The Fierce Deity Vice Captain

::That was unexpected. The tall Orinian growled as he forced his strength into the Eraser, begging it to overtake the emperor in the clouds. Didn't think the b*****d would catch the damn thing, he cursed in his head. He must be trying to deflect it. With this conclusion, the boy did his best to keep it from happening. He pushed, pushed more, then pushed even more of his power into the beam. Anyone trying to push the attack aside would find it increasingly difficult to manage - he wasn't having any of it. The Eraser wasn't going anywher--
GWWOOOOOMMMM
::The sudden nature of the attack's death caught the boy by surprise, his glowing eyes widening as he craned his neck straight and looked up at it. The explosion rocked toward him, and instinctively he threw his arms up and over his head to shield himself; at his current level of power he needed only minimal effort to stay airborne, but it was still a stronger force than any he would ever experience in flight. Simply being huge and scary wasn't the extent of this explosion's traits. It literally dug down into the planet - as high as the two fighters were, the blast still carved a huge crater into the Earth below.
As the dull hum of the fireball faded, he pulled his shivering hands from his face to see the huge red mushroom cloud that replaced what once was a twilight sky. His aura was gone now, his ki having shrunk marginally. His hands had grown numb from the pressure needed to hold that attack on course, and his arms were tired and throbbing. But, after all that, had it worked? He couldn't sense Taliman amidst the huge amount of ki still lingering in the air - was he still up there or what?
The tall boy swallowed hard. He wasn't an idiot. He'd noticed the diverted path of the blast. He might've been trying to deflect it, Deity thought, and the attack got the better of him. Yeah, maybe that was it. Part of the Tonepian was buying this early theory, but the most of him was trying to convince the rest of him that it was wishful thinking. It was a lucky break to catch Tali off guard, but one slip wasn't enough to take him down.
For now, Deity looked down and around, trying to catch a glimpse of any of the others down below. Even being on the other side of the planet wouldn't have saved someone from the seismic activity caused by that attack - being so close as his friends were could be deadly, if one wasn't on their toes. Father's with them, he assured himself, struggling to bring himself back to the matter at hand. If his father was there, his friends would be safe. It was important that they remained vigilant, because Deity wasn't in the clear yet.
He knew this wasn't over. He was just waiting to survey the damage. What he saw next would decide his standing in this battle.::

[I can say, I feel the same way, Ichi.]
The huge grin plastered across the Saiya-jin General's face clearly gave away his nature to anyone watching the same spectacle he was. As the fight had grown into epic proportions, Caine has also let his power rise. He forced his aura in front of him, blocking the brunt of the forces berating him while crossing his arms in front of his face for added protection.
Sand, rocks, dust and debris still penetrated his defense from the massive explosion overhead. They turned his weathered skin raw in some places and cut through it in others, being that he wore only a tank-top, pant, boots and bandanna as cover. Stinging sand blew into fresh wounds, congealing in the blood, but still the warrior took no notice.
His dual colored eyes were bright with the light of battle, adrenaline pumping through his body. How long had it been since he witnessed Taliman fighting for his life? Had he ever even seen it from his employer? Sparring was one thing, but one never truly got the thrill for battle until their life was on the line. Even just witnessing this battle rekindled his warrior spirit, reawakening his race's natural thirst for blood and battle.
Words the Princling User had said long ago came unbidden to his mind. Perhaps he had gone a bit soft as Taliman's General High Commander. He still trained and worked with the troopes, but training to get stronger was not the same as fighting for your life. The next chance that came available to fight such as this, Saewin was going to take. That is, if he didn't make it happen himself first.
His battle blood pumping hungrily through his veins, Caine waited to see if his boss would emerge from the fireball above. Depending on whether he had survived or not could change his fate. After all, he had a ship that could survive space. Maybe he'd go and ravage a distance planet or two?

