Lamen's gaze finally wandered off from the water-filled crater to the companions of the other mages. After all, many of them were eye-catching- a dragon, a great golden snake, a large and rugged black wolf... as well as a phoenix, distant relative of Simurgh's by their similar shape, no doubt. Intriguing. If the fighters had not seemed so exhausted, she would have introduced herself already, being eager to meet them all. The mage thought, with an affection rarely shown on the outside. The giant bonded replied, sharing Lamen's feelings. The degree of the mage's appreciation for just about everything was, to her, an endearing quality. However, for her own sake, she really should move forth on her own a little sometimes. Since the human could not be prompted into action- and Simurgh could already feel her considering a return to the city due to how busy this place was, - the massive avian took the initiative.
She made a noise then, in a rolling, guttural voice that sounded eerily like speech. "Awur." Her form burst into a flock of small birds, around two dozen or more who circled around the basin on fast little wings, coming round to the Dragon Sage himself and flitting around him in unified greeting. It was a spell only Simurgh knew, and that only Simurgh could use- like other magical beings born with specific powers.
Lamen said, shocked as she started to walk over quickly, to ask pardon for her familiar's misbehavior. Simurgh replied, amused, not returning to her previous form. She stated, without anger- only resignation to the course of events her partner had chosen for her. It is what she deserved, for setting no bounds to these kinds of things. Still, it was better to have true companionship than to treat your bonded like a servant or an underling, as some did- despite the increased authority and control it would grant the user.
Lamen made a curt bow before the sage as she arrived before him, while the birds scattered to give them space. "My apologies, master sage- I realize this is not the best time. It has been a long while since we last saw each other." She managed an apologetical smile to the Dragon Sage. It HAD been a long time however, and she could not keep some admiration from her eyes- he was one of those that she looked up to, after all.

Kin finally lowered his arm and the flaming pillar faded away leaving a black pit below that quickly filled up with the remaining water. Kin was breathing heavily but tried hard not to show he was tired and worn out. Vix's giant body decreased to it's normal size and flew over to where Kin was and then canceled the flight spell so he fell and landed right next to where Kin stood. Kin just glared at Vix with his golden eyes. "Let's go get our mark." Kin said softly as he turned away. Kin walked over to sai and stood over him. "Can you stand?" Kin asked, not really expecting an answer.

((I have created a new character with which to interact with skeith, because he is almost a weeks distance southeast of the rest of us right now. I will not be submitting a character profile for this character, though I do have one made, unless somebody asks for it. The reason for that is because I do not intend to use this character regularly, nor indefinitely, he will simply be a character for skeiths character to interact with, so that he has something to do, and so that he can further develop his own character. I will be posting with this character in Dark Blue.))
Duhl Hayte was a short lean man with black hair cut long in the front and short in the back and parted to one side so that it concealed the left of his black eyes. He was dressed in his usual black shirt, pants, boots, gloves, cloak, and headband, and with his black belt full of throwing knives. He exited the alleyway beside the library, which was now being consumed with blazing flames. He could see his associate and target, Vladamir, just up the street from him.
He thought to his bound partner.
The color shifting, nearly invisible, reptile responded, referring to his own location.
Spio didn't respond with words but with a sense of affirmation sent back through their bond.
Duhl fell into step, keeping his distance behind Vladamir but also keeping him in sight while trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.
((Edited, I just realized that I descried what Duhl was wearing, but not what he actually looked like.))

"I suppose I could," Sai said without opening his eyes. "But I think that might be about as far as I get. I overdid it with those last spells."
Sai took a deep breath, held it for a few seconds, and then exhaled slowly. He repeated this process a few more times and then opened his eyes. He looked directly into Kins eyes and then moved his eyes to look into Stratus's. Stratus bent his head down next to Sai, he was not nearly as exhausted as his partner though still quite worn out. Sai put his hand up on top of Stratus's head and used it for leverage to pull himself up. He stood unsteadily using Stratus for support.
"Alright, I got this far. You wanna help me the rest of the way?" Sai asked of Kin.

((Lulz, Vladimir is funny xDD I'd have thought that in a sage's city in a fantasy world where magic is everywhere present, the library, as an important collection of knowledge, would have been protected by tons of magical defenses against such destruction. So it's kind of dissapointing that I wasn't. And if the LIBRARY wasn't magically protected, does that mean that the rest of the city can easily be burnt down by a simple incendiary spell by some random guy as well? D8> *feels sorry for the ill-protected "sage's city" =w=;;*
So yeah... how about we pretend that the library going down in flames was the "magical protection", an illusion to trick attackers into thinking their job is done? Or something? It's just too pathetic right now, unless this is a world where people have no clue how to use the power they have. sweatdrop ))

