The Fierce Deity Vice Captain

::Longer and longer he pushed back up, Deity's arms beyond the definition of sore. Searingly burning pains were coursing through his nerves as he focused the entirety of his energy into his hands to maintain his defensive stance. The friction was starting a white hot flame of energy around his fingers as laserlike shreds of the Flash pierced inbetween them, stabbing into the ground around the Orinian's legs. The flesh of his palms was being ground away, and he could only close his eyes and try to ignore it. The boy fell to one knee, which quickly started to sink into the stone as it gave way beneath the weight. It's not enough, he silently cried, it's not enough yet!!
But down it came, ready or not. When the bulk of the attack landed, there was no more epic struggle. No more energy to throw back and hold it steady. The instant it hit the fantastic starburst disappeared and Deity was replaced by a short plume of dust and rocks as he was kicked right into the planet. The narrow beam of energy continued to flow down into the planet for but a fraction of a second, crushing the boy underneath it. Then what happened? A single, astonishing spike of energy. Massive, sudden, and sharp. The Tonepian's power multiplied again, more so than it ever had before. It was gone as soon as it had happened - just afterward there was another short-lived burst of dirt into the sky. The business end of the Omega Flash, soaring back out of the planet at a steep angle, heading harmlessly for outer space.
Somehow, some way, Deity had deflected it.::

First stunned, now thoroughly stricken dumb. Wait what...? Wesley now hovered in the air, drained even further of his power, his trembling hands frozen in front of him as though still firing his attack. He watched helplessly as his beloved technique disappeared into the vastness of the night above. He'd lost hold of it once it was turned away.
"...um.. what just happened?" He was asking no specific person in particular. It just didn't make any sense for a maneuver of such potency to be bounced away. It was engineered specifically to tear through anything it hit barring only the densest matter.
He remained still only a short time, then refocused his attention on the matter at hand. Looking down, he saw nobody. Only two holes in the earth partially obscured by pillars of dust. He growled a little. He was understandably confused, angry. This battle was becoming far more taxing than he'd imagined it would be. He hadn't even suspected Tybron could survive his full power, but here he was nearly drained of energy himself. Grumbling some foreign curse to himself the Emperor began his descent.
"Uhhg.. used up a lot of power on that one," he moaned returning softly to the ground. Well, hovering just above it. Leg broken, right. "I didn't think he would catch it, much less divert it..."
With an impatient wave of one hand he willed the dust away from the area and approached the first of the two ditches in the battleground. He leaned down, brow furrowed, waiting for some sign of life. There was no explanation to account for the Omega Flash bouncing off of the planet the way it did. Nor that sudden rise of power under the earth. Except of course for Tybron having truly created a miracle and redirecting it. Which was impossible for someone at his level. If that traitor still lived, the demon Emperor would beat an answer out of him.

<>::The battlefield was quiet for nearly a minute. There was no sign of Deity up until one of his hands finally emerged from the smoking wreckage of rocks and dirt. Well, what once was one of his hands. The flesh of his palm seemed as though it had been torn up up violently before being burned against a hot stove. His fingers seemed unsettlingly smaller due to the lightened load of flesh upon them - both his mangled hands and his forearms were stained with dirt-clotted blood.
But he was alive - ruined, but alive - exhibiting a deliberate will to survive in spite of the odds. The downside - of course - was that the defiant Orinian had crippled both hands. He could no longer sustain his ascended level, and thus had returned to his normal status. With hardly any ki left and numerous wounds, Deity grabbed up a handful of dirt and pulled himself up and out of the hole in the ground, emanating a sharp whine of pain before toppling forward and onto his chest. Heavy breaths fanned the dusty ground as his face planted against it, feeling as though he'd just climbed ten mountains. That was everything, he said with certainty, the pain in his very core assuring him of that fact. I dunno what else there is...
Though happy that he'd spared Earth, he was at Taliman's mercy now - he had as much time to think of a plan as his brother did to kill him.::

Wesley's brow furrowed in direct proportion to the widening of his blue eye in disbelief. The idiot wasn't even unconscious! And here he was, weak as a puppy again. I don't buy this. Not for one second was Taliman going to fall for the same trick again. Each time he assumed Tybron was defeated he performed some awe-inspiring miracle and swung himself back into the fight. Not this time.
The Emperor kept his distance this time, hovering away a few yards,"Good show boy, I'm truly impressed."
He tilted his head to one side as he inspected his clearly suffering younger brother. There wasn't much left of his hands. Disregarding this factor Tali continued,"Your power inflated a considerable deal just before I lost control of the attack. How did you do that?"
Usually he would strike some manner of pose to further establish his superiority here. Looming over Tybron in some manner of victorious stature. But everything hurt. The burn on his right hand now paled in comparison to the rest of his body, not to mention his snapped leg. He made due merely hanging lazily in the air.

