Rhaplanca

User Image

User Image Rhaplanca's eyes widened in fear as Gannon and Hikari flew through a net of gunfire, "HIKARIIII!!!" she wailed. The thud of Gannon's landing made Rhaplanca's gut twist. She pushed past everyone and stood over Hikari, she couldn't remember a time when she had breathed faster or been so scared. Her heart pounding as she looked over Hikari's unconscious body. No injuries... but a glance at Gannon's twisted figure shook Rhaplanca's core.
User ImageShe shuffled to his body and dropped to her knees between the two fallen allies. She closed her eyes and sang a soft healing song magic, the one she used before, but this time the song was stronger, a frantic warmth enveloping Gannon and Hikari. Gannon's injuries were magically sealed, sewn and blood returned to his body except for the stains in his clothes. Rhaplanca's eyes opened determinedly as she rose to her feet. She turned back to the rest of the group, "This will sustain them, but rest is the only hope," she looked over the group, "Ishira take Gannon," she looked at Mana's weary figure and looked to Miko instead, shyly, "Miko?" she asked almost apologetically, "We just need to retreat to the tower, I will navigate wherever we can go.." she trailed of trying to think of somewhere, "Let's just get to the tower as quick as we can."

Ishira
User Image

Ishira nodded, already a step ahead Rhaplanca as he hiked Gannon's unconscious body up on his back, drapping his arms over his own shoulders, "Right," he said shifting Gannon's weight and almost tipping, "Whoa, big guy," Gannon was definitely more muscularly built than Ishira, and it was kinda odd to see him carried by Ishira, "Rhaplanca's right, let's just get to the tower first."

Miko~
User Image

Her heart nearly stopped when Gannon hit and Hikari landed several feet away from him. She froze, panicking, but was snapped out of it when Rhaplanca asked her to help move Hikari. "O-Oh, right. Of course, don't worry about it. I might not be as strong as Mana, but I'm not a pushover either." She knelt down beside Hikari and lifted her into a sitting position. "Come on," she said gently. "Can you help me at all, Hikari?" She frowned and looked at Rhaplanca. "Hikari isn't waking up at all..." Miko struggled to get to her feet, supporting the unconscious Reyvateil. "It's okay. Let's get going. Everyone is tired, ourselves included. Lead the way, Rhaplanca."

User Image Rhaplanca nodded and found no awkwardness in leading despite her role as a Reyvateil. She led the group through the streets that were now eerily abandoned. No soldiers in sight, but it did not ease her at all. Doubling back to the tower was notably easier without the interference but it seemed longer from fatigue. As they pushed themselves to practically collapsing, they finally made it the tower. Rhaplanca entered her authorization code, out of breath, and the doors parted. With everyone following she caught her breath as she led them to the last five elevators she passed through, "Now we must decide on a location," she frowned, "I only know the of inside of Ar Tonelico. Unfortunately I know nothing of the lower world," she said shamefully.

Mana~
User Image

The elder twin stepped forward. "Here, Miko, lemme help you. Don't worry about me, I'm in better shape than some." With a deep breath to hide her fatigue she took hold of Hikari, pulling her away from her sister. "You looked like you were struggling anyway." She knelt for a moment and hoisted the unconscious Reyvateil up onto her back in a piggyback. Luckily, Hikari didn't weigh that much. Actually, Mana was a little concerned because of how thin she was. "I know this area pretty well. We have two places that we can go to realistically. Hecce, which is pretty much as useful to us as a pile of rubble, or Behdla, and it's a small town. Daila is around here, but that's just asking to be caught if we waltz into that city." She sighed. "Of course, they might catch on sooner or later but I would say that it's our best bet to lay low in the farmlands or Behdla." She looked to Rhaplanca for approval. "That okay with you?"