((Yeah, I do have to agree with that. Something like a library would be specifically protected against fire and water, as I think that they would be the most damaging to the books. If we had had an NPC there I'm sure the NPC would have protected the building, but there should also be enchantments to protect against fire and flooding. I will go along with the idea of an illusion, the building did not actually burn. It could, but the caster would have had to have been extremely powerful and have put an very large amount of power into the spell in order to have broken through the protective enchantment.))
Duhl had been following behind Vladamir. He was doing his best to be inconspicuous, he had his hood up and his cloak wrapped around his body. He walked with his head bent slightly forward which, combined with his hight, made it very difficult for anyone to see his face, though there were few people in the streets. He kept mostly to the shadows cast by the buildings around him, attempting to blend into them and become even less visible. When Vladamir sat down in the middle of the street Duhl stopped at the side of a building, appearing to lounge outside the entrance.
Duhls near-invisible partner said. He was also keeping a close watch on the man from roof tops and the sides of buildings where he was blending in with the patterns of the surfaces he tread upon. Nobody would ever see him there unless they were specifically looking for him..
The two of them held their positions and watched the strange behavior of their target. They were not the only ones either. Several other people walking along the street stopped and gazed curiously at the man sitting there. Some of the younger children pointed at him and asked their mothers what was wrong with him before the women pulled them away up or down the road. Finally one man, a large working man by the look of him, approached Vladamir.
"Sir, are you alright?" the man asked curiously, but with an air of authority all the same.

Duhl thought.
Spio thought in return.
The assassin and his partner remained hidden as best they could, watching as the man made a spectacle of himself. It seemed to them that he could not ever have been much of an assassin himself, not judging by his behavior now.
"I'm asking because I'm walking home from work and there's a grown man sitting in the path. I assumed you had to be either hurt or slow in the head. Or do you have some other excuse??" The man asked, making his voice even more authoritative in reaction to Vladamirs defiant tone.

Brantalis stood on his own now, bidding peace to the startled healer when the birds swooped over his head. He laughed, recognizing them immediately, as well as the young girl that appeared when they fell away. “Lamen. Must you be so formal?” He put a gentle hand on her shoulder. “You’ve grown so much since last we met. Why I remember when you were no taller than Kusanagi’s ankle!” The green dragon lowered his head, rumbling happily to Lamen, then nodding to Simurgh. “Which reminds me, there is something new here, someone in our family you have not met. As if on queue a little nose peeked out from behind Kusanagi’s foreleg. The baby dragon stumbled curiously forward to investigate the newcomer. He was about the size of a pony, with dark, forest-green scales covering his pudgy body.
Vilya held onto Tura’s wing as she feigned her lack of energy. “Pardon me miss.” One of the healers approached her kindly. “But we’re trained in energy transfer, we an give you and your friends at least enough energy to make the journey back to master Brantalis’ castle, if you would like that is.” The gryphon and the girl exchanged glances before nodding to each other. “Sure that sounds great.” Vilya offered him her hand.
The healer took her hand gently and recited a spell: “dare veltudo.” As he did this Vilya recited the same spell in her head, catching the energy that flowed into her and pushing it through her other hand and into Tura’s shoulder. The entire process took less than a minute. Vila stood up, stretching happily. “My thanks, I think the others could use the same.” The healer bowed and turned away as Vilya made her own way over to her friends. “Those healers can give you back a little energy,” She said quietly as she approached, watching Sai rise on unsteady feet. Seeing as Kin was probably little better off she offered her hand to Sai in Kin’s place. “You both should talk to one when you can.” Tura came up beside them, but the gryphon’s eyes were set further away, on the dragon sage. Vilya followed her gaze over to where Brantalis and a young silver-haired girl spoke together. “Who do you suppose that is? She seems to be good friends with the sage.”
((I wonder if we can flip back to the castle soon, there's still the rest of the festival to be had ^^))

Kin knew he had to cover up his usual instincts of being cruel and hateful so he helped Sai to his feet and gave Sai his shoulder for support. Their all worn out... Every single one of them. We're easy targets as we are right now. I'm only standing right now out of will power. The last spell I cast, flame pillar, puts much stress on the body and causes serious internal injury from the large quantity of condensed energy I create within myself. If I continue to use spells like these, I will be dead by the age of twenty five, maximum. Kin thought to himself as he helped Sai begin to walk. Kin's internal pain pulsed intensely as he and Sai made their way to the Sage.

Vladamir looked around and saw what the man said was true. He now had two options he could either stay where he was or he could move to the side of the road. Vladamir decided on the second option so he got up and moved to the side of the road he noticed all the people that were looking at him sitting back down he eyed the man "is this better?"

Watching the healer intently, Asako wobbled as best as she could on her feet towards him and Vilya, chirping and glancing back at Minatsuki on her back. Aware that her bird-speak was getting her nowhere, Asako pouted, if a bird could, and glanced at Tura with a dissatisfied frown.
She let out a one last coo of grimace.

Vladamir thought better of his choice he got up and ran after the man and chanted umbra obex and drew his claymore casting a shield around both of them making them invisible. When he got close enough he ran his claymore through the mans back smiling as the blood ran down the hilt and covered his hands. Vladamir pulled the blade out of the mans back laughing as he kicked the dying mans body. "Are you alright sir?" As he pointed his hand at the dying man he noticed something in he seam of his jacket it looked like paper. Vladamir ripped the dying mans jacket seems as the man stared at him with pleading eyes he took the piece of paper then turned his attention to the dying and chanted niger incendia aestuo and watched the man burn into nothingness and sheathed his sword as he walked out of the shield.
