Huddled atop the Orion tower the mage sat lone hugging her knee's to her chest. The brisk winds blew steadily around her tussling with her emerald green tresses. Threatening to whip the hat from her head she seem oblivious to the weather.
Despite her distress she had somehow managed stave off any tears she might have otherwise had out of frustration. Forgoing the usual barrier spells that generally shielded her from such temperatures she remained staring out into space before her. Shivering steadily it was clear her clothing did little to shield her from the cold.
The horizon lay blotted out by flurried snow as she made little notice of two coming out to check up on her. Burying her face in her knee's she sighed deeply not sure what to say to them once they arrived.
To her, the problems she had become so flustered about were inconsequential. In comparison to others she was considerably better off. Her marriage was as such because she lead a life that was so considerably different than his. The fact that they even connected so well was something of a miracle in itself. Her lack of faith in her situation was something that she found she had thought little of.
So is this what I wanted? Studied from afar by my own colleagues. Loving a man I don't entirely respect? Dammit when the hell did things get like this. I expected to be doing great things and yet I'm generally just going through the motions of it all
Groaning she grabbed her hat which was threatening to be blown from her head. At least her head could remain warm in this childish endeavor.

It was just her luck that the tower was merely serving as a coincidental windbreak for her. Once safely atop the roof, the breeze caught her full on, gently, but persistently. Her arms drew up against her chest, though she did not shudder or stiffen under the cold. It could be likened to training perhaps, but to her, knowing the cold would not immediately kill her made it tolerable. Expressing discomfort was one of those trivial things.
Being her first time ever upon the roof of the club, she stole a personal moment to take in the view of the horizon, the lines blurred by the layer of snow covering everything. There was a town nearby, she knew, but the blanket of trees dominated the scene, with only distant mountainous terrain to break the monotony. It was vivid, but not bright as the veil of clouds shielded the woods of much of the light.
It crossed her mind to step forward, but she saw no merit in it, so she stood there in the wind chill with but her denim jacket to protect her, ignoring her own discomfort for...what? She knew Epithany enough to fight beside her, but that was about it. Much like the other patrons, she rarely expressed any emotional discomfort not likened to anger or shyness. From the looks of things, she was having something like an identity crisis; troubled, though not necessarily sad.
As it was, Red had no words of reassurance. In fact, she was pretty sure that nothing she could say would be considered in any way helpful. Clearing her throat, she assumed an expression of impatience, deciding to offer a willing ear if Epithany could find her physical voice. Her decision to check on her senior was expected to produce a result, and if nothing was to come of her standing in the freezing cold, she simply would not do it.

The air grew still shortly after the ruby Kitsune's arrival. Seemingly parted with ease the bitter winds had abruptly subsided and were replaced by a unerring calm. Not unlike a cool autumn evening the remaining trappings of snow and its ilk were the only reminders they had not been swept off into another world.
To all present the steady flow mana could be felts as if a wind itself. Piercing into the stark oasis of calm that easily covered a great portion of the Orion's structure the fox sage brushed off strays bits of snow which had peppered his personage.
"Your going to catch a cold at this rate grasshead..."
He knew well that she despised the moniker he had bestowed upon her, but having her angry with him far out stripped the seeming depression that had brought her to her current predicament. Not awaiting the hopeful respite he continued on this time in a more serious tone.
"As frivolous as it may sound, perhaps you should take a break from the Orion Pith? A change of scenery may be more in your favor. Dwelling on what ails you can only exacerbate the situation further."
Walking past the junior of his students he reached out his hand to the girl that he had seen blossom into the powerful mage and scholar he saw before him.
"I happen to know this place called the Soul Fountain. The crowds are a bit more focused on being studious than brawn. But that might be more up our alley"
Giving a playful wink as he spoke, he turned his head to catch sight of the other woman present.
"The invitation goes to you as well."

