“He is not just my ghosts, he is yours as well.”
Tamashii unlike many here at Orion dwelled and dabbled into the dead, one could say that he was the connection between the dead here at CO. From what he had seen none had such a bond with death or life like he did and so when one simply wanted to talk to the forest or a dead uncle, Tama was the Devil you came too. Several times people have asked him for passage into the Abyss, others for passage into the great mountains, he was the Gatekeeper of both worlds. So when a soul that slipped past even his careful eye managed to reform on its own into living flesh and blood he found it….disturbing to say the least.
“You remember Skiro, don’t you? It seems he has evolved beyond both our understandings. Not truly alive, but not dead.”

Crossing his arms over his chest he looked on at his protege in amusement.
"Would you rather I left you out in the cold? Your words may be one thing but your body language didn't seem to agree."
Yawning he leaned against the counter, sensing the distinct spike and following drop in Epithany's mana levels.
"Observation has it strong points as well. Don't sell yourself short."
Clasping his hands behind his back he smirked.
"You were saying you wanted tea? I'll go prepare some. Like you implied. Some things are better if you take the time to do them right."
Vaulting the counter he disappeared into the kitchen.

Wesley glared sarcastically at the monkey woman, his eye drooping a little. Someone of such great political standing with a proportionately miniature stature, he perfected the art of looking down at people taller than himself.
"Or they've all got a deathwish. It's all the same to me."
He returned his attention briefly to the brat. Apparently she couldn't take a blow as easily as she was willing to attack. One bump to the counter and she was out cold. Exactly what hope did she think to have? She seemed to know Taliman by appearance alone, which was not at all a shock. On this planet perhaps yes, but her scent gave away that she might not be a native. If she knew the Emperor, it would strain reality for her to not also realize the futility in attacking him. So, what the hell?
Using the pause to return to the task at hand, he filled his glass halfway with the whiskey of choice before capping the bottle and returning it to it's proper place. He was sipping from his cup when the little girl began to stir. He blurted out in a dulled, monotone manner of voice in response to her moment of clarity.
"Well duh."
Another sip from his whiskey, and he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he downed it. The taste was hard to savor with this annoyance. It's hard to relax in a situation that illicits frustration. Again he got that look of contempt from the girl. He was hated by many, sure, but she seemed the type to put time aside each day to loathe him whether he was there to attack or not. Tali responded first and foremost to her statement in disbelief, part of his conscience nagging at the back of his head that it was silly to be bickering at a child.
"From doing what? I just came in for a drink. Lay off, brat."

Discomfort could be tolerated. Even if her body was not as stubborn as her mind, she knew her limits reasonably well. Furthermore, she had not said she was dissatisfied with his assistance either. Gratitude, though she was not prone to express it with any vigor, was owed him regardless. He left to make the tea before she determined whether or not to say any of this.
It dawned on her as she moved from the bar towards the tables, one nearer the hallway, that Epithany had not yet made it inside. Just how long it would take was anyone's considering her mood. Keeping her thoughts to herself, Red seized one of the chairs facing the open club, drew it and took a seat, sitting close enough to the table that she had little choice but to maintain a correct posture.
Looking toward the only possible source of entertainment, she found the girl that was so unceremoniously slammed into the bar counter had regained consciousness. Mockingly, Taliman seemed to only be able to respond to any of them with sarcasm, which she assumed was his way of asserting his superiority over them. None of it much mattered to Red, but she found it was better than staring off into space. On this occasion at least.

((Geez! On top of performing such a heinous act, they even resorted to say the lords name in vain. I'm not even a religious person, and that's horrible case of adding insult to injury. Where honor and respect resides in this day and age seems to be a mystery to me. Whatever happened to honest work and perseverance to get what one wants.))
The great doors to the entrance slid open with start as Epithany returned to the Orion. Pausing in the threshold of the doorway she appeared preoccupied beyond what had transpired atop the tower, turning to peer back up toward the locatioon. Sighing inwardly she absent mindedly pulled the door shut behind her. Returning her gaze to the main corridor she caught sight of Red already planted at the bar.
"Oh did I really take so long to return? I don't recall you knowing any time dilation techniques. But I assume Sasha had something to do with that."
Finding a seat next to the Red head she propped her head in her palms wondering if they had sensed her impromptu transformation. Truth be told it was old hat to them about draconic abilities but over the past few years the incidents regarding her transformations were becoming more and more prevalent. Her control as well was becoming more than a second nature.
Drumming her fingers on the counter top she realized she had once again been drawn off into her own thoughts once again. Slumping over she turned to the Kitsune.
"Maybe I should take a break...I feel like I'm losing myself bit by bit at times."

"Skiro," he replied contemplatively, a silence surrounding Tama once again. Keno's mind was temporarily elsewhere, landing himself some place that he might have also been close to home in his past. A place called...Pocky Addiction, where he had fought a person by the name in a tournament, who he remembered being a rather talented fighter. That was an old memory as far as his social life was concerned, he damn near forgot it.
"You know," he said rather suddenly, coming back to himself, "I really like Pocky. I wonder if the building is still there." He mused half humorously to himself for a moment before taking the topic a touch more seriously.
"Actually I don't even remember the guy's face," he confessed, "but I remember liking him. Didn't know he died...or stopped living...or whatever. Interesting that he has transcended 'life' and 'death' but I personally don't believe in any median. He's definitely one or the other...
"Anyway, what is his deal coming here at this time? Does he want something or has he not told you?"

