{{Well if the fir covered Tali decides to post, Tama is outside if he wishes to strike a converstation. Our characters never really met IC so I figure it would be a good time.

Unless of course the "Kill Button" is too shiny to resist.}}

"Indeed that was unexpected. Are you sure you understand the ramifications of seceding or joining another organization. It can be likened to insubordination in the military."

Sighing he stared at her incredulously for a moment.

"You forget that you carry with you secrets and policy that no other organization knows. Its not as easy as just deciding you want to go and everyone will wash their hands of the situation. Your setting up a whole new s**t storm of events by even thinking about it"

Looking truly perturbed the old Kitsune shook his head.

"Think before you let your emotions guide you into something you may regret. Hell aren't you still trying to coming to terms with your own past as a whole."

With that said he took a deep breath trying not to say anything else he might regret.

::Unks sat in silence listening to everything being said around him. He picked the wrong time to come home it seems. Everyone was so interested in the conversation no one seemed to notice him enter the building, not even his own wife. He cleared his throat slightly and looked over at the group::

"It seems I've got perfect timing for a return. . .What is all the commotion about?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:48 pm

"Leave her be Sasha."

Again, Red's attention turned to her mentor, and her voice carried a tone that suggested she felt herself an equal or even a superior to him. Nothing in her face indicated this rationale, and she maintained a calm tenor when she spoke. However, one should feel loathe to suggest that she was being particularly defensive.

"You may be trying to protect her, but it would be an injustice to insist that she sacrifice happiness for safety. The guild invited her of her own free will and so should they let her go. If they will feel as threatened as you suggest, they should think twice about how they make their decisions and impose them on their subordinates."

She was of the mind to speak carefully, but she was also inclined to speak her mind. Where the line between the two lay was hard to say, but she remained as calm and nonthreatening as possible to avoid any confusion.

"Seeing as such organizations are none too pleased with losing a member, especially one as unique a case as Epithany, would you say she would appreciate us pushing her back in as surely as the Archmages will try to pull?"

She paused for a moment, her progress hindered by some unseen obstacle that forced her to bite her tongue rather than continue. Whatever had crossed her mind was unpleasant, and she didn't bother to mask it, but she returned her attention to her tutor with a separate question altogether.

"As a brother, why are you so quick to advise, but so slow to support?"

Being scolded like a child didn't sit well with her. While a lot of what he was saying had truth to it. She was tired of feeling alienated by an organization that was supposed to support her. She was far from the first mage to secede from the guild. Hadn't she been rehabilitated for the past decade and a half.

"Consequences be damned. I'm tired of trying to prove that I share their core values. What makes the guild any better than any other organization. Aren't they creating a force to police the world in their terms. I still wish to make my mark on the world, but I want to do it on my terms."

Rising from her seat she grasped her empty mug to return it to the kitchen. Pausing in mid step she turned back to look at Red.

"I'll think over your offer. Its intriguing to say the least."

Quickly switching her gaze to Kendo she sighed.

"I know what your trying to do. But I think its time I faced that I'll never be anything more than Anima to them. I could scream myself hoarse but they won't hear anything but the hidden agenda of the Dragon overlord. Perhaps now is the time I let them know of the name Epithany"

With that said she continued on toward the Kitchen, her gazing resting briefly on her husband. Saying nothing she continued behind the bar counter.

"Finally something on interest."

::Unks saw his wife moving towards the kitchen and slid off his bar stool and followed after her. It has been so long since they had seen each other, and they both missed one another greatly no doubt. So now was the time to go and be with the woman he loved after so long.

The saiya-Jin caught up with his wife and wrapped his arms around her softly and slowly pulling her against him in a warm, tight, loving embrace. He closed his eyes and took in her scent. It has been so long since he felt the warmth of her body and had her smell his is nose::

"Hello my love. I have missed you greatly, but it seems I have returned at the wrong time. You seemed troubled. I hope it isn't because of me. I am sorry if it is my fault."

Rising almost in tandem with the soon to be ex-Solarian guild member he slammed his hand on the table top. Calling after he seemed considerably more agitated than he had ever appeared prior.

"Dammit Epithany, My hand will be ******** tied this time. This isn't going to be a battle its going to be a war of sorts. Past or not. What happened when you were Anima actually went down. A lot of those bastards in that guild of yours were around during that time. Tedin won't be able to do a damn thing either."

Despite not being in earshot by that momen, he knew his words would reach her. Turning to Red he expression remained considerably dark.

"You do realize they are going to be hounding you as well. This s**t goes down as farther than you could ever imagine. Like I said, I'm an Archmage as well. That makes me vital link between the Solarians and the Shadow mages. My personal wishes amount to a hill of dung when that much s**t is at stake."

Slumping back down once again he buried his face in his hands.

"Some of those ******** have just been waiting for a reason to act. Part of that is why I never wanted her to get taught by them in the first place."

Red looked on and listened without sympathy for either party involved, offering only a nod to Epithany in response to her consideration over the proposed job offer. Between the two of them, her elders held a considerable amount of feeling back most of the time to explode the way did. Things seemed to just fall apart for them both, and the scent of frustration, bitterness, fear, and determination only seemed to cloud things.

