((Note to all, this is a new RP, just to be clear.))
The elevator hummed softly to life in the early day hour, a time when it was normally quiet. Few came down, and those that did were normally heading out for the day, only to return in the night in the hopes of some life in the Club. Such was not the case this morning.
A rare visitor to the lower levels before the afternoon, the doors slid open to allow one of the central ladies of the establishment out. Jade stifled a yawn, looking rather unkempt. Her short, naturally spiky black hair was wild and untamed more than normal, without any semblance of having a brush touch it yet. Her green eyes were half open, tired and red rimmed from a long night of restlessness, worry, and likely a few tears. Her locket, remaining as it always had around her neck, was half hidden under a red button-down shirt obviously too large for her. Easy to guess it was one of Deity’s. The top two buttons were undone, giving a teasing glance to a chance look, without putting too much on display. The sleeves hung over her hands, the cuffs open and hiding the gold claddagh ring sitting on the middle finger of her right hand. The young woman also had on a pair of green pajama bottoms, loose but not baggy, so they were likely her own clothing, her tail hanging out over the top edge and swinging idly behind her. Her feet were bare, purple painted toenails peeking out from under the folds of fabric.
Normally Jade either slept in late, or she took a late breakfast up in her room with Deity. This morning, however, she had awoken to an empty bed. What little sleep she had gotten must have been deep, for usually she would wake when her love climbed out of bed. Most time she pretended to still be sleeping. It was no difficult task to locate him, however, as he was simply a floor below in close vicinity of his father. She walked down the stairs to the 19th floor, and could hear Deity and Sir Aaron in conversation inside. Their tones were laden with worry, making their topic seem dire. No doubt they were discussing how to keep Deity alive against his brother. But as she approached to knock, she clearly heard her name mentioned, making her pause. Curious, Jade leaned an ear closer, trying to catch why she was the topic of discussion. As she listened on, her face grew more distraught, until she finally pulled herself away from the door and slowly began her ascent back upstairs.
Her mind raced with what she heard, something that had never crossed her mind. It made perfect sense, but still it was nothing she had thought on before. And the possible resolutions, well those were even more worrisome. Try as she might, she was too awake to return to sleep, and a meager breakfast alone in the room would do nothing to ease her mind. So the girl had stepped into the elevator, musing as she watched the number 19 pass, that breakfast in the main room likely wouldn’t calm her thoughts either. Jade really had no idea how right she was.
The Saiya-jin rubbed a fist gently against her right eye, fitfully trying to get it to open more despite the sting it had. Her bare feet had carried her into the main room a few paces, and paused upon her half open green eyes spotting another figure. For once, the tiger had more on his torso than on his face. His head unusually exposed, Jade took notice that his usual attire had changed once again, leaning more towards the black that many seemed to favor for one reason or another. Either way, upon sighting him, the girl bristled a little, remembering how infuriating he had been in her head the previous night with little concern for how she had been feeling at the time.
“Good morning, Keno.” No suffix with his name, none of the cute pet name she usually reserved just for him. Respect, but so terse that it could be taken a number of ways. To put it simply, she was unhappy with his presence at the moment, and for once was thankful for her slight unawareness that gave sluggishness to her emotions. It gave her time to temper her rage and infuriation before it grew out of control, though it still smoldered beneath the surface, ready to burst into flame if fed fuel.

