Sailor Ananke, Senshi of Portal

Ananke smiled back at Subamara before her eyes widened and she yelled. "Everyone! Look out!" She then rushed to get in front of members of the group. She yelled out the name of her attack. "Ananke Portal!" She grit her teeth as the scales came towards them. Some of them managed to graze her before she opened the portal.

While she left one hand in front of her to keep the portal in front of her open she looked up at the creature. With a hand gesture she saw that she was able to open a portal on the side of the creature closest to her. When the portal in front of her let up she could only hope she was able to do some damage to the creature.

She then rushed back over to Subamara and Grus. "Are you two going to be okay!?" Blood trickling down her side where one of the scales had hit her.

Sailor Scout Attack: Ananke Portal
Ananke can create a small portal to absorb enemy attacks. It is possible to open another portal an send the attack back but it must be done in a sort amount of time or she will lose the energy signal. She can create a portal anywhere in her line of sight.

Palatine, Squire of Venus – around Valhalla, Gev, Scholomance, Alexandria, etc.

Palatine eyed Scholomance. His magic would have been extremely useful against the General Queen if a large dragon hadn't flown into their midst.

“I don't suppose you can do anything about that, can you?”

It was a monstrosity of fire, teeth, claws, and a spiked tail. It's scales flew off in every direction. Conscious of Scholomance's existing injuries, Palatine did her best to shield him from whatever scales flew their way. Luckily, they did not have any of the larger ones to contend with, but the shrapnel of smaller chips tore gashes in her uniform and scraped little cuts along her face.

Worse than that, the youma was now a large ball of fire streaking through the sky.

“s**t.”

Palatine couldn't see how they were going to make it out of there with that thing swooping along the battlefield, cutting people down in its wake. A ring of fire surrounded them, and that wasn't counting the golems that blocked their path to the portal.

And Scholomance was right. Either their hour had already passed, or they were well on their way to reaching the end of it.

Then the hail started. It didn't seem to harm anyone in their little group, but all around agents of Chaos were being bombarded with it. She looked up to see how it might affect the dragon. Ultimately, Palatine could not be sure if it would do them any good. Even if the General Queen, the agents, and the youma on the group might be kept down by such an immense attack, the dragon could easily escape the area of attack, and right now that posed the biggest problem in their effort to escape.

“This isn't normal magic,” she observed. From her position, it was hard to see just how far it extended, but by the amount of agents and youma being affected, she could assume it spread over a pretty large portion of the battle field. “I've never seen any magic extend this far or last so long.”

Not that she'd noticed, at least. Ganymede's crystal magic seemed to have a pretty big range, but it puttered out far more quickly than this. Palatine looked around the area to see who might have been responsible for casting it. One of their strongest, obviously. She could still feel the aura of a Prince or Princess on the battlefield, and it was obviously not coming from Ganymede. Soon she spied another winged figure holding a glimmering crystal aloft. His wings were as expansive as Ganymede's, but not the silvery white she was used to. She could not tell their exact color, but from this distance they almost looked like they could be black.

It hardly mattered right then. What mattered was that they might have a slim chance of moving forward.

“Let's go,” she said, and motioned for Valhalla, the Knight of Ganymede (Gevaudan), Scholomance, and the newly arrived Squire of Mercury (Alexandria) to begin making their way toward the location of the portal. Even if they didn't get very far, they'd at least be closer to it than they were now. Alexandria carried the other unconscious Senshi (Harmonia), so there was no other reason for them to linger around any longer.

"There's nothing we can do about the General Queen, unless you decide to stay and help the ones still fighting her," Palatine said, looking to Scholomance again. "If feel like, with the dragon around, the chance of getting rid of her is lost to us."

Sailor Chibi Perdita – with Chara and Ambrosia, still pretty close to Oort, Tomlin, and Oberon

Snap.

There went her broom, split in half by her effort to harm the dragon.

Perdita was knocked aside for her troubles, and she was immediately grateful for it, because she tripped over something and fell over, a yard away from where one of the youma's large scales crashed into the ground. She didn't want to imagine what that might have done if it'd hit her.

