Balerion snapped his jaw shut and opened his wings, letting the wind fill them and slow his advance. Pressing one close to his side he forced himself to turn about and face Vraelios. He would be too far to aid him immediately, but the dragon did not believe he needed to. The very instant that Kumori disappeared from Balerion's view Vraelios was ready. The elf, still in his centaur form, was very fast. So when Kumori appeared in front of him and struck out he was ready to strike. The elf's arm shot forth and energy surged through his arm, channeling through his spear. The first attack would meet Kumori's hand head on. Their effects were nulled, but the first hit had been made. The next two spear hits were moved ever so slightly to move past Kumori's punch and directly at his chest in an attempt to pierce him. With his ability taking away his phase Kumori could not shift again. Meanwhile Balerion flew through the air and curled in his head, intending to slam his body into Kumori, which would smash the foe into the earthen wall. Vraelios would immediately leap free of the wall, knowing the shock would be too great for him to stand.

                                      Passives

                                          • Kelios' Guidance
Only through the teachings of Kelios can becoming a Centaur be achieved. Once it is initially learned the elf can freely move between either of its forms. While in their normal form they retain all animal-senses, though their speed is not increased. When in full centaur form they gain a +2 to their speed.

                                          • Nature's Guardian
Centaurs are very attune to nature, and because of this they have a connection of sorts. They can freely communicate with animals and even wild ones will listen to them. As long as the creature is natural the Centaurs have the ability to temporarily tame them and request their aid in battle. They can also 'listen' to nature and receive information from it as well.

                                          • Order of Kelios
Centaurs have a powerful aura around them that affects other creatures aligned with them. Any sort of natural animal that fights with them has their power increased by 1 rank.

                                          • Primal Instinct
Just as any other animal, Centaurs have special sensory abilities. Their hearing, smelling, and sight are increased. Because of the increased sensory power they tend to make great Rangers and warriors. Similar to animals, they can also get a sense of when something wicked this way comes. They'll be wary of those who seek to harm them or what they protect though the exact reason why will not be known.

                                          • Telepathy
As the name implies, it is a simple form of telepathy between you and your dragon. Thoughts, images, emotions, sounds...pretty much anything can be felt in this link, and it is a constant link. If the dragon is hurt, the dragoon can sense it, and vice versa. This however, also prevents the two from lying to each other, as they can see what the other is truly thinking.

                                          • Soft Landing
A passive all dragoons must learn, as without learning this skill, when they performed their super high jumps they would simply splatter against the ground. Once this technique is learned the dragoon can survive falls from incredible distances, and come out unharmed.

                                          • Masterful Dragon Riding
The dragoon must spend a considerable amount of time riding on their dragon, and must know how to ride on them from every single part of the dragon without falling off. This takes a considerable amount of time to do, but once accomplished the dragoon will be able to accomplish incredible feats, such as holding onto a single dragon spine with one hand while your dragon is in an upside down position mid flight, whilst still being able to use your weapon proficiently.

                                      Technique

                                          • Xiezi C
Three quick successive stabs. The movements are so fast that if the first connects, the next two attacks will also connect.

Kumori
The Shadow Magistrate
╔══════════════╗

"I don't think so!" Kumori shouted as he had no time to dodge, so he could only alter where the attacks hit, moving his body and decided to tank the hits with his right arm, one of them piercing through his elbow. The moment his right arm became unusable from the elbow down, his body went into a temporary shock as Balerion came charging at him. Before impact, Kumori brought his left arm out, his hair covering his right eye as he caught the attack as the earthen wall behind him had broken, but the small panel of earth underneath him did not gave way. They were at the same strength, and with what had happened, Kumori's power had drastically changed. "Jin-Zoken...." Were the words coming out as a whisper before looking into the air, getting very few spots to locate. He soon vanished from where he was in the hole, appearing 10 feet above the head of Balerion as he had Miza in his left hand. The sword had a dark glow before Kumori brought it back before attempting to stab the sword down, a spiritual re-creation appearing, extending from the greatsword heading for the spine part of Balerion's neck.

Techniques Used:
• A World of Shadows SS-Rank (2/5)
The Shade is now capable of covering even the brightest area in a dense cloud of shadows, allowing him to use all other techniques in this bloodline for half the cost for a duration of 5 posts and to get the boost for being in darkness. This enables the Shadow Walk to be used where ever the user wants, however in the cloud of shadows, it makes a clicking sound. This alarms others of where they are. This can't be blown away by simple winds, but the use of Soul Judgement or Gift of God seems to dispel this skill.

• Shadow Walk D-Rank
The shade can travel through the essence of shadow, pulling him through an entirely different dimension to instantaneously arrive at its destination. While in a shadowy area, the shade may teleport, with nothing more than a thought, to another shadowy area it sees within 120 ft of its current location. The Shade must have line of sight to the destination to use this ability. In battle, the shade is limited to 3 uses of this skill. There is no limit outside of battle, and is their main method of transportation. A shade can choose to pull another through with them, but doing so increases the cost by 1.5 times. The Shadowy area must be big enough to encompass the entirety of the Shade and cannot be caused by your cape.

• Jin-Zoken A
Energy Required
The user brings their energy into their greatsword, letting the energy build up before it creates a spiritual recreation of the greatsword. The recreation however, is 20 feet long and deals unholy damage as it holds the cutting power of the greatsword itself. Should the enemy be hit within the 6 feet length of the Greatsword, will be cleaved through their body and through their armor with ease.

