Wesley spat at the ground. "Is this a joke? You're wasting my time," he snapped. Tybron wasn't fooling anyone. Simply standing without aid was becoming a task in itself. What hope could he possibly have in such a ruined condition? Taliman never would have thought his brother the prideful type.

"I want to hear it from you before I end this; you've lost, admit it."

But Tybron only stood, unwaveringly.. well okay, waveringly. Taliman's brow furrowed as he covered the distance he had sent his enemy flying over. Any being that can feel had a limit to how much pain they were willing to endure. Though admirable without question, Tybron's threshold had to exist somewhere. Tali would find it. He knew he would hear those words.

He zipped toward his brother in flight and out flew his claws. Nearly at the same time his left fingernails stabbed into his opponent's right shoulder, his right knee into his opponent's face. The attack was fierce, but the claw grab ensured Tybron went nowhere. A hard uppercut to the stomach again with the other hand and the gangly traitor would double forward. Tearing his claws from his brother's flesh, Tali clasped his fists together and with momentary pause to gather his strength, he smashed them into the side of Tybron's skull.

This impact was much more impressive, angled downward to maximize the collision with the earth.

::A series of equally daunting crashes shook the earth again, one for each crater wall that Deity's thin form broke through as he skidded across the ground. He left a sizable wake of dust and debris behind him before one of the more stubborn rocky obstacles stopped his incessant tumbling. Halfway embedded in the wall, the beaten Tonepian boy let out a violent cough - as he did, the agonizing wince that interrupted it ensured that the blood he was coughing up seeped through gritted teeth.

With a pained hiss Deity rolled out of that crack in the wall, bumping his way down until coming to rest at the base of the huge ditch he'd found himself in. This really isn't good, he stated obviously, pushing his weight up onto his bloodied left elbow. His brother didn't seem to notice the change in his eyes, so the second use of Daio-Ken was thus far unobserved. But it wouldn't do him any good if he couldn't even move anymore. Just how much fighting did he plan on doing if he was physically unable to?

I don't think I can take much more than one more attack, the boy concluded as he sat up. Things were certainly grim now. He knew, inside, that the only kind of attack that he could turn back against Tali now would be too powerful for him to survive. The only option would be to use a multiplier, which likely still wouldn't be enough...it all seemed so hopeless. Taliman was approaching now, looking impatient still.

Without a word to his brother, Deity rose with a grunt, getting back up to his feet. Winning wasn't an option anymore, and he knew it. This would be about something more.::

The Emperor closed in on his brother, now stuck in a wall of sorts. Still not dead, still showing efforts to rise again. Really? Taliman perked up on eyebrow, a gesture mimicked by both ears on the same side. What exactly did Tybron hope to achieve now? All he was doing was absorbing more punishment.

"I don't understand.. why get up?" he asked once he reentered conversational range, hovering above Tybron with a tired, quizzical expression,"There's clearly no hope anymore. Your energy shrinks with each blow. Just stay down. Stay down and accept your fate."

His words went unheeded. Again the insolent boy rose to his feet despite all signs and notions demanding that he remain prone and accept his losses. The battle was over. The traitor's doggedness was ill-advised. This was becoming intolerable.

"Persistent wretch!"

The demon ruler rose in a flash, his right knee erupting into a kick aimed for the stomach. A left palm up into the jaw opened up the abdomen for more punishment; Wesley dealt this punishment by digging himself into his brother with a rapid barrage of punches. Formless and without any finesse he tore into Tybron's ribs like a jackhammer, ending the onslaught with a right uppercut. His brother sent reeling in the air, Tali glared up but a moment. With a spark of light he vanished, reappearing high up in Tybron's path of flight. A downward left backhand lashed out, sending the defeated scum back to the ground where he belonged.

::Vision was getting fuzzy again. Each blow seemed to slow time down a bit, his sight getting blurry around the edges and squeezing in on itself each time one of Tali's fists slammed into him again. Just moving around hurt enough as it was - not only was he receiving one hell of a beating, but it was knocking him into all manner of tough, jagged objects. By this point really all Tali had to do to torture the boy was force him to play catch or something equally mundane.

So here I am, in another hole. This time he was facing up, so Deity used his legs and elbows together to sit up and push himself backward, onto a level surface again. His back felt severely bruised but thankfully not broken - the same couldn't be said for his wrist, or any number of his ribs. He felt at least two go with that knee. Once only his marred boots remained in that hole, the boy just fell back, shutting his eyes and resting his left arm across his chest.

