were so similar, she thought, smiling at the Feien with bicolored eyes. She was sure that they could be friends...if only he wasn't so--perpetually annoyed.

"Well, he sure does seem to enjoy torturing you," she commented. "Maybe he wouldn't do it so much if you did what he wanted..." Her small voice trailed off as she arched backward to take another glance at the Feien on Linny's other shoulder. Flying up and over to him, she hovered in the air next to him. "Avitus. Pleasure to meet you. You're difficult to talk to you know...Do you really not like other Feien?" And then, she followed up with a whisper, hands cupped around her mouth. "And do you like watching your bonded twitch in discomfort? I know I do." She said, giving him a smirk and a wink, and then flying over to Rhea's shoulder once again.

Rhea smiled at Linneas, nodding in understanding. "I get pinched by this one all the time," she said, pointing to the Feien that was now sitting atop her right shoulder, running her small fingers through her short purple hair. "Sometimes, she's not so nice, but I think we're getting used to each other...right Munich?"

Munich just shrugged. "I guess. They really didn't take me too seriously when I complained at the Fleet HQ. I guess we'll be together for awhile, so I've tried to let some of my anger go." She muttered something intelligible under her breath, and then rolled her eyes, looking bored.

"Hey, you can go whenever you want fairy girl. I think you like me, regardless of what you say." She turned to face Munich, and quickly gave her small poke in the back jokingly.

Turning back to Linneas, Rhea smiled as she heard Angelus' name mentioned. "Yeah, he's so BIG now! I couldn't believe it! I hope I grow soon too, so I can catch up to him. I feel so small now..." She looked down and blushed a bit, then quickly recovered. "Well, I hope I didn't scar Ning too much. I've tried to stop asking so many questions all at once. It's easier to spread them out while you're talking to someone," she said, nodding.

Avitus involuntarily twitched at the sudden proximity of Munich. Before he had time to move away, the other Feien headed off. All the better! He agreed to go to Gaia because he was informed there were less nosy Feien here than in the fleet.

At least that was as much as he could remember after the memory wipe.

He didn't miss his previous bond, not her personally. He did miss how she didn't seem bothered to leave him alone and give him his space. Unlike his current bonded. He frowned in annoyance at Linneas. Oh well, at least he listened to his complaints and tried to do something about it.

Why couldn't he have both? It just didn't seem fair.

"Yeah I don't like other Feien who don't know about distance." he states, the whining lilt still present in his voice.

"Are all Feien this... physical?" Linneas asked Rhea in a stage whisper. "We haven't been together long, only a few days really." he adds, "We'll get used to each other. Eventually. Probably.

"Anyway I'm sure you'll grow eventually, Rhea. And asking questions are a good thing, although I do agree that asking too many at once gets very confusing for the other person."

Avitus didn't seem to agree with Linneas and began to complain about the weather being too humid, the sun too bright, the grass too green. He seemed to be trying to convince Linneas that they leave the park. NOW.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to be working.

Munich just stared down the other Feien from her bond's shoulder in an attempt to give him the evil eye. If she had some hex magic right now, she certainly would have used it. "Well, I don't like unpleasant, nasty Feien who want to have nothing to do with anyone," she shouted from her bond's shoulder.

Crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes slitted as they remained focused on the other Feien. "And here I thought we could be friends! But all you do is whine and complain like a baby!" She'd had just about enough of this Feien.

Rhea just giggled as she watched Avi and Munich fight from the Tale's shoulders. Though Munich wanted to get along with everyone on the surface, Rhea knew she was just waiting to find a good target...And Avi seemed like the perfect specimen at this juncture. She could only imagine the nasty things Munich was plotting to do to Avi.

"Well, Mun here is pretty physical...She's big on magic too though...She's got two brothers and a sister too, and all four of them are pretty physical I think," she nodded, wondering how Linneas would ever be able to get along with Avi. "Well, good luck. I'm sure you'll get to know each other better soon enough. Mun still doesn't like me all that much," she said with a giggle.

"I've tried really hard not to ask too many questions at one time. I think I get better answers when I spread them out," she said, her chest puffing out as if she was proud of overcoming her annoying habit of questioning. "I know I'll grow eventually too...I guess it's just a matter of when." She paused, and then looked up at the teen again. "Wait, you look really old...How long have you been on Gaia? You must be one of the first of our kind."