Passives Skills:
• Utilize Broken Strength Passive
This is automatically activated upon the user achieving a broken arm. The energy and muscle stimulating shocks sent to the broken arm are transfered from the arm to the rest of the user, most of it going to the other arm. This allows the broken limb to be numbed to pain but can be restored at an easier pace. This helps the broken being to weild heavy weaponry with only a single arm like a weapons master, except they do not have access to any of the Weapon Master's skills.

• Shadow Form
Most, if not all, physical attacks simply phase through the user. This can be a good and a bad thing. If all the opponent has all weapon and hand to hand styles, then the techniques that do not have energy coated on the weapons will simply go right through the user, making all other attacks useless. This is also bad because if the Shade attempts to attack, once can aim a physical attack at him, forcing him to turn himself into his shadowy form. By disrupting him, all of the skills he used are turned into smoke. The user may also chose to go into his incorporeal form once every three posts, at which point he can't attack.

• Shadow Regeneration
The Shades are known to be living and breathing elementals of darkness. Because of that, they are capable of recovering at a slow rate while residing in dark areas or in an ally's shadow. The body is constantly healing for as long as they are within darkness and having their weapons put away. The rate of healing increases with the duration they remain in the darkness. During the regeneration process, the user cannot use offensive Bloodline or Elemental skills. If they are attacked, they have to restart recovery at the slowest rate.
1 post: Small cuts & bruises are healed.
2 Posts: Gashes are turned into small cuts.
3 Posts: Broken limbs can recover within three constant posts inside of darkness.
4 Posts: Internal injuries or burns from light/flame/holy techniques can be recovered.
5 posts: An entire missing body part can be restored at a slow, and painful rate(Excluding the head or torso and it takes 5 full posts waiting in darkness to recover.).

• Shadowy Trail
A Shade does not cast a shadow, but can choose to merge with the shadow of an ally, similar to a ninja. In doing so, the Shade can act as a hidden bodyguard, emerging from the allies shadow at will. The Shade can't be detected other than by holy creatures such as Nephilims, or Paladins and Clerics.

--Shadow MQC--
Rank: D(Passive)
You can now bend the shadows around you to reach your opponent that would be two spears away from you as you can attack them normally while retaining regular damage. The Shade can perform D-ranked damage when at their full strength while in this fighting style, but this is the only range modifyer this style has. This does not spread to other styles, nor weapons can benefit from learning this ability as this is to be the shade's main Fighting style.

Deathly Aura
Rank: Passive
Requires: Rank Equivalent
Description:

A more advanced form of the Aura of Despair technique that is learned by all Shadowknights. They slowly transform their despair around them into a more putrid feeling of hatred and sadness. Skeletons the Shadowknight summons near them are well armed for fight, being more useful and more resilient the entire time they remain in the field.
The stronger the user gets, the greater their aura becomes, soon overtaking the enemies with the duration the foes are in. Characters of lesser rank than the Shadowknight suffer various effects – when one rank below, they feel ill and off balance. Two ranks below, they feel like they are standing on the edge of a massive pillar and all around them is darkness and must fight the urge to run away in terror. Three or more ranks below and the character is rendered near comatose from despair.
Limitations: Holy classes (Paladin and Cleric) can counter this Deathly Aura by using Holy Techniques. If they don’t, they feel it intensely (+1rank differential).
Succubi, Dreadnoughts, and Vampires are unaffected by Deathly Aura, and occasionally take amusement from the reactions of other species to it.
The Shadowknight CAN suppress their Deathly Aura– they do this to hide what they are if they are trying to be discreet.
This advanced aura grants the user to release their full form, allowing access to a variety of Deathscythe abilities at their strongest power.

• Vibration Sensory C
Must be at least Novice level
A useful skill, the user channels energy into their feet to sense vibrations on the ground. As long as their feet is on the ground, a user can sense where an enemy is if they are earth bound within 50ft for five posts. This skill becomes passive once the user is Adept Rank.

• Miza's backshield [ C ] : So long as Kumori keeps Miza sheathed on his back, he is able to resist more damage to his back. But the downside is that she can only resist up to D-rank attacks, C ranks causes a rank down in damage and B and higher cause full damage.

• Trusted Wielder [ Passive ] This Skill requires you to beat the Spirit inside of the Sword. Miza the Terror can only acknowledge those who can defeat her in combat besides Kumori Hell. Those who can hold her after the defeat of the Sword's spirit, can become one with the sword, gaining the knowledge to use her full potential of the Weapon Style: Miza the Terror. Be wary of the weapon style itself as it can kill the user if they misuse the Style's own techniques, the spirit would even warn them to be careful.

• Miza The Terror Weapon Style [ Rank N/A ] Miza has her own Weapon Style.

• Phantom Plane Origins [ Rank B ] The user's clothing emits a powerful substance of destruction, known as a Black Shuck Virus. The virus comes out to a maximum of 5 feet in battle, but only 2 feet out of fighting. Staying within the reach of the virus, the foe's own shadow vanishes if they are in the virus's range for 4 posts. Kumori's own shadow skill techniques will gain an increase of one rank for the shadows absorbed into his body(maximum shadows needed: 2) and can only last for 5 posts. As well as performing this, the user no longer suffers energy penalties caused from his class.