Rather than giving in to his frustrations - seriously, what was everyone's problem? - Keno continued doing what he was so good at lately and spoke his mind.
"Let's play a nice game called 'Grow the hell up.' You can start by sitting down and learning some damn manners. It's not my fault your boyfriend is a hypocrite." He said this knowing Jade would likely want to speak out against him, but he didn't give her the chance because, unlike her, he knew certain things.
"We can talk about it later." She might be terse, but he was still commanding and his voice didn't leave any room for an argument he didn't want to get into. The first round of his game was about to start though because no sooner than he finished speaking did someone come out of the kitchen.
It was a bit trying, but she hadn't seen Keno in so long. Performing in the domestic capacity was not something she thought she would grow accustomed to, but she found herself loving him so much that it just sort of happened. Cooking, cleaning, dressing up; it was something she actually wanted to do and he was always happy with whatever she did, no matter how well or poorly she did it.
For the time, she was struggling to balance one plate on her left arm while holding one more in each hand. At her feet, a pair of cats, one white and one black, with ribbons tied to their tails, blue and yellow respectively, were dancing gracefully about her feet, being sure not to trip her as they grazed by in her wake, purring softly.
Once more Ichi had died her hair, going back to her natural color, which brought out her gray eyes further emphasized by the square, black rimmed glasses she was wearing. True to her nature, her hair was up in a high ponytail, effectively helping her look younger than she was, and she already looked young enough, so that no one would guess that she was already twenty-seven. A red ribbon held her hair in place, right behind her large gray ears, and matched the baby tee she was wearing, which had a lightning bolt emblem on the chest that was currently covered up by the apron she had thrown on to keep her outfit clean and had since forgotten she was wearing. Otherwise she had on a plain pair of blue denim jeans and a thin pair of rainbow toe socks.
"Good morning Jade," she greeted with an air of dignified womanhood not often found in her voice. Keno had a peculiar effect on her mood clearly, but it was bittersweet because she knew he would leave again. When she approached the table, Keno rose from his seat as she placed the plate in her right hand in front of him. He smiled at her lovingly, with no trace of irritation to be found whatsoever. Ichi had a peculiar effect on his mood as well it seemed.
"Where's Kenta?" she asked, feeling a mysterious concern for the boy. Before she had gone into the kitchen he had dropped in and had promised to stay for breakfast. That's why she had made three plates, after all.
"He had to go," Keno lied, protecting her from the truth of the matter. "Something important that he forgot. He wanted me to apologize for him."
"Oh," Ichi declared, still worried about the boy. Why did it bother her that he might not eat breakfast? "Well I hope it was nothing too serious."
"I doubt it," Keno explained softly. "The boy isn't much of a troublemaker. Anyway, I thought it would be nice if Jade joined us instead. I don't get to spend much time with my favorite ladies these days, now do I?"
Ichi smiled pleasantly, clearly glad to have anyone as company, especially someone Keno considered family. Though they had never talked about it, she had always wanted to meet his mother, whom he had mentioned a few times in passing. It just seemed wrong that she should be so involved with a man when his family never really got to meet her. She wouldn't bother him about it, though.
Wheeling around him, Ichi took the plate balanced on her left arm and placed it in the spot to his right, clearly Jade's place of honor at the table. The plates were decorated with sticky rice lightly sweetened, hard-scrambled eggs, two biscuits for everyone - she only had one as she didn't eat as much - that had been spread with strawberry jam, and three strips of bacon - hers only had two.
"I sort of threw this together on the spot," she explained to Jade with a light blush. "I hope you like it."
Having that done, she made her way back to her seat, on Keno's left, where he was waiting patiently with her chair drawn. She set her plate and took her seat as he slid it beneath her and, to her surprise, planted an airbrush of a kiss on her cheek. It made her smile shine all the brighter and her eyes ignited with affection.
Keno took his seat with a renewed swagger and clapped both of his hands together as though to lead the women in grace, but all he said was, "Itadakimasu!"

Such a quick change from the way he acted the night before, when he had though everything funny when he wasn't even at the scene. Now he was being curt, and rather hypocritical himself considering Jade at least had had the good manners to greet him, despite her anger. Still, she sat down without another word to him in the chair he indicated, though her eyes were still smoldering.
They turned to surprise, however, when none other than Ichi emerged from the kitchen, laden with plates of food. How long had it been since she had seen the other girl? Forever it seemed, as their paths rarely crossed anymore.
"Good morning, Ichi." She smiled genuinely back at the other woman, taking clear notice of how both she and Keno acted so much differently in each others company. In fact, the level of comfort between the two of them almost made it difficult to be angry with her adopted brother, but the coals were still hot. She glanced to the doorway when Kenta was mentioned, trying to recall if she had seen his shadow leaving or not. Her eyes had been half shut, and she was half awake, so likely she missed it.
However, she doubted the boy had 'forgotten something important', as he father put it, and was fairly sure it had been the father who had caused the son to leave. If Kenta hadn't even said goodbye to his mother, then surely it had been something great, if not hushed for Ichi not to hear.
Jade kept these thoughts to herself, waiting in polite silence as Ichi placed down the food before each setting, her mouth watering a bit as the sweet smells drifted to her nose. How long had it been since she had an actual breakfast such as this? Normally her breakfast was really a lunch, or just something quick to grab. This was really a treat, and she told Ichi so.
"It looks delicious! I can't wait to dig in." Her stomach rumbled, clearly in agreement. One of the natural aspects of being a Saiya-jin she had never bothered to try and overcome. After all, eating yummy food was a passion as much as a necessity.
"Itadakimasu." She clapped her hands together, not quite as hard as Keno, and waited for he and Ichi to begin, since they were hosts and she were a guest, in a sense.
((Keno should learn to say what type of utensils there are, yes he should. ^ ^; ))

