The next course of events could be predicted by everyone present. In the distance unseen thanks to the fog of lingering dust in the air, was a loud boom. It shook the ground to indicate the introduction of another awesome power into this spectacle. However that power was aimed at neither of the Wesleys. Blasting into the ravaged clearing was the Saiyajin bodyguard Cado, already ascended into his SSJ2 transformation. He had been given orders to establish a perimeter, and to neutralize anyone that penetrated it. The Emperor gave him strict instructions not to hold back. Clearly he was following these instructions to the letter.

Glistening within his golden aura the massive man closed in on KenoTao and the General's younger sibling like a magnet. Opening his arms quickly he swung them inward in a double lariat, intending to plow through both of his targets at once.

Jade, don-- NO!!!

::That was about as far as Sir Aaron's lips had carried him by the time the young woman was already far beyond his reach, which was demonstrated by a severely delayed swing of his arm to snatch her to a stop. Obviously having missed, he let loose a frustrated growl, shifting his weight to take hold of the tiny Kaen and place her back to the ground. This is only getting worse, the Knight exclaimed to himself, passing the little foxling over to Angel like a baton in a relay. The boy grabbed her with a start, holding her with an unmistakable lack of gentleness or experience as he awkwardly kept the little woman out in front of his chest with a hopeless look aimed up at Aaron.::

Take her, keep her away.

Wh-what? You want me to just sit here and watch the baby??

..it's too dangerous!

::The Knight shouted bluntly at the former demon slayer and shook his head as he stepped up to his feet and turned, seeing the menacing figure of the monarch's personal guard homing in on his prey. Cado was a beast of a fighter by all definitions - how Taliman had managed to find such a creature and employ him was a mystery. Having mismantled the Saiya-jin prince User single-handedly without any injury to himself, it was quite possible that he would tear the girl and Keno apart. Angel - without any manner of pseudonatural ability to aid him, wouldn't stand a chance, even if his intentions were noble. Aaron's head turned back with another shout as he took off running after the others.::

Just stay here!

::Though unable to fly, his strength and huge stride enabled Sir Aaron quite a deal of ground speed... at least, compared to humans. He'd have no hope of catching up to the others if they ran off, but he was confident in his ability to hold the brute at bay. Cado was powerful, but raw force was one of the things that the old Hykanan warrior excelled at. He just needed to get ahold of him.

Meanwhile, Charade looked blandly at Kaen in his hands. He wasn't really great with children, never cared to have any of his own and overall didn't know how to handle himself around them. He made no effort at all to hide his dissatisfied sigh and the pout that chased after it.::

....well, s**t.

::Finding no reason to hold the girl up with no point behind it, he placed her down in front of him and fell to sit on his heels. He looked at her only a moment longer before his gaze rose to the battle once again. As long as she didn't wander off, he figured he didn't need to pay her any mind. It was as aggravating as ever that he was forced to the sidelines like this. Pride was one thing, but would Deity really rather place his own life - the only one he had - under such a trivial notion? Does he really have a deathwish, Angel contemplated as he watched, one hand gently stroking the hilt of one of his handguns. He didn't plan on using it, but then again his mind was far too preoccupied to notice anyway.::

Caine Saewin

"It certainly took her long enough."

A rather sadistic smirk crossed Saewin's face at the sight of his sister jumping into action. Anyone with half a brain could see she had been itching and debating back and forth about doing something. Apparently the other half of the brain was needed to realize that it would have been better to hold on to her or send her elsewhere. Jade was too caring, too nice, too....pure, to not jump in and try to save her lover.

Caine had been getting rather bored towards the end of the fight. It'd been impressive thus far, with Tybron pulling out some surprise maneuvers and Taliman losing his cool. Been a while since he was that angry, the Saiya-jin thought to himself. BUt as it got down to the rather torturous beating of the younger Wesley, it got rather dull. Sure, there was always pleasure to be had from getting your enemy to admit defeat, but sometimes it was just far to annoying to get it out of him. Tybron would never admit it, so just killing him seemed logical.