Demonic Prowess
The blood of the innocent courses through Kumori's non-existant veins, powering his body through death itself. As such, his max energy pool has been increased by 700 while every single one of Kumori's Earth Elemental attacks are now boosted with a natural life draining energy. Any earth that Kumori has influenced with his energy, becomes inhabitable by plantations, but unaffects other mortal creatures. Kumori's weapons and armor can effect skill barriers, normal/skill shields, and Armor.

Vraelios felt his heart clench when Kumori appeared above his greatest friend in the world. Through the elven eyes Balerion could seehe was to be attacked in a blind spot. The dragon dipped his head down and brought himself closer to the earth that was still shooting upward, twisting, and writhing with enough force to crush. Energy surrounded the dragon and drew from the earth, surrounding himself in an earthen barrier. It would be strong enough to halt the attack and therefore allow the dragon to twist away. By bringing his wings close to his body he dipped even further and then spiraled away, reopening his wings and shoving himself even higher into the air. While Kumori was falling, before Balerion pulled the earth towards himself, Vraelios clutched his spear and channeled his energy, thrusting it forward at Kumori. His free hand would reach for his back and remove the dragon-bone shield he kept on him, readying for defense. Meanwhile Balerion circled around again, moving into position to catch his rider should he need.

                                          • Beastiel Leap D
This skill is the most basic and most used of the dragoon class. with it, the dragoon can close the distance between him and his target with rediculous ease and speed. for E ranked energy, they can leap a maximum of twenty feet, and that's from a standing position. At D rank, they can leap fifty feet. And at C rank, they can easily jump from mountain top to mountain top, as described in the class description.

                                          • Spear of The mighty C
The user will focus energy into the entire composition of their spear. After this is accomplished, they stab the spear forward in an attempt to impale the enemy. This technique is useful because of the fact that even if the enemy manages to jump backwards and dodge the spear tip, the spear grows rapidly to twice it's original length, impaling the enemy before reverting to it's original size. During this time, the spear will glow brightly, though not brightly enough to blind anybody.

                                          • Earthen Bulwark A
Balerion can surround himself and whoever he chooses in stone, forcing the earth to break up and cover them completely. Through his energy the stone becomes incredibly hard and is capable of defending them from an attack its rank or lower.

Kumori
The Shadow Magistrate
╔══════════════╗

The attack was nullified by the Earthen Bulwark, but Kumori had an idea for that, but that was until mister horseman, decided to jump up and attempt to stab at him with his spear. He grinned as he brought Miza up and perfectly guarded the attack from Vraelios. The impact and forward moving motion was enough to bring Kumori backwards. But as Kumori began to fall, he sheathed Miza and turned towards as he landed on the ground, but on the moment of impact, Kumori landed with ease as he looked to see Balerion had escaped from his own imprisonment. Not wanting to waste any more chances, Kumori dashed towards Balerion as he grinned at the being, having a short amount of time before he would have to make a break for it. The demons that have died here have decided to leave their corpses to rot, so all was not for nothing for the man known as Kumori, seeing as how the portal was blocked.

Vraelios watched with a primal surge of enjoyment when Kumori was met with the strong force of earth itself. Balerion trumpeted with his own roar of a victorious strike. Had Kumori chose to land a few moments later he would have been safe. After momentarily ravaging the shade the earth settled, though still provided a broken and jagged landscape within the cataclysm. The centaur changed forms mid air and morphed in his elven form, just in time to land upon Balerion's back. Together they flew to the ground and alit upon the ground. Vraelios climbed up to the dragon's head, using his root-like antlers as footholds. "Do not press us farther! This is your only chance at escape, flee now or face the might of Kranila!" Vraelios shouted, knowing full well that the city's reinforcements were on their way to aid him. He was ready to continue the battle and Balerion was already way ahead of him. The dragon was seeping energy into the earth and straining with all his might. Soon enough this cataclym would turn into literal hell upon earth.

                                      Technique

                                          • The End S
This ability is generally used in conjunction with Cataclysm. Balerion will put a massive amount of energy into the earth and begin to pull up magma from deep within. It takes three posts for magma to reach the surface and when it does it erupts skyward into deadly gysers. It will flood the lands and is strong enough to fill the entirety of a Catacylsm. This can only be used once per battle. At the end of this move, the lava will quickly harden into stone, creating a new small mountain or large hill.

Kumori
The Shadow Magistrate
╔══════════════╗

"Very well....." Kumori simply stated as he was severly injured, but managed to sit himself up as he had a highly durable body. "But give your king this warning..... his plantations will not help him forever with me." Kumori had his hands on the ground and played his final trick. Near the Highwind, the ground began to shake before the bark on the side of the tree the lake was on began to peel and die off. Before either of them could attempt at Kumori's life, he twitched a finger and released several Earth Columns up to try and hit Balerion's abdomen and distract him while a cold portal appeared above him. A few ice hands reached out to drag Kumori out of there so he could fight another day.

((Escapes, Vraelios gains a rank up.))

Techniques Used:
• A World of Shadows SS-Rank (4/5)
The Shade is now capable of covering even the brightest area in a dense cloud of shadows, allowing him to use all other techniques in this bloodline for half the cost for a duration of 5 posts and to get the boost for being in darkness. This enables the Shadow Walk to be used where ever the user wants, however in the cloud of shadows, it makes a clicking sound. This alarms others of where they are. This can't be blown away by simple winds, but the use of Soul Judgement or Gift of God seems to dispel this skill.