{{Not involving himself in that role-play. Need to RP some training just in case.}}
Samayou had spent most of the night by himself at the bar after the events and his acute sense told him to leave the CO for a little while. In the hours before Keno and Jade’s meeting he had spent it sleeping at his camp site that was a few miles north of CO on the other side of the lake. He was not currently at the tent and camp fire but instead he left behind the smoldering ash to head farther north towards the base of a hill. It was here that he secretly communed with the spirits from his Druidic nature, it was here he trained his rock hard body and here he remained silent like a ghosts as the tales and lives of Co unfolded.
He was currently wearing nothing but baggy black cotton pants and other then that…bare skin. Before him was a large boulder dented and pounded from his beating, not from today but from all the other times. Behind the boulder 20 feet was a thick tree that had dent after dent from the boulder and leading away from the tree base to the boulder was upturned earth. Samayou lowered his body and center of gravity as he prepared his hands to grasp the large boulder. Samayou was 6’4” tall, this boulder was easily twice his height and round. Breathing as steady as the north wind howling through the mountains, his feet tense as he prepared himself for the 10 feet charge before the impact.
……..*chirp*….chirp*…..*chirp*…..
His feet pushed off the dirt as he closed the gap in an instant, his hands clasping low on the boulder as his feet took a wider stance and he shoved with all his might. The boulder being forced backwards slowly and soon picking up speed. His legs pumping out strength like machines as he forced the larger object back with sheer strength and will, his anger spiking as he shoved harder. The boulder was digging into the dirt but against the anger of the beast it was futile as the tree shook violently. The wood splintering slightly as Sama stopped applying pressure, letting the needles fall over him as his reward.

"Good," Keno thought to himself as Jade behaved 'appropriately.' The greeting Keno counted as disrespectful, and were he in her shoes, he'd have simply said nothing at all, but he was sure she wouldn't see it that way. He wasn't going to bother explaining why he had that particular perspective. Either way, she was able to at least set her grudges aside while Ichi - who was beaming at Jade's compliment - was present, and that was all he asked. He could tolerate being criticized and hated later, but not at breakfast.
It appeared both women were waiting on him to begin. Jade was waiting on both of them, and Ichi was waiting on him, so he took the fork on his left and scooped a pile of rice onto it. Ichi was still waiting to see if he approved, and he very much did. Turning to her, he passed a glance of satisfaction at her and nodded approvingly and she lit up all over again. She really should have more confidence in her cooking he thought. Not once had she messed anything up. At least, not for him.
Content that he liked the food, Ichi also began with her rice, but unlike Keno, she liked to eat a bit of everything randomly instead of one at a time; he was displaying something of an OCD complex as he focused on the rice as though it were just the first obstacle of the meal. The goal was bacon, which would come last, after he dove into the eggs and hurdled the biscuits.
"How is Deity?" Ichi asked suddenly, unaware of the previous day's happenings. "I haven't seen him around much either. Or User now that I think about it. Did he go somewhere?" Naturally these questions were for Jade because Keno was always gone, so why would anyone think that he would know what had happened to the veteran male Saiya-jin? Keno hadn't thought she'd bring it up, nor had he thought it would be necessary to warn her on the side of caution. Not that it mattered though. Truth be told, he kind of wanted to know too, but didn't express much interest. He was much more worried about washing some of the sweetness of the rice down with a gulp of water before he moved on to the eggs. That was definitely priority number one.

