As soon as Kallisto gave her assent, Grave's soft hand came up and clasped hers as he sank into a bow and pressed his lips to her knuckles. And then he rose smiling up at her and he led her smoothly to a spot on the floor where they could dance. He continued to hold her hand in his and stepped in, letting his other rest just above the swell of her hip and kept his gaze on her face, all sparkling charm. "Well, Kallisto, here we find ourselves, dancing." The depth of meaning and feeling in his clear eyes grew a little more open than Grave normally allowed of his Melancholic countenance. The twist of his smile developed the slightest hint of wistful longing and he looked into her eyes to see if she too was feeling the pangs of lonliness. He didn't say the words he was thinking, as he didn't want to spoil the evening, but Grave was Grave - curious and analytical as always. He wondered how much of what was hidden in his own heart beat likewise in hers. He'd seen less and less of his lovers since he'd Transcended to a One, and two of the three were still but Zeroes. Torrid had gone off on dangerous hunting missions and Grave almost never saw him anymore. Mathiaz was near to transcending, and so was Ubel, but until they did he didn't really see them much. Both had taken to tutoring rather than the old fashioned method of studying in his Library, and that was really his only place of crossing paths with them. Grave knew Kallisto had only one love, that gardener Yambati. Grave didn't know the man well, but he'd heard that he'd gone into seclusion and left Kallisto on her own. Curious that they two should be dancing together and all their loves absent or gone. Grave exhaled a silent, subtle sigh and let himself draw closer in their dance, his swaying hip brushing against hers. His hands both grew softer, less formal, and he gave her hand a warm squeeze. What was that phrase? When all else falls apart, at least you have your friends...

She smiled and nodded, gaze caught in his. Her smile straightened out slightly, as she recognized that look.... the emptiness and loneliness that coiled in your stomach and refused to be moved by thought or action. She was still raw around the edges from Yambati's abandonment but the wounds her healing as she found she could stand on her own. She'd never been good at hiding her thoughts and feelings and they flickered across her face, first recognition, then pain and finally worry. She didn't worry about herself, she knew she could face down the world if she needed to, but worry for Grave. What had brought on the melancholy she saw in his heart?
Stepping closer as well, she drew him into a protective embrace that still resembled the stance of a dance as she set aside her own demons for but a few moments, "Grave... What's troubling you?" She spoke softly, almost whispering into his ear, voice filled care and concern - Kallisto would not let her closest friend suffer in silence.

Grave kept his gaze locked with hers even as she asked the question full out. His smile deepened and he raised his eyebrows the slightest fraction. "Do you think all of our learning is transient?" Grave asked, his voice slow and rich. "I keep thinking I've found something to be my foundation, my centre of gravity, and then I find it all drifting out from me once I've come to understand it. I almost feel like some sort of succubus, drawing the essence from things to feed my curiosity, to further my study of life and emotion and people... But in doing so, Kallisto...do you think it supplants the growing with someone? Must one come at the cost of the other?" Grave's open expression darkened by the slightest of traces, his fine brows drawing together into a contemplative frown. And yet, all the while this heavy discussion grew, Grave's dancing remained light and graceful. Wound up in Kallisto's embrace, he in turn let his hand slide across the small of her back, his other drawing her hand up to his mouth as he lightly brushed a kiss across her fingers. To any watching, Grave looked ever bit the lover, and his conversation would have seemed a complete juxtaposition had it been audible to those around them.