• Earth & Stone Levitation Sx2 at the Tree
The most common attack, involves levitating nearby earth and stone of numerous sizes and propelling them at foes by punching or kicking motions.

E= Up to melon sized
D= 5 foot cube
C= dining table
B= Car sized
A= Bus Sized
S= 3 story house.

• Earth Column C x3
Requires Earth & Stone Levitation
A more powerful version of rock projectiles, involving forcing columns of rock out of the ground . This is limited to a range of fifteen meters and the size of the column is only a meter by meter block. It is also limited to going up though it may be diagonal.

Vraelios could hear the damage being done before even seeing it. With rage in his eyes the elf gathered the spear in hand, taking two strides before tossing it forth with all his might. Balerion roared in anger and charged forth, wanting to crush the shade between his teeth. Before the dragon could reach him great columns of earth shot up from the ground and crashed into his great body. Massive paws crushed the earth and in his pain the Sentinel spun around and lashed out with his tails, smashing the columns into nothingness. Vraelios' spear sailed through the air just where Kumori had been until those hands removed him from the area. A pang of pain and worry had shot through the centaur when his friend had been hurt and the weapon was forgotten. He sprinted to Balerion and calmed him with kind thoughts, bringing the dragon down from his momentary rage-driven rampage. He stood with one hand lightly touching where one of the columns had hit Balerion; on his underside where the scales were softer and weaker. Vraelios pushed lightly, receiving a keening cry from Balerion. The elf sighed and turned away. He would be okay, though it would be taxing for him to fly. The dragoon retrieved his spear and picked his way up to his perch upon the dragon. They needed to leave this area before it was flooded with lava.

Vraelios clutched a spike in front of him as Balerion labored to take off. He huffed and groaned throughout the process but made it into the air. The dragon circled the pit thrice before the first cracks in the earth sounded and the two of them watched the lava fill and fill until it reached the top. A ripple of energy spread across the surface and almost instantly it hardened. There would be no further damage to the landscape. Though he was tired and taxed, Vraelios could not leave the tree the way it was. He sat in front of it and touched his palms to the bark, closing his eyes and feeling Kelios guide his strength. He poured every ounce of power he could spare into it. The Highwind tree glowed green and the damage the demons and Kumori had wrought began to repair itself. Roots reformed and connected, bark smoothed until it was no longer clear it had ever been attacked. He stopped before it became too much of a draw and sat down against the ground, Balerion landing with a thud just behind him. They would need to speak with the king as soon as possible, but first a quick rest.

It almost seemed to Vraelios that the war was so far away. The lake had been, for the most part, restored. He and other elves like him spend hours upon hours trying to bring the trees back to life. That wretched creature Kumori had done a lot of damage. Looking to the north where the forces of Nocturne had marched from it appeared as if the land was scarred. Where the demons raped the forest there were cursed trees. Completely black of bark and not a sign of life within them. No matter what they did nothing changed. So instead the centaur had decided to encase the cursed trees within new life. They would be covered and integrated with the hope that one day they would no longer plague the land. *Staring at it will no more change it than wishing them to restoration.* Balerion's great voice resounded through Vraelios. It filled him with a warmth and comfort that no other could possibly do. The elf sighed from his perch atop the dragon's head, nestled comfortably between the antler-like horns that crowned him. The beast had submerged much of its body into the water. His green scales glittered and shimmered beneath the surface and cast brilliant rays of light. With a sigh Vrael lifted himself to his feet and resumed his work. With a perfect dive he entered the water, cutting through it like a knife until he was near Balerion's side. There he began to scrub away at the scales until they seemed to glow.

Thoughts, images, emotions, sounds...pretty much anything can be felt in this link, and it is a constant link. If the dragon is hurt, the dragoon can sense it, and vice versa. This however, also prevents the two from lying to each other, as they can see what the other is truly thinking.

One day you will grow tired of war, my mother, Dominus told her as he glided slowly through the air. Maria was tending to her wounds atop the dragon's back. She had suffered an injury, a gash in her right arm from a stray arrow with poison on it. She had been treated for the poison, but it had... unsavory effects on her. She wasn't able to heal it, not with her own innate abilities. She was, however, still going to wrap it in soft, white bandages. The white was stained red initially, but more layers absorbed the blood well enough. She wiped sweat from her head, realizing she would need to wear some armor from then on if she intended to keep herself safe from demonic dangers such as that one. "No, not anytime soon. I'm the warmonger, remember! The "Queen of Beasts" as I am called." Maria stood up, not shaken by the beast's momentum as she stripped herself and examined her somewhat dirty body. "I think after that last raid... I need a bath. And I deserve a break." she said stretching a bit, allowing her long red hair to flow down her back. I suppose so. I think we should keep going until we drop. Maria smiled down at her baby as he slowed down just a bit more. Maria leaped and allowed him to fly under her body, still wearing no clothes actually as she began to descend. She fell into the canopy at terminal velocity, the familiar feeling of being a dragoon in her natural habitat taking over. She loved the sensation of being able to leap over mountains, and land without injury. She entered a dive, breaking teh tree line and seeing far enough ahead to plan her route. She would somersault once, opening her body to slow herself a bit as she angled her fall, bouncing from a tree and spinning around a branch she passed to turn her downward momentum into forward momentum. She was like a bullet as she basically flew through her forest. She skidded to a stop, ironically in a spot where the light shined down to the ground in the canopy. Her head turned to the sky as she sun bathed, a bit of a feral edge to her body now to any who had seen her before.