((I wasn't sure if it was utensils, or chopsticks. xD But you're right.))
It was only for the sake of Ichi that Jade put aside her anger at Keno, not wanting to upset the other while she was so obviously in a happy mood. While Keno worked at his food with a strict order, and Ichi sampled a bit of each pile back and forth, Jade went at hers like...
Well, like a Saiya-jin. Just, a bit more under control.
She shoved forkfuls of rice and egg into her mouth, pausing here and there to take bites of the biscuits and bacon. The girl couldn't help it, it was her nature, though she did slow down quite a bit in order not to make a mess. Jade savored every delicious bite, though it might not look it.
She had just taken a sip of orange juice to wash some of it down when Ichi asked of Deity out of nowhere. Jade choked suddenly, a violent coughing fit overcoming her as she put down the glass, reaching for her napkin to cover her mouth. After a few moments, she recovered enough to speak again, though her eyes were slightly reddened.
"User....I haven't seen him in a while either. Last I heard, he got himself beaten up a good deal in a fight. He's probably off nursing his pride somewhere." She paused before she moved onto the other, reflecting on what she had overheard Deity and his father discussing about her just before she came downstairs.
"Deity is well, though he's gotten into another mess, as always. He....he and Taliman are going to fight...." Jade looked down into her food, taking much smaller bites of it now, the worry evident in her voice though she was trying to keep positive about it. As much as she didn't want to worry Ichi, she wasn't going to hide it either. She just left out the major details.

"I'll tell you more about it later," Keno said reassuringly to Ichi, and she nodded promptly before returning to her food, intentionally turning away from Jade in case she were feeling down. If Ichi noticed, the entire atmosphere would sink, and she didn't want that.
The couple shared a personal, but not so secret glance at each other. Of course Keno knew very well how Ichi felt about Tali. When they were friends, long before he even knew he liked her let alone loved her, he had watched her chase after the emperor with much more fervor than the average fangirl, and not once did Tali so much as entertain the thought of making anything more out of their...perhaps relationship wasn't the best word.
As it stood now, Ichi had forgotten all about Tali emotionally and was very worried about Deity's well-being, but it was obviously not something to talk about.
Keno was nearly finished with his eggs before he realized he shouldn't leave two near-strangers to try and think up a conversation all on their own. Only then did the consequences of his long absence bear anything he might consider a negative consequence. Nothing came to mind; not really. He sorted out every random bit of information he could recall, but none of it seemed all that interesting. For all the adventure the Orion had seen, it appeared that its residents still lived pretty boring lives. He finished his eggs in silence.
"Ne, Keno?" he looked up from his plate with half a biscuit in his mouth. She giggled in good humor, hiding the lower half of her mouth behind her right hand. Patiently, she let him swallow his food before she continued.
"I was thinking of going to America next month to visit a few beaches. Kenta came with me last time, remember?"
"Oh yeah," he said, recalling her story with a smirk on his face. "You beat the snot out of a couple of young...hussies." It seemed wrong to call a girl a whore, slut, or skank if he didn't know them or at least know what they loooked like. Nevertheless, their behavior did sound slutty and they went as far as to call Ichi old. Keno wasn't sure what their definition of old was since Ichi rarely looked beyond her early twenties, but the fact that she had actually beaten up anyone gave him a perverse sense of satisfaction.
"Yes, well," Ichi said, clearing her voice in a gesture that suggested they not focus on the negative, "I would really like it if you came with me this time. We don't get to spend a lot of time together outside of Orion..."
Keno almost looked bewildered at the thought, but didn't spend much time thinking about it.
"Of course. I would love to." His answer was far too genuine to be remotely insincere and he smiled with a look of anticipation. "It's not fair that you went last time without me; wearing a swimsuit while hanging out with another man." Clearly he was teasing, and something in his tone made Ichi's cheeks flush as she turned shy, but she was clearly not upset with him.
"Okay then. I'll let you know when I'm ready to go. Oh! and you should come too Jade!" Again, her attention was turned onto Keno's sister, and she wished she had more to say directly to the young woman of...how old was Jade? Ichi didn't know and Keno never told her. Was she older or younger than Ichi? Jade was taller and acted more mature, but most people were and did. It was irrelevant.
"You can invite Deity, and whoever else you want and we can all go together!"