She climbed back onto her feet and looked around to make sure the rest of her group was okay. That was when she spotted Oberon by Oort. She was relieved that the Super Senshi seemed relatively okay, given how foolish he'd been to stand against a General Queen.

With both pieces of her broken broom, Perdita trotted over to them. The golem Tomlin seemed to have been attacking was taken down by one of the dragon's scales, but others moved into its place too quickly for them to make a break for the portal.

“I've never seen a youma that big before,” she said of the dragon, sounding somewhat amazed by it.

She might have been if it didn't pose such an obvious source of danger.

“Touch of Plenty!” Perdita said, and with her glowing palms she duplicated one half of her broken wooden broom, which was now jagged and somewhat sharp on one end.

With all her might, she threw the duplicate like a javelin toward the youma, keeping the real broom in her hands.

Quote:
Touch of Plenty
Perdita's magic collects in her palms, appearing as a golden glow. Inanimate objects she then touches with the palms of her hands double to create two of the same object. Got a trashcan lid you want to use as a shield, or a decent sized rock, branch, or a bottle lying around you want to use to defend yourself? Now there are two! The attack works only if the objects are touched with her palms, and it will not work on people and/or animals or legit weapons of any kind, nor will it work on anything excessively large. Handheld objects are about the extent of what Perdita can manage. Branches, rocks, bottles, trash cans, and anything else that might be lying around, however, is fair game. The attack can be used to distract, clutter, barricade, or fight depending on the surroundings/situation and the objects available.

She can double up to 1 inanimate object per use, and she can use this attack three times in battle. The magical copies can remain for up to a minute if she doesn't use them, but they will disappear into a cloud of sparkly dust if they sustain noticeable damage. So if she doubles a stick and hits someone with it, it'll hit them, but then it goes poof! and disappears.

The moment she was alone she knew that it wasn't a good idea. Running towards anyone- running away, for that matter, running at all was out at this point, even breathing made the world spin, and that was before the area started to fill up with smoke.

Cybele coughed. Her eyes had already been watering, but now it was so bad that she couldn't see. Not really, anyway. The world was a blur. Just staying conscious was a struggle. Why did these things always end in fire? And... ice? She wasn't sure, but she thought she could see ice, falling from above. That was new.

There was still a fairly large cluster of spiked crystals next to her, which was really the only thing she could clearly see. She broke another off in case something decided to get to close to her...

And then, as if breathing fire wasn't enough, the dragon decided to ignite.
Well... at least that meant she could see it through the smoke? Cybele threw the crystal in its direction with all her remaining strength.

Benitoite

Benitoite should not have been forgotten, or perhaps even unnoticed as he stood with Hatsya. While someone, a page, had seen Hatsya going for Castor he saw the page approaching his corrupted senshi and the General moved in. Summoning his weapon he was slow, casual even, in his actions. The bite and sting of the hail stones hitting him was ignored, save for the wincing and twitches, he wouldn't allow himself further reaction to the pelting bites of ice. He had a job to do, self appointed as it was.

His weapon came up and the blade pointed right at the poor page as he tilted his head. Slate hued eyes stared at her, unblinking, and the General raised a slender ashen brow even. "I do believe she has a partner...but I believe I could assist you in finding one." His voice was low, the offer deadly in nature which his voice didn't suggest. The words, the offer, that was deadly. He was far more capable than she was and had far more experience and time.

"It's rather rude to interrupt things that don't concern you little one..." And he moved then, like a snake striking, his weapon was jabbed at her blade first intent upon stabbing at the side of her chest.

[Non-rolling posts here... Heap of rolling posts coming after.]

Glitnir, Knight of Mars - vs. Aurostibite

Two headshots in a row was no small feat, but the wounds Glitnir sustained on his legs earlier still smarted and were definitely still bleeding. Treating those discreetly was probably going to be difficult. He figured that the lack of immediate counter meant that he'd managed to rattle the General a bit, but he still held the chain of his scale tightly, ready to bonk him again if he could. Maybe the third time would be the charm.

