"Presitgious mutant found dead in home". The article caught her eye and Aki clicked the link and skimmed through it. Died of hypothermia, presumably a week before. Nothing unusual about it, got caught in a blizzard. "Not at all strange. Least the weather made my life easier." she muttered, sighing. She closed the window and stood up quickly from the chair at the computer. She stopped, forcing herself to relax. "Relax, breathe. Stop getting so..." she trailed off, sighing as she realized she was talking to herself, again. She grabbed the notebook from the desk, pushing her hair out of her face for the thousandth time. She sat down on the couch, back against the armrest. She started writing again, further detailing what she'd been looking up. Researching various mutant activities, trying to find connections and to see what the media knew, to see if anything known was being kept secret or if there was enough information to tell anyone else about what was being done. If anyone had connected the various deaths she'd been responsible for.
Aki sighed, leaning against the back of the couch. He would be back soon, as long as he didn't forget. He only had a couple times though, everything else had been because he couldn't leave to meet her. She cringed at the memory, still regretting blowing up at him for forgetting to get her. He hadn't even done anything, he'd had a reason, but she still had lashed out. Her temper had only gotten worse in the past few years, and she hated it. Not being in control... It was horrible, but she hadn't been able to keep herself calm. Especially right after one of her missions. They got to her more than she ever let on, but she wouldn't tell them. She was one of the only ones willing to kill, especially when not in self-defense. She pushed the thoughts away, letting her eyes shut. She'd just rest for a minute, then she'd finish. Or accidentially sleep until Huilliame got back, as it worked out.

Candice stopped laughing and smiled at Will, he still confused her. "Not having very much luck with that huh?" She shut her eyes and nodded. "I am not gay, at least I don't think." She made a slightly timid face and stood up. "How long, are you going to be here?" She looked over and saw Matthew playing and smiled. "I can get you Logan and Hulliame's information if you'd li-" She heard a beep and removed her cellphone. "Oh, there's been an incident at the museum and assigned me for pictures. When my son is in town too."

Mal munched on her food while the other two spoke. That was true. The higher-ups were pretty full of themselves, even if everyone had the same general philosophy on the mutants v.s. humans ratio. "Nevermind that they keep sending people on random missions... There was one last night that I don't even know what was about. Even the guys who went on it weren't allowed to say what it was about."
Mal pressed the fork to her bottom lip for a moment, thinking, before she irritably grumbled, "I could've done it. I haven't done anything in the past week!" while skewering some noodles mercilessly.

"I definitely know where you're coming from on this one, I mean I guess we're doing our organization's title justice" Fulgrim let out an uneasy laugh, "But on a less serious note, let's find something that can alleviate our boredom, I'm open to absolutely any suggestion that takes us out of this godforsaken bunker" He stretched, his jacket making a slight stressed squak as the leather rubbed against the walls, It might be fun to go out with these two, they seem less dour than usual today

"Heh?" Will agreed. Yes, he was still single, and playing both sides of the coin probably had something to do with it. However, he hadn't really felt himself compelled toward anyone in particular yet. He was not gay, and his mother knew that. She had threatened him that if he didn't start looking soon, she would start finding ladies and introducing them to him. Quite obviously, Will did not wish that that to happen.
Unlike Candice, Will did not have Logan and Hulliame's contact info. He only knew that they worked for the U.N.
"Oh?" Musuem. Of course they have musuems, this is a city after all... If Candice had a job and it took priority over her son, Will supposed he had no choice and might as well be a good Samaritan. "I'll be here for about a week until after my performance is over. I can look after Matthew for a bit if you need to go." The only problem was that Will did not know the city very well.

"We could try and do something normal mutants and humans would do, like going to the park." Illyena suggested. She could bare being around humans since she had trained herself to be outwardly tolerant of them -though she truly didn't mind the the few humans that had joined Deceit-, but if they ever said anything bigotry towards mutants she usually snapped, though that didn't happen often in the city, since humans came here knowing full well the city was inhabited by mutants. "It would be better to sit around doing nothing outside where there's fresh air rather than in here."

"I couldn't leave Matthew alone though... For all I know... You could be pretending to be William but you're acctually some kidnapper?" She was being completely serious although her face could say otherwise. "I would take Matthew with me, but sadly it's on a murder. I don't want to expose my son to this kind of stuff." Candice did have Hulliame and Logan's contact info but she hadn't seen them in several years so chances are a lot has gone on. She didn't want to leave Matthew with William since he was her friend whom she had not seen in several years as well. "Uhm....." Her big eyes looked very confused and it seemed as if she had the choices above her head because she kept looking back and forth between three spots.

