Staring incredulously at the green haired woman, the old fox slumped atop one of the many arena seats watching the sparring match.

"You'll know soon enough...he excels in being able to observe without being seen or felt. He has earned his Blackheart status not through magical skill alone but, by sheer ingenuity in all he does. That in itself exemplifies our order."

Returning his attention to the match he watched in silence.

"You can't be," Wesley said. He was fed up with the kid ludicrous fibbing.

"Your mother wasn't even alive much longer after she spawned you."

He scoffed, a derisive glare focused on Tybron's gullible face. As little as the Orinian lord respected his father, he held Tybron's mother with even less regard. Aaron had tainted his noble blood with that of a human. A creature too weak to survive longer than two centuries. On this planet their expectancy was even more pathetic. Why someone would breed with such an inferior race was beyond the Emperor's thinking. That inferiority was only a fraction of what fueled his loathing for Tybron.

"I've had it with this brat."

Not planning to stay and watch the delusions unfold any further, Taliman turned and jerked the knob of the nearer door, thrusting it open to leave the club. If he had known this visit would be the one to hound him beyond his limits he would've stayed in the office and helped Glory complete her paperwork. At this point sitting at his desk seemed more than a joy.

Her attempt at a bit of humor fell horribly flat on it's face, and left behind only the heavy awkwardness of not really being part of the conversation. The girl felt very out of place, and almost regretted joining the group. Taliman and she only got along rarely, Kaen had been getting frustrated with her, and Deity seemed to be in a bit of a mood of his own. Considering this whole matter was a family thing to sort out, she felt a bit like a broken wheel.

Kaen was in tears, Deity's memory had failed him again at a worst possible time, and Taliman was infuriated by Kaen's presence. All Jade could do was stand slightly behind her while Deity tried to find out just what was going on. Of course, Taliman had to spit out an insult to the both of them. The one about Deity's mother really struck a chord with the Saiya-jin woman. Having the parental issues in her past like she did, Jade was not very happy to say the least.

Still, she bit her tongue, holding back a nasty retort to the Emperor. He was heading for the door. It'd be better at this point if he left, in her opinion. It would make things easier for Deity and Kaen both.

A clank of metal on the ground. Kenta hadn't seen what had happened, but he saw the peculiar flash of what he presumed was red steel as the noise of the clatter rang in his large, vulpine ears. He entered the arena, with little attention actually on the fight. After Chris had fallen asleep in his arm, he slid from the hammock gracefully and slipped away so as to seek out -

"Miss Pith," he uttered cautiously as he approached the mage, bowing slightly as was his subconscious impulse to superiors he didn't recognize as family; this one directed toward the snow fox. "I wanted to talk to you about something..." he trailed off as though he were actually speaking Japanese, not wanting to sound too forward or direct with her. For a moment his gaze diverted to the bout, but he quickly returned his attention toward his...well he didn't know what he considered Miss Pith in his odd assimilation of a family, but she was family.

"It's about forging a weapon. I think I would like to make one but I have no idea how. Maybe you can help me?"

Raising her eyebrow at the boy's line, she turned to face him.

"Hmmm? Sure...Go ahead.

Settling down atop one of the arena seats she faced the kitsune kit listening to his wary line of questioning. It always bothered her that she might be perceived as difficult to approach by others.

Adjusting her glasses she nodded at what he presented.

"Do you have any weapon types in mind?"

Glancing toward the stoic elder Kitsune. He was likely the better choice for this line of questioning. But she was wary of asking him anything at the moment.

"That's just the thing," the young man said with a nervous laugh that mocked his own idea. "It's not exactly a conventional sort of thing that I have in mind."

His tail rose behind him in a arc, a sign of caution and heightened self awareness. If for some ungodly reason one of the swordsmen were disarmed again, and if the blade happened to be coming in his direction, he surely would have responded to it instantly. However, the danger he was preparing for was that of disappointment, and possibly even scorn, though it wasn't much in Miss Pith to turn down an idea no matter how absurd it sounded right away.

His grey eyes dimmed as his expression turned solemn and he took a deep breath before grabbing himself by the proverbial...well you know.