She listened as Sasha spoke, but watched as Epithany left, soon to be joined by her husband. Were she in such a situation, would she be particularly happy to see her lover? Matters between couples were theirs and theirs alone, and she still had Sasha, agitated to no end, beside her and damn near beside himself.

"They sound rather juvenile to consider themselves so important in worldly affairs.

She eyed him, answering his dark expression with an intense, passive indifference. His concern was noted. It was appreciated. That was about all though. He had gotten himself into such a mess long before she had met him. She would not begrudge him the decisions he had to make.

A number of responses came to mind, most of them to do with his inability to keep her out before and keep her in now. It wasn't fair to burden him with the blame or guilt of it, and she did not. Epithany was ambitious even as a child according to what Red knew. As such, the only two things to humble her would be ignorance or experience. She was too knowledgeable to be kept out of the guild. Now she knew too much to stay in. All Sasha could do in fairness was watch.

"If it's what they want, then so be it. Do what you can, or do what you must. The choice is yours."

Feeling Unks's arms wrap around her from behind she closed her eyes listening to the sound of his voice and feeling his breath on her neck. Sighing inwardly she grasped his arms hugging them tightly.

"No...this time the problem is all on me. But I'm not going to take back what I've done. Just like that old fool said. The past doesn't stop being the past just because we do something different in the present."

Kissing his his hand she sighed once again.

"You have no clue what I'm talking about. But you'll understand soon enough."

Turning his grasp to face him she buried her face in his chest and then looked up at him, wrapping her arms around his torso pulling him close.

"How would you feel about me never going back to the guild again. No guild, no me mysteriously disappearing unexpectantly for weeks at a time. Just general freedom."

Knowing that he would still likely not understand what this all mean't she once more buried her face into him groaning something inaudibly.

Sighing inwardly he nodded at the Ruby Kitsune's statement.

"Yeah...I hope your ready for the s**t storm as well. I had an inkling things would happen like this. But I was hoping that it would likely pass us over and she would realize her position."

Gritting his teeth he slumped further in his seat.

"Best wishes are just that. Wishes."

Glancing towards the kitchen he frowned.

"Get ready for a fight. Pith will likely accept your offer. Time won't be dull."

::Unks smiled and held her in his arms as she burried her head into his chest and groaned. He sighed softly loving the feeling of her body in his arms once more. He kissed the stop of her head and let out a small laugh.

"You right love, I have no idea what your talking about, but I am sure you will give me all the information when your ready too."

He could sense the tension coming from the Elder mage, and figured he had a hand in this, but he was also angry towards Red which means she too has a hand in this as well. It was best not to get involved he thought, but since it concerned his wife he had no choice in the matter::

"Love if breaking away from the guild and having freedom is what you wish to do, then do it. I support you 100% like you support me and my crazy actions. Maybe more freedom will give us more time together. So leave the guild if you wish. I'm here to back you up."

A deep breath passed between her lips as slid her seat up once again so close to the table, she had no choice but to sit up straight. What Epithany had in mind was anyone's guess, but Red did not figure it in itself to be too threatening. She would allow as much freedom as she could, but she would not turn a deaf ear on Sasha's warnings.

"I read a book recently. A guild was mentioned in it as well. So large was its web that it was connected to almost every facet of every nation that shared the sea. The fate of a nation could hang on the words of one master, whose identity was so secret not even their direct subordinates knew who they were."

Her eyes sought to meet his and demand he pay close attention, as opposed to simply requesting it. Feigning confidence in the midst of so many unknown variables was a fool's errand, and if he were truly concerned, he'd listen carefully.

"One woman played the game so well she turned a wilderness of barbaric savages into a joint unified military against her own nation. In the end she failed. The guild held nothing against her for it, even though she was exiled...after a fashion. She remained in their service while avoiding the justice truly meant for her. What made this woman so dangerous however was her ability to gain loyalty. Not only from lower guildsmen, but from free men as well. A guild apart as it were."

Another measured gaze matched by a measured silence, the intensity flowing from the Ruby Kitsune commanded outsiders not to intrude and insisted on insiders taking heed.

"She was a true master of the art. If you're as skilled as I assume, you're damn near close as well. Should you have one person not affiliated with the Shadow Mages or the Solarian Guild, not recognizable to either as a unique or important individual, and loyal to a fault, I would suggest they meet me some time soon. If you do not, then teach us both what we need to know before we part ways indefinitely."

Glancing up at him with a broken smile she blinked.

"I wish I could just file an application of leave and be done with it, but ramifications are stifling. It means everything I do is going to be scrutinized even furhter. Its like electing myself to become public enemy number one in the eyes of my former colleagues."

Pulling away from her husband she sighed filling her mug with water from the sink.

"I'm glad your with me on this. Despite how crazy and inane it may be. I hope will be able to actually utilize this new found freedom. Perhaps now is the time to stop atoning and to finally start living."

( I am gonna go after this post. I've got bowling tonight, but I will be back after that.)

::Unks looked down at this wife as she looked up at him. His smile only broke when her's did. He listen to what she had to say and nodded slowly in response. He held her closely again him and spoke, softly, just above a whisper.

"Sometimes love, life wants to make things harder for us and our choices, but we made a commitment to each other and I am gonna stick to it. So yeah I got your back on this."

He smiles and pulled her even closer to him and whispered in her ear softly::

"Besides this freedom will let us work on a lot of things. Like starting a family."