Her immediate reaction was to say yes, that you could not find a medium between the two. But, as she fought down the impulse and thought for a few moments, hips swaying in time to Grave's step she sighed heavily. "I don't think it's true in every case... He..." And she bit her lip and waited a moment for the sting to subside so she could speak her mind, "He... left me to find religion. For Yambati... I think one meant the sacrifice of the other. But for some, the learning ties them closer together... a single spot about which everything turns - a friendly face and a welcome sparring partner." Kallisto smiled at Grave and lifted a hand to tussle his hair lightly, "If what is important to you is drifting, call it back. Act and don't think too much because if you wait too long, it will be gone." She'd tried to be understanding, thoughtful... had kept her worries to herself and it had ended up with her being left alone. Kallisto still wondered if there wasn't anything /more/ she could have done.
Fingers laced into his hair then, as the sanguine offered a smile full of tenderness, "And if everything falls to pieces, I'll still be here. You're my closest friend, Grave, and you have my loyalty."

Grave listened attentively, as was his wont. He absorbed well her words, and kept his intuition peaked to catch the glimpses of the emotions running underneath, the heart's undercurrent to the mind's stern course. He too thought it might be possible to reach that apex, that perfection of balance, and he humbly recognized how very far from it he was. Grave's need to burn from himself his imperfections and weaknesses was only kindled by this confirmation from Kallisto. At her gentle words of reassurance, Grave's contemplative frown lifted, as if a cloud passing over the sun and his earlier ease and lightness was fully restored. The issue had been expressed, had been touched upon, and now it would be stored away deep in recesses of heart and subconscious of mind to be worked on and inspected and analyzed to find the kernels of truth he sought. But for now, there was love here, albeit friendship and not sexual, still something that touched and warmed his heart. Her fingers in his hair and sway of hip-to-hip brought Grave fully back to the situation. The music again infused his soul, and the soft lighting of the lanterns playing over Kallisto's elegant dress and cast-down curls again took his attention. Without pause for thought, Grave leaned in and pressed a soft, tender kiss to Kallisto's lips. "Thank you, as always, Kallisto. You give me a steady point to move forward from; I simply cannot express how much I appreciate your friendship and your presence in my life. Truly, I dare say I love you dearly."

She had been watching him carefully and when that familiar bright spark returned to his eyes, she felt relief. The seriousness of their conversation, while still present was fading pleasantly and a more mischievous glint to entered her gaze.
At least until he kissed her.
She paused, eyes going wide in surprise at the feel of his lips against hers. Hesitantly, she returned the gesture after he spoke, "I understand, believe me. You've been the only person to remain within my life... the rest..." She glanced up, reminded of their time in school, "Come and go. That you stay is something I will always be grateful for." Kallisto chuckled, "Which doesn't sound at all like what I'm trying to say. I love you too."

Cheeks darkening alittle, Yalitza looks away as she attempt to hide the blush "Thank you.." looking back towards him, she bows her head just alittle. She realized how close they were also, but she really thought nothing of it. They were dancing, and it seem everyone was close when dancing.
She understood now, the meaning of swept off your feet. As with them dancing, she felt just like that. Nadyrr was doing a great job in dancing, and he was great company. With a smile, she closes her eyes for a moment, just listening to the soft music as they move.

At first Nadyrr thought he had said something wrong when Yalitza started to turn away from him. A tiny feeling of panic fluttered in his chest but then he noticed the slight darkening in her cheeks and relaxed again, she was blushing which made his own blushing not so bad he figured. And then something very strange hit Nadyrr, it was quite simple he was enjoying himself something he often had trouble doing with others. And he was doing it while holding a light girl within his arms...delicate even, a bit so he was still afraid he might hurt her.
Her size in mind when he adjusted his hold to more of a cradle while they danced he was sure to hold her securely but not overly tightly. Smiling slightly he watched her expression as she rested to listen to the music, he didn't want to ruin the moment but he found himself murmuring slightly.
"This is nice..."

Hearing his word, Yalitza opens her eyes just alittle so she can look at him. Lifting her hand from his shoulder, she nods as she brushes at his bangs "Yes, yes this is nice." letting her hand drop back to his shoulder, she falls quiet once again.
It was a dream, the music and dancing. Gliding on clouds, while it seem no one else was around. Giving Nadyrr a genuine smile, she leans in brushing a small kiss to his cheek. Her way of showing him, she was having a great time dancing with him.

