Chayse had run for what seemed like a mile before he finally slowed and stopped, looking around him at the endless stretches of road in every direction. "Where's the Game Corner?" he whined, slumping down on a bench and catching his breath. 'Suppose I shoulda checked where I was going before I took off..' Cyndaquil dropped shakily into his lap, dazed from hanging on so tightly to Chayse's shoulders while he ran. Chayse looked down at him apologetically, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry, buddy... I won't run next time."
Looking down the street to his left, he saw one building with a bunch of flashing lights adorning the outside, and his head lifted curiously. "Hey.. That's it!" he exclaimed, standing up and starting to walk towards it with a gleeful smile. He'd never gambled before, his parents warned him that it was just a waste of money. 'But they're not here now, are they?' he thought, cackling internally and walking into the giant hall filled with flashing lights, happy melodies, and the sound of clanking coins. Finally, something grown-up he could do!

Chayse squeezed his way through the rows of slot machines and Voltorb Flip tables, making it to the coin exchange counter and grinning up at the cashier. "Hi! Um.. Can I get.. 100 coins, please?" The man at the counter smirked at him and nodded, ringing up his total. "100, and here's a coin case for ya.. Oh, by the way. Have you heard about the mystery eggs scattered all over the world? They say a Pokemon hid them... and there's a nice prize hidden inside of them, for those lucky enough to find them." Chayse's eyes widened, his mouth dropping open slightly. ".. Really...? Where do I find them?" The attendant grinned and pulled out a flyer, sliding it across the table to him. "Here's a list of all of the confirmed locations where eggs have been dropped... As you can see, they are very wide spread... Collecting them all would essentially mean a world tour, but hey... Who would complain about that?" He chuckled and sent Chayse on his way, who took a moment to look over the flyer. "Hey!" he exclaimed, pointing to a name on the list. "There are eggs right here in Goldenrod!" Cyndaquil made a soft trilling sound and peeked over the top of Chayse's hat, examining the pink sheet of paper he held in his hand. ~Guess that means a treasure hunt!~

Before he went out to look for the egg, Chayse took some time to wander around the Game Corner. There were a few empty seats at the slot machines, so, with a look to Cyndaquil that said 'Why not?' he took up a chair and gazed at the many bright, flashing lights that surrounded the three golden 7's. Chayse's eyes were wide and glassy, and one could almost see the dollar signs reflected in them. Inserting 3 coins into the slot, he watched the wheels start to whir. "Come on, lucky 7!" he said, and pulled the lever, watching eagerly as the wheels began to slow. The first wheel stopped with a 7 at the upper corner, and Chayse held his breath. The second wheel stopped, and so did Chayse's heart - the 7 was positioned right in the center, setting him up for a diagonal win. His palms were sweaty. The third wheel gradually slowed... Chayse could make out the 7 spinning past once... twice... click!
"N..n... NOOOO!!!!!" Chayse sobbed, hitting his head against the machine. Cyndaquil jumped with a squeak and turned to stare at him with concern. The 7 had stopped in the upper right corner. So close, yet so far... Chayse sighed grumpily and shoved in some more coins, determined to win a jackpot. "I'm not leaving til I win!" he shouted to Cyndaquil, who laid down hopelessly in his lap.

Well, Chayse didn't win. In fact, he left the Game Corner broke as the dickens, cradling his Cyndaquil for dear life. "At least I still have you, Cyndaquil," he sniffed, taking a seat on a bench outside and sighing heavily. Fishing the pink flyer out of his pocket, Chayse took another look at it. "Oh yeah.. there's supposed to be an egg in this city somewhere, right? I wonder where.. I mean, this place is huge..." He worried his lip a bit and glanced around, noticing a spot of shrubs and bushes surround the outer wall of the Game Corner. "Might as well start somewhere..."
Getting up, Chayse started fishing through the bushes, and Cyndaquil helped by crawling underneath and sniffing along the ground. They searched and searched, until they came to the very last spot around the opposite wall, and Cyndaquil let out a startled cry. Chayse jumped up and ran to where his Pokemon was, parting the branches to find him and looking down at him concernedly. "Cyndaquil? What is it?" Cyndaquil was nosing a bright pink egg that was half-buried in the dirt, and Chayse's whole face slowly lit up.
"What?! You did it, Cyndaquil! Wow, I can't believe it!" He reached down and picked up the brightly colored egg, holding it close to examine it. It was like nothing he'd ever seen before - it was bigger than a normal Easter egg, but still smaller than the Pokemon egg he was carrying. "I guess I'll just hang onto it," he guessed, opening his pack to find a safe place to put it. "And onward to find the next egg! Let's see..." he checked the list again. "Olivine City? Wow, that's pretty far away... Guess we better get moving, huh? And think of all the cool Pokemon we'll meet along the way!" he said to Cyndaquil with a grin. [Exit to Ecruteak City]