Kidnapper? What is she, paranoid? Who would want to impersonate me? Will entertained the thought inside his head. It made sense though, since they hadn't seen each other for a long time. "Ah..." I haven't resorted to anything as low as kidnapping yet...
Candice now looked very confused and worried, and Will sighed. "Can you ask them to send someone else and tell them that you're with your son and that it doesn't happen too often?"

Candice nodded her head. Maybe she could get some one else to do it. Or do it later today when her mother came to pick Matthew up at the air port. "Good Idea I suppose, I am already busy on a project right now." She smiled at Will and Matthew. "Oh, by the way, have you heard the news lately? There has been a lot of riots over us mutants. I don't even know what we did wrong. It doesn't seem like Tess do something like that. Even if he did, we all shouldn't be held account for it." Candice had taken the subject and pulled it off the tracks. She was curious about Will's opinion.

Will nodded slowly and answered succinctly with sincerity. "I agree. However, I think everyone is running on emotions right now, so it is not likely that they will see through the fog. The best way to overcome it is evidence, which is lacking..." The musician grinned. "He isn't around right now, so I can say this. He's fluffy! How could he truly do it?" So, Candice and he shared the same opinion.
Back in high school days, Will had not known that Tess overreacted to being called "fluffy." The word had almost come out of his mouth, when another student dragged him backward and told him later that Tess had a peeve when it came to the word.
Will pet his cellphone vibrating in his pocket, but he ignored it. It was his day off after all.
(DTT, if that statement about Tess is wrong, I can change it.))

Candice put her hand on ehr stomach and started to laugh. She leaned forward slightly and shut her eyes. "Wow, Will... I forgot how funny you were... Fluffy?! " She laughed even harder, she wiped a tear from her eyes and stopped. Matthew climbed up onto Candice's lap and sat quietly with a bored look in his eyes. She put her hand on his head and smiling petting his bushy black hair. "Tess just doesn't seem like he'd kill a guy, there is a lot of people I know from Pacis, but Tess is one of the few that I wouldn't expect to kill a guy. But really, I wish everyone one would calm down. Almost everyone had a friend who became a mutant. A lot of people didn't have a problem until they knew about it. For instants most people I work with don't know I am a mutant so they treat me normal. But when they hear the word mutant they go crazy."

Mounting the bike outside, Huilliame accidentally pressed the wrong stud, bringing out the rebreather function, then his battle helmet. On the third time he got the motorcycle helmet and set off back., Traffic in the rush hour was frustrating normally, but he still managed to weave in and out of cars. At the building he signed his bike and weapons back in and headed up to the office. His was the only desk that was occupied all year round it seemed. Pulling out the preliminary investigation form, he put in the needed data. Name of victim based on identification, important details of scene.... he got bored of the office hum and plugged in his desk mp3 player and started up Bruce Springsteen. The familiar strains of "Jungleland" started playing while he worked.

((I'm ba-ack!))
Sam took a quick glance around the park as he entered, looking for any familiar faces. Amy had given him the idea to take their daughter, Alwyn, somewhere, away from the house. "It would make for a good change of scenery," she had said, "and things have been getting kind of dull."
After a moment, the Empath caught sight of a pair of his former classmates, not far from the fountain. He turned to his wife to say, "Follow me, my dear. I think Alwyn might enjoy some friendly company."
"What," Amy replied, a playful twinkle in her eye, "we're not friendly company?"
"Of course we are, but she sees us every day." Shifting his daughter into a more comfortable position, he greeted his old friends with a smile and a wave. "Oi, Candice! How's it going? We haven't heard from you in a while!"

As Candice talked to Will she heard a familiar voice and turned her head to see Sam. He had a woman and a kid with him so she was guessing he was married and had a family. Her eyes lit up and she smiled. "Sam?" She stood up and pulled Matthew up into her arms. "It's great to see you, oh, and william is here too." She was happy to run into some old friends. She hadn't seen them all in a long time and it was odd they all seemed to show up at once.

Sam chuckled quietly. "It's great to see you as well," he said, waving to Will. "I don't believe I've introduced you to the family, have I? This is my lovely wife, Amy."
Amy bowed and said, "It's nice to finally meet you. Sam told me about you way back during his time at Pacis Salus."
"And this," Sam added, indicating the young child in his arms, "is my daughter, Alwyn. Isn't she sweet? Anyway, how have you been? Not too busy, I hope. And who's that young'un you got there?"
