Even though she had seen persons and creatures surviving nasty injuries many many times, Lucind was surprised to find the preacher simply asking for his staff and seemingly not feeling the urge the see a medic. Thus she asked again if he really didn't need anything.
The Half-Siren almost chuckled at the preacher scolding the other man and Vahn's reaction.
Taking a closer look at Vahn's arm, the woman wondered aloud if it hurt and if they should do something to sooth the tortured limb.

Within his mind something seemed to be finally clicking. It was faint, but it was hard to ignore the pull of Efreet's Eye on his right wrist. There was a strong energy presence, and it hadn't been from the reaction that just took place...
It always reacted when it had a chance to feed off something.
"Lucind... I'll leave the rest to you-- I have to find Owle!" Turning, he bounded from the Garden, leaving in a hurry and without even properly saying bye. Whether she chose to follow or not was up to her.

Lucind Even though she had seen persons and creatures surviving nasty injuries many many times, Lucind was surprised to find the preacher simply asking for his staff and seemingly not feeling the urge the see a medic. Thus she asked again if he really didn't need anything. "Just my staff, assuredly my arm won't grow back, but I'll be o...."He started coughing. Vahn "Lucind... I'll leave the rest to you-- I have to find Owle!" Turning, he bounded from the Garden, leaving in a hurry and without even properly saying bye. Whether she chose to follow or not was up to her. The preacher had a disturbingly long coughing spell that echoed through the garden. It was a loud, wracking cough. The Preacher heaved a flowing glob of blood, vomit, and saliva onto his remaining hand, dropped it in the garden, and wiped his hand on an already soiled robe. His staff was propped up somewhere nearby, he found it, and used it for support as he continued coughing. "Stay back," he coughed, "I'm.... fine."He managed to pull himself together long enough to start walking to the door. Though his legs felt like lead and he was fighting to stay awake. "I have transportation waiting for me outside, and my wounds will be looked after," he said. "I am after all, a ranking dignitary of West Fall." The last sentence was said with some cynicism. He coughed some more, speaking to whomever was listening, because he was too weak to target his words while heading out to his chauffered SUV. "Keep an eye on Vahn, and keep me in touch if you will, I don't intend to be away for too long........ but I have, very important business involving an adoption........ which I can't afford to neglect." With those words he was out the door in a fit of coughing.

Maximos couldnt agree more. It was nice just to be alive and beside a good friend. With an actual living body simple things like walking down the street were adventures.
He could see, and even feel the concern wafting off of Lucind's aura. That sort of alertness always came across as a bright red with a hint of darker pinks. The truth was, that after all he had been through, life, death, and the like. No one, and no thing was going to stand in the way of his cherry chocolate cake, his machichiato, and this nice afternoon with Lucind.
It only took a few minutes, but soon as his eyes scanned to the side he was presented with the beautiful sight of Feimurgan. He could smell the smooth roasted coffee beans, and the scent of fresh and old books from here. He looked over at Lucind and smiled from ear to ear.
It feels like its been forever...
He said, scanning the stately structure from foundation to roof. As they approached, Maximos would pick up the pace so as to hold open the door for Lucind, following just behind her.
Ah, the sweet nostalgia. He closed his eyes taking in a deep breath and holding it for a moment. The times spent on these chairs, conversations about just about nothing. He could almost taste the delicious brew already.

Only when they entered through the front door, Lucind wondered how messy the two of them might really look, judging by the surprised and confused looks they got from customers and employees alike.
"No, no, I'm alright," she reassured the waitress Lorenna, who wanted to know if she'd gotten into trouble. "Just some...ah..stupid accident^^°" This explanation made the girl all the more interested in what had happened, thus Lucind patted her shoulder and turned towards Maximos, scanning his clothes.
"Uhh...I'd suggest we first find you something clean to jump in. I'll have your jacket and pants laundered, of course. In the meantime I could give you something of my bro. He's pretty much of your height...I'm sure it'll fit...ah..if you don't mind, of course." Scratching her head, she wondered if that might've been a bit too blunt. "I just wouldn't want you to run around with your clothes all stained..."

