Questionable Genius

((Since I don't feel like trying to get Caine to post after this, I'm just gonna post for him here. He's my brother, I can do it. xD))

That small smile never left Kirra's face as she crossed one leg over the other. She watched the Emperor as he tried to make his attentions as unobvious as possible, and perhaps to others he succeeded. But Kirra was adept at reading body expressions between the lines, and the bemused grin on her lips showed it.

Leaning to her side, the Saiya-jin rested her arm on the bartop, smiling at her blood-brother. "I'll just have a glass of what you're having." Her green eyes danced, though whether it was from mischief, or just her close proximity to the Orinian leader.

Caine repressed a sigh and stepped away for a moment to get another glass. He put a few ice cubes in it, before pouring the dark liquor over them into the glass. Honestly, these two need to do something about this sexual tension, he thought to himself. He slid the liquid to his psuedo-sister and then stepped back, watching the rest of the room with his glass in hand. He had no reason to watch his boss and sister so closely, even if the rest of the room was boring.

Kirra thanked the General with a small nod as she picked up her newly acquired drink and brought it to her full lips. After a moment, she lowered her glass and smiled at Taliman. "So what brings you out this way so soon?"

Kirra's rhetorical questioning sounded distant, muted. It was as though fireworks had gone off much too close and the fox demon's hearing was compromised. All of his senses focused on Tybron, who he suddenly noticed was already halfway across the room on his way to a hasty exit. Something the nit outside had said had upset him, everything about the boy's demeanor said he wasn't coming back down. Wesley couldn't afford to break his way into his brother's chambers, it would offer a false impression of his intentions. But he didn't know how much time he had the luxury of spending, so this couldn't wait.

He spoke suddenly. "Brother wait," he said boomed as he rose from his seat, his voice sounding like thunder off the walls in the silence of the room.

When that command had gotten his brother's attention, Taliman paused. Even still several feet away, he could sense the uneasiness, the caution. Red flags were going up all over the place in Tybron's mind it seemed, and for good reason. Being ordered to halt by the man who had killed you, or even just wanted to kill you, was generally an indication of trouble. But the demon monarch had to somehow earn his trust again, even if only for a few minutes.

"Do you have a moment," he asked then, much more cordially than before. "There's something I'd like to discuss."

Even as he said the words, Wesley felt reminiscent of the moment when Tybron first asked for a moment of his time, leading to the argument which ultimately resuled in their battle to the death. The Emperor had no intention of starting another fight. In fact he was hoping to prevent one. But he'd come to realize that Tybron could only be involved if he knew what was happening. What was going to happen.

::To say the boy was uneasy could've gone without saying. He didn't stop immediately - he slowed his long paces to but a crawl, and at that speed he reached the elevator doors. They opened for him - he froze at the threshold, contemplating his answer. Last time this happened he was the one picking the fight, and it got him killed. It was right up Tali's alley to kill him again, kicking things off the same way Deity originally had.

All things considered, the tall Orinian had no desire to hold any sort of discussion right now was it was. Life and death or not, Taliman or not. His mind was cluttered with all sorts of confusion and he needed to do a little personal rennovating before trying to approach any other subjects. The possibility of Tali's ill intentions wasn't even the end of it. There's no way he wants to talk about the weather, the boy thought with an angry sigh. Tali unquestionably had something serious on his mind.

Deity peeked over the shoulder of his coat, turning his hips some to get a better look at his big brother, patiently awaiting a response. It came, quiet as always but stern in the way only Taliman ever heard.::

...Deity's very busy.

::With that, he turned and stepped slowly, cautiously into the elevator. He knew if Taliman was seriously after him, the elevator - the whole tower - would offer no protection. But if it was truly a simple discussion the Orinian ruler was after, Deity might be able to give him the slip.::

"Brother," he began again, this time pressing the matter as he quickly yet carefully approached the elevator. "We must have words. There's something I need to tell you."

Wesley had no time for to be gentle, regardless of whether or not Tybron deserved it. In spite of the boy's lack of comfort with the demon monarch standing so close to him, Taliman all but entered the elevator, planting one hand against the frame of the entryway. Preventing the door from being shut he peered up at his younger brother and breathed a slow, patient sigh. He needed to put forth the effort, as painful as it was to either of these men who so recently were trying to take eachother's lives.

"It's important."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:52 am

::Instinctively he backed himself against the opposite wall within the elevator chamber, a hollow thud reverberating off of it as his heel hit the alloy. Though not showing much else in the way of apprehension, the boy clearly didn't want his murderous older brother to be standing so close. Taliman appeared to be sincere, but that still didn't help his credibility. Still a narcissistic killer, he thought. Taliman wasn't selfless, he wasn't gracious, he wasn't kind and he certainly wasn't generous. Whatever was "important" was a matter he found important, which was all that mattered to him.

Deity really didn't need to voice his skepticism. This would prove to somehow be a ploy to gain more power.::

...you need help, or...?

::A pause, no response. He did need help. The Orinian furrowed his brow, frowning at Taliman without any attempt to hide it. He sighed, pushing himself gently from the elevator wall. His quiet voice ensured their conversation remained in the little chamber - the more curious crowd would have to make their intrusion more obvious if they wanted to listen in.::

What could you possibly need Deity's help with...?

::Vertis looked on as his father entered the room after a long while. His shower must of really been needed if it took him that long to get clean. He stepped aside as he came over to the bar area and spoke with Pith. He heard his father's question to his mother and looked down slightly embarrassed.

After a few moments he looked up and over at his mother who was still silent, maybe she was still upset with Unks. So the young boy took it upon himself to answer Unks' question.

"Hi I am Vertis, it is a pleasure to meet you. And your name is?"

The boy smiled at his father and extended his hand out to him to shake it, and still wondering when his mother was going to end this silent treatment to his father::

Caine lifted his head slightly when his boss got up and chased after Tybron. At first he tensed, ready for a fight, but yet knowing it wouldn't happen inside the building. Maybe the Taliman of the past might have started s**t like that and torn the Club down, but this one....not so much.

The distance from his place behind the bar to the elevator was too great for him to hear anything, and really he didn't care about what the Wesley brothers were talking about. All he he was here for was to report Tybron was alive, and to be prepared for trouble. There was always some sort of trouble when those two got together. And to get a drink, he thought, looking back to his glass and taking another large gulp from it.

The General looked over to his sisters alter-ego, raising an eyebrow at the fact she was still sitting so calmly at the bar. "Aren't you going to try and get between them?" He asked with a slight tone of surprise.

Caine Saewin