I know it's not enough, he repeated from earlier, but it's all I can take...if he hits me again I dunno if I can even attack him. He sputtered, head bouncing off the rocky terrain. I don't know if I can attack him now.::

The Emperor approached the crash site and hovered over it, letting go a few heavy breaths. This was starting to wear him out. After that huge attack and then his own Omega Flash, he was running very low on energy and was in need of rest. The weakling wasn't dead yet but at least he wasn't getting up again. That last punch wasn't likely to have knocked any sense into him. But Wesley's knuckles were starting to get sore. This had to end soon so that he could get the medical attention that he needed on his home planet.

"This is starting to bore me, brother.. I'm warning you now. Admit defeat, or I will kill you." Through his hoarse, damaged voice his tone was still as commanding as it always was. As far as he was concerned the battle was over and had been over. But this was after all, at least for him, in part about pride. He had won, and he wanted Tybron to acknowledge it.

::Green eyes finally opened, rolling back a bit and catching sight of Taliman, hanging upside-down above him. With another groan Deity rolled, planted his elbows, and gradually stood. This needed to be a surprise. Energy absorbed by the Daio-Ken would remain concealed until used - Taliman had to believe this would be a forfeit. As such Deity's stance was...natural, actually. Naturally, he still felt like roadkill, after having been run over by passing traffic a few more times. He didn't stand straight nor did he try to, his head down and dirty hair masking his bruised face.

His chest visibly inflated with each breath as he hesitated, unsure of himself. This wasn't a try at victory anymore, he knew that. No miracle could save him now, no attack he knew of would end this in his favor. This would be no more than a statement. "I refuse. You're going to have to kill me." Taliman wanted to win and would have to go all the way in order to get it. The boy could only hope that he said it loudly and clearly enough, so that even someone with pride-clogged ears like Taliman could hear it. All it had to do was hurt him.

If anything, the attack was a surprise. His ki jumped and he himself followed suit. His legs were still in decent shape so they provided the basis of the attack. Leaping from the ground. Deity flew shoulder-first into his elder brother, slamming intentionally into the monarch's chest in a body check of sorts. A little energy was used in the jump, the rest would be used for this. As he flew over Taliman - who hopefully was at least caught off guard - the Tonepian above would glare down and with a resonating hiss and flash of his green eyes, send a blunt force kiai flat down on top of the redhead below him.

The blow would surely be enough to knock Tali off balance - and possibly to the ground - but any seasoend combatant could see it only as an attempt to hurt or annoy him. Not an attempt to defeat him. His power had only gone up so much, and he purposefully used it all for that one pass. Thankfully he saved a little for the landing, which was - considering his injured status - rather graceful. A forward flip at the peak of his jump, and he landed with a few rolls to absorb as much of his landing as possible. It still hurt his ribs like a son of a b***h, but it was better than...well, any other kind of landing.

Once he'd rolled himself to a stop, he kept one eye open, just to see what Tali might do in response. That one eye returned to its normal pale red color, the green fading away with that final move.::

What??!

When the spike of energy first occured, when Tybron first flew into action, Wesley felt fear. It lasted but an instant, but for that instant he was frightened. Frightened by what miracle Tybron might pull off next. But with the impact of that shoulder, the fear faded. No longer scared, he was instead confused, and a little disappointed. That wasn't much of anything. The blow pushed him backward, nothing else.

Just then, pain in his leg again. A heavy kiai had blasted him down and without having braced himself he landed feet first, right on his legs.

"AAAUGHH!!!"

The Emperor roared agonizingly and toppled to one side with his hands around his broken leg. That's what he was doing!! The point of this idiocy finally hit him, throwing him into another rage. Tybron wasn't trying to prepare an attack, he was absorbing attacks. That must've been how he survived the Omega Flash, by soaking up it's power as he kept hold of it. Now he was trying it again. But what hope did he have, as injured as he was?? The lunacy of it was rather hard for the ruler of Orion to rationalize.

"Have you gone mad?!!" he shouted, rolling back on the floor to look over his shoulder at his downed brother. "You've spent this entire time trying to gather energy from my attacks?? You should've known how futile that would be!"

Wesley huffed an angry breath through his nose as he sat up, planting his hands and quickly getting back into the air. He turned back to his brother a short distance away,"Give it up already!!"

::That was the end, Deity finally decided. He had used every trick in his book that he could conceivably try. Played every card, bet every cent. None of it had worked. Taliman was a shell of his former magnitude, but he was still standing and still the victor. Perhaps if Deity had a small army on his side, he could have tipped the scales a little more. Taliman had proven himself the greater of the two, but that wasn't all he wanted, was it? He wanted to humiliate his opponent before the end came.

