His muttering to himself would stop as he head the woman approaching the bar. He kept his eyes trained on the kitsune as she made her way behind the bar to get something to drink. Stupid. He giggled to himself. Such a juvenile outlook. What was even more amusing to him, though, was the fact that she had said something out loud. Now she was trying to get a reaction out of him. However, as soon as she had been behind the bar, she was heading from behind it and towards a table, where she sat down. He was directly in her eye's range. She wasn't watching him, he knew that, but she was definitely keeping an eye out. Smart on her part, he had to admit. If she had by any chance seen him muttering to himself, it would only be normal for a regular onlooker to keep an eye on the person. It wasn't 'normal'. But he was a good actor. For now he would start with a few simple games. Soon enough, he knew things would get really fun.

But that was later on. He needed to focus on the here and now. The woman had pulled out a book and was reading through it. He didn't need to look at her in order to know. His eyes were looking through the glass he grasped in his right hand while it rested on the counter in front of him. Even though he had mistaken this woman for his ex-subbordinate, he still couldn't deny the simple fact that he was looking for a fight. He was bored something crazy. He snickered an eerie one. One of a sick amusement. His eyes grew wide and his world began to swirl around him, and he stared directly at the woman, whose shape was the only thing standing still in his world. He turned his head back to his glass and smiled wickedly to himself.

His toned skin faded, however briefly, to a pale-ish gray/blue tone, and quickly back to normal. He needed to get it under control. Just a little longer, he thought to himself. His smile faded. The club was once again shifting like a breaking cable connection for a second, he was suddenly leaned forward, arm straightened, hand flat against the table where the kitsune sat. He was to the side of her, but not quite in her bubble, but his eyes were on her book instead of the woman herself.
"You came to a public place to read? Why not stay home?" He never lifted his wide eyes from her book, which he seemed to be reading rather quickly.

She closed her book, already being aware of its contents for the most part, but did not turn to face him. Instead, she leaned back to look in the general direction of the door. Clearly, she was already caught in his little game, right? That's all men wanted: power over others and the satisfaction to know you had it.

"I'll answer your question if you answer mine. What minor detail was scribbled on the second line of the second page?"

He wasn't the only one capable of testing people. Chances were he wouldn't be able to recall it no matter how hard he tried. Trying so hard to show off already, she knew he had failed to pay attention to details. More often than not, very few did. Always boasting about something or another and yet they didn't bother make the most of their abilities. She was aware of her misgivings, but he would have to be made aware of his.

"Didn't quite make it that far I'm afraid." He said, turning his head to watch her. He wasn't able to answer her question, which would mean she wouldn't respond to his, unless she wasn't one for holding what she said. Either way, he didn't really want a response. It was more food for thought. Did she go out and read in public so she could let people watch her? And if that was the case, why would she want them to know she reads? Because it would make her seem intellectual? Deep? There could have been many reasons, but he didn't look too far into it.

But she had been expecting him not to be able to answer, which meant she didn't want to answer his question. And given how much of her own sense of pride he could see in simply the way she carried herself, the way she dressed for such cold weather, and even her would-be malicious attitude. She seemed to hold herself in high standards. The left side of his mouth curved into a smirk as he shifted his gaze to the book.
"But if you really want me to-"
Another fluxuation in time sent the world looking as though it were closing in on itself length wise, then width, before snapping back to normal. He held the book in between his right index finger and his thumb, his hand extended half an arm's length away from him, the book suspended in the air in front of his face.
"-I could find out." Again, he wasn't looking at her, but more paying attention to the book as he spoke. He didn't crack it quite yet, allowing some sort of response or protest. Which, even if she did, he wasn't sure if he'd listen to her. It all depended on what he would decide was more entertaining.

They always thought so hard. Always collecting data and analyzing it to the best of their abilities in order that they might gain the upper hand in something as non-confrontational as a conversation. He reminded her of Rome, though not quite as garrulous and much less honest to himself. Quite contrary to...whatever it happened to be that Rome was, this man kept his thoughts to himself, as though oral silence warranted some sort of privacy when it came to internal conflict. For all of his time assessing her and his relationship to her in the club, he, like so many, failed to see the bigger picture. No matter.