No longer was she just a mer. Now her skin was of a slightly darker tone, her ears a bit more pointed. She was a bit more curvy than she was before as well, the spirit she absorbed having changed her body and mind alike. She was as much elf as mer now, a love of the ocean matched by a fury that imitates it's wrath combined with a heart that beats for the forest. At some times she was drawn to the thrill of exploring the depths of the sea. At other times she was attracted like a moth to flame to explore her land domain. Hell, it may be of no relation to her genetics but she even was labored when barred from the skies. She was a hawk, shark and lion wrapped in one package, and only one place could appease her currently. So she opened her eyes, seeing a great bear bringing her cubs towards a lake to drink. They walked past her as if she were of no consequnece, and responded kindly when she reached out to touch them. The fierce mother treated Maria as a friend, growling in a friendly manner as Maria coddled the family of three. Within seconds, she was riding upon it's back towards her destination. In the air, a jealous Dominus would let out a loud, dominating roar to let any who would do the forest harm know of his presence. With that, he would land, safely, somewhere familiar to himself, somewhere peaceful probably, but close enough just in case.

The queen of beasts would climb down from the bear and kiss it's forehead. "Thank you for the ride." she would offer rubbing it's head. Maria would look out, to Lake Clearwind, sensing another's presence but able to feel a lack of evil in them. She would shush the bear, and be very quiet and almost comically sneaky. Whatever was there, she was intruiged. She would move close to the shore and, in a bid to cure her curiosity, allow her body to morph into mermaid mode, complete with a scale bra that look like seashells. She moved like a shark, cutting a path down past Vraelios. She would look at him, from below she would be obscured, looking up at him and his dragon with a child like interest. Much like the old tales, however, the mermaid would not speak. She would simply look at him, craning her head to the side as she gathered that he had to be a warrior, and probably a dragoon too. She would smile, a somewhat innocent and inviting look. She giggled a bit, audible even through the water, and then dart to the bottom of the lake. She would spring up, for a split second hovering eye to eye with the dragon with an "ah" look in her eyes as she grew her legs, scaled to look like leggings, even though she was technically still naked. The Beast Queen flipped and landed on one of his antlers. "Wooooow! Are these your horns?" she would ask in awe. She had seen so few other dragons aside from the common ones that this reaction was one she gave any special specimen she came across. The Queen was anthosii, and beyond that a mer at heart. She was so happy and optimistic outside diplomatic and threatening situations that she was often seen as ditzy back home. And this attitude won her so many hearts among the incubus and mer in Luhkan's Landing... we'll say it's a wonder she never became the town hoe.

Seashell Bond Dominus the Unbound

Passives

      • Seashores
The Mer are hyper-aware of everything around them, their five senses deeply active. They feel the light touching their shoulder, the running about of the small creatures, everything. They're very perceptive, moreso than most races. Furthermore, when listening through a conch (many Mer carry one everywhere), they can hear things for hundreds of meters around them.

      • Seashells
The Mer are capable of speaking to all sea creatures, although they have the closest connection to the small ones. Tiny little creatures like crabs, shrimp and the littlest of fish, they often reach out to the Mer to protect them from the predators of the sea. A young Mer will often form a powerful bond with one of these creatures, and this enables them to quite literally share their longevity with this creature. The lifespan of the small creature they bond with will increase, making them as long-lived as their Mer companion, although they will also die if their Mer dies (though the Mer will not die if the companion dies). This life-long companion counts as a pet rather than a summon, but at high ranks, it can become extremely deadly.

The creature grows with you in ranks, and will also rapidly grow in size, into something that is simply unusual for its species. It should be noted that this creature will evolve into being capable of breathing/walking on land. Some animals are obvious; a lobster, a crab, etc. Less obvious ones such as regular fish will evolve in highly strange ways, some of them even turning out to look nearly parallel to a Mer. These creatures can have their own movesets. Furthermore, they can eventually, if desired, take up the summon slot and the seashell slot -- which would enable them to grow in power immensely.

The call of the wild. It had Balerion lifting his head from the water and turning towards its direction. The horn-blast of his brethren sent a shock of excitement through him. Great waves formed in the lake as the dragon lifted his wings and beat them once beneath the water. Vraelios had to cling to his scales to not be washed away. It was hard not to be filled with the same yearning for whatever had made such a trumpeting. Despite his companion being a literal gigantic killing machine he was still a beast. There were times that Vrael had seen his friend mewling at fish swimming too low for him to easily grasp, snorting circlets of smoke for entertainment, and even sun bathing much like a feline. It had been so long since the two came across another of his kind. At least one that was not a true terror. Meraxes the Eternal had wrought destruction in the countrysides of Kranila to the point that Kusana's military force had been practically begged to put a stop to her. No one wanted to volunteer to take down a fully fledged dragon, one who had lived for years upon years. Meraxes was unique in a way, her magic rivaled that of a mage. Time was nothing before her and it made her a force to be reckoned with. Balerion and Vraelios took responsibility for felling her out of love for the land and a want to put a stop to her rampages. Initially they had intended to try and reason with the beast, but she had long since forgotten the tongues of man and beast alike, living only for herself and her desires. The fight had been a close one, Vraelios had seen the edge of his life too many times to count. In the end, Balerion was able to trap his kin beneath the mountain he had created and crush her underneath it. With a slight frown Vrael looked skyward, sincerely hoping there would be no fighting on this day.