The ominous, intense power that appeared upon Jade's take-off was enough to distract the General from his employers battle. This is where it got interesting. Not many could stand up to Cado, and Tybron certainly wouldn't be able to help his woman. Maybe his father, and maybe Keno Tao would be able to help her, but they'd be hard pressed themselves.

The smirk grew into a grin. Things were interesting again.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:24 am

The scuffle in the distance went all but unnoticed by the Emperor, who pulled his eye away from Tybron only briefly. In his current state, even Taliman wouldn't have been able to hold Jade away. He had been far too weakened throughout the course of the battle to put forth any sort of fight, and his injuries only made that worse. Which is where Cado came in. The monkey powerhouse would do well with the directions he was given, leaving Taliman to deal with his stubborn brother.. who was standing up again.

Here, Tali thought, that last one would have done it. Not dead he could understand. Still in one piece he could understand. Still wanting more pain, he was at a loss. Something didn't add up. Taliman's brow furrowed, he nearly winced imagining how much it must have been hurting the boy just to stand up at that point. This wasn't a battle anymore, nor had it been for a while. Why the human scum refused to stay down was beyond Tali's comprehension.

"I don't get you...what the hell is going through your mind? You must see that you can't win.. that must be clear to you now."

One might have detected a pang of concern in Taliman's voice but it was overwhelmed by the amazed disbelief in his tone. How Tybron was even standing was a mystery in itself. Why, though, was a greater puzzle still.

Something black, red, and solid as hell had popped out right in front of her. Focused as intensely as she was on the Wesley brothers ahead, Jade had no time to react or avoid the person, ending up in a rapid rolling tumble over the ruined desert floor. She felt the unknown's arms wrap protectively around her, shielding her until they finally came to a stop.

Surprise was etched on her face at the sight of Keno releasing his grip on her, acting all cool and everything despite having unintentionally been run over by her. Hadn't he left some time before, only having intentions to attend the fight for Jade's sake, and even then leaving before the climatic parts?

The girl made to shove him back, ready to give him a sarcastic remark about looking both ways before crossing the street, as all siblings tend to do to each other. It was all in good fun. BUt before her thoughts could circle back around to Deity's situation, something far more formidable was brought to the forefront.

Power skyrocketing from her previous base state, Jade bent her head further down and pushed Keno backwards. The air vibrated above them from Cado's arms swinging together. Moving fast, Jade knew Keno could take care of himself; she just had to take care of herself and stay in one piece.

Ebony hair flashed over to bright blond in a heartbeat as she pushed herself off of Keno and underneath Cado through his legs. She slid out behind him, power still increasing as she too ascended to her second transformation state. Escaping was not an option at the moment, as it would only draw the bodyguards attention to her. Afterall, she'd still be heading for Taliman and Deity.

Having Cado's back for the brief moment, Jade took advantage of it while she could. She placed the heels of her hands together and rapidly drew a large amount of ki to them, taking an extra half a second to gather as much as she could before shifting her body forwards to slam her hands and energy into Cado's spine.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:19 pm

Being shoved onto his back might have otherwise resulted in strong words and hostile aggression, but Keno had fought the one-monkey armored battalion once before. Technically, it was User who fought, and Keno merely watched, but near the end he managed a solid punch. It was a hasty assault followed by a hasty retreat, and Keno could do much better against Tali's bodyguard, but much better only meant so much. Even if he could go blow-for-blow with the monkey, his stamina didn't hold a candle to this guy and he was pretty sure a quick kill was nigh impossible.

As Jade pushed herself behind Cado from below, Keno dug his fingers into the ground above his head and thrust himself up on his feet a short distance away. He looked worse than he felt, his clothing tattered, frayed, and a little torn as a result of his proximity from the battle. Particularly, Tali's hail of ki beams for a multi-mile radius had done a number on his pants around the hem and up the seams of the legs. His shirt was ridden with holes and he had small cuts and scrapes on his arms, most caked over with dust. Despite this unkempt appearance, he was in top form and unhindered.