Nadyrr gave Yalitze a slight squeeze as she spoke, resting now against her some as they turned. Perhaps a bit too slowly for the song but comfortably for themselves which seemed to matter most. When she kissed his cheek he got a strange sort of tight and then fluttering feeling, gulping slightly his cheeks flushed deeply.
After a moment of dancing in embarrassment he chuckled slightly and hid his face against Yalitza's shoulder but kept moving with the flow of music.

Laying her head on his shoulder some, Yalitza's eyes feel close once more. She was comfortable, really comfortable at this moment just being there with Nadyrr. Her heartbeat jumps alittle, to where she thought she could feel in pounding against her rib cage. The feeling in her stomach, although it was nice at the same time made her want to laugh. It was almost like something was flying around inside her stomach.
Lifting her head, she looks at Nadyrr as he hides his face against her shoulder. She couldn't help but smile, as she found it cute. Though he very cute in general, but she would keep that to herself.

Nadyrr looked over Yalitza's shoulder a moment and then turned to look at her, only to catch that she had been watching him out of the corner of her eye. The whole ordeal made him gulp again but then his gaze drifted over toward the audiodeck and the musicians.
Murmuring slightly he kept the light hug he had been holding her in but spoke gently, "I think the song is about to finish..." he didn't know if staying for more then one dance was the usual thing but truthfully right now he wasn't sure he could handle that without doing something decidedly embarrassing, not that he hadn't already in his own mind.
The song finished and Nadyrr found himself stopping as the music did his arms still lightly wrapped around Yalitza, he stared a moment at her deep blue eyes. Then realizing he was likely staring he blushed again and looked over toward the food table, when he spoke his voice was a bit wavering but finally he managed to get out his intent, "I could get you a drink or...uhm food or something."

Cypress giggled, thoroughly amused as he described the making of her hybrid, both the noises and the gestures. She actually got a fairly good idea of it, and it floated around in her mind helplessly like all the punch she had been drinking. Everything felt super light and tingly, and a little too funny. One of Cyphr's comments, however, did not escape this lightheaded ecstasy, which was the one where he said she was cute. She blushed furiously, turning away for a moment to try and gain her composure, only to realize that she had entirely lost it. In her turning, however, she noticed that Thimble had joined them, though apparently Cyphr hadn't noticed. Oh! Introductions! Cypress said, not sure if she was glad for the company or not . . . things were getting rather interesting, she thought with a bit of a grin. Cyphr this is . . . um . . . she paused, glancing between the two with a look of utter confusion. Well goodness, I don't even know! I never got her name! she confessed, finding the entire situation a bit more funny than she would have, and feeling no embarrassment at all. Well, I suppose names don't really matter, especially with food this good! Let's dig in! she said rather over-enthusiastically, hooking arms with the both of them and skipping gaily over towards the sushi, just happy to be alive and dragging either one behind her if they didn't keep up on their own.

Taking a small step back from Nadyrr, she nods "Thank you for the dance, I rather enjoyed dancing with you. And I would love a drink, thank you." she didn't leave his arms, she just kept her hands resting on his upper arms. After a moment of just staring at him, she finally does take a step out of his arms. The strange feeling within her stomach getting stronger, but she figured it was her empty stomach.
"Maybe we can dance again later?"

For a moment Nadyrr realized he was probably forgetting to breath and then he caught himself going to clear his throat again and stopped. Biting his lip slightly he started to lean forward to return the kiss Yalitza had given him earlier but on her lips; he however stopped short looking rather flustered settling for giving her a hug and holding her close a moment before stepping back finally breaking his arms from being around her.
Keeping one arm over and lightly wrapped around the academic's waist he smiled lightly, "lets head over...and well I'm not quite sure about the food. But it looks - interesting." As they neared the punch bowl he paused and reached to get them each a drink and turned holding it out to her.