He honestly hadnt even thought of that, until so many eyes were drawn to his clothes. He was a mess! And that smell had followed him too. In sort of an embarrassed fashion he turned to Lucind and smiled nervously.
A change might just be for the best, these do seem a bit ripe. But, I can have Walter handle their cleaning. No need to trouble you with such a tiny thing.
He didnt want to disrobe here, that would be a bit too indecent for his tastes, so he sort of scanned the room before turning back to Lucind, scratching the back of his neck somewhat nervously.
Where should I go to change?

"Please, follow me," she replied, suppressing a grin.
Leading him behind the counter, the woman guided Maximos through the kitchen and the small office next to it, then up the spiral staircase into her room: an iris shaped hatch worked as a door, opening upon entering a certain code downstairs and closing behind them.
First getting out of her boots, Lucind then opened her cupboard: a flat but broad plastic box lying inside was what she was headed at. With the lid being withdrawn you could see two pairs of washed out blue jeans, neatly folded, and a stack of different sweaters and shirts.
"Not much of a varied selection...hope that'll do. S'all washed, of course. - Take what you need." Smiling at him, she stood up and picked out a pair of jeans for herself, accompanied by a large, black pullover and woollen socks chosen from the drawer opposite of Lucind's bed. "I'll hurry so you can freshen up as well."
With that, she vanished in the small bathroom behind her, where she would quickly change, leaving her dirty pants and boots in the shower tub. After cleaning her hands and face she actually felt much, much better.
"You done," the Half-Siren asked before peeking out.

Of course.
Maximos nodded his head and followed just behind. This was most definitely a unique experience. He had seen Feimurgan as a customer. As a friend of the owner, but he had never seen its inner workings. This was his first time behind the counter and into what honestly felt like the inner sanctum of the establishment.
It took him a moment to realize it, and when he did a serious rosy hue filled his cheeks. He was in the Lady Lucind's bedroom! He had never been in a ladies bedroom before. And he was blushing just about a red as can be.
Y-yes, that'll do wonderful. Th-thank you.
He said with that nervousness overcoming his speech just a tad. Lucind vanished into the bathroom, she was...His cheeks, looked like they were about to pop. He quickly cast off his dirty clothes, pulling a shadow from the side of the bed and using it to make a small bag to place them in. And then grabbed a pair of jeans, a nice dark blue shirt, and a black button down shirt to leave unbuttoned and wear over the first.
All done!
He said back in response. It felt good to be nice and fresh, he had never worn jeans before. It was a comfortable fit! As she exited he would be standing with the dirty clothes bag by his feet, and a the box he held with him nestled under his arm.
Thank you again, this feels much better!

"Yea, doesn't it? - Hey, looks good! Never seen you wearing something like this bef--- You alright?" Tilting her head, she walked past him to get a brush from her nightstand, and her smile became just a tad wider as if she'd figured.
Trying to bring her hair in order, Lucind quickly fastened it on the back of her head, several strands falling down to frame her face. Searching for her slippers, she asked Maximos to wait there a minute.
"Make yourself comfortable, I just go and get some ice and stuff for your neck."
Pushing a small button on a control panel next to her desk opened the hatch and the woman descended.
In the kitchen, she'd get a medical cooling pad out of the freezer, then a handy pot from a first aid kit hanging at the office's wall.
Just when she was about to return to Maximos, Kara called her: the Half-Siren's business partner and best friend had apparently been let in on the news.
"Sooo...you alright? Heard you brought some guy, with strange eyes - and you were looking quite...dirty." Crossing her arms in front of her chest, the dark tanned woman grinned at Lucind.
She chuckled and faked a denying tone in her voice. "It's not what it's looking like..!"
The next moment however, Lucind became serious, although a faint gleam in her eyes stayed: "It's Maximos.
He's back."
"..." Watching her going back upstairs, Kara couldn't believe what she'd just heard.
"Alright.. Please sit down," Lucind asked, nodding at her bed," then I can see what I can do for your neck^^"