The General asked an interesting question. Did he feel strong? What did it matter? "I don't know. Do you?"

Sorry for the delay!

Kitalpha - vs. Alsafi

What the hell? It got COLD. And there was hail falling all around Kitalpha and her crazed dragon-loving adversary (the fact that there was a White Moon senshi directly on top of her was probably what spared her from being directly nailed by the hail). This situation was not helping her recover from being toasted from the inside out earlier, leaving her plenty vulnerable to Alsafi just wailing on her like a punching bag. Screeching like a banshee, Kitalpha continued to flail and grab for anything she could: hair, face, maybe she could grab her neck and strangle her a bit... mostly all that got through was her usual foul speech spew. "Get OFF of me! There's a big-a** dragon over there, why don't you go over there and put your head up its a** if you love dragons so much?"

NovaCracker
Also sorry for the delay X_X

Lt. Paracelsian - Running around towards the back and having a godawful time

Paracelsian was rudely awoken from his spontaneous human combustion-induced slump by a sudden chill and the feeling of ice plonking all over him. Even if he still felt kind of woozy from being set on metaphorical fire, that was enough to make him pull himself up. Given what was going on, he felt perfectly justified in losing his cool for a hot second (or several). "What is WRONG with you people?!" he hollered out, scrambling to his feet to find a place to hide from the hail and the goddamn dragon. Yes, it would not be the finest moment of his Negaverse career, but discretion was the better part of valor sometimes.

Sailor Altair

Hasty shuffling sounds drew Altair's gaze in Aptera's direction again and that's when she saw another of Chaos headed in Aptera's direction as well. She had taken steps toward Aptera's post in concern and when she saw the weapon summoned she quickened her motions as she ran through the gap in their group behind the senshi guarding the bundle of starseeds. Then with a growl-like grunt that left her throat, she jumped at Benitoite for a tackle at the torso in hopes of getting to the threat before the threat got to Aptera.

Falias, Squire of Earth

Whilst the shard of crystal that he threw appeared to have landed a direct hit on the dragon, Falias wasn't sure if it had had much effect on the thing.

At any rate it didn't seem like the youma had slowed down any, even though he didn't appear to have been the only one to have come up with the idea to try throwing bits of crystal.

And at least one attack appeared to have caused it to bellow.

Green eyes peered at the youma puzzled as it suddenly drew its legs up and then widened as the thing suddenly shook - causing some of what was left of its scales to come tumbling down.

Falias cursed as the implication of the falling scales sunk in and did his best to dodge - because some of the scales were big and looked heavy and he did not much fancy his chances if he ended up getting struck by any of them.

Perhaps his luck was finally deciding that now was a good time to start giving him a break again because somehow Falias managed to escape the worst of the impromptu 'scale shower' and then he saw the dragon and found himself wondering if he'd thought too soon because somehow the damned thing had managed to light itself on freaking fire.

He did his best not to get too close as he picked up another shard of crystal and did his best to once again fling it as hard as he could in the direction of the dragon youma.

It was only after he had flung the shard that he spotted the red-haired senshi (Sabine) garbed in red and gold, it taking a few moments to recall the young senshi who had been by Kairatos before he had ended up getting separated from that particular group.

The thought that she might know where the Mars Knight and the others were had him moving towards the senshi, as he did his best to try not to stumble over bits of the larger scales from the dragon youma as he tried to called out to her
"Hey!".

And then to add to the screwed-up-ness of his current situation, it suddenly started to hail.

Perhaps it was one more thing on top of a whole lot of things, but it took a good few moments before Falias realised that for whatever the reason none of the hail was hitting him.

Sailors Sadachbia and Megrez - Sadachbia is vs. Dragon, Megrez is hanging back til next post

Sadachbia had chosen to hang back with Megrez while she was recovering from Ganymede's friendly fire. However, Sadachbia was losing her patience; just when it looked like the dragon had been slain, the damn thing burst into flame and was now wrecking absolutely everyone in the area. "I can't just stand here while everything goes to hell," she said. "I'm going in."