::Sir Aaron's barrier was well worth its salt. The psionic shell had weathered the obscenely destructive forces that were tearing the land apart around them. However, the land around them indeed was not doing much in the way of weathering. In order to keep steady the Knight had now hoisted the group of four into the sky, the earth below them having vanished into a cloud of fire and dirt. Visibility had dropped significantly, but the winded, dark-haired brother hovered in a lazily-drifting pocket that was clear of smoke.::
That could've obliterated this planet...he wasn't holding anything back on it.
::The big wolf's tone was somewhat dire, his green eyes watching his youngest son. The Crimson Eraser was a powerful maneuver, but to use it at Deity's current level was another issue entirely. Clearly it was meant to tear through Taliman and kill him outright, and it showed in that the explosion tore the planet asunder, forcing the nearest spectators away from the rapidly-disappearing battleground. That might have been his trump card, the old man pointed out. As Deity feared, Aaron knew that it wasn't over. If Taliman had been killed or heavily wounded, the attack would not have reacted the way it had. In fact, the Knight foresaw that the worst had yet to come.
Angellus on the other hand lay stilled, speechless at the ancient one's feet, again knocked onto his rump by the blast force above. He'd had to switch off his energy gauge, the computer was having a hard time calculating the large quantities of power in the atmosphere. He, too, it seemed, was growing wary of how dangerous this was becoming. How far could the demon power of the Orinians carry this duel? If something of that magnitude did not conclude the confrontation...what would?::

The air was as thick with smoke and debris as it was with the ki leftover from the Eraser impact. Similar to how a curtain of watery mist rises from around a large waterfall as the liquid crashes down, the ki wave "splashing" against the Emperor's hand before popping like a balloon had a similar outcome. It was so palpable that it accomplished masking even Taliman's enormous ki. However the smoke faded faster than the excess energy did.
Though the entire sky took on an ominous brown-red tint as the ki-fire-oriented mushroom cloud pervaded the atmosphere, a distinct figure could be seen emerging from the mass of rising smoke. Far less amused than he was only a few moments ago was Wesley, his chest heaving as he fought to catch his breath. His right hand was stained red with blood, though whatever bleeding had occured seemed to have stopped. The right side of his tunic had been burned away, revealing the fresh new pattern of burns and raw patches that tattooed his shoulder and arm. His hair and fur were frazzled quite a bit, a look shared by the burned patches on his clothes that remained intact.
The demon emperor's one blue eye was looking down at his brother, the last traces of fright and uncertainty fading from his expression. He clearly had not intended to leave himself open in such a manner. Taliman knew he was lucky he wasn't dead. Just now. Tybron was trying to kill him. This thought ran through many times his head as he raised his hand and examined his newly scarred palm. His fingers clenched halfway with a shudder, his hand missing a layer of skin and thus looking pink and glossy. No pain. The friction had burned away the nerves in his hand. That was too close...
His hand fell to his side and Wesley began drifting calmly downward to have words with his estranged sibling. As he did he continued replaying the event in his mind. No, he hadn't failed to divert the attack as Tybron guessed. If he'd tried that he surely would be dead. No, he was intentionally trying to set it off. He thought if he could stall the wave and strengthen his defenses, he could safely send the bulk of the explosion in the opposite direction. Fortunately for him, he was right. He still took some damage however, and protecting himself from what was intended to be a killing move had drained him of some of his power.
"You waited until my concentration was on my own attack," he said once he was within earshot, descending to reach eye level with his brother,"...not very careful of me."
Taliman's chest pulsed a little less noticably now, his breathing calmed again. Even after that both of the brothers' powers were massive, but there was finally a noticable difference. Taliman hadn't exerted as much energy blocking the attack as Tybron had expended firing it.
"Quite a punch you can pack, brother. You gave me a scare."
His left hand rose, tattered sleeve hanging around his elbow as his fingers combed delicately through his vermillion locks. He was speaking honestly in that he had been frightened by his own temporary blindness to danger. All of that fear was gone though, which was evident in his voice.
"I imagine however that this is as much as you can do with your power." < >