From his vantage point on Linneas' shoulder Avitus glared back defiantly. It didn't matter to him what this other Feien thought nor did it seem to bother him that she didn't like him and was voicing out her opinion of him.

"I haven't hit you and you haven't hit me. Doesn't being friends mean being nice?" At least that was how Avitus defined being friends. "Linneas not friend, so I can hit." he shrugs, folding his arms across his chest.

Linneas sighed as Avitus explained himself, he often had to think over what the Feien said to really understand what the message was. So they weren't friends, were they? Somehow this relieved Linneas more than it should have.

"Yes, we're not friends because we're bonded." He supplied.

"Yah, that's what I said." The feien rolled his eyes, honestly his bonded could be so dense.

The Tale felt himself twitch at being called 'really old.' He wasn't really old! He wasn't even old! His mom was old, but he was a teenager. "I guess I am the first one of us who arrived in Gaia, but I'm not old." he frowned, his brows knitting together.

Munich just giggled as she watched Avitus turn away. She knew he wouldn't last under her stern gaze. She was amused to hear that hitting his bonded was being compared to killing him. Though Munich might not have liked her bonded, she certainly wouldn't think of killing her.

"I know you don't kill him," Rhea retorted. "But it's still not nice to hit other people! How would you feel if Linneas hit you?" she asked, genuinely curious. Did he have any cares for himself or others?

The sudden strange outburst startled Rhea a bit, and she let out a nervous giggle. "Yeah, I doubt he'll be able to do much to you at all," she said, nodding at the redhead. "My mom's name is Elysia. She's kinda tallish...with curly silver hair and big blue eyes. Next time we come to the Stationary Shop and you're there, I'll introduce you to her. She's really nice to me."

"Linneas won't hit, Linneas can't hit." Avitus shrugged, "You hit Munich?" Avitus asked, eyeing the other Feien curiously.

At hearing his bonded speak, Avitus quirked a brow. It didn't sound quite like Linneas, but it was still Linneas wasn't it?

"My mom's name is Huni. I'm a little taller than she, and we have the same red hair. Her eyes aren't gold like mine, they're jade green." Linneas described, "And I'm sure I'll like her as well." he smiled. "I'll introduce you to my mom, or maybe she's met you already?"

Rhea just giggled. "No, I don't hit her! I may swat at her every now and then, but she knows better, and moves before my hand can touch her." She laughed again, looking over to Munich, who had managed to crack a smile for her bond. "I'm just saying...If you hit Linneas enough, he may just get mad and hit you right back. I'm just giving you a warning for next time..." she continued, hoping that Avi would learn something from this meeting.

"Huni. Mmm...I'll have to remember that for when I meet her. She'll be surprised if I know her name already! Wow, you and your mom must look a lot alike. It sounds like it at least. I'lll be pleased to be introduced to her next time I see you. I dunno. I don't think I've seen her in the shop before...just Ning."

Munich had been to the Stationary Shop once, but the visit hadn't been very long. Every time Munich met other Tales, they were out and about in town, or at the park, or the fountain...She wondered if she'd met the woman they were talking about...

See? What was there to worry about? If the little Tale didn't hit her Feien, why would Linneas ever hit him? Avitus nodded to himself in self-satisfaction. His thoughts turned to Huni, what did he think of the female red head?

"Oh she will be very interested to find out how you know her name." Linneas chuckled, "Ning might have told her about you, but mom has a very weird memory." he chuckled awkwardly, it was true, Huni had the bad habit of forgetting people's names and faces.

Munich was starting to get a bit agitated, and she wondered if she could fly off for awhile to explore the park by herself. She hadn't really hit it off with Avitus, and she figured her time could be spent better elsewhere. Perhaps it was time to check out the HQ again. Last time she was there, she had met the Inquisitor and another Feien, so perhaps this time, there would be others to meet.

"Rhea, I think i want to go to the HQ. Can I go?" she asked, using her sweet voice to gain favor with her bond.

"I'm sure she'll wonder," Rhea replied to Linneas, a sly grin crossing her face. "We can trick her! Well, unless Ning told her...But if she's got a bad memory, I'll bet she won't remember me."

