::For certain the possibility had never been been more real, but Deity's father was never truly prepared for it. Not truly. Paralyzed as he was, all he could do was watch in powerless horror as his eldest son murdered his youngest, one final attack ending it in a flash. Green eyes stared distantly, waiting for his imagination to give him back the reins so that he could see through it, back to the reality where none of this was happening. This entire, monstrous show of violence begged him to think it only a dream. If it was, he seemed unable to wake.::
...how...c-could you...
::The idea that Taliman could actually destroy his brother - after all the centuries - was somehow still too unbelievable. Even through the course of their duel he felt that the winner would be satisfied with any sort of victory. How could a man kill his own brother? The ruler of planet Orion did not see it that way - Deity refused to give him that which he commanded, and he was killed for it. The crushing truth of the situation grasped at the Knight's throat, holding his hanging mouth silent. He could feel power trickling slowly back into his limbs at last, and fought against the numbness in his muscles to stand. He watched, as he struggled, for what his last child might do. There's still a chance, he panicked, if I can reach him in time. If I can get there quickly.
The mighty demon's legs finally kicked into life, his long arms following suit. Fighting the sudden unfamiliarity of his own motor functions, he fought to his feet and started as fast as he could on his way. Hopping across huge cracks in the battered ground and sliding ungracefully down the heaving ridges of craters in his path, his stocky walk soon became a breathless sprint. His earlier defeat at Cado's hand had carried him quite a distance, however - he'd be a few moments.::

"They're all still so weak."
Maybe had Tama been around, someone might have heard him utter that. He'd half a mind to tell Tama to just leave Cado be, but obviously his friend was none too stupid and retreated of his own accord. Having an interesting vantage of the sky, Keno took the Japanese-English babble and glass shattering shriek as a sign that the battle was over, as though he didn't already know that.
Without pomp, urgency, or a great deal of concern, he rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself to his feet. Paralysis...what an interesting feeling. As it was, everyone's mind seemed to be on one thing. That left him feeling rather awkward, as though he had just witnessed an inside joke that no one cared to inform him of. His measured pace carried him to his fallen sister, the only person he cared about at the moment.
She had seen better days. Cado had given her a worse beating in less time than most people. In the darkness, it would be difficult at best to see the vapor effervescing off of his arm. He placed his left palm on her back, gently, and the material condensed on her. The Mineral penetrated her shirt and back, moving to realign Jade's spine and hold it in place. He couldn't heal her as it wasn't her Mineral, but he could at least "repair" her back. Hopefully there were no damaged organs, but he doubted she got off that lucky.
Discomfort or not, he wasn't even going to wait to ask her permission to pick her up. Guiding her by the left shoulder, he situated her on her back, scooped his right and left arms under her neck and knees respectively, and rose back to his feet.
So what if he thought this entire bout was pointless and ridiculous. 'Comical' might have been a better word. The only thing that made it not funny to him was the fact that his sister was now, or very well soon would be, in mourning. Even that only meant so much to him considering the circumstances, but pain was pain. He did not completely understand Jade's sorrow, but then he didn't understand Unks' either, and neither likely understood his.
He carried her, slowly, toward Deity, or the corpse that once identified itself as such. His measured pace, despite himself, was intended to give Sir Aaron a tiny window, a small measure of time, to maybe perform some miracle before they got there. Keno had already accepted Deity's death. For that matter, he had accepted Tali's too. Really, the only difference in either outcome was him attending Jade or Satomi. At least, in a way, Deity didn't leave any children to grieve his absence.
Eyes no longer glowing, ki no longer blazing, Keno crossed the tiny stretch of desert that separated Deity's death from his salvation. He really had wanted Jade to get there in time. He really had tried to stop Cado. At the same time, he felt he probably could have fought better. More effectively at least. Maybe part of him didn't try to hard after all...