He had spent the last few weeks away from his family and his home to protect the people of his nation. It was not a call he intended to ignore but it did tax him. Physically he was tired. In his last battle he had gotten sloppy and took the brunt of a warhammer smashing into his hind when in his centaur form. The bruise that covered his thigh and rib cage was very visible and it did still ache. Even Bal had suffered as well. He had dislodged a tooth whilst ripping through a draconian's body and a dreadnought had managed to loose scales upon his side and thrust three feet of a steel sword inside of him. That was what Vraelios had been tending to now. For the most part the dragon was healing but the two were in no condition for a fight. It almost came as a comfort for the elf when he did not hear the thunderous beating of wings flying overhead, and he resumed his care until Balerion felt the approach of something small. Something splashed in the water and the dragon traced its movements with his great head, curious at what the creature wanted. Vrael twisted and turned to catch sight of the elusive fish-lady, though only caught a quick glance of eyes darting away and towards Bal. When the woman shot up from the water and began to morph Vrael was already in motion, moving swiftly over the dragon in case it meant harm.

It was a bit surprising to see a Mer so far from the sea. Had it not been the scales it would have been the lilt of the elvish language that came from being Anthosii. It was even more surprising to see the childlike interest in Balerion. It was true he was no normal dragon. With great scales as green as the trees and grass he tended to stick out from his normally red, black, white, and brown kind. Not only that but his spikes and horns were abnormal. Vraelios had always believed this was his master Kelios' way of marking the two. He had received a physical change just as the dragon did. In place of spikes it appeared as if great shards of a petrified redwood tree jutted out from his skin. If one were to touch them they were very sharp, and very strong. All along his skin roots twisted and turned from the same kind of material, just as strong as his scales. Atop his head was a wild growth of antlers, pointed, jagged, and again as strong as any other horn. His underbelly appeared to be made of cut stones. What Maria could not see was also how the dragon had an affinity for the earth. Even his fire was different. *First one-leg then two-legs. My horns are not what is of interest.* Balerion had extended his mental connection to Maria so he could speak with her. He answered in elvish, as that was the first language Vraelios had taught him to speak. While he could not outright see Maria from her perch on his head it was through the eyes of his rider that they both took in her appearance. She was much shorter than Vraelios though still tall for a human or Mer. Her body tone suggested battle-hardened years. In truth the two were very similar. Long, lithe limbs with enough muscle to harm. Perhaps it was due to their choice in how they both fought as dragoons though Vraelios would not know. Maria was a beautiful young girl, with soft skin, hair the color of flames and eyes full of life. Vrael had around sixty years on the girl though it did not show much. Compared to most elves he was still fairly young. He was bare of chest, sporting claw marks that marred him from his left shoulder towards the middle of his torso. On the opposite side he had tattoos that mimicked the scars. Those had been from Meraxes and he kept them as a reminder. His beard was long, though currently kept neat through ties that bound it. His thick mane of black hair was not in its regular braid. Instead it cascaded down his back in dark ripples. His face was handsome in a sense, more rough and almost beast like than the others of his kind. Another scar passed from his brow to his cheek over his right eye, another testament to his battles. Currently he had on small clothes, the rest of his gear was piled on the shore to dry after he cleaned them. As Vraelios gazed at the girl a sense of familiarity filled his bones. He had never seen her before but something felt as if they had known each other, in another life perhaps. "I am Vraelios Orrian, he is Balerion. Who, what, are you?" He had spoken in elvish, his deep voice giving the beautiful language a certain character to it. It spoke of time spent among beasts, away from civilization.

Elven was a language she was far from fluent in for certain, but her time among Solonor and Justor in the Garden in the Sky, along with the gift she suddenly recieved from one of Kelios's fallen had gifted her with a slightly more than fundamental grasp on the knowledge. She would, both in her mind and out loud, chuckle a bit as she fell to hang from the beast's antler-branch-horns. *My two legs are fairly boring, and my one only has a select few uses. Antlers of this kind are... um... unique.* she would respond as she hoisted herself back up and looked down his back. Even his spikes were of a kind the likes of which Maria had never laid eyes on. He was akin to a walking forest, or a range of tree like mountains. He may have been smaller than Dominus but he was so damn cool in Maria's eyes. Through her mind, Dominus looked to see what had piqued her interest and saw the beast as well. How cute. he would say, speaking in Anthosii. Maria smirked as she walked along the antlers to rub the antlers, getting a feel beyond what her bare feet could tell her. She was intentionally messing with dominus, who even from his distance away could be heard moaning out loud at her. She laughed and turned in his direction, which also put her facing Vraelios. "Pay no mind, my child! You are my first and truest love." she would say in Anthosii out loud, garnering another annoyed groan from the forest where he was being accosted by cute little woodland creatures, predator and pray alike, who would see what had entered their delicate ecosystem.