Jade's attention was drawn up again at the mention of Ichi beating up some young...hussies? Curious, she looked back and forth between the two of them, hoping for more of the story, but alas, she only got a few tidbits.
She had never taken Ichigo for much of a fighter, but, then again, there was rarely a situation where the foxling had an even match. Still, Jade was rather impressed, and the smirk on her face showed it. Good for her!
The smile grew as Ichi invited her, and Deity as well, along for the trip. "I would love to join you, though getting Deity to come might be a bit harder. After all, there is a reason he built this place in the frozen north. But...." And she winked a bit, "I think the promise of a couple girls in bikinis might draw him out." She laughed a bit, thinking of how red the Tonepian's face would be, his pale frame hiding under the beach umbrella while she dove into the water.
In the back of her mind, Jade took notice of how easily Keno was to deal with when Ichi was around. Pleasant, lighthearted, funny. He used to be like this all the time, why wasn't he now?

"If that's all it takes to draw Deity out, he doesn't stand a chance. Especially if we get the mage to come too. Married or not, she's got a body on her." A swift kick to the shin made his left leg jump up and he banged his knee on the table. He didn't even bother hiding the fact as his face twisted in sharp pain before calming into nervous humor, which made Ichi glare at him playfully as she nibbled on a piece of bacon.
"What?" he asked feigning ignorance and she pretended to wash her hands of him altogether with a sip of orange juice.
Finishing his plate with a cheery air about him, he took to draining his entire cup of orange juice at once - apparently it was the orange juice all along that he was looking forward to - and finished the rest of his water immediately after.
"Gochisousama deshita! That was really good, Koi. Thank you for the breakfast." Ichi answered with a smile and cast an expectant glance on Keno from the corner of her eye. This was the part where he left. She prepared for it stoically.
"I think Jade and I should go for a walk. We have a few things to discuss." He didn't say anything more than that, and Ichi accepted it without a fuss, finishing off her own glass of water before pushing her empty plate aside.
"Come on," he said invitingly to Jade, though he cast her a glance that asked a bit more sincerely and demanded a bit more forcefully. No hostility, but not something to be confused about. They were going for a walk.
He made his own way to the door, but he didn't even make it half-way there before the sound of his name stopped him in his tracks.
"Keno." Ichi rose from her seat and made her way quickly across the empty hall toward him, absentmindedly tossing her apron off before she threw herself into his arms. Of course he caught her; her arms around his neck and his around her waist. The perfume of her skin began making him drowsy in a euphoric way and the feel of her head against his chest brought him a sense of peace similar to what his heartbeat must have done for her.
They released each other reluctantly, but she was looking into his eyes with determination.
"You promised," was all she said and though half of her refused to get its hopes up, the other half already had.
"I know," he said, softly as he cupped her cheek. She closed her eyes at the touch and he kissed her between the eyes. "I will."
That was all he said. That was all she needed him to say. Her tail came to life for the first time that morning, which set Edward and Alphonse into a frenzy trying to claw at it. Jade understood, and Deity too. Unks and the mage probably knew how it felt, and the knight probably had fond memories of it. That smile of hers was the best parting gift she could have given him.
"Shall we?" he asked Jade politely, all sarcasm gone as he twisted one of the doorknobs to push it open. Ichi placed her apron back on, covering up her yellow lightning bolt, and began collecting the dirty dishes, which were much easier to carry now that they were empty. She did so happily, though Jade probably also knew the signs of a bittersweet farewell.
Keno knew them too.

Jade had to stiffle a bit of a giggle behind one hand as Ichi reprimanded Keno for his comment, though it was obvious that it was all meant in overall good fun. It took but a few more moments to finish her food, having had eaten most of it already, and to drain both glasses of their liquids.
"Yes, thank you very much for the excellent breakfast. Best I've had in quite a while." She was completely sincere, since she wasn't an overall good cook, and getting Deity to wake up before the afternoon was no easy task. Jade stood, and started to lift her plate, to help Ichi with the dishes, when Keno mentioned they were going to take a walk. His second glance confirmed he wasn't going to take no for an answer, and reluctantly, Jade placed her dish back down.
Maybe it was the fact that she had gotten to see a bit of the old, kinda carefree Keno for a while, or perhaps it was the unspoken goodbye between he and Ichi, but the embers that had been smoldering inside her had all but died. After all, who wouldn't sober up at the sight? One never knew when the other would be back, if at all. Jade herself had gone through it once before. It hurt.
"Coming." She spoke softly as she headed to where Keno was, turning to Ichi as she walked. "See you later!" She smiled cheerfully, waving a little as she caught up to the tiger, her bare feet dreading the walk a bit, but willing to endure it.
There was much to discuss, and hopefully both would be able to keep a level head.

