Jade listened in silence to the exchange between Keno and Raion, though her eyes never left the limp form of Mani, held in the tiger's grasp. He was in one of the worst conditions she'd ever seen, for a boy still somehow alive. His eyes was destroyed, chunks of flesh were missing, blood still seeped from a wound in his side. Keno was no better currently, but he was the one still standing, holding Mani's life in his hands. In exchange for hers.
No matter how much of an a*****e Keno could be at times, how much of an inconsiderate p***k he was, there was still a part of him that cared about her. Deep down, Jade always knew this, but it was getting harder to believe as time wore on.
Right now though, her focus was on the bid for her life and Mani's life. How was it, inevitably, she'd end up being used against someone? Taliman, Caine, Angel, Raion; they had all taken her hostage to get to someone else. Why could she never help herself out of these situations? Why did someone always have to come to her rescue...? Damnit, why am I always so weak?! She cursed herself mentally. No matter how much she trained, it was never enough. She couldn't run away either; she'd already tried that.
Slowly, the pressure on her neck was released and the girl was finally able to get a full breath again, though it still only came as shallow gasps. Raion stepped back away from her, and Jade's eyes finally shifted away from the bloody boy to her former captor behind her. She waited, in case of an attempt to recapture her. But none came. As soon as Raion ordered her to go, Jade was gone.
She tried to scramble to her feet in a rush, but her body was still stiff from it's lack of oxygen for a while. Jade made it about five feet to Raions right before tripping and falling down into the mix of snow and dirt. Quickly rising again, despite her body's protests and aching, she hurried to get away from the scene, the cold Canadian air burning her lungs.
((Tama......I was just about done! Had it all worked out with your post too. xP))

::Finally the fight was over, but at a dire cost for the child. He had been maimed a good deal by Keno, who quite clearly held no remorse for his opponent. Some could argue that - for a warrior - that was a healthy mindset to keep. Showing emotion or signs of compassion led to weakness, which led to failure. It was this philosphy that Deity for one disagreed with, but that was a thought-induced stupor for another time.
His bare soles crunched into the dirt-peppered snow again as he leapt from his new perch, landing carefully a few yards away from the group. He was positioned around the halfway point between Keno - holding the kid hostage - and the woman - holding Jade hostage - while far enough away to get a view of either of them without a need to turn his head too much. It was now a waiting game. Would these people keep their word and let Jade go? Deity's unmasked red eyes shifted regularly back and forth from the face of his beloved to the anxious expression of her captor.
Things were tense, but soon enough Jade was released. The Orinian took a step toward her, but it was then that he saw; she was awake. There was no smile, but he let go a huge sigh of relief upon seeing her out of harms way. One might call it a little early by saying so, but Keno's deathgrip on the boy helped ensure that no further harm would come to the Saiya-jin. Deity's mind was swept back to the conversation he was having earlier with her. They were discussing his mortality; how did he intend to survive his battle with Taliman and - were he to lose - how did Jade intend to survive it? After she left, he spoke privately with Father; it was another matter altogether that somehow managed to link itself to his current predicament with his brother.
Considering the topic of discussion between Deity and his father, the fact that Jade was immediately thrown into danger was morbidly ironic, and only gave said conversation greater, deeper meaning. He couldn't live without her; he knew that now. Something had to be done.
Oh, crap. Deity was silently pointing out to himself that he somehow managed to get lost in his thoughts anyway. He shook his head - Jade was on her feet now, so he took the initiative and quickly stepped in to grab her before she tripped over herself again. Being knocked out the way she had been could be rather taxing on the body - it was better if she didn't strain herself too much. Deity was to her left when his arms reached around her chest and shoulders, a comfortably secure embrace keeping her from falling and reminding her that she was safe again.
The tall boy - now with the others behind him - leaned down and hooked his left arm under Jade's knees before standing back up with her in his arms. Afterward he was quick to step away from the goings on behind him, throwing a passive glance over his left shoulder to make sure one of those villains did not for some reason come back after them. Upon reaching a tree nearby, Deity turned about-face and lowered himself to one knee; his change in posture didn't compromise the embrace Jade was currently cradled in, which was neither too loose or too tight. He did, after all, have a pretty thorough understanding of her range of comfortability.
After only a brief pause, the quiet boy tilted his head to his left as he looked down at Jade to his right. The sincere tone in his voice matched his face as he finally spoke to inquire on her well being.::
Are you hurt at all, Love...?

