In a flash of light pinky smoke, a familiar woman appeared in the lounge of the Club. She wore a pair of jeans, and a purple argyle sweater, popped collar and all. Feet were adorned by black prada shoes, and one might notice the lack of jewelery on the woman. One look at the disheveled, messed up black, light curls and the extra appendage tugging at, one would understand.
In one arm was a 3 year old boy, thumb in mouth, tail around his waist, as he snoozed away. Crawling up her other arm was his twin sister, pulling at everything Merena wore, but loved her hair the most. Every now and then her small white wings fluttered as she tried to grab hair on the other side of Merena's face, and then the woman, had to pull her back, just as the child started to fall, unable to use her wings properly.
Merena, a little annoyed at her daughter, looked Shaina straight in her mismatched eyes, and spoke firmly "My dear, stop pulling or its straight into time out for you!" Shaina pouted angrily, but stopped. She was three, and still a rebellious little girl, but understood her mother when she threatened time out.
With a sigh, Merena sat down on a couch, letting Shaina look around, although she had one hand wrapped around the childs, to make sure she didnt run off anywhere. As she sat down, Vincent woke up with a yawn. Everything was still work work work for the Princess it would seem.

The Fierce Deity Vice Captain
|
Posted: Mon Apr 06, 2009 9:02 pm
::As everyone flooded into the building, the owner himself paused only a step away from the unnamed stranger, just away from the threshold as he glanced back toward Samayou. His expression was an unspoken query on if the devil truly wished to stay out - it wasn't his job to wait for the warrior soon to arrive. Indeed, neither the Orinian nor the man of black had any problem with staying out in the cold - Deity built his home in this place for a reason - but that alone did not hold any concerns at bay.
After only a brief pause the boy turned and stepped into his home with a gracious nod to the silver-haired stranger. Five other people were inside now, and only two of them he recognized. Epithany - better known by her nickname 'Pith' - and his beloved Jade were there to greet the inflow of people. The other three entities were out of sight in the lounge - two of them were obviously children, but this didn't change the fact that they were strangers. Deity let that drift into the back of his mind for the moment as he offered a shallow bow in greeting to Pith, who seemed to be tinkering away on another one of her metaphysical contraptions.
Afterward his gaze found Jade, who smelled of water, shampoo, worry and mild distress. Her mind had been on a marathon and he knew it. It wouldn't have been as bad if Taliman had already shown up, but as it was he was late. Deity had not one single doubt in his mind that his brother would show; he simply didn't know what the hold up was.
There was a silence there, as Deity didn't take his hidden red eyes away from the young Saiya-jin woman. She knew from only the pause that his mind was reflecting on their situation. There was so much she wanted to tell him. Just in case. "What if..." he heard her start to say so many times the day before. He or she would always still her lips and carry the conversation elsewhere, but he knew that she never let the thought leave her mind. "What if you die?" It was a hard question to ask, especially when every essence of your being dreaded nothing more than such a happenstance.
Deity imagined that his lover had spent a good deal of the night trying to think of some way to bring it up, something pithy to express to him before he headed into battle. Likewise, he himself spent a good deal of the night trying to think of some way to avoid it. They would have tomorrow, and he didn't want Jade to think otherwise.
The quiet Tonepian managed a gentle smile after a moment, a faint reassurance that he wasn't worried. He slipped his fingers down into the pockets of his jeans as he stepped aimlessly into the room, helping to make way for others to enter the building and greet everyone around them. He didn't know if he would be waiting two minutes or two hours, ergo he didn't make any attempt to sit down or keep busy with anything.::

Her predictions seemed to ring truer than she thought as the impromptu visage of a pink cloud of smoke erupted within the lounge a short distance away. Blinking at the odd display her brow knitted together as she attempted to make out the familiar form within the dissipating mass.
"Merena...?"
Though she was sure the mother of two would likely have forgotten her over the years. The quantum mage had fond memories of her arrival at the club and being greeted by the moon princess.
"Wow this is an interesting occurrence today. Now if Michiru, and Reya were to pop out of the woodwork this would really be a reunion."
Dismissing her runar console with a wave of her hand, the construct proceeded to fade with an distinct fading of light. The air was once again culled of the static crackle of flowing mana.
"I remember when you were with child...now look at the two of them. Geez time flies."
Making her way across the room she knelt down before the pouting little girl. Speaking a sing song voice she addressed the child.
"My have you grown since I last saw you. What might your name be?"