She meandered over towards Vraelios then, as he spoke to her and walked around him in a small, quick circle, examining his scars, admiring his beard and long, locks of hair that reminded her of a horse. She was starkly reminded that she was naked when she saw his undergarments, but as an Anthosii girl her embarrassment was more on his part than hers. At his question, an extemporaneous response would be given to him, in the common tongue she was better with. "Well, if allowed to introduce myself I am Maria Kal. Allow my stewardess to speak and you will hear more titles than I myself remember. But... I suppose the most important one would be 'Queen of Beasts.'" she said, giving her favorite title, but leaving out that she was actually queen of a whole lot more. If he didn't know, better that he didn't for now. If he put two and two together... whatever. As for the what, she simply walked backwards off of the dragon's head and reverse swan dive into the water again. "I could be a mermaid..." she would say rising with her fin back on a torrent of water. It would form a ball around her and shine brightly as she changed again, this time the form of a woman on a horse's body, and smile brightly "... or perhaps I could be a mighty centaur!" The tower of water would freeze before her as her form seemed to shift and change, back into what it had been before. "What I am, as Balerion said, is of no consequence." she giggled sitting down on the tower, legs crossed. "Tell me Vraelios, how does someone come into the company of such a magnificent dragon. It is apparent from your accent that you are no ordinary elf. I haven't heard many that sound so... beastial." As she asked her question a hawk would fall from the sky, landing softly upon her shoulder, his talons not breaking through her Mer scales but still a bit sharp. She looked to it, as if a mother looking at a child, and it stopped picking at it's wings to stare back. She would turn back to Vraelios as if an understanding had been met, and the hawk of brown feathers would return to the business of grooming itself.

Vraelios smiled softly at the keening of the girl's own dragon. He subconsciously patted Balerion's neck in an affectionate sort of way. It seemed that the beasts stayed true to their nature, no matter how old or big they would get. The elf peered towards the sounds to try and catch a glimpse of her beast but the trees shrouded his vision. It was clear then to him that they were both dragoons. No other sort of warrior could tame a dragon and become one with it so easily. And for that, the girl had a modicum of respect from Vraelios. Balerion on the other hand was much easier to win over at this time. Dragons were proud beasts which made compliments a currency of sort. He flexed his wings and sort of hummed in the back of his throat. The sound would rumble through his body and set it to vibrate. His rider shot him an incredulous look, to which Balerion hushed him through their link. *I see you are naught but a hatchling again, Bal. A great beast turned into a purring kitten by a little girl!* Vraelios taunted him through his thoughts, smirking at his dragon as Maria closed the distance between the two. A flick of Bal's tail let him know he would have been flung off if they were not currently with company. He remained still for the girl to inspect him, taking little care in her or his own lack of clothing. Being naked was the most natural a person could ever get; if Vrael was in the forest he roamed as a centaur. Only when he needed his armor did he wear clothing outside of towns and cities. It was only for the sake of others that Vraelios chose to wear garments. She could have been a succubus and the elf would not have been swayed, for he was loyal to his wife and to his children. When the girl spoke and switched to the language of man Vraelios had to listen carefully. It was his least spoken tongue and he had not practiced it in a long time. For a moment he thought to himself and then chose to speak. "Queen?" He said stupidly, momentarily frustrated at his inability to translate his thought. Dubbing oneself queen of beasts was almost an oxymoronic thing to do. Beasts had no rulers. They were lords of themselves until they died. Was she queen of something else? That he did not know. Vrael pointed first to himself and then to the dragon the were still standing on. "Protector, Sentinel." He had learned those words from the elves in Kusana. They had dubbed him and his dragon as such when they repelled both advances of the shade Kumori and his horde of demons. Other than that Vraelios held no titles, no famous names. His was not to reach for crowns, golds, high honors and recognition. Kelios had taught him differently. It did not matter if people knew him or his names so long as he lived up to his duty and responsibility to the land.

Maria's departure from Balerion's head allowed him to reposition himself so that he could see her better. He would first shake himself back and forth in an attempt to throw Vrael off, but their training together allowed the elf to hang on with almost no effort. The elf watched with a keen eye as Maria shifted between forms, fluidly swimming through the water and demonstrating her affinity over water. It came as a surprise to him when she formed the lower part of her body into that of a horse, but not terribly so. A faint smile crossed Vraelios' face. He understood now the familiarity he felt. It was Kelios inside of her just the same as himself. She had been blessed, though how was of another question. He clenched his jaw in thought for a moment as he worked out another sentence. "Maria Kal belongs in sea. Speak strange, look strange. How are you...horse." Bal let out two puffs of smoke from his nose in laughter. Vrael was actually eloquent in their own language, but common escaped him. If she was not from here and did not receive Kelios' blessing directly, had she taken this power from someone else? He had to demonstrate his ability to prove to her why he deserved the answer. The air around him shimmered as viridian energy enveloped him and morphed him. He stood on his hind legs as his body elongated and stretched. Higher he grew until the energy dispersed and his true form was revealed. "Vrael is centaur from Kelios, first centaur. Maria is not, but how..." He trailed off in speech due to a combination of lack of the words he needed and to given Maria a chance to speak. It filled him with a strange sense of dread. Why was she given this power if she did not understand what came with it? Balerion felt the same. He respected Kelios just as much as Vrael. They needed to get to know Maria better before a judgment was made.