Hearing the Feien speak softly in her ear, Rhea's head whipped around, a little taken off-guard. The whisper had given her ear a tickle, and she'd practically jumped out of her seat. "Oh gosh, it's just you! You scared me for a second there Mun," she paused, thinking about the request. "No, I don't think I want you to go to the HQ today...We're having a nice time here with Linneas and Avi...You can just stay and hang out with us."

"Oh fine," she said, sighing as she sat back down on Rhea's shoulder, facing her neck this time. She acted nonchalant as one small hand reached out to Rhea's exposed flesh, fingers readied for a hearty pinch...

Avitus felt his thoughts being interrupted every so often because of Rhea and Munich. Why couldn't they keep it down? He frowned, "Linneas when we go?" he whined, wings flapping irritatedly.

"Oh come on, not you too." Linneas pursed his lips in mild annoyance. It wasn't often that he got to interact with other Tales. And this one had a Feien as well. "How long has Munich been living with you and your mom?"

"No call me Avi!" The Feien declared, stamping his foot on Linneas' shoulder.

Munich quickly executed her pinch, causing both she and Rhea to jump a bit in reaction. But Munich recovered quickly, laughing heartily as she jumped up and flew away from Rhea, prepared for the swatting that she would most likely receive. "I got you!" she exclaimed, laughing heartily as she hovered in mid-air, staying just far enough way to prevent any sort of slap by Rhea.

Rhea scowled at Munich, rubbing her neck, trying to get the feeling to go away. "That wasn't very nice!" she exclaimed, jumping up to swat at the feien who was now flying through the air, much faster than Rhea could catch her. "You need to learn not to do that to me! I don't care if you're angry...There are other ways to show your frustration!" Rhea and Munich were definitely quite the pair...

As Rhea gave up on chasing Mun around the park, she plopped back down on the bench, giving Linneas a half-hearted smile, the red welt on her neck still flaring.

"Sorry about that...Sometimes she makes me really angry." She paused, thinking about how long Munich had lived with them. "Well, I think Mun's only been with me a month or two now...She's still pretty new to me. I'm not quite sure why they picked her for me...because well, we're not very much alike."

She turned to Avi, and decided to tease him a bit. The feien really needed to learn how to lighten up. "No? Call you Avi? Well, haven't I been calling you that? What, don't you like it? Is there something else that you'd rather I call you?" she asked, still a bit confused about the feien's speech pattern.

The Feien rolled his eyes, "Avitus." he stated simply, was it too difficult for them to understand that he didn't like being given nicknames? He saw no point to it, hence he never called Linneas "Linny" despite hearing nearly everyone else in the house address him as such.

Linneas suppressed a laugh as he watched bonded and Feien interact. Although he knew it would hurt to be pinched, especially since Avi had recently taken to scratching.

"It's been only a few days since Avitus arrived, and I don't know why we became bonded either. I do remember filling out a form, but that's it basically. Avitus isn't as agreeable as I expected."

"Well, Avitus it is then," Rhea said, looking at the Feien and nodding, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. He was a mighty particular juvenile...Rhea hoped that for Linneas' sake, he'd be a bit more open-minded about meeting other feien in the future.

"A few days huh? Well, I don't know how Mun bonded to me either. I don't even remember filling out a form. Mom told me that she signed me up, but maybe she didn't fill out my personality information well enough. Munich is definitely nothing like me."

She gave Linny a tired grin. "Well, I hope the two of you can learn to get along better. You never know..."

Munich had taken to flitting around the low branches of the tree they were sitting under, exploring the leafy green underbelly of the foliage.

Avitus decided to leave the two to their conversation. He'd have enough 'company' for the day and hopped off Linneas' shoulder.

"Where are you off to?" The Tale asked, noticing Avitus' departure.

"Over there." He declared, pointing towards some nearby flowers. It seemed so much more peaceful there.

"Yeah, I'm giving Avitus his space as much as I can. But I can't help but worry for him, you know? It's not good to stay cooped up all the time. What do you do for fun?"

"Well, now that they're gone..." she commented, laughing a bit. "Boy, I never thought having a fairy as a familiar would be so hard! Both Avi and Munich are pretty hard to get along with. But at least I know there's someone else out there suffering along with me," she gave Linneas a knowing smile, and a quick tap on the shoulder.