Jade smiled at Eptihany, and gave a bit of a laugh, albeit a half-hearted one, at the other woman's reaction to her own greeting. Strange, how when someone asked how you were doing, they didn't really want to know, and just used it as a greeting. This was a prime example of how an overused phrase for greeting could turn around and bite you if one already knew how the other was doing.
Anyways.
Jade would have said something in response to the mage, but as the other woman pointed out, the doors to the Club opened and everyone slowly made their way inside. Kenta and his girl, Chrissy (she believed), were first, and then a silver-haired stranger. The Saiya-jin looked at him with curiosity, until her nephew from the future greeted her. As sorely tempted as she was to ask about how this battle worked out in his future, Jade did not. Best to let things play out as they should.
"Hello again, Kenta-kun, Chrissy-chan." She smiled at the two of them, recognizing something familiar between them. Maybe it was a bit of herself, a few years ago.
Before she could get further into conversation, a cloud of pinkish smoke emerged from the lounge, and a few familiar energies appeared. Merena, with her children, Jade's niece and nephew by blood. How long had it been? The babies must be grown by now, and Jade silently hoped they didn't have much of their father's personality. Speaking of their father, the woman wondered if Caine would show? It was unlikely he'd miss this, if he knew about it. But with Merena here now....what would that entail between them?
Epithany stood to go and greet the moon princess and her children, and though Jade would love to see her old friend, it would also mean she'd have to explain what was about to happen. And she wasn't sure she could handle that right now. It wasn't easy keeping a strong front on, when one was almost falling apart on the inside.
Her green eyes moved away from the lounge, and found the red gaze of Deity on her, shortly followed by a gentle smile. How was it he turned into the optimist now, when he had always been the realistic one to bring Jade back from 'everything is going to be alright and okay.'? Somehow, they had switched roles, and Jade was the one who kept seeing the danger, kept seeing the aftermath of the worst case scenario. Well, this is enough of that! She thought to herself.
She smiled back at him and gave a small wave, though she didn't say anything. After all, the girl was still standing with her nephew. Thing would work out. They always did, right?

Once everyone had moved inside he shut the door and the cold wind hit hard. Breezing against his large frame as the snow kicked up into his cloth covered face. He smiled at the winter cold and laughed at the brisk air as he stood arms crossed and waiting. He stood before the door like a black guardian and for brief periods of time he recalled small things he wish he had done before. The main subject running through his mind was The Ashatar and why he had received the letter, more importantly what had happened to the research team and why was he being called in. If they had searched every nook and cranny and not found them then chances where Samayou was the only one who could. His memory of the temple layout and nose for tracking would be the only thing to get the remains of the first team out as well as all of the second that would go in to find them.

Merena's eyes gazed towards the door, as people came in. A small smile came to her lips, but she could sense the tension amongst the people, and knew that something was wrong with Jade the most. She didn't know what it was, but figured her friend would tell her when the time was right. Her smile grew though as Epithany moved over towards them. "Hi Epithany, yes these two are but the young babes from a few years past" she nodded to both, and the two children waved to the new woman.
Shaina tilted her head towards the older woman she didn't know. She crossed her arms over her black and pink striped jumper, for she was developing character at this age, and had seen her mother do this plenty of times.... She smiled at her though and said cheerfully "I'm Shaina!"
Vincent, in black and light blue striped overalls, with a white collared shirt underneath, moved his tail happily at the sight of the new person, and quickly chimed in after his sister, "I'm Vincent!" He then climbed down from his seat with Merena and stood next to Shaina. You could tell the two were twins, from the matching, black hair, although Vincent's was curlier, and Shaina's was almost poker straight except for the baby curls she still owned. They both had mismatching eyes, albeit they were a bit different from each other. And they both had the same cute adorable face with a button nose. Although one could tell which child took on which parent... what with the boy and his tail, and the girl with her wings.
The children seemed to like Epithany, maybe it was the sing song voice she used at first, maybe her gentle nature, or maybe because the children were so sick of just their mother (though they loved her dearly) and the palace folk that they reveled in meeting new people.