"There is a very real chance Deity is about to die," he thought to Jade speculatively. "And now that Tali's monkey is after us, there is a very real chance that we might die too." Even as he held this conversation in the back of their minds, he was preparing a side stance, left side forward, his ki rising like a berserker - at an accelerated rate with each passing moment - despite the fact that he wasn't yet engaged in combat. Rather than exploding with power, he preferred the gradual approach, which was something like a physiological warm-up for the actual exercise.

"I get that you want to save Deity, but you really should have known better. Now, rather than having just one corpse to carry home, I may have two, assuming I live. At the same time, I could very easily save both of you, but I can tell you now I am not going to do that. However, I will make an honest attempt to do something, but it comes at a price." Her quickness to act was impressive, her ability to summon all that power in an instant convenient, and he moved for Cado slow enough for her attack to land first, but quick enough for his to deliver a perfectly timed follow-up; a right uppercut below the ribcage, right hand surging with enough energy to project the monkey over Jade's head, but not likely to actually hurt him.

"You have to decide right now; you or Deity. I can try to get him out of here against my better judgment, or I can try and keep this monkey here occupied long enough for you to do whatever you think is necessary." Pros and cons on both sides, he saw no reason to elaborate. To Keno it was about as fair as interfering in a private dispute could be. Deity could live, but Jade would likely die, or Keno could risk death and Jade would live, regardless of whether or not she saved her lover. Left to his own devices, Keno would simply force Jade away from the battleground, but he considered the fact that he didn't do that a kindness. Since he couldn't have his way though, she had to choose plan B.

The Emperor's faith in his bodyguard was well-grounded. Jade's lack of confidence against this beast was likewise correct. She would prove to be little hindrance to Cado. Keno while much more powerful was sure to fall as well. The main count against the Saiyajin was the Knight, the towering demon that was gradually making his way over. In this situation Cado's emotionless, obedient thought process immediately picked the scenario apart for the best possible solution.

Jade was smaller and more nimble but her attacks wouldn't prove to be any threat. KenoTao was smaller still and boasted heavier, trickier strikes. Aaron was even larger than Cado but infinitely slower, but also much more powerful. Cado couldn't afford to quarrel with the giant and simultaneously was required to subdue the two little ones. Thankfully he had time before the wolf demon reached them.

It was quickly obvious that the girl's attack had no effect. A subtle shudder was all that it elicited as Cado loomed menacingly over the tiger. The uppercut hit just as the Saiyajin's huge left hand clasped around the wrist. Strangely or not, the punch only pushed him up a few inches as he appeared to just absorb the force like an immovable wall. KenoTao would feel an odd shocking sensation here in his arm, as if suddenly jolted by a surge of electricity. The effect would be a temporary paralyzation of that limb from the bicep down rendering it for the moment incapacitated.

Following this maneuver was Cado's right palm pounding against KenoTao's chest, throwing him back. In tandem with a tug of the left wrist, the huge monkey planted his shoes, turned and swung Keno in a huge circle into Jade behind him. With the main force of this swing being that his right hand was thrusting Keno backward, he would more or less be guiding him with the captured wrist and throwing him one-handed into the girl. If successful, he'd release the limb and give chase by air.

{{Sama has the H1N1...what did I miss?}}

Amongst the darkness of the realms the ancient Devil had not moved from his perch, high above the battle field cloaked in shadows he was. Eyes pale as the moon glared down at the drama that unfolded and so many opportunities arose to end lives but he had Laws he had to follow. On earth and Gaia Samayou did not have the infinite control over Chaos as he did in the Abyss for in those realms law forbid him to use the Power of the Five Thrones. Even with out it Cado appeared to him as nothing more then a brute and Sir Aaron was an Olympian Champion in his eyes, his involvement was not needed.

