This man was a bit of an acrobat himself it seemed. He probably brought a bit more grace to this fight than Kenta himself offered, but no matter. What was important at the moment was avoiding undue injury, so the young kitsune did the one thing that made the most sense to him at that particular moment.
It was a counterattack this time. With a bit of luck, it would actually succeed and that meant it would hurt a bit. The young kitsune did not duck, but rather bent over forward, planting himself on his arms as he curled his feet in, a maneuver that would take his head out of range of the kick and the following grab that was meant to throw the boy's balance. What came next was easily foreshadowed as the young man shot his left leg out, keeping his right bent in, as his arms extended and pushed him off of the ground in a very clear and linear kick.
Being aimed directly at the face of his challenger, Kenta's foot, if left unchecked, would pass right between both hands and make a solid impact on the face of the creature that had attempted to kick him just a fraction of a second before. He was aware that being upside down and fully erect left several parts of his person open for attack, but his opponent was above him which also left a great deal of Kenta protected from immediate countermeasures. Of course that greatly depended on just how fast this guy could move in the end.

In an instant, Soneko found a foot heading directly for his face. He brought his two forearms together in the shape of an 'X' a few inches from his face and braced for the impact. The fox's shin smashed into his forearms, stopping his leg's movement. However, the tip of the boy's shoe made a very faint connection with the tip of Soneko's nose, and he couldn't help but laugh. That had been a little too close. He didn't mind getting socked in the face, but a broken nose is something Soneko was not willing to put up with. Using his forearms like a pair of scissors, the 'X' that his forearms had formed was now a straight line and Soneko's fingers were wrapped so tightly around the fox's ankle, that if his bones were as flimsy as a humans, his ankle would snap. While still holding onto the boy's ankle, he lifted his right foot and brought it head-on into the boy's knee with more than enough force to break a human bone. Whether or not the boy's bones were built with more durability than a humans, the impact wouldn't feel nice at all.
He kept a hold of the boy's ankle. As Soneko was right-side-up and the fox was quite the opposite, the only thing left was for gravity to come into effect and bring both of their bodies to the ground. His right foot still planted against the boy's knee, Soneko bent his left. His knee would undoubtedly hurt from the impact, but not nearly as bad as Kenta's head would feel. Once he felt his body stop dropping and felt the dull pain of stone against he kneecap, he pushed himself off of the young fox and took several steps back. This was going to be a fair fight, and like Kenta, Soneko would not kick a man while he was down in such a situation.

The kick had not been enough. It was highly unfortunate that Kenta had put himself into such a dangerous situation, but he was banking a bit more on the element of surprise that time than he should have. No one was to blame but himself and he knew it.
His ankle certainly felt the pressure building, but he was clearly not human. Even if he had inherited more of the human in him, he was better than the average homo sapien sapien by every physical measure accounted for. What struck him as odd was the sensation that surged through his knee. It appeared, for whatever reason, that Kenta's opponent was so quick to strike at it that he had forgotten to reposition himself. Although the kitsune was upside down, his back was facing the enemy, which meant that the otherwise brutal attack to his knee created very little effect aside from forcing the joint to bent inward. However, it was still uncomfortable and the bottom part of his leg tingled with numbness for a moment, but it still appeared a wasted effort.
At the moment, the primary issue was to avoid letting his head meet the ring with such force as was about to surge through his entire body. the young man found a solution quick and efficient. Keeping his knees bent, he created a second bend at the waist, flipping his body forward after a fashion which had the added bonus of relieving the grip on his ankle. Whether or not he was completely freed from this garb, his arms were more than long enough to come slamming down right on the top of the adversary's head. With any luck, he would let go and both would make a less than graceful landing. However, 'down' wasn't their only option.

“Hm.” Carl shook his head in his shaded little corner. These two kids were just wrestling, probably like they used to in their back yards when they were younger, nothing special. Melee combat was an art that the demon had been unable to participate in for decades; the opponents he faced barely felt pain from an energy attack strong enough to destroy a planet. A lost art to him, to slow and weak to a usable tactic, yet somehow he missed it.
“A shame I missed you, Fierce. Perhaps next time…” The progression of the fight had become tiresome to Carl, it was time he returned to his home. As he spoke, his body began to sink into the seat beneath him, his shadow swirling as it crossed over from one plane to the next. Then, fluidly as he had entered, he was gone, leaving only his lingering phrase as proof he had been there at all.