"I take Mun pretty much everywhere with me. I know she hates it, but she comes anyway. I can't help but think she likes me just a little bit." Shifting in her seat, she pulled her legs up onto the bench so she could sit indian-style, her dress covering her lap and now folded legs. "Well, I guess I do lots of stuff for fun. I read a lot of books, and I hang out with my friends. Not too long ago I went to the music store with Angelus and Ti--," she paused. "Who's my best friend. She likes to sing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. We like to think about the adventures we'll go on when we grow up. Right now, we're working on a plan for if we ever need disguises," she stated matter-of-factly.

The Feien settled down peacefully on top of some fallen petals. Their aroma was calming, relaxing and it was genuine flowers not the artificial sort he remembered seeing in the shop. Apparently no one in the shop knew how to garden!

"Avitus rarely goes with me unless I threaten to leave him with Paestri." Linneas chuckled, never really believing he could use his sweet little sister as a threat. "Oh you've met Angel?" he smiled, recalling having met the Tale. "But who's Ti? I might have met her but I don't remember." he says sheepishly.

"Disguises eh? You planning to be spies?"

Munich squeaked from high in the tree. She'd been sitting on a high limb, watching the goings on below. She was still pissed about Avitus not wanting to talk to her. She had come to the conclusion that he was rude, and really, who would want to be friends with someone like that anyway! She'd be glad to give him his space, she thought, an angry frown on her face.

It was then that she saw the caterpillar, and practically fell off the branch. It had crept up slowly, but Munich hadn't realized it until it was right up on her. "Eek!" she squeaked as she tumbled backward away from the bug. It looked even bigger close up. Fluttering over to another branch, she watched as the caterpillar posted up on its hind feet, wiggling out toward her as if it wanted to follow her.

"Paestri? Your sister has a really interesting name...Is she a Tale too?" she asked. She hadn't met any Tales that had a brother or sister who was also a Tale. There was Angelus and Jiro, but they weren't really brothers, even if they now shared the same blood.

"Angel? He lets you call him that?" she giggled. "Next time I see him, maybe I'll try it out. Angelus was the first Tale that was really nice to me. I like him a lot," she said, nodding furiously. And she did. Rhea was very fond of Angelus.

"Oh, Ti! Her real name's Tiwaz. She's a Tale like us. She was actually the Tale born right after me. She's got long hair like mine, but it's a nice shade of purple. And she has eyes like me too! She also has cool wings. They're black and look like a bat's wings, and they have silver markings all over them."

She paused to take a breath, and giggled at Linneas' question. "Not spies...we just want to travel around and see the world! And you never know when you'll need a good disguise. I already know that the world isn't as easy to get along in as it seems..."

Avitus had his mismatched eyes closed, deeply breathing in the scent of the flowers. He was beginning to fall asleep, and the thought that Linneas wouldn't know where he was didn't even cross his mind.

"Paestri's not a Tale, she's actually a Legend. Or at least that's what my mom says." Linneas grinned. He nodded attentively as Rhea described her friends with great enthusiasm. Rhea was a little bundle of energy wasn't she?

"Tiwaz eh? I think I saw her before, but briefly. And I know what you mean about the world." he sighed, "But traveling would be nice, I just don't think I'll be doing much of that though." he adds with a small chuckle.

Finally able to rest, Munich watched as the caterpillar gave up trying to get her, and wandered off, munching on a leaf a few branches over. She sighed and looked down at her bonded, who looked like she was enjoying herself. God, they were going to be here forever! If only the other Feien was more socialble. They'd be having a grand time right now if that were the case. She was sure of it.

"Aaah, she's a Legend? Mom's mentioned something about them before, but I haven't really heard much. How did they come about?" she asked, wondering if these babies just magically appeared in a cloud of smoke. If she could come out of a book, she was sure there were other crazy ways of delivering children.

"No travelling for you? How come?" she asked, curious as to why someone wouldn't travel, even if they wanted to.

Avitus was snoozing very, very peacefully by now. Sleep was one of the few things that he did like, although he wasn't about to admit it to anyone other than himself. However, he also overlooked the fact that he was currently vulnerable and helpless to any outside force...