((Ichi will have lots to read now. ^ ^))
Her ears were still ringing from the noise of the explosion, having focused all of her senses towards the battle. The woman's vision was popped with bright spots from the resulting flash before she had instinctively closed them against it. Again, Jade was grateful for Sir Aaron's firm hand holding her back and his shield around them. Otherwise, she'd have been blown across the desert by now.
"...Then what does he have left...?"
There was an obvious worried tone in her voice, knowing how powerful that attack was, and realizing that it still hadn't been enough to finish the fight. This was confirmed by the distant sight of Taliman, still intact for the most part, emerging from the smoke that had engulfed him. Too far away for words to carry, Jade tensed a little when she saw the Emperor drawing closer to Deity.
A certain thrill went through part of her, however, as she was reminded that she was in a relationship with one of these men. That Kirra had never let up on her thirst for knowledge or power, and the sight of these two battling had done nothing to quench that thirst within her alter ego. Even Jade knew that part of the reason her heart was pounding so quickly was the thrill of the fight, the sight of blood and of the two brothers going all out to the death. It thrilled and frightened her all at once.

::I can't believe it, the boy uttered to himself silently as he watched his devious brother descending upon him. All that, and he...
He swallowed heavily again. This time it felt like he was downing a gallon of gasoline in one gulp. He thought he'd do more than that. A burned hand is okay, sure. He lost some of his ki, fine. But in the long run these weren't even noticable setbacks. Deity knew when the Eraser detonated that it hadn't done what he intended it to do, but he was hoping for more than a little charred flesh.::
...it didn't hurt him at all. Maybe he really isn't using his full power...
::That horrible realization hit harder than he really wanted it to. When the fight began, when Taliman claimed to be holding back. In the heat of the moment Deity shrugged it off, disregarded it as trash talk. But now, now. The quiet Orinian curled his trembling hands into fists now, unsure of how to approach his situation. He really wasn't bluffing, he added finally, pulling his arms in close as he tried to prepare himself for whatever it was Taliman had in store for him next.::

"As I understand it, you can only stay in your current state for a short time," the Emperor said with a mocking tone, a smile tugging at one side of his mouth. "Such is only natural for a human."
He knew well his main advantage over Tybron. His full power was his to enjoy, while his brother's was borrowed. Tybron had a time limit, as a human body was unable to withstand the nature of demonic ki. He'd damned himself to an eternity of weakness when he fell from grace and became one of "them." So while it made him weaker it of course made it more fun to show him up. The horrified look on his face would make everything worth it.
"I think I should bring this to a close now," the small man said, pulling his arms and legs into his body and folding them across his torso,"before you punch yourself out."
Already his ki began to rise again. While he had spent a good deal of it thus far if what Taliman boasted earlier was to be believed, his full power was more than twice what he currently had on display. His power rose slowly, the air around him beginning to ripple and warp at the hand of unseen forces. This time he was drawing it out bit by bit, for now. He wanted to make this last. To give Tybron a few more precious moments to stew in the consequences of his mistake, a mistake made by countless enemies before him. The only difference would be that this enemy would be the greatest to ever make that mistake.
The mistake of challenging the great Taliman Wesley.
"It's been fun," the Emperor stated ominously, his eye taking on a purple hue as he glared over his crossed forearms.
That familiarly daunting increase in power happened again, having nearly the exact same effect as last time. A spherical dome of force made a mockery of the planet by rocking the foundations once again, making this battle seem more and more hazardous to spectate. Anyone not already ducking for cover at this point was either dead or silly. The cloud of smoke and debris from the previous explosion would be warped and twisted but would hover still in the air, maintaining the unseemly red tint over the battered desert battlefield.
It was over as quickly as it had begun. Still no aura was present; there was no need for one. Taliman hovered serenely in the silenced red sky, his arms and legs relaxed again. The air around him still rippled, but not visibly. It was a sensory perception unrelated to the eyes. Anyone that could sense the ki of living things would find this monster hard to describe. For most his energy would be beyond comprehension. "Staggering" came to mind. The most amazing fact was that he was indeed relaxed. No tension could be seen or sensed otherwise. This was in fact his natural strength.
At long last, the Emperor had shown his true power. The purple glow died, returning the known sapphire shade to his solitary eye as he tilted his head and examined Tybron's reaction. He wanted to enjoy this a moment longer.