He could beg for a forfeit all he wanted, but the quiet, bloodied boy on the ground still wouldn't dignify the royal beggar with a response. All he intended to was stand, again, to his feet. Tali'd been thrown into a fit it seemed - maybe he got the message?::

Taliman had not, as far as anyone watching had seen, noticed the change in his brother's eyes. For all he knew this was destined to continue for some untold unnecessary length of time. What was stopping Tybron from sucking up punch after punch, kick after kick, only to turn the damage energy back on Tali? Just to pester him. Only one thing would stop him the redhead realized, a few calming breaths managing to cool his nerves a little.

"You do that then. Give it another shot," he said quietly with a smile, one hand shakily trying to straighten his hair again.

"Let us see how much power you get when I've broken you into pieces."

The angry Emperor was already upon his brother, left fist crashing through the boy's ribs. He spun, a right backward punch to the face. The same hand rebounded, a hook to keep him upright. It was followed by the same courtesy from his left fist. A quick turn to the left side. He rose his right arm and with a shout blasted Tybron across the face with his elbow.

The questions weren't if he would break his brother into fragments, or if his brother would submit. It was how many, and when.

::The battered warrior didn't fly far this time. Unable to stand under such an assault he was already falling down by the time the final blow landed and as such merely staggered away, albeit in a quick and haphazard fashion. He toppled forward on his face and skidded along the dirty rocks for a couple meters, his busted hands out in front of him in a vain battle to slow himself - all it really did was make his hands ache even more. Little difference it made - the simple act of breathing made everything ache more.

His face down, Deity again used this moment to block the pain from his mind as much as he could before trying to get up again. This was becoming a little routine by now.::

"Ahaha.. no.. I don't think so."

The furious monarch muttered under his breath as he hastily hovered after Tybron, crossing the gap more quickly than he had before. This game of cat and mouse was growing tiresome. If he had any intention of forcing Tybron into submission, he couldn't allow the boy his time to rest. He couldn't give him the time needed to recover and prepare to collect more energy. He had to break him entirely.

He reached his fallen sibling and rose his right hand palm down. A combination of geokinesis and weakened telekinesis forced part of the ground to lift Tybron's head and up into the Emperor's waiting grasp. He clenched a handful of bloody locks and, focusing ki into the opposing palm, thrust his left hand into the traitor's face and unleashed hell. He fired again and again a number of small ki balls, each exploding so angrily that they threatened to tear up the hand from which they flew.

Taliman held on as long as he could. Rather as long as Tybron's hair remained rooted. The strength of the attack tore the boy prematurely from his hand, leading the last couple of spheres to soar off into space. Afterward in the middle of the smoky cloud the Emperor stood alone, hunched forward in the air with his left hand steaming in cooldown. His right hand still held a patch of black hair. The little ruler let loose an arrogant if not winded chuckle as he stood straight, waving his hand free of loose strands to his side as he followed casually after his brother again.

::So much for routine. Rudely awakened from his rest break, Deity was left in a heap several meters away this time, face up with smoke rising from his head and neck. At a glance it looked like he was bleeding from every pore in his face. Closer inspection pointed out a few particular cuts along his brow, over and under his left eye and around either cheek. Over his right eye was a little swath of skin from his forehead that had been cleanly blasted off, revealing the shiny layer underneath that did nothing but sting and bleed. Being shot in the face had it's downsides, apparently.

As bad as this was looking, there really wasn't anything he had planned. In fact, if he did have a plan, this would probably be a part of it. I could just give up, sure. The boy shook his head weakly, then quickly stopped when he thought he felt something jar itself loose. But he'll just kill me, no matter what I do. The boy reminded himself of the stipulation that this duel was to the death. Taliman could be the winner, but he'd have to settle for a plain victory, not a forfeit through blunt torture. I'll die on my feet, thank you very much. With that, and another painful effort, he nudged himself into a roll to his side and, digging his bleeding left knuckles into the dirt, started to push himself back up.

In spite of the beating he now endured, there was one pain that the boy was having the most difficult time pushing from his mind. Something he neglected to say before, something he assured her they had time for. Now, he feared, there was no time.::

((HOLY ******** SHITBALLS!!! *rapid typing sequence....GO!!))

Apparently, it was too much to hope that it would be over with Deity's beating of Taliman. Yet while this saddened the girl, it came as no shock. And neither did Taliman's threat to blow up the planet along with Deity. It was not shock, but it did scare her more than anything else before. After all, she couldn't do a thing to stop it.

Able to remain only a witness to impending doom, her green eyes remained locked on Deity as he stood alone, the only defender allowed to play the game. Had this not gone beyond just a brotherly feud now? The Emperor was involving the entire planet for crying outloud! Billions of lives were at stake all for his pride, and only Deity stood in the way of that.