"Mmm, mom says Paestri was found in an old abandoned bakery wrapped around an apron." Linneas mused, finding it rather amusing in itself. "And as for travelling, I don't really know myself. It's like I'm tied to the shop by invisible strings. I mean I can go places, like the park or the cafe but eventually I'll feel a strong pull to come back."

Looking around boredly, Munich spotted Avitus sleeping on a pile of fallen petals, not too far from where she was sitting in the tree. Devious thoughts instantly crossed her mind. The Feien had not been friendly at ALL, and the cruel little voice in the back of her head taunted her.

Muuuuunnnnich...Go get 'em! You know you want tooooo... It called to her, teasing her. Generally, she was more than happy to please the whispering voice, but this time, she wasn't so sure if she should.

Fluttering off of her branch, Munich flew quietly over to where the other Feien was resting, pondering her next move.

"In an abandoned bakery? Were her parents bakers?" she asked, thinking that Paestri had been left behind as her parents fled the bakery. "Very strange," she said, thinking out loud. "Huh. I wonder if the pull you feel toward the store has something to do with you being the first Tale...It could be," she said, giving the redhead a curious look.

"Bakers? Maybe, Pae does seem attracted to baked goods. Mom doesn't know any myth or legend involving baking though." Linneas laughed. "And I guess that is a good reason why I get drawn back." he nods.

Avitus' wings stirred slightly, but didn't seem to wake. He shifted his position, snuggling against the petals.

Rhea looked lost in thought. "Yeah, I can't think of a myth involving bakers or baked goods either," she said with a grin. "Maybe she's making her own legend instead," she offered. "Well, it's too bad you can't go too far from the store--but I guess if you're happy with being close by, well, that's all that's important."

The fairy slowly crept up on the sleeping Avitus, watching his every move. She was observing so intently that when his wings twitched, Munich jumped a bit. As soon as he settled back down, getting comfortable with the petals, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Once she was absolutely sure that he was asleep soundly, she crept up on him, hovering right above him, just at arms length. Instead of really attacking him, like she was temped to do, she reached out and gave him a tickle in the side, then shouted. "BOO!"

Immediately, she flew up and away, just waiting for the angry Feien to come after her.

Avitus had been happilly snoozing when he was rudely awakened by tickles and a shout. He practically leapt up in shock, his heart pounding in his chest. Mis-matched eyes scanned his surroundings and saw Munich fly away.

The nerve of her!

He furrowed his brows and flew after the Feien. "What's your problem!?" he yells.

"Having a place to come home to is nice, and I can't think of anything better than knowing that it'll be there when I get back." Linneas nods. He hears something, a high-pitched squeak that is very familiar. He turns towards the source and see Avitus flying after Munich. "It looks like Avi decided to make a friend."

Hearing Avitus shout from behind her, Munich's face plastered itself into a smile, and she flew up high in the air, wondering how high the other Feien's stamina was...If she could just get far enough away, she could prevent reprecussion.

"What's that!?" she shouted back at him. "I can't hear you very well! Did you say you were rude...and an a**? Because that's what I thought I heard," she said, giggling to herself. She'd probably gotten herself in trouble, but oh well, at least they were now having fun...even if it was at Avi's expense.

Munich swooped over to where Rhea and Linneas were still sitting, and she came to a screeching halt on Rhea's had, mussing her hair up as she came in for a quick landing.

"Rhea! Help me! He's coming to get me!" She put on a look of nervousness for her bonded, and lept down onto her shoulder, hiding in Rhea's curly locks. She'd get away with this yet...

Before all hell could break loose, Rhea was having a pleasant time talking to Linny. She was surprised she hadn't met him before. "Yeah, it is nice to know that home is always there waiting for you," she agreed with a nod. Looking up at sky, she saw Avitus chasing Munich down, and in seconds, her Feien was hiding among strands of hair, much like a weakling.

"Well, I'm not sure if they're going to be friends," she said with a giggle. "Avitus looks pretty upset."

The insults didn't seem to bother Avitus, he didn't care what others thought about him, it was more of the fact that Munich woke him up from his nap!

"It better'n being a nasty little tick!" He shot back. He had almost caught up to her, if he only had a little more stamina. He had to rest for a moment before resuming the chase.

Linneas was enjoying the conversation with Rhea and had wished they had met sooner. Noticing the commotion, albeit it was small given the Feiens' size, Linneas frowned at seeing what his Feien had done. Or rather what he thought his Feien had done.