"It's done KenoTao. Now let Mani go!"
He didn't move still, lost in thought, feeling relief, frustration, rage, pain, disappointment, resolve, and any number of other things. He wasn't listening to Raion, who looked at him as though completely horrified. Was she tricked? Keno had planned this all along hadn't he? He didn't really intend to let Mani go. He just wanted to make sure that girl was out of harm's way before he killed...she couldn't finish the thought.
"KenoTao?"
He couldn't hear her. He had zoned out the moment Deity had reunited with Jade, as the moment of truth came. The moment he was waiting for; when he would kill Mani. It didn't quite go that way though, and now he was stuck at a crossroads. He no longer had the power to act in a rage of passion, so he had to calculate. Dammit! It was so much easier five seconds ago.
"KenoTao," she growled warningly, still not moving, arms still up, and him still not listening. Why should he let this boy live when they were just gonna hunt him down again? It made perfect sense to reduce their numbers; just one less person to be keep one eye open for. Were it the other way around, they wouldn't hesitate for a second. Not one damn second! They wouldn't and he knew they wouldn't. So why was he still holding this brat's head in his hand?
After all of this work, after putting everything just so in order to get exactly what he wanted, why wouldn't he take it? What sort of message was he sending to them if he just let them go after threatening Jade? That it was okay? That if they do it again they can toy with him however they please? No! They had to learn! Mani had to die! If not, they might go after Jade again because they know they could. So long as they have her, they can make him do whatever they want. An example had to be made!
"KENOTAO!" What?! he thought angrily, before he realized that she had apparently been screaming at him for a while, a look of complete panic on her face, her chest heaving and her entire body tense. What was her problem? He tried to scan her eyes, but they weren't saying anything to him. They weren't even fixed on him. They were fixed on Mani.
And that's when Keno remembered something completely irritating and unfortunate.
Jagan was like an older brother to Mani. Naturally, Mani would be like a younger brother to Raion. Similar to the way Jade was a younger sister to him. Blood only mattered as much as pricks wanted it to. It didn't bind anyone to anyone else. Instead...
Dammit.
It was exactly what he would have done if Jade were in Mani's shoes. Anything. Anything to get her back, to see her safe and back in good health. Kill a man...done. Ten...no problem. A hundred...is that all? Himself...definitely. He hadn't asked Raion to give up her own life. It wasn't important enough to him. She hadn't asked him to give up his. It wasn't important enough to her. Jade and Mani; one for the other. Even if he was lying, it was more than fair.
Except he hadn't forced Mani to fight for his life. Mani did it by choice, albeit foolishly. Luke would have killed him. Raion could have killed him. Mani was a boy. He only understood death as a sort of game. Not once during the entire fight did he think to fight to stay alive. That's why he was dying. He deserved it and more. They all did!
"Please!" Please? He stared at her a long time as she sank to her knees, eyes back on him, tear filled and pleading. Would he go so far...for Jade's sake? It wasn't even a real question. He'd have gone so far for Thorn if it meant it would bring her back...it wouldn't, but he would have.
Thorn. Killed in cold blood for his sake. The only living relative he had growing up. The one person who loved him more than anyone else. The one person whose absence still haunted him day after day after day.
Mercy. s**t.
He moved, and her heart froze. He kept the boy in front of him, but he walked, right for her, his eyes still glowing, his arm still ready to fire at a moment's notice. The boy just let himself be carried, his body limp and his left eye unable and unwilling to move. He couldn't really hear or see anything at this point, he was so ready for death.
But he didn't die.
"Take him."
She did immediately, hugging the boy as firmly as she dared, actually crying. Crying! Right there in front of KenoTao. He could have killed them both right then and there before they even recognized he was still a threat. Instead, he turned and walked away. He was disgusted with himself. He would have been no matter what he did.
"Freeze!" Whose voice was that? It didn't stop Keno, or even slow him down, but it shouted again, so he turned to see a man in green camo, holding a gun pointed right at him. Keno glared at Raion, before he turned back around and continued on his way. She looked at him with a surreal feeling of gratitude and did not realize what was happening in time to say anything to stop the soldier, but she didn't have to. The shot was fired, but Keno was gone, the bullet passing right through him as he went.
The soldier cursed as more men came out of the woods, their guns slung around their shoulders; non hostile. He turned his attention to Raion and Mani.
"Report."
"Side and neck wounds. Possible internal damage. Right eye irreparable. Mouth and jaw...destroyed." She shuddered. "Possible head trauma.
"Sir." Luke chirped in, a question on his lips.
"Things have changed. Return to the lab."
"Sir."