"Wait," Megrez said. "I'm not just letting you go in there by yourself."

"Are you sure you're good to go? I don't know what happened, but it looked like it hurt." Sadachbia took a few cautious steps towards the mayhem. "If you think you can do it, let's go." She did not see Megrez nodding assent behind her as she called her magic up once more. "Sadachbian Building Blocks!"

Once the bricks came into existence, she hurled them at the great beast, hoping to be able to get in an attack from afar. They didn't seem to do much, though... probably too small. Sadachbia was left hoping that, if she ever made it to Super, she would be able to chuck boulders at things instead.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Sadachbian Building Blocks!

Raising her hands up like she's carrying something, Sadachbia calls out the attack name and summons two standard-sized bricks that drop into her hands. These bricks can be thrown at the enemy, though they're a bit lighter than normal bricks and so they won't really break anything if they hit someone (though it'll probably still hurt). The bricks crumble to dust upon contact with a target or the ground. Sadachbia cannot summon more bricks until she has used her current two or their time limit has expired (if not used, they'll disappear after 20 seconds). This attack can be used 3 times per battle for a total of 6 bricks.

Eternal Sailor Megrez - vs. Dragon

Megrez felt a pang of dismay when she saw how woefully little Sadachbia's bricks did. Hopefully she would have more luck. Sadachbia's bricks were lightweight, while Megrez's ostrich eggs were... ostrich eggs. Big, hard, heavy, generally capable of putting people in bad places and dusting bigger youma. For a moment, she wondered if an omelet would pop into existence briefly once the egg hit the beast, but she quickly pushed aside the notion for more important things.

When she called the ostrich egg into existence and hurled it at the dragon, it seemed to land a solid hit, though maybe it could have done more.

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Ostrich Egg Toss!

Cupping both hands to catch it, Megrez manifests an ostrich egg. This egg can be thrown at the enemy. Ostrich eggs can be up to five pounds and they are significantly bigger than chicken eggs (here is a size comparison between an ostrich egg and a chicken egg, for reference), so this egg might actually hurt if thrown at someone. The goop and residue from this egg lingers for 30 seconds before disappearing. Can be used three times.

General Labyrinthite

The heat did not appear to bother him, even if the flames that licked their surroundings left him wary. Before, the magical fire had not harmed him or his allies but now - with the shift in the greater youma's energy, it seemed as though even he was a target.

"It is of no matter," he replied, brushing aside the senshi's concern easily. "Pain is temporary," he shrugged, thinking only death is permanent. "Wounds heal." Scars didn't. It was simple and yet, his attention was drawn to the thin line of blood beginning to pool on the small, freckled boy's cheek. He reached for the cheek without thinking, thumb running along the wound with blood clinging to his roughened skin. His other hand, the one pushed into an invisible space closed around the pulsing starseed, squeezing just enough to elicit a reaction of pain.

Kindness. I can give you kindness, Thrymr begged tears staining his cheeks, wetting the fingers pressed against the smooth skin of cheek. His smile twisted into something more rueful and he shook his head at the senshi, grip tightening around the soul gem.

"Kindness means nothing for men like me." Hvergelmir and her soft spoken words, her gentle touches, flickered through his mind and made his twist with something he attributed to discomfort. That had been a different time, to a Labyrinthite who no longer existed (or did he, it was hard to say), and even then he had not deserved her kindness.

If kindness was all Thrymr had to offer, Labyrinthite did not want it, let alone deserve it. Men - soldiers - like him didn't get kindness. "You never did tell me if you feared death senshi," he said lowly, pulling his gloved hand away, pressing his thumb against his mouth and his tongue darted out to lick the blood from his skin. "Of course, there are fates worse than death...'

Super Sailor Cor Caroli - Vs. Dragon

There was not a single thing about this situation that didn't suck.

