Cabron the Swan Do Americans really not say "hello" or "goodbye" on the phone, or is that just a dramatization thing?
I wouldn't be asking if my sister didn't tell me they didn't, cause it seems something sensible to cut out on TV. What the ******** course we say Hello and Goodbye on the phone! eek

I always say hello and goodbye. Unless it's someone I know, like my sister, I'll say "What do you want?" when I pick up. My dad always picks up and says, "This is Mark" I dunno.
Also, my car is broken. The serpentine belt came loose and partly melted. Soooo yeah... I am saddened and don't really care if I get to school tomorrow or not. And I was about to leave to get food when I realized that. So now im sad, and hungry. Aaand I got in a fight with my friend today, and now we're all blah. It sucks.
I hate mondays.

Though I use 'later' moreso, when conversing with my friends.I figured as much. Just starting to talk before you know you've even got someone and just hanging up when you're done seems rude, though I wouldn't deny there have been times I wished it was socially acceptable. xd

I wouldn't be asking if my sister didn't tell me they didn't, cause it seems something sensible to cut out on TV. No, I don't. Well. I'll always pick up with something like "What's up?" or "What'cha need?" for friends. Family gets "Hey, how've you been?". Hanging up with friends is always waiting for them to say good bye, and then hanging up without another word. If they're extremely lucky, they get an "I'll see you later." Family always gets "Love you, bye."