One by one, the warriors that stood in the name of their friends fell to the might of the behemoth bodyguard. All the while a persistent brother refused to admit defeat against his tyrant of a brother. A sibling watched as his sister was mangled by a beast. Legendary warriors laid on their backs, knowingly defeated. The struggle was over. The terrible destructive power that these two men possessed seemed to be far more than anyone on the battlefield could handle. He felt his body burn. Felt a surge of helplessness and horror as he observed as he watched those who lived to assist and aid their friends be beaten to near death.
He shut his eyes after the final blow; partially because he didn't want to watch, but also to keep an eye on the younger brother's life force. Amongst all of the other orange glowing silhouettes of humanoid creatures, the two he was paying most attention to weren't emitting quite as much life as the others. One was practically void of any inner glow. Time was ticking.
Though the taller Orinian's life slowly drained from his body, his will never flickered. He knew he was facing death by not admitting to the stronger of the two who had one. In that sense, the stranger had a respect for the lankier brother; to stand so steadily for himself. His pride, while having been the end of him, was admirable. But that was all it was. It was not courageous, it was foolish. In the blink of an eye, he had left dozens without a friend, a poor girl had her true love ripped away from her, and a father was now scratch one son.
It was over in one final brilliant illumination of the night sky. The younger sibling had been blown nearly to pieces and fell silently into his eternal slumber. Death. A scary concept, the stranger thought to himself. He knew the pain it would bring to those who had witnessed it today was not to ebb anytime soon as he both felt the Orinian's life fade from his body. What was already a dull orange silhouette of a half-mangled body on the ground slowly faded to blackness. His flame had been snuffed.
He opened his eyes, tears dripping down the sides of his face. He lifted his head and prayed that the stars would be with this lost soul. The smaller brother had overcome his obstacle, but to what solace? Sure, being emperor of the universe was something to marvel at the thought of, but what was the point of ruling everything if there was nothing left to oppose you? Nothing left to stand in your way. It just seemed...Boring.
The stranger decided he would linger, peering down onto what was to unfold. The destroyed desert beneath him emitted dust from fresh wounds to the Earth. An eerie image, indeed. Yet somehow...Intriguing.
Still, the surges of pain he got as he watched the man clad in black carry the young girl to her fallen beloved stung him unmerciful. Tears still flowing freely down his face, he wept not-so-silently to himself, however it would luckily fall on deaf ears due to his elevation.

Tamashii heard all and just because he was not visible did not mean he was ignorant to the world around him. He knew he was weak compared to people like Cado, Tali, Sir Aaron but what they had Samayou had in other properties.
He liked to hope so anyway....
As Kenotao approached the downed Deity for a brief second the air grew cold...empty of life and it rightfully be so. For the briefest of seconds the image of Sama appeared but something was...odd.....
The power around Samayou was dark...very dark an ancient power easily outliving all of them. The image of Samayou was also like a haze, see thru and ghostly as he appeared beside Deity taking a knee with an open book in his hand, a holy book of some sort. Then he was gone.....to the Plane of Silence to await the arrival of Deity's Soul should it wonder to far from its final resting place.
The occult devil would do what he could for his friend....but only if Deity sought his aid in the world of shadows.

There was a tower. Just outside the limits of human perception and mortal comprehension a spire of stone and steel rose from a field of orange roses. This tower had held many occupants in its many years, but none had stayed so long in the libraries as the man cast all in gray. What had once been a tight black tee covered in stylized blue flame was little more than a faded rag. His once emerald green pants were tattered and coated with a thick layer of dust from throughout the ages which left them a sickly shade of black. It is said he once wore something upon his head, but these tales are foolish and have long since been lost in time. Dust fell from his knuckles as his fingers flexed and arm extended to take hold of a book upon the table before him. A slight sigh echoed across time and space, falling lightly upon the field of death, and he closed the book he had been reading. He hefted it in one hand and slid it back onto a shelf between a book torn to pieces with a skeletal hand raked across the spine and a book that seemed to be made from still-living leaves from a massive tree. Turning away from the shelf he walked away, his footsteps crashing through the minds of so many across the planes.

::Angellus was at a loss, and he looked it. For a few moments he only stared off toward the activity ahead of him, speechless without so much as a twinge of expression. Near his visual horizon, he saw one of the men he despised most, having just murdered his newfound mentor. Further still was his mentor's father, and closer was his lover - both distraught over what had happened. Next to him was Deity's adoptive sister. It was obvious that her hopes - as powerful as they were - were nought but hopes to her. Deep down, she knew in her heart that her premonition would come to fruition, that Deity's valiant efforts toward the climax of the battle would be pointless at best. Perhaps if he had acted differently...Angel wondered with a strange calmness. He doubted his own curiosity, having no prior knowledge of Taliman's full capacity for destruction. He knew just as little of Deity's powers, but before this day he thought such monstrous energy was but a myth. To his dismay, the Orinian monarch was happy to prove them all wrong.
Before he even realized, the former slayer was down upon one knee, resting one hand around Kaen's dusty shoulders. He had no idea what he could've or should've said - what do you say to someone who just watched their brother killed? All he felt he had the emotional capacity to do was stay with her, keep her from being left alone, even if her only company was someone she hardly knew. Stay with the little girl, he told himself assuredly, until the others join us. He felt that would be soon now. Once they retrieved the body...::