"Avitus, what are you doing?" he demands, intercepting the juvenile from attacking Rhea's hair.

"What? No! She started it!" The Feien screamed, pointing an accusing finger at Munich. Needless to say Avitus was pissed.

"Avi, stop blaming others for your own actions." The Tale scolded, why was the little Feien so... nasty?

"But I ain't done it!" He whined with a stamp of his foot.

"Well, ticks like to eat blood, and I know I don't like blood, so I'm probably not a tick!" she reasoned, shouting back to him. "I may be nasty though...but I like being nasty!" She stuck her tongue out at him while peeking out between waves of silver hair.

"Mun! What are you doing?!" Rhea exclaimed, giving her Feien a rather dissatisfied look. "Have you been messing with Avitus?" she asked, making sure to use his full name, even though she was temped to shorten it.

"What'd make you think that?" she asked, putting on her sweetest, most innocent voice for Rhea. "I wouldn't hurt a flea!"

Looking to Avi and Linneas, she turned back to Munich with a stern look. "You'd better apologize. Here I am, trying to have a nice time, and you're causing trouble!" She turned to Linny and Avi. "I"m sorry guys. Munich says she didn't do it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that she's the culp--"

She was interrupted by a sharp pain emanating from her neck. "OWW! Mun! You'd better be flying away right now!" she warned, swatting at the Feien with the back of her hand.

"You asked for it!" Munich exclaimed, her tiny fingers quickly unpinching the skin of Rhea's neck as she moved to avoid the half-hearted swat. "I can't believe you ratted me out!" she said, shouting into Rhea's ear.

"Then you ain't no good then!" Avitus snarled at the other Feien, folding his arms across his chest. Though whether it was because Munich didn't like blood or that she enjoyed being nasty, it was difficult to tell. Avitus was never very good at expressing his ideas clearly. He huffed and flew sit atop Linneas' head, that damn Munich wouldn't dare try anything while he was on Linneas' head.

"Oh dear, Avitus couldn't you have at least tried to make friends with Munich? She did try being nice to you when they got here." Linneas frowned, peering up at his Feien.

"No, no, I'm sure Avitus must have said something that made Munich angry. I'm really sorry about that and owch!" He winced, his hand instantly flying to the source of the stinging pain.

Avitus had yanked a strand of his bonded's hair out. What on Gaia made Linneas think he deserved being woken from his nap?! He took no satisfaction in hurting his bonded, he just wanted to make a point that Linneas was not to apologize for something he didn't do. He flew away in time, avoiding being trapped beneath Linneas' hand.

"Well, whoever said I was good!?" she retorted, snapping right back at Avi. If he wanted to fight, she was more than down to do it. She watched as Avi pulled a strand of hair from Linneas' head, and almost wanted to clap for him. Finally, he was showing signs of having similar interests!

"You're right Mun. No one ever said you were good..." she agreed, nodding. She rubbed her neck with her hand, hoping to feel the sting dissipate. For some reason, the little Feien had quite the finger grip! "Well, just about everything makes her angry, so I'm not surprised. Maybe we should just keep them separate from now on," she said with a grin. "It's too bad they can't seem to enjoy each other...I was having such a nice time talking to you Linneas!"

Avitus rolled his eyes at Munich, he hadn't meant that sort of good. Honestly, everyone was completely dense.

"Home. Now." he demanded, hovering beside Linneas' ear. If needed be he'd yell into it to prove a point.

Linneas sighed in annoyance, "Mun seems to be a lot better at making friends than Avitus is."

He sneaks the male Feien a quick glare before facing Rhea again. "Yeah, I think it's for the best. For all of us." he adds with a chuckle. "And I think I should be going back, Avitus seems to have had his fill of the park for today."

It was quite evident in Linneas' eyes he wanted to stay longer and talk, however he knew if he did stay Munich and or Avitus might become physical with each other. The last thing the Tale wanted was the two Feiens hitting each other.

Munich just stuck her tongue out at him again, watching him roll his eyes at her. She was temped to give him the finger--a gesture she had learned from Elysia not long ago. Rhea didn't know that Munich knew about such foul gestures, and it was probably better that way.