"Do you know if anyone has ever successfully fused a gun and a sword together?"

She knew admittedly very little about foreign cultures. In fact, she doubted she knew nearly enough about anything at all. However, she was not a stranger to combat. An entire enterprise dedicated to the art of it was under her control, and though it was targeted for novices in the art, it held a lot of potential. Much more than she thought possible until recently.

Combat was as much about philosophy as it was about discipline and training. How one behaved could speak volumes of a man's character both in offense and defense. The tactical fighter and the brawler held themselves differently, the passive and the aggressive, the calm and the excited, the wise and the ignorant. Warriors could win competitions without ever striking a single blow, and others could dominate with one perfectly executed combination that looked more like choreography than warfare.

In combat, one's worth could be measured with the first move, but there was no way Red could comprehend a swordsman opening a match by disarming himself. Being the opening move, she could only confidently label it unorthodox, but she was relatively sure it was complete folly on the part of Epithany's husband not only to throw his blade in a vain attempt to accomplish...

He threw not only one of his swords, but his most familiar one. Red remembered or felt or perhaps stole some glimpse of the identity of the Beastman's Fang and knew it was newer to Unks than his unnamed red blade, and yet he seemed to favor the lack of total harmony he had with it. He had more pride in something he knew less about, something he hadn't even mastered. Something that, were this a matter of life and death, would be a wild card in every sense of the word. How anyone could be so clumsy, even in times of peace, eluded her.

Looking away from the match an expression of the utmost amusement had crossed the snow fox's lips. Turning toward the younger kitsune he smirked.

"I'm must say young one...your timing is considerably off. My colleague who was just here is a manufacturer of gunblades."

Clasping his hands behind his back his tail swept the ground with a mirth that he had not shone since before Epithany's revelation upstairs.

"I could contact him, so that one could be commission for you. Their a few who can manufacture instruments at the skill Cyprus can."

Turning toward Epithany, his expression darkened. Epithany can be your contact as it appears they will working together in the near future.

Upon having her conversation hijacked by her mentor the mage grew silent feeling a bit hurt by the harsh expression he was giving her.

"Sasha it was my choice. Something had to happen. So lets leave it at that. Its not like you have to cut me out of your life. Just because I don't follow a predetermined path doesn't make it a bad choice."

Realizing Kenta was hearing all this her eye widened.

"Sorry about all this Kenta...we are acting like children aren't we?"

Scrunching her nose she sighed.

"Truthfully Kendo's suggestion is probably the direction you'll want to go in. Though I wouldn't think you to be firearm user. What brought about that idea. To my knowledge aren't you capable of wielding Ki like your father?"

Although he decided not to remark on the behavior of his elders, Kenta was hopeful at the news that a concept he had first heard about from a video game had already been implemented and applied to real life. It would make things a lot easier than trial and error along the way. He nodded to the sagacious kitsune elder appreciatively for the news, accepting the news and name of Cyprus as though he saw nothing wrong with the man's existence.

It was all part of the story.

Smiling to Miss Pith he answered her as truthfully as he could considering the situation. His expression grew a shade or two darker, but it lacked any sort of hostility or grudge as he spoke.

"My father trained me to be a ki fighter, so I know the basics, but I've never really had to fight anyone." From the sound of things, Kenta was particularly upset about this turn of events. "Not anyone worth using ki on anyway," he corrected himself as he started up again. "Since he wasn't always around, it was up to me to protect my mother, but in general no one I would consider a threat ever came around.

"He and I fought all the time. Sometimes for training. Sometimes because...mm." He fell silent thinking about it, trouble brewing behind his eyes mixed with frustration and a rising anger. "Even his past self is better than me. Doing things his way just doesn't work, so I thought I'd try something else..."

Gritting his teeth in a grimace, the boy seemed to give off an unseen tension with the mention of his father. Gazing toward the ceiling, he proceeded to clear his throat the hairs on the back of his neck and tail standing up on end.

"Well I believe this would be a good place to take my leave. I would believe setting up a meeting in the Soul Fountain would be a good place to meet Cyprus. It would likely serve you well."

Bowing to the kit and the quantum mage he proceeded to immediately be engulfed by his shadow. In the next moment his form shattered into a fine black dust that wafted into nothingness.

