Tchhh.... school theme! There are no school uniforms in Iceland. One school tried once, the kids revolted. So, brown vest in stead of pinstriped, for a more casual look. Hown has a very simple style :3
 Teachers love me.

Libra; Most of us here were 80's kids right? D: Even if it was late 80's... *eyes all the youngin's from the 90's*
Hown! I missed ya D: Uniforms started with the middle schools around here when I was wrapping up elementary... they claimed it was a way to keep the dress code simple as well as help cover up economic status differences among students (bull... you still knew who had the designer khakis and who got their's second hand neutral ).

There are no dress codes in any school here either. I can't imagine Icelandic teenagers following them anyway. We're all "I'll wear what I damn please!" and show up in a miniskirt in the middle of winter. Anyhoo...

 True story. 'Cept the teacher was a nice lady and just laughed. Miss purple is a friend of mine. She lurks the AST.

Ohh... we don't have uniforms here either. Which is fine... and at the same time, a shame. It invites for a lot of teasing about clothes... but what the hell, rather it be about the clothes and not you.

I've never really liked the idea of uniforms or a dress code. Kids always find a way to differate themselfs, like by how they wear the tie, or how they decorate their backpacks or, like Duckie said, how expensive their stuff is. It just seems pointless to me to try to reduce teasing by making rules about the clothing that will be worked around anyway. I always find it much better to let us just be who we are and express that fully through what we wear as well as what we do. Then again, I never got bullied, so I wouldn't know if clothes are a big factor in that. (Well, I kinda did get picked on from time to time, but I was such a weird kid and I didn't really notice or care at all, so no one bothered to do so for long. Besides, I totally knew/still know karate.) I have also never known a school or workplace that forbids piercings. What's up with that? You can't just ban people from wearing certain accesories.
@lolly: Hey, atleast it's a pretty colour! :3

I don't know of any schools around my area that wear uniforms. Seriously, if we had to, students would start a strike or something~ =P I did though, have to wear a uniform when I went to school in Japan. It wasn't 24/7...we got to change, but it was annoying. I suppose that's what I get for going to a private school over there~ Wasn't even cute or anything...but that was like elementary-middle school! xD Lol

I only know 1 or 2 schools here that DON"T have uniforms. Everyone here has a uniform, which isn't bad unless they start cracking down on wearing ties and tucking in your shirts. And they used to try get me to wash out my hair when it was pink, but I never listened. Our argument was "it was a creative arts school, stop being tightasses" But yeah... when you're some kind of harpy creature you don't go to school, you just eat kindergartners...