Glad to hear that he was ready to depart, Munich made the same demand. "Yeah, that Avi guy sucks," Munich said, whispering into Rhea's ear so no one else could hear. Can we go home? PUHLEEZE??"

"Well, I'm not so sure about that," Rhea said, giggling. "She does like to make friends, but they need to be careful of her attitude. You can't press the wrong buttons..."

Rhea gave Munich a scare, shrugging her shoulder so that she was almost falling off of it. "I guess you're probably right though Linneas. It'd be better if a fight didn't break out." She nodded, in definite agreement. "But I'll have to come see you at the Shop again. You don't leave much eh? I'll definitely come visit sometime! And I'll leave Mun at the Feien HQ or something...Or she can stay home--whatever. It was lovely to meet you Linny," she said, slipping into a nickname for him.

About damn time! Avitus would have cheered and clapped in triumph but he didn't think it was worth the effort. Instead he made himself comfortable on Linneas' shoulder and stuck his tongue out back at Munich.

"Well if you do end up bringing Munich, I could always lock the door to Avitus' room." Linneas laughs, knowing very well how much Avi had wanted to lock the door to his room since he arrived. "It's been wonderful meeting you, Rhea." he adds.

Munich didn't even bother looking back at the angry fairy with funny hair and bicolored eyes. They'd meet again some day, she was sure of it...and next time, things might not go as well, she thought to herself, beginning to work out a plot in her mind.

"That would be funny!" Rhea exclaimed with a laugh. "Let's hope he doesn't mind too much--but I kinda doubt it."

"Nice to meet you too Linny! I hope to see you again sometime soon. Then we can actually talk more!" she added. Rhea loved meeting new Tales and learning all about them. Even the Tale she had clashed with most at the beginning was now her best friend. Funny how things work out, eh?

With that, she waved at both of them, and strode off through the park, back toward Gambino. It was almost dinner time, and she was hungry. "Mun, didn't you have any fun?"

The Feien laughed. "Of course I had fun! I got to bother that little imp until he was ready to be rid of me!" She broke out into hilarious laughter, occasionally hiccupping through it. "He would have been a good partner in crime, but I think I just like torturing him far too much!"

"Well, maybe next time will be better?" she asked, half not wanting to hear an answer as she shrugged her shoulders. "I hope you'll be on your best behavior during our second meeting. Okay, Miss Rude-y Two Shoes?!"

The Quest: Part 1, the Bookstore
Diary/Narrative 15

Elysia held Rhea's hand as they walked down the street toward their destination. They had come to Durem to check out a couple of stores. Elysia wanted to get Rhea some special birthday presents, and Durem seemed to have all the stores she was looking for.

First up was the bookstore. Rhea loved books, and so Elysia knew she'd have a great time rummaging through the shelves, looking for her new favorites.

"Okay Rhea, we're finally here," Elysia said, looking down at her daughter with a wide smile. "Happy Birthday, again!"

With that, she pushed the door of the shop open, and ushered Rhea into the store, pointing to the back where they children's books were. "Why don't you go check out the children's section, and see if there aren't a few things you'd like to read."

The little psion ran off toward the back of the store. She knew exactly where the books she could read were. She'd been to the place many times, and Elysia always seemed more than happy to buy her the books she wanted. Her mother believed in teaching children how to read early in life, and Rhea seemed to eat up all literature that she could get her hands on -- as long as it was easy enough to get through, of course.

As she skimmed the shelves, she pulled a few books down, interested in what they were about.

The first was a book that she'd already seen the movie for. But Rhea was convinced that books were always better than movies. Movies didn't do books justice most of the time. For this reason only, she picked up 'Eloise' and tucked it under one arm.

The second book she picked was one she just liked the look of. The cover was what attracted her attention most, and as she read the back of the book, she thought it'd be an easy and fun read. Adding it to the first book under her arm, she moved on to search another shelf of books, this time, for a bit older age group.

It was there that she found a book she'd been wanting since she'd gotten to Gaia. Elysia always told her these fairy tales, but she believed there was more to the stories than her mother could remember. Pulling the thick tome from the shelf, she now had to carry the pile of books in both hands. She balanced the thick storybook on her arms, and headed off to find Elysia. She was finally satisfied, and now had PLENTY to read. For a little while at least.
