My parents are okay with it, they know I could be doing worse then dressing in old timey clothes. They're Glad I dont dress in short shorts and such, whenever they stare at me funny when I wear my lolita outfit I remind them "I could be dressing like that" and point to the nearest girl in not so modest clothing.

My parents are actually quite oblivious to how I dress lolita. That also goes with saying that I only wear my full lolita dress on sundays only sweatdrop

My mom thinks it's cute. She also thinks I'm brave for wearing it. She doesn't really understand it, but she puts up with all my "Nuuu! It has to be like THIS!"s

...My mom actually thinks I look like a hooker when I dress in the fashion. -.- Don't ask why... I have absolutely no clue. But since I live with my aunt, my mom basically has no way to force me to dress "normally". I've learned to ignore her harsh comments. ;3

My mother thinks it's adorable, but that the excess ruffles are pointless.

Also, with the more Gothic Lolita, she thinks some outfits look like a French maid.

my mother hates it.
if i'm in lolita, she says she doesn't want to walk around me. D:
she says it's weird and that i'm just a weird person. and she says that everybody will stare at me when i'm in lolita.

my dad just shrugs it off. i think he thinks that it's just a phase that i'm going through.

my aunts think i'm cosplaying. and i've tried explaining to them but they have never listened. D:

I am the black sheep as far as my step mom is concerned and always tells me i am crazy and wierd, etc, etc and basically puts me down behind my back and to my face 24/7.

however my MOM thinks that it's cute, and she never says anything mean or rude, and she was even looking through one of my glb's with my sisters last week saying how cute everything was, how it was totally my style, and how i should get into fashion...then my older "sister" roped me into designing and sewing her bridesmaid/flower girl dresses for her wedding, keeping the lolita fashion in mind with the designs...

I love how my mom supports my style. She says it's unique and really cute. She also supports my decora and takes me out to buy accessories.
I'm really grateful I have such a nice mom.
My dad is sort of bleh about it but my sister thinks it's embarrassing.

They are fine with it. She doesn't question it, and she wants me to find my style and be myself. She also buys me some stuff. =3

XP My parents think it's stupid.
TT.TT I have to buy all my lolita with my own money, and I'm not allowed to wear it unless there is a special occasion. I told my mom that all I wanted for Christmas is an outfit from Angelic Pretty and she said "I'm not buying you another one of those stupid dresses."
It really hurts... They say they're just trying to protect me from the kids at school making fun of me, but I really don't care what the people at school say. Most of them are either rednecks or whores anyway so why would I care?

My father actually loves it. When we went to Paris, he was the one who took me to BtSSB and helped me pick it out. And whenever I show it to him he says it's very cute, and flattering on me (Which is good, cuz he has better fashion sense than my mother~!)

My mother doesn't like certain parts of it. (I.E.) If it's based of maids, or the pattern is really ugly, she'll say so. She helps me pick it out sometimes, too. My mom wishes I'd wear brighter colors, she'll say things like, "These are all pink(or some other color)! Why not try something other than black or Grey!" Then we'll laugh and I'll go, "UHNOKAYSORRIES."

Luckily for me, what she doesn't like, I usually don't like, either. I'm not sure if she likes the bloomers, though. I think she finds them pointless (I agree)-besides, I don't know any.

All my friends at school love it, which is very supporting. But, I get the looks quite often. (even when I'm in NORMAL attire. Not lolita).

One more thing (then I'm done, promise!) I don't own much lolita, one dress, a skirt, and a JSK (The first thing I've ever owned that is lolita! It's my favorite!)
I'm usually casual Lolita, by the way. Casual weekdays, formal Sundays.

I'm 14, by the way.

My mum loves me wearing lolita fashion because it is so pretty. When I first told her about it, she was a bit unsure because of the name. She had heard about the book/film. As soon as she saw me in it though, there were no problems smile

One of my few lolita pieces is a blouse my mum gave me a few years ago, so I think she is happy I am wearing it more now. When my mum and I go shopping together now, she always points out things she thinks could work with my new fashion. She understands that I am obsessed and can't think of any other type of clothing biggrin My mum is so supportive! She even gives me sewing advice for making my lolita clothes when I ask her for it smile

My husband is also supportive of me pursuing lolita clothing, as long as I don't buy clothes online or wear my lolita to his corporate events biggrin He is going to let me buy a petticoat from In The Starlight if I give up on making my own one smile

To older people, I introduce the fashion as Victorian-inspired, so they don't get confused or put off.

For people having trouble with their parents not letting them get into the fashion, look online for pictures of outfits that you would want to wear. Maybe once they see the style they will understand that it is mainly cute, innocent clothing. I understand parents objecting to pay for it, especially on the online stores, but if you make your own or find department store clothing it makes the price much more affordable.

Just out of principle I would never buy a $300 dress!

My mom really supports me, I talked and showed it to her and she said they were just like the dress's she use to make me when I was younger. So she's okay with it, however my dad and step-mom think i'm crazy. My dad just shakes his head and my step mom is probably not going to want me to wear it but its not like they can force me to not wear it. My best friend Kassy is really supportive shes actually gotten into the fashion my other friends however know nothing about it. I'm waiting to get a few more outfits to show them.