Rolling her eyes at Sasha's gaudy departure she smiled wearily back in Kenta's direction.

"Sorry I seem to forget my tact at times..."

Sucking on her tongue for a brief moment she returned to the subject at hand.

"Well striving out on one's own is something we all have to do at some point. That's fairly admirable for someone at your age. Most teenagers are busy trying to avoid focusing on things. I surmise the circumstances with your mother forced you to veer from the worn path."

Losing herself in the memories of her own teenage years, she distinctly remembered shirking her studies on occasion to hangout amongst non magic users. Raising her gaze back to the boy's silver eyes her expression softened.

"Are you sure focusing on weaponry is the path you wish to take? As you said there was no one of consequence for you to fight. What need is there for weapons?"

Realizing she was meddling she scrunched her nose.

"I understand if your mind is already fully made up. Its not my place to hold you back."

With little notice she readily began searing a runar sentence into the atmosphere between them. The heavy hiss and crackle of gathered energies soon followed as mana began to flow between her hands. Clasping them tightly she splayed her palms revealing a small translucent blue crystal about the size of an chicken egg.

"Go ahead. Take it. This is a spell egg containing the runes required for a wormhole portal. When you feed it energy its default destination will be a portal to the Soul Fountain. After that you will have to visualize the destination with your minds eye. Feel free to use it anytime you wish."

Studying the boys face she sighed.

"Remember. Have a reason beyond what you feel is expected of you. "

Kenta cast a quizzical glance upon the elder fox right before he was consumed by darkness and vanished. Not feeling as though it would be rude, he decided to occupy the now vacant seat, as it felt odd to him to be standing while a sword fight was being held below. He silently forgave Miss Pith's lack of tact, for he did not find offense with her in the first place. It would be no secret to him growing up that his relationship with his father would be described as awkward at best, even considering the stage of life he was in; somewhere between boy and man, but too different from both to be fully recognized as either.

"Honestly," he confessed, "I'm not too sure that weaponry is the best path for me. All I know is that it's different. Few of us here actually need them I suppose, fewer use them, and fewer still could be considered any level of professional. And yet, somehow, everyone manages to specialize in what they do in...unique ways." His distraction seemed to have something to do with his eyes being occupied on the ring, but he didn't say anything directly about the match.

"I've considered other avenues, but this one - this weapon I mean - offers the most freedom and room for growth. Honestly, I didn't think anyone had ever made gunblade before. Not that I'm disappointed or anything."

He paused long enough to accept the spell egg given to him and bowed his head as he could no longer bend at the waist.

"Thank you." He looked at it for a moment noticing how the light seemed to pass into it, but not quite through it. It was nice, very unique, and a gift on top of it all. He smiled as he placed his right arm into his lap.

"Would you believe that I don't know if there are any expectations of me? The fact that I've yet to be born aside, I don't know if my fighting is really something anyone but myself considers necessary."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:30 pm

Smirking she once more returned her attention to the fight.

"That is reason in itself. If you find it necessary then what else is there to think about. If you wish to fight than so be it."

Crossing her arms over her she glanced side long at the boy.

"I'm sure irregardless, you'll find your place. Be it here or back where you came from."

Looking at the spell egg she had given him she smiled.

"I could perhaps place another spell in the egg. Mana constructs can simulate different objects. I could try to form a gunblade for you to try out until you get in contact with Cyprus."

The young man smiled at Miss Pith's offer, taking another look at the egg, but not long enough to actually consider the offer.

"No thank you," he said kindly. "I don't want to use one until I've made my own, though I can't say why. The practice would be nice, but I guess I'll just have to place a requisition for extra ammo the first time around."

He looked at the egg with consideration as he registered the fact that it could take on the form of a gunblade simply by adding another spell to it. Just a moment ago, he thought it would only be useful for teleportation, but apparently it merely stored that single spell. Even though he declined her offer, he wondered what else she might be able to do with it.

"Is it possible to infuse the egg with a summoning spell of some sort? I won't need it right now, but maybe after I finish making the gunblades. It could prove useful having access to them without having to carry them around everywhere I went."