He felt another dull pain as two hands connected with the top of his skull with an admirable force. His body shot towards the ground, head first. His forehead connected with the stone, but after releasing his grip on the fox’s ankles, the palms of his hands kept the rest of his body from doing so. His head still resting against the ground, Soneko’s twisted fanged smile appeared for the first time in a long time. He pushed himself up to his feet and took several steps back, separating himself from his opponent by ten feet. He felt a tickle coming from his hairline slowly finding its way down the center of his face, down the bridge of his nose and to his lips. At first he had no idea what it was, but once he spotted the red trail on his nose, it was clear. He ran his thumb across the trail of blood all the way up to his hairline, where the wound was. He brought his thumb back down to his mouth and sucked the blood off of his finger, and a certain part of him savored the taste. That same part of him wanted more, but it didn’t want his own. He waited for the young fox to regain his footing as well. He dropped his hand back to his side and gave the boy a smirk.
“You drew the first blood. Congratulations.”
Although, Soneko couldn’t promise that the fox would enjoy the prize. He was directly in front of the boy in an instant, his right hand clenching the fabric of his shirt. He yanked the boy forward, smashing his unusually hard forehead against the boy’s. Still keeping his grip on the fox’s shirt, he pushed him back, only to yank him forward again. Only this time, he bent his leg completely, his calf steady under the back of his thigh, and thrusted his knee just below his opponent’s ribcage. He released his vice grip on the boy’s shirt only to fist his hand yet again and bring it upwards, aiming for the underside of the young man’s chin with more than enough force to lift him off his feet.

Luck appeared to be on his side as his ankle was released upon impact. Of course, he still landed in a less than disciplined manner. His right foot found its ground well enough, but he wasn't oriented enough in his left and fell to his knee to maintain balance. Quickly rising to his feet, he was no worse for wear from the entire ordeal, but apparently he had forced blood out of his opponent's skull. Oddly, the man took a bit of satisfaction out of the whole matter and was even smiling about it.
"Oh no," he answered humbly in response, "it's not an accomplishment to make another bleed during peace times."
No sooner than he finished speaking than the boy quickly had to return to combat mode. The man was fast, but Kenta could keep up well enough. Again, the boy braced himself in order to keep close proximity and allowed his shirt to be grasped. Upon the moment of impact for the first headbutt Kenta, rather than just waiting to be hit, the boy's own right fist shot out aggressively for the exposed stomach of his opponent. Left alone, it would be a double impact, with both men on the receiving end, but the force behind Kenta's punch was significantly stronger than it was before, with enough power to shatter a normal man's bones into dust.
If that wasn't enough to send the man staggering, Kenta kept his guard up for the next attack; the knee to the ribcage. This time, the young kitsune refused to take a hit straight on and decided to block instead, again by using his right hand palm open to catch the knee in mid-travel. All the while, his left hand balled into a fist and pelted mercilessly toward the right side of the man's pelvis with the same staggering force as his right punch.

Although his first blow had been successful, he felt the unmistakable sensation of a fist against his gut. After as many battles as he had been through, Soneko knew that keeping his abs tightened throughout a battle was vital. Without doing so, he would have had the air knocked out of him yet again. While he couldn't say the contact had felt good, it wasn't something he couldn't handle. Still, he couldn't help but notice that the boy's force behind his punches was gradually increasing. That was good. Spar or not, Soneko felt disrespected if his opponent pulled their punches. Sure, he had been doing the same thing, but before this point, he felt he should have taken it easy on the boy given his age. Unless his was mistaken, which he doubted, he had over two thousand years on this boy. Even so, he wouldn't discredit the kid. For somebody his age, the kid knew how to throw a punch.
'A fight's a fight.' Soneko thought to himself. 'Peaceful times or not, the object is to do some kind of harm.' The boy seemed to have the heart of a good guy. He didn't seem to want to do too much harm to Soneko. He'd have to change that.
But now he was throwing a punch a little too low for Soneko's taste. Soneko slapped the left jab away to the right with enough force, he hoped, to offset the fox's balance. Even if it didn't, he had no left arm to guard with. He balled his left hand into a solid fist, deciding the take the opportunity he had opened. And to up the game a little bit. The unmistakable sound of crackling electricity filled the air as Soneko's left fist traveled towards Kenta's exposed left side. If the boy wouldn't let his knee make contact with his ribcage, Soneko would just just replace his knee with a swinging fist that was now surrounded in several dancing strands of electricity. Not only that, but Soneko had put as much force as he could into this strike without throwing his entire body into it, as that, if Kenta somehow managed to get out of the way, would throw him off balance. If this hit connected, it would send a charge throughout the young fox's entire body, and with some luck, should numb his body to a degree, leaving his movements sloppy. At least for a little while.