Things were getting all the more awkward and uncomfortable for the young kitsune as his aunt confronted his uncle and Kaen came to. Naturally, Tali was about as receptive of any aggression or biting remarks as he usually was, which would likely only anger his aunt more. Cynicism was never really much appreciated in such situations. Kaen san on the other hand was giving him more to worry about than he would rather appreciate, and the shock on his face when she threatened Tali yet again said as much.
"Nani o iundano? Ano hito wa zettai ni abunai," he said in a frantic whisper, forgetting himself in his Japanese. "Shizuka ni sihte kure!" He'd have turned his back to her to try and play diplomat between the ladies and the emperor, but he was afraid she might randomly launch to her doom again, and would rather that not happen.
"Honestly, you should probably rest. A blow to the head can be more dangerous in the long run if you're not careful." For all that he wanted to end this, he was of the mind that it would make more sense to ask his uncle to leave rather than placate the women. Despite Tali's claim to only be here for a drink, Kenta found the behavior rather odd. Everyone knew that his uncles were anything but loving toward one another, and on more than one occasion Tali had tried to kill Deity with various levels of failure looming over the venture. Nevertheless, he made it a point to always come to the Orion, where more people hated than loved him, for "a drink."
Why not go anywhere else where people won't bother you, assault you, batter you with hostility and venomous tongues? Despite his expressed irritation, Kenta believed Tali fed on it, probably needed it in a sense in order to keep going. There was not much sense otherwise in returning to a place you clearly weren't wanted. Granted, Tali could take care of himself and he knew it all too well, was that any reason to walk into a fight that could be otherwise avoided?
His thoughts were swimming rapidly in his head, but the one that anchored them all was his lack of faith in his uncle's words. As an emperor, he had to be more clever than that. He knew exactly what he was doing, and why, even if no one else did.
Were it up to Kenta, he'd have asked his uncle to leave, but one is reluctant to oppose family, estranged or no.

Returning from the kitchen with both a teapot and a battery operated kettle in hand he set them atop the bar counter top. Eying the progressing confrontation between the Kit and the other Kitsune elder present he remained silent returning his attention to the two women he was entertaining.
"Hope your feeling a bit better Epithany. Red spoke of tea. But it occurred to me that I did not ask what kind. Some people are pretty particular as to what they will drink, thus I grabbed a little of everything. If your not ready to choose yet. Your in luck. Heating water under mundane means has a fail-safe."
It amused him on how he was so ingrained with the use of magic in his everyday activities. It was nice to let the the world progress as it would without it. But so may moments were lost in the waiting. But who knows. Perhaps he was missing something.
Wandering away from his small group he loomed over to the other group. Clasping his hands behind his back he smiled warmly.
"Invitation of tea is passed on to you all as well"
Spying the other elder male he bowed his head.
"I sometimes find tea has a more calming nature than alcohol. Wouldn't you agree?"

Tamashii sat for a moment in thought before thinking of the correct response.
"There you are wrong, there are many realms and stages of death, trust me I watch them all. I am not sure exactly if he is alive, but he is not dead he is something else. It worries me that he has found a deep crack amongst the complex that is the realms between life and death. I am worried because I don't know if he is in control or if he is crying for help but I doubt he would stay somewhere he is not happy with. I am not sure what action to take on this matter and will be forced to wait until I can discover more on his current status. I am surprised you don't after all he was one of the most gifted elementals
He thought deeply again trying to figure out any last second thoughts he may have forgotten before moving on. Recalling a place called Pocky Addiction before moving forward with the conversation.
"So exactly why is it you dislike the current CO?"

Just a note; Red is no longer at the bar. She moved to one of the tables in my last post.
"A break...from what?"
As Epithany took her seat, Red slid her chair back a few inches, leaning into it more casually, her eyes assuming another calculating gaze. How she meant the question to come off was of little consequence to her, but she was of the mind to clarify.
"I plead a pardon if I offend, but from what I see, there is nothing in your life to take a break from, other than the monotony of naught to do."
At that moment, Sasha returned, and Red's attention shifted momentarily to the tea. Her mentor had been kind enough to let her decide which tea she - and perhaps they - would drink. The owner of the club had a decent selection in house. She had given him too little credit. With her body still fighting out the cold, she quickly picked three to prepare; peppermint, chamomile, and lavender.
"You do not mind do you?"
Whether or not it was to either of their tastes, the water would have to heat first. Being herbs, they would steep best in water near boiling temperature, so she would not have to bother monitoring anything. Setting the kettle, she placed the tea aside. Were Epithany or Sasha to find her choice disagreeable, they would have a few moments at least to compromise.
Her ears perked incredulously as the invitation for tea extended towards the pup, his elders, and his acquaintance. Assuming they could put their differences aside, Red cared very little about their company, but she would rather have nothing to do with them if they insisted on acting so childish. Her eyes lingered over Sasha for a moment, as though trying to understand his gesture, but she returned instead to Epithany, resuming the conversation from a different vantage.
"I do not see my lover over much either. It is saddening."