{{I sorry UJade I figured you wanted to get your own stuff in so I figured to delete it so you had a fresh tablet to work with. XD My bad I will just work with what keno and you all have posted.
Kenotao-I am kinded of interesting in getting involved with these characters, if my post is too out of line let me know and Ill fix it.}}
“And so the north wind calms and the field will dry with blood…as it is told…”
Samayou watched with his arms folded as Jade scrambled away, Deity soon by her side helping her up. His mind flashing back to a small image, the image of a strong and independent Russian woman with a heart of gold and a smile so sweet she looked as delicate as a glass rose. When his mind snapped back to realty he realized he was holding the picture in his pocket but did not take it out, instead he moved forward with a powerful presence.
It was the gunshot that rang out and that snapped him back to realty his eyes locking on a threat, one with a gun that had dared to fire at Kenotao. A bullet was by no means an effective way to stop the Tiger proven by the fact that Keno was gone before the bullet even touched him.
The man had said something about reporting in and then said he wanted them to return to base but it seemed that in all the hustle they forgot about the black Devil still standing near by…he would remind them.
His eyes glowed a tint of white as the energy around him sparked and from his finger tips an electrical current shot out and smashed into the ground. Dirt and snow spewing up like fire as the ground shook with a violent quake so much that even those still at Club Orion could feel a slight tremble. Trees shook and split and the earth up turned as the beast of the Abyss decided it was time to find out exactly why someone was hunting his friend. His display of power was to instill fear upon those around him as his aura pulsated with an immeasurable strength the cracking earth around him confirming that fact all too real. Even Deity would pick up on the spike and feel its intense heat, the rage of a Devil was not to be taken lightly…ever.
The response from the mortals and beings around him would dictate how the rest of this encounter would go but they would know by the end of this meeting that if they hunt Kenotao, they hunt Samayou as well.

Jade flinched slightly when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her, thinking for the briefest of moments that the other aggressor had come forth to capture her again. But when her green eyes locked with the exposed pale red ones of Deity, relief fell over her face, though there was still something behind her eyes. Was it fear, hurt, anger? It was hard to tell.
She let him hold and lift her up into his arms without any sort of struggle, leaning her head against his chest and breathing deeply his scent. Her commandeered shirt and pajama bottoms were soaked from snow. Her feet hurt from the cold, her neck from the bruises that would undoubtedly form in a little while. Her mind was taking so many twists and turns that she felt she was on a roller coaster.
And yet, when Deity asked if she were hurt at all, Jade just shook her head slowly, not moving it much at all. The reality of how lucky she was, yet again, and how scary Keno could be, how dangerous, was setting in. She was understandably, and to put it mildly, upset.
"I....I wanna go home...."
And to think, not too long ago, she'd been enjoying a nice breakfast with Keno and Ichi.

::The Tonepian watched as everything went down - he was sure Keno was going to kill the boy, but it never happened. Why, he couldn't be sure - the cluster of emotions flowing through and around the tiger was so confounding that it was hard to really pinpoint which one was driving him. His gaze toward the events was broken by Jade's voice. Deity nodded gently in response to her whispered request of him, his long blackened locks drooping a little more than usual due to some snow that had fallen and subsequently melted in his hair.
The man of black's outburst caught the boy's attention, but he did nothing much else in response. What was that going to accomplish? The display was more impressive than Deity imagined from the big guy, but generally speaking it was markedly unimpressive. If KenoTao himself - the subject of their hunt - could not ward them away with his strength, and if the terrifying power of the Orinian Emperor - through which one of their own had been cruelly murdered - was not enough stay their hostility, exactly what hope did the stranger have of scaring them away by simply firing an attack at the ground? It's a hopeless endeavor, Deity thought then to himself. They would not be swayed - one could either fight them alongside Keno, or ignore them. But they would come again.
He sighed gently then, having nothing more to do there. The only reason he appeared was to keep Jade safe, and now she was. Time to go home. Deity stood back up, careful to keep Jade steady as the soldiers in the distance prepared to move out. If they ever returned, his only hope was that Jade had learned from this experience and stayed away from KenoTao. Brother or not, he was as much a danger now as the people hunting him, as long as they were going to attack his loved ones as bait.
Without wasting anymore time, Deity closed his eyes and ducked his head. He focused for only a beat before he and his beloved vanished; it wasn't rapid movement, but rather his patented Shunkido technique. To the fastest eyes they were gone in an instant, likely back in the tower, so that Deity could tend to Jade's injuries. It wouldn't hurt them to get a few things off their chest, either - it had been a rough morning.::