Nel~
User Image

"Um... I'm sorry, guys... I can't go with you. I'm sorry but, I have to go home or Mommy will worry about me." Nel smiled, then took on a thoughtful look. "Hey, I know, do you think you'd be safe at my house?" She glanced back and forth innocently at the rest of them. "I know she'd say yes. She is very kind."

Rhaplanca didn't want to decline, but Seraca was riddled with C.P.G. scum at the moment, "I don't know if we would be very safe," she frowned and looked at the others, "What's the call?" the decision was for everyone to agree on.

Nel~
User Image

"Oh... all right." Nel tried not to look disappointed. "Well, I should really be going." She bowed respectfully to the rest of them. "I hope that your friends are okay. Thank you for everything and please come to see me sometime. We run the big bakery here! I'll give you free treats next time! See ya!" Nel turned and raced back into the city.

Miko~
User Image

"Goodbye Nel. And don't worry, I will definitely stop in," Miko called, waving after the Reyvateil. She turned back to Rhaplanca. "I think that we should try for Behdla. Mana said it's a small town, right? Well, it has facilities that will make it easier to rest. We're all tired, right? And the other two will need a bit more time to recover." She fell silent and waited for everyone else's input. At the very least, Mana and I agree on one thing.

User Image "We'll come back as soon as everything quiets down, promise!" Rhaplanca waved goodbye to Nel as if she was saying goodbye to an old friend. She turned to Miko and nodded, "To Behdla then," the made the strenuous trek back to the tower entrance. Even without a constant wave of enemies, the exhaustion made doubling back seem longer. Rhaplanca's adrenaline was all used up, everyone was accounted for now, plus one more. She glanced at the newcomer Anther hesitantly before vocalizing her authorization code again and the doors parted to the inside of the tower. She quickly ushered everyone inside and down the corridor to the last set of elevators used earlier. Her shaking hand pressed the button for I5, "Only three elevators, I5, H4, G2, then we're on level F: Behdla," she said wearily as the door to the elevator slid open. With everyone inside Rhaplanca was starting to feel a wave of fatigue. Trying to stay upright made her sway slightly but she ignored that, the problem was the way her head felt. She reached up and massaged her temples that felt like they were being crushed between two spikes. The elevator slowed and they were on the next level. Rhaplanca silently selected the level, taking a moment to try to straighten her vision and make sure she picked the right one. This time she had to lean her back against the wall of the elevator, "This one's a long ride," she said trying to remain standing despite her diziness. There wasn't even enough left in her to feel relief for the brief rest. I refuse to be carried. she thought independently.

Ishira
User Image

Ishira hauled Gannon on his back, pausing every now and then to shift his weight. Not once did Ishira complain, however. Keeping pace with everyone else was difficult but he managed. The sight of the tower in front of him was almost enough for him to set up camp on the spot. A true relief washed over him when they were all in the tower and safe on the other side of the closed door once again, "Three elevators? I can handle that," he said shifting Gannon again. Normally Ishira would be trying to lighten the mood but the situation was too critical, not one sound came from either Gannon or Hikari. The first elevator was a quick shot to the next level down, but the second one was proving to be an unwanted false rest when they could be that much closer to an inn. Ishira noticed Rhaplanca's fatigue setting in, "How you holding up back there?" he peeked over his shoulder at her with a worried frown.

Miko~
User Image

"Rhaplanca, if you need, I can help you," Miko whispered to her. "When we get there, I'll watch over everyone so you can get some rest, too." Miko glanced over at Mana and Hikari and then at Ishira and Gannon. Both Mana and Ishira said nothing, but she could tell that the two were getting tired.

User Image Despite Rhaplanca's pale complexion, she managed a slight smile, "Once we get to Behdla we'll all be able to rest," she prayed for a bed. The elevator slowed and the doors finally opened. Rhaplanca held herself up with a hand on the wall to press the next button, "Last one," she breathed and stepped inside the last elevator. Her head was pounding, she allowed herself to shut her eyes just to block out such bright light. Her head and body fought with the dropping feeling of the elevator.