The redheaded Emperor tilted his head back and breathed in heavily, then exhaled. With that breath he let go what one would imagine to be a great deal of stress. He calmed himself now and took in his surroundings again. To one side KenoTao slowly approached with the Saiyajin child in his arms. To the other, Taliman's father hurried over. He'd reach him in a few moments so the Emperor didn't wish to dawdle. Now that Tybron was dead he had no use for him or this planet. They could do as they wished with the corpse and he ahd no intent to be in the way.
He had not expected his brother to do that; forcing Taliman to kill him. It was because of this that he absorbed so many wounds before his death. The little demon had foreseen his own victory and Tybron's survival, and in result predicted that his brother would give up in order to meet both circumstances. He truly hadn't had any intent to kill the boy. But he had been mistaken. Now that it was done, all witnessing once again saw the collected Taliman they'd grown to know. His heartbeat returning to a relaxed pace, he eyed Tybron's frozen body a little longer before he turned to leave.
He showed no elation as he made his exit, none of the victorious high he expected to feel after having finally bested that traitor. Just a dire need for medical attention. That, and a foreboding sense of dread. If Tybron was never meant to survive...how much of it was false? With Tybron out of the picture, the future could grow rather complicated. He would need time to contemplate on this matter privately; at the moment he couldn't fathom such a level of meditation, he was far too weak. Wesley rose his arm and gestured with his hand to summon Shinorei. He had sent it away before the battle and now wanted it back, to help his balance. In his weakened state he could use the protection, and a cane of sorts.
But it didn't come. Odd. He gestured again, but Shinorei did not answer the call. I must be weaker than I thought...can't even summon my sword. Oh well, never mind. "Cado," he called out instead. The big ape was already nearby and hastened his arrival by a few seconds. He stood over his much smaller master, awaiting his orders. After that little skirmish with Tybron's friends, the bodyguard showed no signs of wear or injury. Though his matted black hair cradled his stocky face like dusty drapes lining a lopsided windowframe. But that was like his permanent look wasn't it?
"We're leaving, Cado. Take me to the General's shuttle.. I need tending to."
The great bodyguard carefully slung his master's arm around his heavy set neck, then supported his back and rose into the air. The Emperor peered around with a nod toward Saewin, indicating for him to follow. When they were both off the ground a good distance Cado took off, taking Taliman with him in a bright golden slice out of the abysmal sky. Once on their way home, Taliman needed to inform his wife of what had happened. Surely she would be displeased, she and Tybron were very close. But she wouldn't be any less upset if it were her husband that had fallen would she?
On the other side of the coin, he had to tell Miss Laq as well. Unlike Satomi, Tali had already spoken of the duel to his secretary beforehand and thus had to fight his way out the door. Ever anxious, that girl was. She'd be relieved to hear her employer was victorious.

((Sorry guys, been feeling kinda crappeh from holiday stress and other factors. Hope this was worth the wait, but if not, deal with it. At least we can move on. x3)) Everything was a watery mix of blues, purples and blacks. Jade couldn't see clearly, even when her tears overflowed and left muddy trails down her cheeks. This can't be real... she kept telling herself. The whole past week had to just have been a bad nightmare. How else could so many negative events take place in seven days? Deity losing his common sense and challenging Taliman outright to a battle to the death. Going on a walk with Keno and ending up being taken hostage instead. Now here she was with a broken spine and probably internal bleeding, only a few dozen yards from where her lover lay dead and unable to reach him. As much as she just wanted to open her eyes and be lying in bed with Deity next to her, part of her wouldn't give her that false hope.
She was wide awake and badly injured. And Deity was dead.
As fresh tears built up again, a presence stood over her. The girl flinched, fear lighting her eyes for a brief moment at the belief that it might again be Cado. But as she started to turn to see who it was, there was a gentle pressure on her back. then teh odd feeling of something flowing through her skin and body. A quick glance told her it was not the monstrous bodyguard, but Keno, recovered from his paralysis.
Her back shifted and popped as it was realigned, causing a gasp of pain from the girl. She was rolled over carefully onto her back, and then lifted into the arms of her brother. Almost immediately, she turned her head and buried her face into his left shoulder, leaving muddy streaked on his tanned skin. At this point, Jade didn't care if he believed the whole battle was ridiculous, or if he disapproved of her relationship with the Tonepian or anything like that. Right now, Keno was the first shoulder she could cry on, and she did as he carried her towards Deity's corpse.
After a couple moments to regain a general composure, she lifted her head, not bothering to wipe her face that was stained with blood, dirt, and tears. They were getting close to Deity, and the sight horrified her. A hand covered her mouth to keep her from crying out, though fresh tears started forming on the rims of her eyes.
His exposed face was torn open, and his hands looked like they had gone through a meat grinder. But perhaps worse of all, was the hole in his chest where his heart had once been. Why did he have to go this far? The girl asked herself over and over. Why?
