Raising her gaze toward her brother, she mainly just blinked at him in the startling silence he had created. Sighing inwardly she rose to her feet glancing past the tall man towards the other woman.

"I'm sorry you had to see that. But its nice to see that we are on good enough terms actually have you come out to see how I was doing."

Walking past her junior she stood at the edge of the tower gazing towards the still clouded horizon.

"Though a change scenery might be good...I do not wish to run away from my problems. You've been there to bail me out of everything little issue I have ever had."

She grew silent as if trying to choose the next words she had in mind.

"...I thank you for that...But I'm a big girl now. Its okay to feel weak at times. Weakness is life's way of telling us what we have left to work toward."

Running her hand through her hair she sighed once again.

"I'll be fine. Sometimes a brothers job is to stand back. You lost your chance to be anything else a long time a go."

Taking a deep breath she stretched splaying her hands to the sky.

"His invitation stands for the Soul Fountain. But as of right now, if you aren't too embarrassed by my tirade. I think a drink is in order..."

With that she dropped off the tower disappearing from view.

Another long lost voice e from the past that had come to welcome him home, after what had just occurred Tamashii was starting to regret long lost voices.

Old greetings where starting to become tiresome for him.

A mental message was sent back to Kenotao as Tamashii started to lumber his way back towards Orion. Pushing through the cold air and ice covered wind as if the harsh conditions did not exist.

Ghost are dead, he was very much alive though i don;t know how yet. I have been good through these many days, yourself?

Message thought and sent much like one would send an Email or a text message. Tamashii could not open up direct mental lines with people but instead tapped into their Soul, located their position and spiritual sent a message so that their third mind could retrieve it from the space. It would only take a second or so but Kenotao would hear the faint whisper of Tamashii’s voice and respond.

The cold wind would bite at his skin but the battle worn warrior only scoffed off the harsh conditions, a nuisance to him not something that would cripple him. His feet crushing the ground under him as he took long strides back towards the Co to address his old friend in person.

"I'm fine, but I would prefer if you just spoke plainly. I'm not intending to show myself, and there's no need for telepathy." A light humor rang in his voice, but his message also carried warning. Tama could look all he wanted, but he'd never see Keno, no matter how well he could hear him.

"If it's too cold out, I can speak with you later, but once you go back to the club, I'm gone. Have a seat." It was understandable that Tama would want to see Keno, and it only made sense that he assumed Keno's being able to communicate suggested he was somewhere nearby, but as it stood there was nothing more to the tiger than his voice.

"Not dead, but only you seemed to be talking. Your friend able to warp reality maybe? Far as I could see, no one else at the club noticed he was anywhere around, not even me." An edge of discomfort lined his last statement, a contemplative trail and uncertain tension following the silence. Lately, Keno had grown weary of keeping his vigil, but even so, it was rare that anyone slipped in right under his nose. He should probably question Tama about that, but he really didn't know why or how he should do that.

Tamashii halted his advance towards Club Orion and took in the words of his friend, digesting them in his mind and allowing them to sink in before responding, once again speaking to the cold air…

He was tired of talking to ghosts but for an old friend, anything.

“I see, is there something I should know?”

Cold? Now Kenotao was just being a smart-a** but Tamahsii fluffed off the humor as he literally, took a seat. His body planting firmly in an Indian Style position as he rested his hands in his lap and closed his eyes, taking in all the sounds and life around him, Kenotao was right for Tamashii could not sense him anywhere.

“Wind Speaking, have not done this since the old days. I can’t seem to find you on any realm, you where always good at sticking to the shadows. Before we get into who I was talking to perhaps you can tell me what is going on and why the wavelengths tremble when you mention Club Orion?”

Tamashii chuckled for a slight second, he had no doubt Kenotao would be surprised that though Tamashii could not see him or know his location, he could still FEEL him. Even a voice brought with it a soul but Tamashii was by no means actually trying to locate Keno, he was just making sure his friend’s emotional status remained in the green.

“I may be blind old friend but I know when friends have problems, tell me if you wish to talk, you have my attention.”

"Nothing you should know, and nothing bothering me. It's rather difficult for life to get you down when you're not really a part of it, you know?" Another silence, but since this was Tama, he could probably guess that Keno was giving off his trademark smirk, which he wore pretty much...whenever. It didn't really mean anything in and of itself, but he wore it nonetheless more often than not.

"As for the Orion, same old same old as far as I can tell. Tali has a habit of showing up for two reasons; either he wants to kick Deity's a** or he wants to raise a few hairs. Good at what he does isn't he?" Now there was definitely humor in that last question, the wind chill brushing by on cue, but then all was still, all was waiting, and Keno wasn't speaking. He had intentionally misinterpreted his friend's question, but he wasn't not going to answer it. Being unable to see him, one could only guess what he was up to as he mulled the thought over in his mind. All in all he didn't have much to say, but he still had to pick his words carefully.