Thanks!
Maximos said, his cheeks about as red as a beat. She asked if he was alright, but there was simply no way could he answer that without revealing a rather embarrassing truth about himself.
Yes...
He said pausing for a moment, trying to structure the words together properly. He raised his right arm, his was still covered in a black leather glove, and white medical bandage was swirled from his finger tips up into his shirt. It hidden under his coat earlier, and gingerly scratched the back of his head.
...I've just never been in...in a ladies room before.
He was almost immediately struck with shyness. His eyes somewhat nervously scanning the floor. Comfortable she says? That was alot easier said than done but slowly it was working, he sort of paced back and forth across the room trying to get a look around without being nosy. His eyes scanned a few pictures, if there was indeed any, gazing at the rather impressive decor.
He could have sworn he overheard his name outside the room, perhaps a small echo in the halls, it brought a bit of a smirk to his face. The smirk blossoming into a bright smile as Lucind re-entered the room.
Ok, sure!
He said making his way to the bed. A bed...a ladies bed. This was something of a unique experience for him, and he very gently set himself down. It was almost as if he was afraid to disturb the sanctity of the sheets. But he did it! A smile on his face and eyes as he looked up at Lucind. Passing off his nervous twitch by playing with the white bandages that covered his right arm.
The bruise on his neck was somewhat noticeable above the collar of his shirt. It was an odd blue collar and acted as the accompaniment to a very stern crick that was developing in his neck.
You have a-a very nice room Lucind.

"Oh, I see", was all Lucind replied to his 'confession'. It did surprise her with regard to his age...was somehow funny. But it would've never occured to her to laugh or even mock him. She simply accepted the news, adding a soft smile to her answer. Her room sported all kind of decor and accessories, photos from her, her brother, the shop's staff, all kind of snapshots, even showing Sunstrike and Vahn...and Maximos, sitting in the old stadium's stands. If he leaned in over the commode where a nice collection of frames was placed plus some photos plainly pinned to the wall, he might even find a very small, rather low quality shot of a tall, slim man, very pale, with long white hair, dressed in a black robe and wearing glasses..no emotions on his face. The photo had obviously been taken in Feimurgan's library... *** With a stern look on her face Lucind scrutinized the man's neck, carefully pulling both the dress shirt's and the t-shirt's collar down a ******** looks nasty...m'really sorry," she mumbled, standing next to him and leaning down. "What happened to your arm, by the way?" Taking that cooling pad from her nightstand - a simple plastic cushion filled with some green, cold paste - and passed it over to him. "Use this for a moment, then I can check if anything's really wrong. - How far can you move or turn your head," she'd ask after a while, hoping the cooling effect would soften his pain: to block it with drugs or one of her songs wouldn't actually help to find out the seriousness of the injury done by her.

He had paused at each of the photo's he recognized and hovered just a bit longer over the one he did not. That man with the long white hair was most intriguing, and yet very cold. It reminded him of the Reaper chill he had found himself afflicted with in the past.
---
Oh its nothing to worry about!
He said with a bright smile, he wouldnt want her to fret too badly. He partially blamed himself for not guarding himself better. To let her take the blame just didnt sound proper. The arm...he hadnt realized how much attention he was calling to it. His fingers stopped their fidgeting, and grasped the cool pack in his left, as he tried to figure out an answer.
I tried a relatively simple enchantment, but for some reason it seems Nocturne had different arrangements.
The arm twitched once. He had never seen a pack like this before, without a human body Maximos was used to just magically reforming parts of his body. But he assumed cold, on tense muscle would work, so he placed the ice pack against his neck, with a bit of a wince.
The burn has yet to heal...and the hand is not...safe...for others...
Sort of embarrassed about the situation, he tried to move the hand out of view, under his leg.
Yikes, thats really cold!
He said with a bit of a wince, and a squint in his left eye. All these sensations were new to him. But then again so was having skin, and breathing. He was really enjoying the cold as uncomfortable as it was, and his neck was just beginning to feel numb. Her question broke him out of his nostalgic stare.
Oh its good! -Ow!
He quickly moved his head to the side to demonstrate the wellness. A sharp sting jerked down his neck from rather bruised and tightened muscle group. His head stopped half way, his face cringing and his head immediately lowering as his body sternly rebuked his foolish movement.
...Hmmmmaybe not....