And still he stood, even as the Omega Flash pushed him down into the earth, holding off the insane attack with what remained of his strength, which was nothing compared to what he had had. And yet...and yet even against all odds, when all had seemed loss there was a tiny bit of faith, of hope. And somehow it won out.

The attack when into the earth, and came out at another point. Somehow, someway, Deity had deflected it. Inside a part of Jade was cheering, screaming her head off in joy. Another was nodding her head with the kind of calm pride one gets. But other wise, the girl was still trembling. He hadn't come up yet.

After a few agonizing moments, a bloodied limb emerged. Deity hauled himself up after what was once his hands, masses on the ends of his arms that looked like they had gone through a meat grinder a few times. The girl doubted even she could save his limbs, though there was a slim chance between her and Sir Aaron both they could be.

Jade's medical planning was shoved to the side, when she saw her lover stand up once again. Has he gone insane? She thought to herself. There was nothing left, not of his ki or of his hands. How can he still stand up to fight?! A touch of anger mixed with her fear and worry with each blow that Taliman delivered to his brother. Even with Deity's final strike back, Jade found herself unable to understand. Did he really have that much of a death wish?

Why? Why push him that far? Why give up even the slightest chance he might let you live if you just give up? Was pride that important? Even as she asked herself this, Jade knew this battle was far beyond her understanding. Still, why did it have to go this far between them?

So why let it go on any longer? Save him while you can and deal with the consequences later. She cooed softly to herself, breaking through the circling waltz of questions in her mind.

Hesitation left her, thoguh fear and some anger remained. She was away and out of reach of Sir Aaron and Charrade in a heartbeat, her ki rising rapidly and adding to her propulsion. Fast, faster, as fast as possible. Before Taliman reaches him again. Get Deity out of there, or at least get between them. Attack only if you need to. Just get there.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:04 pm

Unfortunately for Jade, her thoughts were probably interpreted a bit differently...

"Fast, faster, as fast as possible. Before Taliman reaches him again. Get Deity out of there, or at least get between them. Attack only if you need to. Just get there-"

Now before any other thought could form itself, that train would come to a screeching halt. Well...not so much screeching as crashing, tumbling, and sliding. She might have been out of Sir Aaron and Charade's reach, and Caine was probably not disposed to stop her from getting her a** kicked, but Keno could still prove an unintentional obstacle, which he did quite effectively.

As Jade took off, the others, likely watching the near end-result of the Wesley bout, would probably see a large glowing ring of black and red energy appear a couple hundred yards ahead of them. Out of this ring stepped a relatively short figure clad in black, but all most of the onlookers would see is Jade crashing into said figure, who had inadvertently stepped into her path of flight. The result would be both individuals tumbling haphazardly along the scoured dessert floor, accompanied by a series of confused grunts and oofs. Fortunately for Jade, the person she recklessly ran into was prone to keeping her unharmed, and went out of his way to make sure that he hit the ground as often as possible in her place. Indeed, by the time they were sliding to a stop, he had her head cradled against his chest and her arms held as close to her waist as possible.

Gazing absently at the sky, Keno sighed as though he were telling some invisible specter, 'This is what I go through.' Slowly releasing Jade from his protective hold, he pushed his left hand into her hip gently and muttered, "You mind getting off of me?" as though it inconvenienced him to no end to have to deal with her added weight. Whether unconcerned or oblivious to their situation, he didn't seem all that worried about the fact that they were both a couple hundred yards within the designated boundaries of the Wesley brothers ordeal, and that said location would likely not end pleasantly for either of them.

After a brilliant display of heroism from a man coated in black, obviously saving the younger girl from certain annihilation. It had been made perfectly clear that this match was not to be interrupted. Two brothers, two combatants, one victor. It was only fair, right?

Wrong. It had gone on nearly since the beginning, a slow torture of the black haired warrior known as Deity. He'd wound up having a few tricks up his sleeve, and the stranger had hope for the seemingly young man. But his fire was slowly burning out. It seemed as though it were only a matter of time until the redheaded fox ultimately destroyed his younger sibling.
The mere thought of something as heinous as wiping out one's own kin made the outsider's skin crawl.

But as he realized just how close they had gotten to the battle, the stranger feared for unnecessary casualties. Sure, the girl shouldn't have gone to interfere, but he didn't get the sense that the mammoth of a bodyguard would be so forgiving. But people had been wrong before.

Either way, he wasn't entirely sure what he would do if anything happened that put either of the two had-been spectators, but just like the girl, he felt blinded by emotion. Though he didn't know these people, he felt some sort of bond with them. He would protect them, or die trying. Perhaps that was a purpose for the fallen star.