Goldenrod was hustling and bustling with life and it reinvigorated Ashley for what was a rather mundane mission. There was a lot to do in a place like this, though Eevee didn’t seem all too thrilled with the noise. He soothed her though with gentle scratches under the chin, moving along the streets once they’d touched down in search of an area that would more than likely house an egg or two.

Goldenrod was one of the largest cities in Johto and it showed. Ashley half mused visiting the local game corner to kill some time, though that would eat into his hunting. Of course, if he found the egg quickly that wouldn’t be a problem. Not that he was much of a gambler; at least not in the traditional sense. He enjoyed the thrill of the unknown but more so when it involved personal peril. That was where the excitement came from.

Tossing coins at a machine in hopes that the RNG would work in your favor (and he was aware of how the machines were rigged and at what levels the odds were scripted in the machine’s AI) and it was hardly the same level of thrill that an unexpectant encounter had. The need to try and even track the quarry in the first place had limited his abilities and his work, for all the trouble they were having, seemed keen that he not freelance his way into finding someone who they considered to be a traitorous killer in their ranks. Of course, there were other games of chance to try that were more purely luck, such as the card tables. But even then, a little card counting got you what you wanted and that took away the thrill too. He could’ve just not done that but well… analytical minds didn’t rest.

Shaking the thoughts from his mind, Ashley focused on the task at hand. Eevee was mewling, her ears twitching as her gaze focused off into the distance. Ashley tilted his head and set her down to let her free, watching as she quickly scampered away. A minute or so later and she returned with an egg in her mouth once more. He was rather impressed by how quickly she’d caught on regarding the egg hunt. Retrieving the egg from her, Ashley tucked it away and patted her head gently. On to the next place.

Once they landed, Avikna slid from Arietty's back, moving around to the front of the lizard to rub her neck some. Tay rushed up, with a happy expression. "Avikna! Do you have any badges to get here?" Avikna looked back, arching a brow at the teen. "Not Goldenrod, but Johto yes." She replied. "The 8th badge, in Blackthrone City. We'll be going there for the final egg here in Johto." Though she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to even battle against Claire. It would be good practice for Drayden, who she imaged would be much harder than Claire. Though, that might just her underestimating the dragon-type gym leader. Tay didn't seem to pick up on Avikna's concern, rushing up to Arietty's front to rub the lizards neck while she started at Avikna with Admiration. "Are you going to challenge the gym?" She inquired. Avikna glanced over, letting a small smirk appear on her lips. "Maybe. Depending on how everyone is feeling once we get there." She spoke. It was an indifferent answer, neither a yes or a no. Having only three Pokemon on her team, dragon vs dragon... This may just not end in her favor. That was when she recalled her trump card, Isisra and Nepherit. Tay eagerly ventured forward with Freya and Cotee to explore It wasn't long before Tay was completely distracted. Not soon after Avikna decided to rest on a bench and ponder over her training ideas, did an odd duo of Pokemon appear, as if begging for a battle. Well, she needed to train, so why not? The battle was over and done in less than a minute. These Pokemon weren't entirely to strong, but every drop counted towards getting her Pokemon stronger. Though, an opportunity to go someplace with stronger Pokemon arose when Tay approached with her next egg. "Look!" The teen exclaimed, holding up the pretty pink egg she'd obtained. Avikna gave a grin, standing back up on her feet. "Good work. These are getting easy for you to find. " Avikna stated. "Next up, I know you'll like this location. We get to fly over the ocean."