She couldn't help but to chuckle, then grin loopsided.
"Best thing would be to fix your neck...but just trying to not move your head and shoulders too much has to do, I'm afraid. Plus cooling - and later on keeping it warm.
Unfortunately, my inability to use water spirits to heal others still hasn't changed, even though...well, my powers...have grown a bit over the last months.
Anway. If it gets too much, you could either take a pain killer, or I might use a simple melody, installing a minor barrier.
For now, I still have this here."
The woman took the small pot made of white hard plastic and manually labelled from her desk to open it, revealing a beige cream, mixed with different green dots - herbs, as it seemed. The smell it gave off also wore a great trace of menthol.
"It's got a cooling effect as well, but it's mainly meant to soothen your muscles and allay the contusion."
Giving a small amount of this self-made ointment on her fingers, Lucind started to treat Maximos neck and the area over his clavicle with it, knowing it would hurt a bit.
Maybe only then, it really dawned on her, the profound change: him being human, the warmth of his skin...
She'd already noticed in that back yard. But now many questions came to her mind....but even though they were in a quiet, comfortable place, she kept on holding back.
When he'd mentioned Nocturne, a frown was to be seen on Lucind's face for a second.
So many questions.
But first things first. And there was no need to hurry now, right?
Not fully realizing what she was doing, the woman's finger tips brushed up along Maximos' neck, stopping next to his throat - pressing ever so slightly against the flesh to feel...his pulse.
"..."

Maximos listened with his eyes locked on hers. Not many girls had ever gotten this close to him before. And while he knew a great deal about anatomy, he knew nothing about healing.
Ok, I can do that.
He said with a smile, he wasnt expecting a magical heal. He really didnt know what to expect. But if hot and cold was the way to fix things, then hot and cold it would be. Maximos couldnt speak for the growth in her powers, but his neck spoke for the growth in her strength. Her comment did remind him of something though.
You know Lucind...
He said almost nervously, as she uncapped herbal creme.
...I've never heard you sing. I'd very much like to one of these days.
She was after all a Siren, a race rumored to have a voice of mythological and legendary skill. If there was someone who could sing, if of all the people he had met he could name one, a true singer. This was her. And her speaking voice was very soothing.
It smells very unique...
His sentence sort of trailed off after that. That area was very sensitive, and the numbness was just beginning to wear off. It was caught in the uneasy area between sore and numb, where physical touch was heightened but not yet painful. It felt extremely relaxing. Her soft fingers, the soothing creme...
His face flushed red with blush again, hoping that it wasnt against a moral code he was unaware of to enjoy this. His eyes gently closed, a small soft smile across his lips. His head leaned very slightly to the side, giving her hands a bit more room to work.
He was very much alive, despite how pale his skin was there was a very slight hint of pink. It was a sign that there was fresh, red blood coursing in his veins. Her hands slid up, his skin tensed for just a flash and out of instinct he almost jumped, but the reaction was immediately quelled by a rush of calm.
As Lucind searched for the thump, thump, of his pulse she might arrive just in time feel that pulse pick up just a tad. A fresh flush of red filling his cheeks.

She felt it. His shyness deriving from them being close like this. His quickened pulse.
She kept quiet, focussing on this blood stream beneath his skin, her eyes half closed.
"Missed you...," the woman said calmly after a moment. By then it rather seemed she was gently cupping his face, her hand smooth against the line of his jaw.
"..."
A knock on the door.
Stepping back, Lucind slowly turned around to unlock the door opposite of the spiral stair case, that directly lead into the library section. It was Kara.
"There's a free table, the main corner," she informed Lucind, flipping her dark curls over her shoulder. "Thought you might wanna have a snack - well, the usual order." She winked. "Or you wanna have it brought here?" The Half-Siren smiled. "No, that's just fine, thank you dear. Just hold the corner free for a few more minutes." "Sure."
"What do you think about having..hmm..lemme think - cherry cake and a macchiato, Maximos?^^"