Changes in character usually arrive unexpectedly with little to no provocation, and Keno's was no different. Throughout the entire morning, he had hidden as many uncomfortable thoughts and experiences away as he could save for the brief period that Ichi was in the kitchen and he had a row with Kenta. It didn't bother him that so many people were irritated, but then again it did. What they thought of him wasn't important, but why they thought it, perhaps, was getting under his skin. Add that to his unspoken concerns and well...
Jade walked out of the door with a still cheerful Keno having enjoyed a very good dinner cooked by his beloved girlfriend. As he walked through the threshold, as the door swung to a close, his face underwent a speedy transformation as his smile faded, his eyes hardened, and that wild glow in his eyes brightened with mischief, deceit, worry, secrets, and daring. The mask was over his face almost of its own accord, as though some sort of glitch fixed the anomaly of his visible face when no one was looking, leaving just his eyes and his spiky hair.
He hadn't looked it sitting down, but Keno had put on about ten more pounds of muscle and looked just a touch thicker; enough at least not to look so lanky, which was pretty impressive considering his height. It wasn't his fashion to show off, but the serious, colder Keno sort of demanded one take into account the more dangerous elements of his physique.
"So..." he said from behind the mask, his breath forming steam in front of him as he began the descent down the stairs, "six more days, huh?" He spoke indifferently, and he wasn't making a motion to lead or follow; he was just walking. If Jade looked at him, he wouldn't necessarily look back, and whatever he felt wouldn't necessarily translate in his face or his voice. Being an a** came natural to him, but he wanted, for a brief moment at least to let her know he was partially concerned with the outcome of the Wesley duel.
For all he cared, Deity was in the wrong this time and if he died, Keno wouldn't mourn the loss. On the contrary, he'd be pissed to high heaven. The worst part, though, was that if Deity managed to win, and Tali died, Keno would still end up just as pissed. Whatever was between the Wesleys used to be somewhat honorable at first; both brothers simply held to their own convictions and just so happened to end up squaring off from time to time. This time however - the one time that it seemed to matter - this time was total bullshit.
He noticed his tendency to think and speak obscenities increase lately.
"What will you do when Deity dies?" When. Not 'if.' Was he predicting the outcome, accepting the inevitable, or was it merely a slip of the tongue? Most anyone would have said 'when' if they knew the two brothers, but Keno rarely thought himself stronger or weaker than anyone just because of strength alone. He didn't know Deity very well combat wise, nor did he know Tali any better. They were older, stronger, faster, had more experience, and yet he was relatively sure that if he could not kill them, neither of them could kill him either. Generally he applied the same logic to a lot of his companions, so 'when' could hold a lot of weight. Or it could not.
Regardless, he saw no reason to be overly optimistic about this. What was the point. Jade already knew what she would do if Deity survived, no matter how maimed he was, but did she know what she would do if he died?

Jade followed side-by-side with Keno, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her pajama pants as the crisp morning air of Canada wrapped around her. She wasn't anywhere near dressed for a walk outside, but she would deal with the repercussions later, especially with the scolding Deity'd give her.
Six days. Already it was becoming a countdown to Deity's assumed demise. That didn't do much for moral or one's spirit on the matter. The girls eyes remained down, watching the snow where she stepped, the bottoms of her pants already becoming wet and chilled, her bare feet cold and numb. But she ignored it.
"You know," She began, not really answering his question. "Not that long ago, I thought he had died. After all, when someone loses their head, they normally don't live. His body just lying there, blood everywhere, bits of his skull clinging to the wall." Jade shuddered a bit at the memory, recalling that she had been the bait.
"Whatever Kaen saw, whatever Kenta was told growing up, something can still happen that will change everything. The only thing you can be certain about with death, is that it'll claim you when your body is worn out, when it's lived it's years and is spent." There was a pause, and she stopped, her feet and lower legs buried in the snow. One could guess where her thoughts trailed at this last statement, but she didn't say them out loud.
"Needless to say, should Deity be killed, should he die before me, I will cross that bridge when it comes."
"After all, it does no good to dwell on what might be."
She looked out to the woods before them, clouds of steam rising from her lips and nostrils. The girl had a mixture of emotions running through her. Fear, hope, realism, optimism. It was too soon for her to have sorted her emotions yet, the argument had only been the night before.