Everything was on fire, everything that wasn't on fire was getting hit with ice, and generally everything was a mess. Cor Caroli was not handling the chaos well; if he felt phenomenally useless before, this incident was just grinding it in. He couldn't snipe the youma from afar like some could, and he couldn't directly heal people that had gotten injured in the whole fiasco. All he could do was keep them fighting, and there were just too many of them for him to even pick a target.

Some people were lobbing the crystal spikes at the creature; that was something, but he didn't feel confident about his chances of doing much.

...Actually, he managed to get a fairly direct hit in. Maybe his lack of confidence was misplaced.

Sailor Porrima- Vs. Dragon

None of this was a pleasant experience. Porrima felt deeply overwhelmed by the chaos (literal and figurative); when this was over, she was probably going to lock herself in her room and not leave for a solid day for the sake of some peace and quiet. Furthermore, she had lost Elpis in the chaos and was feeling quite concerned. It wasn't that she didn't have faith in her mentor; wouldn't anyone be concerned in such a messy situation? She hoped to track down the Super Senshi soon.

Until then, she could take a page from the others and chuck some of those crystal spikes at the dragon. It probably wouldn't do much, but it was something.

Well, no, actually, it wasn't something. It pretty much grazed the dragon and fell down. Totally unsatisfying.

Super Sailor Thrymr, Senshi of the Southern Lights - with Labyrinthite, away from everyone else

The press of the general's thumb against the cut on his cheek made Thrymr drag in a sharp breath - but the sting of that pressure was nothing like the one around his starseed, Labyrinthite's grasp tightening; and Thrymr let out a cry this time, his entire body trembling, pain ricocheting up and down his spine.

His cheeks were hot, damp with the tears that kept falling, and everywhere around them was fire, scorching its way across the ground. The air felt thick with it, and the smoke that was almost suffocating in its potency; Thrymr's lungs felt as though they were burning with each breath.

His gaze was fixed on Labyrinthite, some terrible, twisted force making him unable to pull away. The grasp that was around his starseed was reason enough to remain entirely still, but Thrymr's heart was erratic in his chest, pounding hard enough that he thought it might burst out entirely.

Did he fear death? He had told Mont Blonc, told Aegir, that he didn't want to be alone; that being alone was more painful than anything else, that being lost without a purpose was like trying to breathe through a wall of sandpaper. He feared that, most of all.

Slowly, Thrymr shook his head. "No," he said hoarsely, and then, painfully honest to a fault, "Just life."

His lips pressed together. One hand twitched and then rose, away from where it lay on Labyrinthite's wrist, and trembling fingers pressed against the side of the general's face. Thrymr's hand slid across cheek and he felt heat beneath his palm, from the fire and from the man himself, shaking with a mixture of emotions that he could not separate from one another.

"Kindness means the most for men like you," Thrymr whispered.

General Labyrinthite

In some way the free falling tears unsettled the general and in others it did little to effect or deter him. The only crying creature that could cause him to react was his mother and since the senshi who's very life was held in the palm of his hand was not Lara, he looked impassive.

But the pale haired teen was reaching for him, despite the grip he held on his very soul, and a soft palm was placed against the general's cheek.

The gesture was too soft, too sweet, when the slender hand reached for his cheek. Labyrinthite's breath caught in his throat and suddenly, his grip on Thrymr's starseed was gone, hand pulling from subspace as the general visibly recoiled. Suddenly there was space between them because he didn't want the senshi touching him in such an intimate manner. It would have been easy to grab Thrymr by the wrists, pin them against the wall, near the flames that licked the top of it, but instead he stepped back so he was out of reach. Unless the senshi stepped forward.

His heart beat irregularly as he eyed Thrymr warily.

The last person who'd touched him in such a manner had warranted a similar reaction, though the man had been of a different mindset. That General Labyrinthite had been broken, lost and confused. The general that stood across the senshi dressed in pinks and white was the dutiful soldier who's card was death. He would not be unsettled by the soft touch or gentle words.

"It means nothing to me," he countered, voice strong. "Kindness has no place in war." It did not matter that kindness often led to death. "If that is the only thing you have to offer then you are walking towards your death." Without my help.