"We all need to grow up is all. It appears to me that you took the right step forward, but I do worry about the rest of us. As you can see, we're all still here."

"Tali has always been a little on the edge but thus is CO. It would not be home without every spike haired sally and loon running around with drama now would it?"

Tamashii was old, very old, and the statement he had just spoken was some new slang the young folks used now a days. He was not sure what exactly it all meant but he knew it was a casual gesture that Taliman and the Drama that occurred around him was pointless in Tama’s eyes.

“I have walked far from CO but even an old Abyss Devil like me needs something familiar every now and then. The old ghosts that keep popping up though are starting to agitate me.”

The cold air washed against his still form again as his mind slowly transcended to several realms at once. Like a geek checking his email Tamashii was actually having a conversation with several people at once, using the Spiritual Wavelengths to connect with several people and address matters long forgotten. Well technically he was only having a conversation with Kenotao but was also looking at several conflicts that interested him for some time. The Peace Treaty had been signed on Krakar V but a slight rebel outbreak had occurred on the swampy planet of Kyrta. Other than that nothing to worry himself over and hence he returned his full attention to Keno.

“So what have you been up to lately, other than playing the Ghost of Christmas past? You seem distant, excluding the whole not being present part.”

Nodding her head, she considered Epithany silently, the shorter curls of her hair bouncing forward before returning to place. Without interruption she listened to what she personally assessed to be something of a private conversation between the two, although it was rather one sided. Her opinion to herself, her tail was the only response she offered, swinging to and fro to measure the time for lack of better to do.

Perhaps Epithany misunderstood Sasha's words, or maybe he misunderstood her troubles. To Red, what they said and what she heard was likely very different, yet she offered no opinion and sought no clarity. She was yet to determine how much this problem might involve her. When Epithany jumped off the tower edge, she sighed - prompted to do something.

"I imagined her to be more independent."

The frost that escaped her lips did nothing to remove the dry edge from her voice. She took no note of it, her eyes fixed upon Sasha for the moment, who was trying harder to be helpful than she.

"I thought your history something more like sibling rivalry, but she regards you as something more. And you her. Or so it seems.

"...

"Are you bitter?"

Sucking on his tongue the elder fox remained silent still absorbing the words thrown back at him. Closing his eyes he bowed his head with a smirk listening to Red's inquiry.

"Yeah she has become more independent in the past few years. I spent 5 years of my life traveling with that woman. Well she was just a little girl at the time, but she diverged from the path I wished for her..."

Sighing inwardly he mumbled a phrase in the spidery language of magic, the barrier he had cast slowly dissolving back into its winter like visage.

"While she was in school there was a time we were something more. That was until she found out about my part in the whole Anima/Elder Dragon thing. That kind of put the breaks on things. Took a few years to get things to wear they are now..."

Realizing he was revealing more than he intended he smiled.

"Bitter...I don't know about that...but bittersweet could fit."

Strolling toward the edge of the tower he glanced downward.

"She really could have done better in my book...but who knows."

PostPosted: Wed Dec 10, 2008 5:09 pm

"Hypothetically, any of us could have done better...at a lot of things."

She approached him as she spoke, nearing the edge of the tower so that she might also peer over. There wasn't much to see - or little of interest anyway - but she registered that she could not just jump off the same way Epithany had done. Twenty stories was enough to put her body in shock before she hit the ground, which would be none too graceful.

"Desire and potential sometimes clash."

For a moment she thought about all Sasha had said, attaching none of the embarrassing judgments or assessments on accidentally leaked information. Knowing what little she did, such a reaction from Epithany was not unexpected, though she would never know the full weight of it personally.

"I still want my tea, so perhaps we should join her."

With nothing further, she remounted the disc of compacted ice sitting on the edge of the roof and began her descent. She might have offered Epithany a downcast glare had she not been personally desirous of escaping the cold. For all that she did not express her discomfort, some things can't be controlled.

"Me?" he asked, though more as a precursor to his answer than a question in its own right. "I've just been around. Nothing remarkable to speak of. The usual I guess." He paused for a moment to reconsider the question so that he could clarify. What he was up to was hard to say, but why he was doing it was easy enough to explain.

"I've been restless really. Not enough excitement. Even though chaos is the norm at Orion, it's become too commonplace a theme. I need a new brand of chaos as much as I need peace from the antics that occur there. So far, I'm not getting a fair trade-off." Again with the lightness of heart, the carefree attitude that said he either truly didn't care, or if he did he wasn't going to let it get him down any. There was no need insofar as he could tell to get overly sensitive about something like this.