Of course his opponent was correct. He recalled in his youth seeing his mother practically kill a woman to protect him, even though he was more than capable of fleeing. Later he asked his mother why she fought so viciously against someone so helpless and she answered with a joke.
"When men fight, they injure for sport. Their bruises are their trophies. However, when women fight, they injure to kill."
All creepy feelings aside when he caught the glare in her eyes, what she had said had basically stuck with him. Even his father would only beat him enough to display his flaws, but wouldn't go so far as to incapacitate him. Now, though, it appeared Kenta had a met someone whose philosophy was closer to his mother's. And this became crystal clear the moment his punch had been deflected.
Though he wasn't thrown off balance since both feet were firmly planted, he was still much too close for comfort for an electric fist coming straight for him. His first thought was to move, but he was too close to move away in time. Next, he thought he could easily catch the man's arm at the elbow and hold off the punch, but that wouldn't stop him from being grabbed on the arm instead and burned by who knows how many volts of energy. Finally, he thought of a counterattack, but again it was no good so he opted for the one thing his gut instinct instructed him on; the one thing he didn't have to think about as hard.
The boy's right palm, which had blocked the knee coming from his stomach, thrust for his rival's stomach in a gentle shove simultaneous to his Shockwave attack. The dome of energy would emit from the core of his being and slam into anything within proximity and explode on contact. The shove was intended for assigning a general direction for Kenta's acquaintance to fly in, but the Shockwave was the real attack, and it would certainly stun, though definitely not severely injure.
Although he was rather certain this attack would ward his adversary off, he kept himself at the ready and drew his body closer to his center as he prepared for a counter attack in case there was a way to get around the attack. One could never be too sure.

Just before the he was about to connect with the boy's side, he felt a quick dull pain which soon turned into a searing heat. Soneko was hurdled backwards, though he kept his eyes open and trained on his target. Soneko, while he may have put energy into the strike, had still been using the basis of all combat: hand-to-hand. But now the boy had moved it to the next level. Projectile and exploding energy. Soneko held off on the latter, but given his current situation, a projectile would be the only way to hit the boy, as he was at a distance. As if he had hit a wall behind him, Soneko's body stopped mid-flight and he planted his feet solidly on the ground. He bent his knees and slammed his left fist into the tile he was standing on, causing it to crack and crumble beneath the force and sending a tremor throughout the ring. If anybody was looking closely enough, they would see that the electricity had vanished from his hand.
In a sudden flash, four large pillars of electrical current shot from the four main directions surrounding the fox. They rose into the air for a moment, then bent and all headed directly for the fox. As soon as he saw that the strands were on course, he kicked himself forward and off of the ground, sending him at speeds he hadn't yet reached in this particular battle towards his opponent. He brought his fist back behind his head and threw it forward at the side of the boy's head. This time he would let put his entire body into the attack, under the assumption that the boy would be too focused on the pillars of dancing blue energy to see him coming. And although Soneko was in the vicinity of where the previous attack was aimed, he didn't seem to care.

This was not good. He had intended to keep everything melee, but far be it for him to not admit when a little something extra was needed. He might have taken that punch had he been resistant to electricity, but he was not. Either way, the consequence was that now he would have to watch out for energy attacks as well as physical assaults. A true warrior knew how to balance both, he knew, but ki always added a new level to any fight and since most people used their energies differently, he could never be sure his experience was enough.
First things first, he had to deal with the lightning coming straight for him. Simple enough all things considered, but he noted immediately that his enemy was getting faster just as Kenta himself was getting stronger. The way it seemed, both warriors were displaying their strengths. What happened therefore, was a two step process. In order to minimize his opponent's change of course, Kenta jumped straight back from three of the four electric attacks, but veered to his right to narrowly escape the fourth. Just as his opponent came with upon him with a full force right punch to his head, he moved out of the way.
His head did not go right though, it went left, into the path of the punch. However, his head moved swiftly to avoid the attack and put his body on the outside of his challenger, which rendered most of his body defenseless. Bringing his right arm up near his face, his palm caught and matched the offending wrist while his left planted itself on the elbow. The young kitsune then twisted his body clockwise and lowered his center of gravity, which would result in his opponent being diverted.
Because his spar buddy put his full force into the attack, he would have virtually no choice in following the new path of his extended arm, which basically meant down and out. Although he could let go and escape harmlessly at this point, he kept his grip strong, meaning that his opponent could not harm him, and worse still, if he tried, he might leave with a broken joint.
He was aware of the danger of being in this situation, but at least if his opponent wasn't moving, he might be a bit less dangerous when it came to roleplaying Zeus.