::No answer.
The boy just lied on the ground, panting little puffs of dust away from his face as he did his best to get his focus away from the unrelenting pain. Don't worry about your hands, he tried to convince himself. Just make it out of this alive, you can fix your hands. Truth told, Deity wasn't concerned with the long term consequences of having no hands. He was as one may have guessed just in agony that his hands had been nearly ripped off in the first place.
Several seconds passed and there was still no answer. Instead, the Orinian pulled his arms up and, with a wince, dug his elbows down and put forth the effort to rise from the ground. Ducking his head down, sweat and blood dripped from his face as he pushed up and - eventually - to his knees. Finally his head rose and he looked upon his still-daunting brother. Deity's eyes had returned to their traditional red shade, no longer the green hue from before. He made known no intent to attack again.::

"Fine, so don't tell me," Tali snapped. "I advise you not to hold out any longer. I'm growing weary and my patience is running thin."
Wesley glared down at Tybron, unsure of what he should do. He was far beyond the point of being annoyed with his brother and his antics. Weakling traitor. He wasn't worth all of this effort. No human was. The little demon rose his left hand and combed through his messy hair, a vain try at properly covering his damaged face once again.
"If you have any more power hiding away I want to see it now."

::Deity huffed and he puffed...but he didn't do much else. His lanky body was slouching a good ways, damaged arms hanging limp in front of his torso as his head fought to stay up. The boy had lost a considerable amount of blood and had absorbed too many wounds to be bothered keeping track of them, and on top of it was simply out of power. The Daio-Ken had saved him, but it'd also doomed him.
An ancient power he'd learned around the same time that he discovered the secret to returning to normal his devil form, the Daio-Ken technique briefly amplified one's defenses and allowed them to absorb malignant energy. Once it reached a specific level it could be multiplied and accessed in one burst, until it was gone. The quiet Orinian had tried to use it much earlier, but the technique took much longer to initiate than he'd have hoped. In this instance, Deity focused all of his power into holding the attack, absorbing the damage to his hands. In order to deflect the Flash he had to multiply the received energy by ten times, resulting in that massive ki spike.
But now it was all gone. Using such a high level of Daio-Ken simultaneously with the Level 5 state had reduced his body to shambles, even disregarding his crippled hands. If only I'd listened earlier, the boy regretted silently, finally standing up as straight as he could. Another Daio-Ken is plausible...but he's still so powerful, I don't...
Deity squinted one eye shut as a subtle shift in his weight caused a throb of pain in his broken right wrist. He sighed painfully as he eyed his increasingly impatient elder brother. Only one thing he could do. He wouldn't just let me go, after that....and if I lose, I die...
Swallowing down a heavy whimper, the boy shifted his right leg back and braced himself, putting one shoulder forward. At this time, his eyes returned to a jade green hue once more. If one knew no better, they'd say he was actually willing to continue.::

"You can't be serious," was all he could say,"Your ki has shriveled and you're no longer in any shape to fight me. Give up while you can."
Was the Emperor being sincere? Would he just let Tybron go if he forfeited the match? Not likely. In all probablity he was just giving his little brother an out to avoid more pain than was necessary. Any other person superhuman or not would rather be in a hospital bed than a fight in his condition. Some might even rather be dead than endure so much. Yet there he was, egging Tali on. Weakling b*****d.
"Very well," he snapped angrily, and quickly he swooped in with a boot to Tybron's face. The blow would kick the boy off his feet, and with a quick left turn Wesley would send a second side kick into his enemy's abdomen. Normally a potent maneuver, he had lost so much power that at best it would just stun Tybron against the Emperor's boot. Realizing this, Wesley instantly followed that by pulling his leg back and slugging his brother in the face with a hard left hook.
The hit would be just enough for Tybron to clear the hole he'd just dug himself out of, so Tali needed something with a bit more punch. No pun. He swung his body into the motion of the attack, raising his right hand with his first two fingers together. In a snap he charged a small amount of ki and swung his arm with a spin, releasing four ki balls at once. Aimed over a wide range they all collided with the ground, but the small blasts they caused would be enough to salt his brother's wounds some more.

::As one might have expected, Deity didn't actually do much here aside from get beaten around like a dammit doll. Little bits of blood and saliva splattered about as he was punted and kicked and punched and blasted away, his injured body bouncing across the ruined landscape only a short distance after emerging from the smoke of Taliman's attack.
Rolling along for a bit, the boy was still for only a few moments. Gradually, he sat, turned, and forced himself onto his feet again. Of course he immediately dropped again, his elbows to his knees as he hunched forth and coughed up a messy wad of blood. His back visibly pulsed as his eyes squeezed shut, heavy breaths trying to calm him. But sure enough, he opened his green eyes and aimed them at his brother once more.
Defiantly he stood, unwilling to go down.::