"Why don't you tell me about these ghosts of yours. You do call them ghosts, but you just said that whoever you're talking to is alive...somehow. Care to elaborate how a ghost can be alive?"

Free falling the several stories from tower to the waiting earth below would be ludicrous to the average individual. Further exacerbating the situation was the apparent climate conditions which inadvertently caused anything moving over a certain rate to immediately gather water vapor which ceremoniously froze within seconds.

While the mage had portended to perform this task on many occasions and survived; Her inability to account for the changes in variables was apparent.

"Yeah...this is what you get for showing off."

The act of hopping off the roof was merely a ploy to show that she had conquered what was ailing her moments before. Albeit that was true to some extent, the show of bravado was more for herself than for those she had left behind atop the tower.

"Think bookworm you've only got a little less than a minute of freefall, the frost has made your movements too sluggish to draw runes. Displacing doesn't account well for momentum. Hastening down the side of a tower would only make the splat that much faster. Dammit!"

Instinctively she knew there was only one other option. Parting the air particles around her a heavy discharge of energy pulsed forth from her form. The following explosion of force would have likely toppled most other structures, but due to the Orion's construction most would feel a slight vibration

A bestial yowl cut through the air as she hovered mere feet from the ground. Two majestic wings had torn through form her her shirt, leaving much of the back ragged. Semi transparent the light seemed to dance through them as they wafted in the cool air distorting paths of snow as they beat rhythmically. Landing lightly on the ground the wings shattered like panes of glasses the energy that summoned them drawing them back into her form. It frightened her how normal that felt. Perhaps more normal than her current state.

"Dammit!"

Sighing inwardly she quickly drew a series of runes, the torn portion of her clothing readily mending itself. Heading up the pathway she made her way back inside the Orion's heavy doors.

Smirking at her knack for twisting words he bowed his head once again.

"Indeed, I believe your correct on that. There's always room for improvement. Thinking your ever completely done with anything is a grand fallacy."

Watching her step atop her disc of ice he peered down at her as she made her descent.

"You sound like you speak from experience. Either that or your observation skills are beyond top notch."

Stretching he smirked cracking his tail.

"You know there are easier ways to get down than that. I knew there were more spells I could have brought up."

Dropping off the tower he landed in the shadow she cast, it bleeding and spreading over the surface of her disc.

"This wouldn't be one of them."

Within the next moment the shadow had become the consistency of a gel, slowly drawing them in until all was black. Before she could blink they were rising up in the bar area of the Orion.

"Its flashier from the outside."

:: For a moment everything was dark.

But then Kaen was back. She was lying on the bartop, her vision a disco ball of glittery lights reflecting off the shiny black surface of the bar, and fuzzy shapes she knew to be people beyond that. There was tension in the air, and she could feel it tightening around her small body as physically as she felt her clothes on her skin and the cool hardness of the bartop. Banging her noggin had rebooted her empathy, and her senses were now buzzing with the sentience, free from the protective barriers she usually had up to protect her mind from being overwhelmed.

Vaguely she could hear Kenta, soft Japanese asking if she was alright. She felt Jade's hand on her shoulder. As she struggled to replace her barriers, the rush of the sentience was replaced with the sensations of reality and finally, when Kaen was the only one left in her head, she sat up.

She felt incredibly stupid. How stupid was it, to attack a man so powerful that he would, if left unchecked, kill her nigh-invincible older brother? Pretty damn stupid. So stupid she bothered to comment on it aloud, mostly to herself. ::

"That was really stupid."

:: She brushed her knuckles across her forehead, giving the bruise a good rub. It hardly hurt, being part-demon, she had recovered quickly despite the blow being powerful enough to knock her briefly unconscious; she'd always been thankful for the little ways her demonic heritage helped out. She looked up into Jade's concerned eyes, gave her a nod of reassurance, and then moved her gaze to the red-haired man who stood just beyond Kenta's boundary. Oh, how she loathed him. Her heart burned with hatred of his very image. Only the knowledge that he would knock her senseless again kept her from attacking him a second time, and even that was barely enough to keep her restrained. She couldn't find words, only grit down her teeth in desperate self-control. ::

"I will stop you."

Again at the bar, and it seemed the girl who had recklessly rushed to her misfortune was coming to. Despite the unexpected occurrence, Red seemed neither shocked nor impressed. Something closer to disappointment might have been glimmering behind her eyes, though she voiced no ill will.

"I see no reason to do everything quickly."

She scanned the area for Epithany's presence, having beaten the mage to the interior. Perhaps that was lesson to be learned from free falling off of a large tower. Concessions were surely made; Red had felt Epithany's mana surge prior to Sasha's. Since they would have to wait a moment, the ruby kitsune finally took it upon herself to brush the snow from her shoulders.

"To your prior question, I do not speak much from experience. Too little of it. It was just my opinion."