::Like anyone else would, the quiet Tonepian threw his arms up in defense against the incidental onslaught. He curled himself somewhat to brace for the impact of sorts, being thrown roughly backward through the air - he managed to slow himself and stay airborne despite his close proximity to the demon monarch. While not as intense as the explosion that had just transpired, it was still not a gentle experience.
When the proverbial dust had settled - while the literal dust had done anything but - the half-spent Deity lowered his arms and let his widening crimson eyes fall upon Taliman again. He didn't have any words for it. His jaw hung loosely open as he stared up, his expression a seamless blend of humble amazement and frozen terror. If this were anyone else he would praise their apparent natural strength, a strength so massive he wasn't sure he'd ever felt anything like it.
But this wasn't anyone else. This was Taliman, his demon brother that wanted to kill him. This was a deathmatch. With a power like that, what exactly did anyone expect him to do? Walls can only be built so high before they're deemed impassable. A feeling of terror hit him without any build up, without any warning sign, fear welling up inside of him like water in a busted faucet. It was the first and only thought that dropped heavily upon his awestruck mind, his arms hanging in the air, unable to move.
I'm gonna die.::

He was right. That delicious look of horror was worth the wait.
Wesley's bloodied mouth curved in a wide closed-lip grin. Now, as they say, the fun would begin. At his natural power he could end this in a single blow. Tybron could barely stack up to a third of Taliman's strength by this point. But what fun would that be? This traitorous weakling would feel every miniscule ounce of pain he'd brought upon himself. It would serve as both Wesley's vengeance and a testament to his power. Glorious.
The little Emperor calmly tucked his hands under his shoulders as he folded his arms. With his hand hurt as it was he didn't want to use it in combat any longer so he thought it best to remove the temptation and take his arms from the equation. After completing this simple gesture, he was off. Like a violet bolt Taliman's aura screamed to life as he tore after Tybron head-first with a ram-like headbutt. It wasn't his most subtle intro but it would serve the purpose of demonstrating his newfound aerial quickness.

::Suddenly, ow. Both eyes winced shut as Deity was blown away by his brother's attack. Didn't even see it coming, he remarked as he strained to recover himself. Half of it was the shock of his current predicament, the rest of Taliman's higher speed. Physically the smaller of the two was actually slower, but in flight it was power that determined speed, not agility. It was crushingly obvious that Taliman could fly circles around him now.
Deity's aura flared back to life with a mighty red flash as he stopped himself, left hand rising to nurse the impact on his chest from the blow. He'd be a fool to approach at the moment - he was better off fighting defensively and warding off attacks. Curling his right arm to his side and shifting his left side forward, he threw a left guard up and peeked at his brother from behind it. His fingers shook still - he clenched his hands into fists to try and quiet his anxiety.::

Tali recovered from his headbutt seamlessly with a forward tumble, progressing only a few feet more whereas Tybron had been blasted back some distance. With no counterattack on the way he naturally continued forth in a similar fashion with a second attack. This time he flew in upright, his arms still folded comfortably around his chest. The Emperor's second attack began with a simple roundhouse. His right foot whirled violently toward his brother's head, aimed rather high for an advancing strike.

::Hurriedly ducking, Deity found the second attack somewhat easier to avoid as his initial shock was wearing off. Perhaps if he could simply stay alive long enough, he might yet have a chance at survival. There was one trick up his sleeve that Taliman didn't know about. All the boy needed to do was survive.
After steering himself clear of that kick, the quiet Orinian backpedalled - so to speak - to further himself voluntarily from the vicious ruler in front of him. He had to play keepaway for a moment in order for this to work.::