Passive indifference, confused hostility, and a panicked call to arms. Tama's display of power was met by all of these reactions as Unit 97 prepared to engage. Each of the armed soldiers did what they were trained to do and drew their guns, unaware of how ridiculous a notion that possibly was. Luke, though he had absolutely no interest in the tower of a man - he wasn't an assignment - lifted his head and turned to the new source of power. If the man was foolish enough to confront them, he would unfortunately be very sorry that he did.
Raion, stiff as she was, stood and glared at Tama, with an expression that dared him to cross the line. She was so desperate to keep Mani alive that she was beyond fear and held the countenance that every woman but very few men could master. Go away, her eyes told her. Leave us alone and you won't be hurt. But by all means, you can go right ahead and harass us and I will personally see to it that you die a quick but very painful death.
The men around her, the armed military unit, only bore expressions with the intent to kill. They could not communicate with their enemy through body language. The body was for killing and dying, save the mouth, which was for talking. To them, this was not a talking situation.
Before things could get carried away however, Tama would feel a firm grip on his right shoulder. Familiar though it was, his companion was not announcing his presence in support of another battle, but rather, advising him to let well enough alone. Keno's grip more or less said don't whereas his face said nothing more than I'm tired and frustrated. A nod of his weary head commanded Unit 97 to go if they knew what was best, and Raion and Luke took the hint.
Mani was placed on a stretcher and carried deeper into the woods, to the source of the chopping noise Keno had heard earlier. No one looked back, no one spoke, and no one brandished their power. The fight was over. Best to leave it that way.
Keno didn't speak to Tama, though his grip softened and his hand became a warming, grateful presence on his old friend's shoulder. Then he vanished same as before to let his mind haunt him the way it often did when he was alone. Part of him also wanted to go home, but he didn't really have one. So he just vanished. That way no one could bother him and he couldn't be a thorn in any more sides.

Their reactions where as expected, foolish humans ready to throw their lives into the fray with out a moments thought. Acting on instinct and training not on logic and even the one known as Luke bore the same expressions but it was not them Samayou took an interest in…it was Raion. Her expression was like that of a mother one so tender and soft but fierce with the intention to kill any who dare harm her young. She bore that expression like it was a painting deeply soaked into the fibers of her facial features. In part he demanded answers, in part he desired to rage.
The mortals would die in the blink of an eye before their fingers could pull on the triggers of their weapons, Luke would have eventually have fallen to the madness for his cybernetic parts would fail him but it was Raion who poised the challenge. Her noble intention to protect her child or Mani as he was called would be her greatest weapon and so the beast pondered this. Just as he was about to move forward, just as he was about to speak a soft hand touched his shoulder, guiding his intentions down a new road. It was best he do as Kenotao wished for now and at another time he would demonstrate his fury but as they started too depart Raion would receive a message no others would hear. A telepathic link connecting between her and the Black Devil as he watched them leave.
“You love him like a child…don’t you? You and I share much in common…Raion. I beg of you, stop hunting what you can not kill…for Mani’s sake…let the dead rest. You and I must speak further, when all is calm head North into the mountains...I will find you and maybe we both can find some answers with in each other.”
The telepathic line was cut as sharply as it had been produced and with out another word of display of rage the beastly black devil turned and walked bare foot into the winter cold. Heading north too his mountain encampment, a spike of energy beckoning Kenotao to meet him their for a discussion if he would be polite to oblige.

It was not long after the encounters that Samayou would walk along the edge of the lake. His feet touching frozen ground and feeling all the vibrations with in them from the pitter patter of tiny critters to the slap of snow falling to the earth from near by tree branches. He was like a druid one with nature and so it was by no surprise he lived out here. His encampment was nothing more then a fire pit and a tent positioned under a tree. A small clearing with bushses all around it to keep him isolated from view, unless you happen to stumble upon this small place you would never know it was there.
It was here while snacking on some morning berries that Sama waited for Keno.....