"You don't have to dwell on something to prepare on it," he said indifferently. Unlike her, he didn't stop walking, because if he did, they'd probably not get anywhere. There wasn't really anywhere to go, but he knew it wasn't where they were wherever it was.
A coolness crept over his feet as the snow melted and seeped through the sturdy fabric of his shoes. He didn't flinch at it, but he made a mental note: boots would be better.
"It's interesting that he survived a completely shattered skull, but you know Tali isn't going to settle for an interesting survival. Taliman or...Tybron Wesley will die, unless you think you can rewrite Kenta's past." Keno mentioned this knowing that Kenta hadn't told anyone what was going to happen. His concern seemed to be for the outcome of the fight, but he never said who won, who lost, or who died. Awkward as the pup was, he kept it all a secret, which would make it that much harder to undo what was done before he was born. Kaen's dreams and drawings were the only lead they had. The boy was at least good for something.
"You and I aren't nearly so blessed as to be able to recover from snapped necks, popped off heads, severed spines, or what have you. We have to be a lot more careful because if we get reckless, there is no miracle blood to compensate for our folly...
"Are you afraid of death?"

She kept walking after only a few moments paused in reflection, leaving a trail of perfectly shaped footprints in her wake as she continued only a few paced behind Keno. Jade didn't even feel the cold anymore, and knew she'd need a good, hot bath to thaw her feet out afterwards.
The girl held her tongue, holding back the question of if Kenta had *actually* said that either Taliman or Deity would die. Yes, Deity, not Tybron. In a sense, Tybron was already dead. They were two separate people, but yet one. Confusing to some, but Jade understood a bit. After all, she had Kirra.
Jade didn't mention that when Deity had his head blown off, was also when he was in his Controlled Devil form, and being hunted by Angel. Likely now, since he had been returned to his Mystic Human form, he wouldn't be having his head regenerate.
She was silent for a moment in regards to Keno's question, only the soft crunch of snow beneath her bare feet and his shoes breaking the silence. "I do a little." she finally said softly. "I've seen a lot of it, both the violent and the gentle, the quick and the slow. I've been threatened by it countless times. Even now, if Deity were to try and back out of this fight, my life would no doubt be at risk."
"I don't really fear death itself, as much as the act of it, and when it might happen." Jade smiled a touch. "After all, there's much I still want to do in my life."

"Well then, maybe you should get out of that tower more often and start doing it...whatever it is." He paused and cast a glance behind him, to make sure she was listening. Again there was nothing insincere about his expression nor was there anything juvenile about it. He truly thought that most of the people who lived in or visited the Orion spent far too much time trying not to die than living or put far too much effort into working than having fun. Perhaps he was one of them, but all-in-all there wasn't much he wanted from the world anyway. A few corpses every once in a while to pay for the only one that mattered and he was good to go. Honorable? Not likely, but it was what he wanted. What did any of them want?
"Do you think he would say he lived a good life, or that he lived the best life he could?" A flicker of curiosity, a shrug, and about face, and he continued into the woods. It grew thicker not too far in, but even so it was only the crunch of snow that broke the silence aside from their own voices. He stopped again and waited for her to catch up to him before continuing with both their aimless journey and his monologue.
"She told me that even though she was only sixteen, the only regret she had about dying was being unable to spend any more time with me. Other than that, she felt she lived a good life and didn't fear death even for a moment. Maybe she wasn't ready to die, but she lived honestly and did what made her happy, so she wasn't not ready either. That's what I think she was trying to say anyway. Who knows?"