Apparently it was his opinion that she was here to leave a specific impression of herself on whoever just so happened to be present. It was a ridiculous assertion seeing as she simply asked him to recite the tiny bit of writing he had looked over when he peered over her shoulder. After all, it was not her claim that he was a fast reader. Now, in order to respond, he had to make a big show of trying to prove himself still capable of matching wits with her, though she already knew his own wits were about as sharp as pillows, while also trying to impress upon her the severity of the situation should she truly wish to confront him aggressively, which she was not in the mind to do anyway.

Be that as it was, she made no motion to protest his actions nor his very audacious notion to take that which was hers just to prove he could. Without looking at him, she simply heard him out and answered bluntly.

"Then open it and tell me."

A giggle rang in his mind. The woman was actually allowing him to go through her personal...Diary? Book? Truth be told, he didn't understand the language that the book was written in, which was why he was able to look through the book so quickly. It was all gibberish to him. He could only speak the Earth language, reading was a different story. He was not by any means illiterate, just never took the time to learn that part about the language. Still, he opened the book and flipped through the pages, looking intently at the contents, looking for anything that he could make out of the Earth written langage. It was useless, of course. He shut the book and tossed in on the table in front of her, a dull smack! breaking the silence.

"Not good with foreign languages," He said lazily, shifting his now narrowed gaze from the book to the fox lady. While it might have sounded like a bad excuse, it was the truth. It didn't matter. But this woman didn't seem to want to engage with him in the least. She obviously didn't like him, but he supposed that she wasn't the aggressive type unless she had to be, or unless pissed off. He found the latter more entertaining. For now.

Without so much of a gesture or glance away from the woman, the book that laid on the table in front of her burst into a dark blue dancing flame, engulfing the book as it's pages quickly charred and turned to ash, the covers pestering for a few moments to keep intact, but quickly shared the same fate. The flame shot from the ashes to the boy's nostrils and he slowly breathed it in, his eyes shooting red for that moment, but slowly going back to their original dark green. He blinked peacefully for a moment, then became reaware of his surroundings. His eyes narrowed again and a sick grin tried to come to his face, but all he allowed was a smirk, as he was looking dead on at the woman, not even having paid attention to the fire. She seemed to know the book inside and out if she could ask him in memory what minor detail was on that certain page. There was also the possibility that she had just before that point read what it was, but somehow he doubted it. But whether she knew the book or not, he had just destroyed something of hers. And would give no reason for it.

"A likely excuse."

Just as she had assumed, he was unable to actually read her book, although his reasoning was laughable. It was an unexpected cop out. Nevertheless, the outcome was the same, which meant he wasn't as in control of this situation as he originally intended to be. She all-in-all had no concern for this, but as it was, it opened the door for a very interesting conversation.

And then he decided to take it upon himself to burn the little book. Thinking way too much, this one was, and now she had more power than she started with. Was he just throwing himself at her feet or something? She watched as the tiny compilation of papers and scribble cracked like delicate little leaves, while the table miraculously seemed to be un-phased beneath it. The hottest part of a flame was supposed to be blue, but this was darker than normal. Arcane magic. Still showing off.

Similar to the spontaneous combustion, the notebook vanished, ashes, flame, and all. Only the table, chairs, kitsune, and her unwanted company remained. Her eyes maintained a disinterest gaze upon the club in general as she reached into her jacket pocket.

"Wrong notebook."

Pulling something from her jacket, she revealed a similar notebook, every detail intact, down to the last letter, and then replaced it. As she did so, a chair to her right slid out from beneath the table.

"Have a seat. You no longer possess the capacity to provoke me into combat, so how about I pique your interest with an observation. I promise you'll find it enlightening."

::The doors of the club open slowly and Unks walked inside. He made his way to the bar like he normally did, but with a greater haste than normal. He reached the bar and he kicked a stool out with his left leg and slumped onto the stool.

He glanced over at the mini fridge and it opened to his look. A bottle of water made it's way to him after he used it to close the fridge. He spun the top open and then took a long swig from it and then put the bottle down. He slumped forward onto the counter at bit::

"Damn it, why is it so dead around here? I need some excitement!"