Tamashii had felt many presences amongst the folks here at CO but one caught his attention far more than any other.....and it was not Deity.
No a force of Magic and Mystery that far exceeded any person he knew here and far more them he himself projected. He felt no need to alarm anyone to his actions and s without haste he stood up, casually walked to the door, opened it with a simple tug, and closed it behind him. His foots steps not making a sound regardless of his size as he walked out into the brisk air with a motive and a means to an ends.
He walked forward in long and lumbering strides that carried him like a titan across the open pathway and deep into the woods. His black form mixing with the shadows and vanishing out from the light and into the darkness of the woods. Trees blurred by him and a bird chirped somewhere as he headed through the forest, following the trail of a ghost only it was not a trail. He could feel the vibrations in the earth and smell the scent of his prey, he was catching up. Faster and faster he felt his heart pound and all the while he himself did not increase his pace but only mildly walked with a sense of purpose.
It was not long before he came across his old friend….sitting in a clearing with a soft expression on his face.
“Hello”
Hello Tamashii
"Are you really here."
Now we both know the answer to that question now don’t we.
"Why?"
We know that one as well, to see your finally transcendence, you didn’t think I was going to sit this one out did you?
"Why hide?"
Silly Devil, still asking questions you already know the answers too.
"But do you know the answers for yourself."
Now we both know the answer to that question now don’t we?
"Silly Rabbit…"
Tricks are for
"Kids……"
With that whisper, that single word, the creature Tamashii had been addressing vanished. Of course any onlooker would not have seen what Tama was talking too and would appear as if the beloved Abyss Devil had finally gone out of his mind. Speaking to the wind and arguing with the trees as if they could hear or respond. Truth however was in the fact that while many did not listen, the world was speaking loud and clear, both living,…and dead.

What word best described the moment?
For Keno, that word would be uncomfortable. Granted, there were a number of emotions, feelings, thoughts, and general attitudes radiating from the immediate area of the club, but the way they came together produced little harmony. A distraught mage, a frantic kitsune and his defensive aunt, a demon infamous for his emotional neutrality and another kitsune just as well known for her emotional instability. It was turning out to be quite the eventful party with or without the warped mind of the club's owner around, and all together they probably produced half of the problems these walls could talk about.
Why did everyone at this damned place have to have issues? Haunted pasts, vendettas, mercilessly shattered pride, identity crises, internal power struggles, external power struggles, and even unfavorable living conditions. Normal would clearly never apply to anyone who actually considered this place "home" or "familiar." Instead it was always one trial or another, coming in waves or cycles to slowly chip at their spirit as they race ever diligently to reinforce the weakening structures of their being. So much being neglected, so much being left unsaid. So much pain and so little healing. There was a burden in solitude, and they shared it together, and that made no real sense at all.
Then again, he was quite accustomed to the abnormality. At least these people could still talk with one another, despite their various ailments; some in greater quantities at larger volumes than others. Somehow they managed to deal with it all in turn, even if it was more often than not a quick fix to an ongoing problem; emotional duct tape was apparently endless in supply. He on the other hand had left them, and continued to leave, even though he technically didn't go anywhere. Rarely would he speak to them and even rarer would he grace them with his presence. How best to describe his situation...
Currently that wasn't important. What did matter was that there was someone in the area who had captured his attention. Someone dear to him and, like most people, taller. Also darker - about as bright as a moonless night - and considerably more battle worn. Whatever he was, for Keno had never learned what his race was called, he was a man that deserved a considerable amount of respect and earned a great deal of trust. Heavens forbid, but if it came down to it, there were fewer people Keno would trust watching his back. In fact, he probably could have been a great deal happier had he followed Tama, but he had chosen to nest, after a fashion, at the Orion.
"Haunted by ghosts are you?" he asked the lone devil. Despite not being physically present in the least, his voice carried out true and clear, but only enough to ensure Tama could properly hear. Likely there were a number of people who did not want him there and he really didn't want them to know he was watching, though they should. The only thing that might signal his presence beyond the clearing was a gentle breeze that just broke off as it neared the towering building, and that wasn't his doing at all.
"Since you're adequately alone, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask how you've been. It's been a while."