If Samayou did not to involve himself in the affairs transcending below and by Law he was forbidden to do so. He could only aid Tybron when he died and ascended into the Shadows of Death, that was when Samayou could intervene.

If he did so before hand he lost that power to save him from death and so the real question was simple.

Did he want to take the chance of going Mortal and try to save Fierce before hand, or wait for his death to ensure he was reborn?

Between Kenotao and Aaron it was clear Samayou had no need to play the role of hero, if both of them happen to fall it would be up to him then. In his little vortex between Life and death Sama contemplated his options and how many lives he could save.

“Jade...what have to done.”

She did not know it but all chance of her Lover being saved might have just gone down the toilet now.

"This is just ridiculous," Keno thought to himself as his attack did virtually little. Yes, he concluded, he could launch the hulking Saiya-jin into the air, but only if he managed wanted to waste a great deal more energy to do it. Either Cado was heavier than he looked or engineered to resist a certain measure of ki.

Regardless, a nostalgic surge of what felt like electricity ran through Keno's right arm. He felt his fist loosen, limp, but he couldn't tense back up. Feeling but no control...great. Though not a complete loss, temporary immobility was never a benefit. At least he had gotten a little something out of it.

He didn't bother resisting the swinging throw. By his calculations, this maneuver would throw Keno into Jade, and hopefully both would go sailing away. While this was not ideal for a counterattack, it gave Aaron a bit more time to reach them, and less distance to cover as both siblings would be sent flying or tumbling in his general direction.

Tucking his head in toward his chest and curving his back, Keno would inevitably hit Jade unless she evaded, in which case he wasn't entirely sure what would happen to him. Would Cado let go, flail Keno around, or simply rip his arm off and use it to beat the two to death? Personally he was hoping he had guessed correctly and Cado would let go. That would be nice.

::Listening to Taliman sermonizing nearby was nearly as bad as the bleeding and the bruising and the aching and everything else that was wrong with him. Up to one knee now, Deity's head was down, allowing a steady but sluggishly dripping stream of blood to pour from his crown. He was getting a little lightheaded...which in the end probably wasn't so bad. It was a distraction from the physical aspect of this dilemma, which unfortunately did nothing to quell his regrets.

In the distance, the wounded boy took notice of the quarrel taking place with Tali's brutish bodyguard, Cado. Apparently someone had strayed too near - from the Orinian, only a mixed reaction. He hoped it wasn't Jade, as he knew she stood no hope against such an unseemly oaf. However, one small part of him wished that it was her, and that she managed to get by the guard on duty somehow. If she were closer, perhaps he'd have his chance to say goodbye.

It was strange, though - at least in his mind - that his brother seemed so intent on hearing a forfeit in the meantime. One might think he didn't actually want to do it - to kill Deity. Otherwise, why the demands? If he wanted to win why not just blow him away and be done with it? Did he desire the recognition of a "weakling" that much? Whether he did or didn't have a problem with it, it could only be so much longer before he'd beaten the boy to death.

One more push and, amazingly, Deity was back to his feet, his eyes tiredly rising to find Taliman again.::
PostPosted: Thu Nov 05, 2009 7:27 pm

Jade knew she wouldn't put much of a dent into the tank that was Cado; after all, he had beaten the snot out of User. But nothing, not even a scratch? Now that's what you call disheartening.

And of all the times for Keno to present her with a life-or-death choice, he had to do it now when it would be the most distracting. As if she wasn't already chiding herself for forgetting about Cado's presence simply because the bodyguard was out of sight. In all honesty she felt a bit bitter towards him for it. Why mention he could save both of them and then not give her the option? For the simple reason of making her take the consequences she had brought on herself.

The girl was hurt, and in her hurt she only was able to get angry at her brother for his rather flippant attitude. At the moment she didn't care if he just left her to deal with Cado alone and didn't bother with Deity. After all, she was the one who had jumped into dangerous territory, why should he get his hands dirty?