Chrissy's hand gripped Kenta's waringly. His smile was reassuring, but she couldn't help but feel nervous. Especially when kenta mentioned Diety being some form of an Uncle. Chrissy had no family to speak of, but she head learnd that meeting family was a big deal in a relationship. Her cheeks warmed her frostbitten skin at the idea. Had Kenta meant for her to meet his family? Her eyes shot over to her boyfriend in a very worried glance though he was unable to see it because she tore her eyes away to look at Diety once he introduced himself. She swallowed a lump in her throat and nodded as Kenta introduced her to everyone as well. Taking another scan of the people, she noticed a male staring at her with a soft smile on his face. Blinking, Chrissy smiled awkwardly in a silent greeting. Well, at least Kenta's family seemed very understanding and sweet.
There was a faint mention of going inside, but the diclonius's reaction was a bit slower than the others. Kenta had already left to go inside and there were only a few who seemed comfortable in the biting cold. Christiania hadn't really noticed the chill since she had been having one of her natural emotional breakdowns on the way to Orion. She stood still as she pondered what would happen if she went in through those doors. Would she be bombarded with questions about how she and Kenta met? Would there be lots of hugging and reminiscing and such? She bit down on her lower lip shoving her hands farther into her jeans pockets. Chrissy almost had the sense to walk away and tell Kenta she had something to do she forgot about, but of course, she opted to do what everyone else was. Chrissy ungracefully made her way inside refusing to make eye contact with those who were still outside.
Gah.
The warmth hit her rather hard and it took her skin a few moments to realize that it no longer had to keep Christiania warm. Her shoulders rolled up in an attempt to relax her muscles. She was really nervous. "It's okay...j-just do it." A hand flew to her long light blue tresses as a habitual calming habit and made her way over to where Kenta was standing. There, Chrissy noticed a very beautiful, and familiar young lady. A small, shy smile found its way onto her face. "H-Hello, Jade-san," she whispered instantly grabbing hold of Kenta's arm as a defense mechanism rather than affection. Obviously very nervous, Chrissy can barely handle talking with a couple people let alone four or five. Her grip absently grew tighter on Kenta's arm as she stood silently uncertain of what to do exactly.

Despite having his arm grabbed rather frantically, Kenta simply smiled reassuringly at Chris as she took a hold of him. He'd have grabbed her back were he able to actually move his arm, but the smile would have to do. Chris was likely to be fine just as long as he stayed close.
"You know Ba chan already?" he asked, wondering if his mind were so muddled that he forgot such a thing or if they had met before he arrived. Keeping everything in order was proving to be a lot more difficult for him than he thought since he was used to them all knowing each other anyway in some capacity or other anyway. As far as he knew, most anyone important to him knew each other by now, but he couldn't be sure since he wasn't always watching them interact. It would have been nice to know if Chris knew Miss Pith as well, but she had gone to speak with Merena, and he couldn't think of a reason to follow her and abandon his aunt.
Which reminded him.
"Ba..." he paused mid thought. Maybe it was best not to ask. Anyone unable to feel the mounting tension would have to have been numb to pretty much every sensation man could experience. He remembered being told that there was a time when Orion seemed to draw in its patrons as though on its own whenever something big happened. Otherwise it just remained isolated and near-abandoned. He wasn't sure that he was presently in that time, but if so, perhaps it would be best not to bring it up in any way. Besides, Chris was jittery enough and he was trying to calm her down, not rile her up.
"Deity gave off an awkward sort of feeling when I told Chris he was my uncle. I was wondering if maybe we could all have dinner together some time. He seems to have a lot on his mind right now, but I think I should at least clear things up on my end. Besides, I wanted Chris to get to know you."
He paused, not realizing what he said until a moment too late. Catching himself, he clarified immediately.
"Well she already knows you, but maybe she can get to know you better?"

Smiling broadly at the children the mage looked up to their mother.
"You must be so proud, they are both as cute as buttons."
Truthfully Epithany never really understood that phrase, buttons weren't particularly very cute, but it seemed as good a phrase as any other.
"Well nice to meet you again Shaina, I remember when you both were still in your mommies tummy. Now look at the both of you. Your so big now!"
As the little boy climbed down and introduced himself she laughed lightly. Mussing the little boys hair she remarked on his little tail and the dainty wings of his sister.
"Well my name is Epithany, but you can call me Auntie Pith. Your mommy and I are old friends."
Looking back to their mother she continued to smile.
"Its great to see you again Merena. How many years has it been? The last time I saw you was around the same time Unks and I go married. If you recall you couldn't make the wedding, but Caine made and appearance."
Blinking steadily she tilted her head.
"How is he doing? The last I heard, he was working for Taliman's regime."
