Homicidal Fangirl Hmm...one of our band directors said that they were thinking of our show theme being called "A Blessing and a Curse."
But we won't know for sure until later on before the summer, I suppose.
Then again, our band director DID say this recently:
"Yes, the rumors you've heard about our show for next year are true. It shall be "My Little Pony Versus The Little Mermaid." Prepare to see lots of pink and purple on the field!"

our BD wont say. we wont know for sure until the band banquet, but he said we have five options:
All Winds
All Percussion
Complete Package
and two other options i dont remember. they said they were leaning toward the complete package... lol. i hope its really good. we had a Spanish theme this year.

The Richland High School Bomber Marching Band will be performing music from Les Miserables. We are really excited for the coming year and have already started preparations for it.

Sierramist66 We might be doing Queen next year. but we don't know, my BD hasn't decided yet, sweatdrop and if he has he won't tell us until after festival
EDIT:(more or less, it's actually closer to news or update but whatever.) So i wasn't sure if I should make a new post or not so i decided that it would be safer to add on to this post.
ANYWAYS--
As of yesterday, Monday January 11 (eleventh) 2008 at 7:20somethingorother, The Pride of Chelsea (aka the Chelsea high school Marching band) WILL be doing Queen as our show theme in the 2008 Marching season! this was verified by the band director himself! (actually the verification was done at 7;20somethingorother but whatever) *huggles band director*
(and yes i seriously almost did that if it weren't for the fact that he was in pre-concert mode xd ) My band did queen about 2 years ago. it was really good!!!

This year, my band director decided to try and write the entire show for the first time this year. Our theme is California, but not exactly the state, just songs that have California title. So we have:
Californication
Dani California
Hollywood Swingin' (percussion feature)
Hotel California
California Dremin'
Heard It Through the Grapevine (California Raisin theme song)
Fortunately, or unfortunately (I can't decide which), I don't get to play any of it because as of today I'm the new drum major for next year. From what I've heard so far, it sounds pretty good.

ours is being written n wil get 2 us by may. we have 40 freshmen coming up and 29 reterning members. my band is lucky! (sarcasm)

The Columbus Marching Cardinals are doing Nautical Voyage (if we get the $1600 for the show)
We all wanted the Pyrimid show, because it would be unique and everyone does songs about water

My band is doing Quidam by Cirque Du Soleil. The music sounds awesome and next year we are gonna get 5/5 for sure!!!!!! biggrin

Wow, a lot of you do movie soundtrack stuff. Every show we've done has been new to the field. My BD hasn't decided on the name of our show yet, but the music we're playing is call Fusion.

Key Poulan's commissioning a show for our band for the first time since he left the school as director. No one knows what it is yet, but we're all thinking it'll be awesome. After all, when Poulan was the director at my school, the shows that he wrote specifically for the band earned WBA championships in 3A. ^^