Before she could tell him to do whatever the hell he wanted, and before she had a chance to form a second attack on Cado, Keno's form suddenly filled her vision. Instinctual reaction was to catch him, and so she did, arms to either side of him and Keno's spine hitting her squarely in the chest.

The wind was knocked from her as they both went sailing backwards over the scarred battlefield, this time with Jade taking more hits on the ground than Keno. For the moment, not breaking any bones took presedence of thought over trying to save Deity. He'd have to hold out a little bit longer on his own. The girl was rather busy at the moment.

The mighty Cado hurled KenoTao into the little Saiyajin girl and kicked into a chase. However his speed was much less than theirs as they tumbled across the ground. It wouldn't be wise to let up for long if he intended to keep them away from his master's battle, so he had no waste dmotion in prepping his next maneuver. As he flew Cado rose his left arm. A bright spark of energy raced into his fingertips as he lowered to the ground and, as he came to a stop some five yards short of his targets, slapped his palm to the dirt.

An explosion of dust and rocks erupted from his hand, the ground quaking from the result of some otherwise unseen attack. The method of assault revealed itself to be numerous volatile blasts of ki spearing out of the earth at low angles, aimed at KenoTao, Jade, and Sir Aaron, racing progressively closer to them.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 06, 2009 1:26 pm

From what Keno gathered, Cado was not trying to kill anyone. At least not yet. The monkey likely assessed that he didn't have to kill them to incapacitate them, which seemed to be holding true. As it was, he didn't seem to have any qualms maiming them severely if need be.

He and Jade crashed and slid again in a role reversal of their initial collision. Trusting her not to break her hold of him, he veered upward in a forward somersault so that he could land on his feet. He touched down into a crouch and immediately launched himself and his sister into the air - left arm rising above his head - hoping to hurdle over the assault of ki blasts rising at low altitude out of the ground. His left leg was grazed in the process by one of the high risers, but it seemed harmless.

"You need to hurry up and choose," he informed his sister, who might lose herself again in the moment.

His left arm tensed and surged with energy, which multiplied and condensed rapidly. Thrusting his arm forward, a Tiger Wave raced to meet the towering Saiya-jin directly in the face.

It was his hope that regardless of the Tiger Wave, the three four-inch needles hidden within it would get caught in or pierce through Cado's face; particularly his eyes. With any luck, he'd be able to at least make this a balanced fight.

Why is it that choices that must be made in a hurry are always the hardest to make? This thought bounced around in Jade's head as much as she and Keno bounced along the ground. Thankfully, though badly dressed for the heat, her long sleeves and turtleneck kept her from getting scrapped up, though she was covered in dust and dirt now. Amazing though, how getting an earful of the stuff can clear up one's head. Her initial anger towards Keno for presenting her with such a decision was overshadowed by having the need to make the decision. One was still reached though.

"I'll go after him. I owe you."

When the Tiger had launched the two of them back into the air, with her still holding on to him, Jade had started moving then. She released her secure grip on her brother, and pushed herself up slightly until her feet were braced on his shoulders. She only spared a moment to look back down at Sir Aaron, who was approaching as fast as he could. Knowing he couldn't fly like they had to avoid Cado's attack, her face was apologetic for even getting him involved in her impulsiveness. Ah well, 20/20 hindsight, as they say.

The attack launched and Jade kicked off of Keno's shoulders, using him as a brace to get a jumpstart. Hopefully Cado would be distracted enough by the Tiger Wave to avoid catching her flying overhead only by about thirty feet. She didn't hesitate, nor look down. To do so would be to invite the behemoth Saiya-jin to chase.

Though both options were grim, Jade knew that there was only one she could chose. If she had opted to fight Cado herself while Keno went to rescue Deity, and ended up on the losing end of the deal, there was no guarantee that Deity would survive it. The girl knew her lover's nature too well. She had saved him once from himself back on Orion; if she died, who would save him then?