Maria truly enjoyed Balerion and Vraelios's connection. She was not in their minds, no, but she knew from experience the bond dragoon had with their dragon charges. From his grin and slight movements from the mighty reptile she could tell they were close. She admired it, truly, to exist between others. When he called himself protector and his friend Dragon, Dominus shifted, causing a flock of birds to fly away and carefully drew closer, within sight without doing any lasting harm to the forest itself."It is them..." he thought to Maria, looking down at the submerged, smaller dragon with a look of respect, not easily won from maria. The sitting mer's eyes grew as she heard of his titles, and matched the name to it. "Ah! I know of you! I heard through the forest and it's creatures of you. You stopped an old enemy of mine who has thrown in with Nocturne!" Dominus shook his body, loosening a bit before breathing a white puff of air from his nose and sitting with a loud thud, by size alone. "I thank you!" she said, roughly in Elvish though her Anthosii seemed to cloud the words a bit.

When he commented on her looks, she giggled again, her Mer like innocence shining through and betraying what she truly was, who she truly was. Sometimes she liked to be the way she was before Kaminae hardened her soul. A lover, a caring individual as much as a warrior. She was still the same woman she had been then, just now her life demanded she be strong and s how no humanity at all, no morality. Hers is but to rule and render judgement... except when she found time to escape, such as now. She stood up, her frozen tower sinking as she thought of a more creative way of telling her story. "Maria Kal. That is who I was born," she said slowly so he could more easily understand. She found his lack of common knowledge endearing, truly. She manipulated the water into the shape of a frozen world, with small mer not so different from herself masterfully crafted and swimming through the air in the small world. "I lived in great ocean, in a small... village with no ties to the demon god Kaminae, or her horde." She very carefully formed a sort of seaweed Garden, her own visage made of ice tending to one very small lizard. "It was peaceful. I cared for the creatures of the ocean as my own children, I was taught to fight by my older brother and how to care for them by my mother. All was well for years. And then... the sea witch found us." She was slow to explain it all, more for herself than him as she relived happy memories, of a loving mother and father, a brother who was better at fighting than she. The expanse of the ocean a dark and scary place to some but the only world she knew at the time. Suddenly, the images were washed away. "My family was taken, along with all of my babies. Well, all but one." She smiled as Dominus, mid yawn, let out a moan that sent ripples through the water, and then exhaled deeply, blowing a few trees until they bent a bit, but snapped back into place. "One old, boring lizard who bonded to me, and swore he would be my protector. A promise he keeps to this day. We ran together to Aramil. With the help of Emperor West, I honed my skill, and set about my path to revenge. Along my path I felled Devrin, the Mad King, and allied with the current ruler of Aramil." The water would show her spear piercing Devrin, Jasper fighting her off, her triumphant return, her lost love Isabella, as she breifly told him of how she came to face Kaminae. "We killed the sea witch, and I took her crown as a reward... among another thing. I tell you this, to tell you of Solonor choosing me as her... champion. I carried her light with me, spreading Justoarianism to the world. However there was a darkness that threatened to corrupt the forest. A rot engineered by an old centaur who was shunned by his people and doomed with madness. He would have rotted the entire forest away but... I defeated him. Ancient texts of Anthosii and Elven were read, and he sacrificed his soul to me to help mend the world. I lost Solonor's light... but gained the power to heal the rot. The creatures of the forest now flock to me, much as this hawk." the bird would Caw loudly before taking wing yet again. "The red dragon of the mountains calls me mother, the jungle cats and mice alike join me when I slumber. I know not of how hybridization works... but that is how I now command both sea and nature." The waters would calm themselves once more. "I admittedly know little of what it means, but I love the forest. I love it's life, its struggle and triumphs. I love centipedes in their ferociousness, and Doves in their beauty. I love the powerful bear, and the humble mice. The trees call to me just as much as the water does. But I do not know why. You are first centaur, yes? Perhaps you teach me?" pointed Maria. She could have had her people find her someone easily, but she was no Empress tonight. Just a hybrid looking for some answers.

      • Masterful Dragon Riding
The dragoon must spend a considerable amount of time riding on their dragon, and must know how to ride on them from every single part of the dragon without falling off. Vraelios was actually surprised she had heard of him. It showed on his face, though humility and being a humble elf kept him from bolstering his ego with the compliment that came along with recognition. It excited him that the girl and he shared another thing in common. "Shadow Magistrate Kumori. Still on realm." He spoke with a dose of chagrin in his voice. Even Balerion seemed to bristle at the statement. That damned creature had actually managed to flee from them twice. Vraelios had spent too much energy fighting him to commit to a chase and refused to have Balerion take on the shade alone. Dominus slowly shifting through the forest in an attempt to not fell any trees caught more attention than if he had just plopped into the lake alongside them. Balerion met the creature's eyes and opened his maw to release a roar of greeting. His tail swayed back and forth through the water. sending ripples out across the water. Dominus was much bigger than he was. Vraelios just stood there in awe for a moment at his size. He did not look like a dragon at all. He appeared to be a giant lizard of some kind. How did it even mange to fly? It's wingspan alone must have been hundreds of feet long to support the weight of its body. "Very large dragon!" The elf shouted in common up at Dominus. It was all he knew how to say in terms of compliments. He held up an arm and bent it at the elbow, flexing his muscle and tapping it while nodding at the dragon. It had to be very strong if it was that size.

Vraelios, still in horse form walked carefully to the edge of Balerion's back and leaped into the water. His hooves beat against it to paddle him forth. It would probably look strange to anyone unaware of what he actually was to see his upper torso just cutting through the water as if he was a fish. He wanted to watch Maria work with the water. It was a wonderful talent which made perfect sense for a Mer to have. He himself held dominion over nature and the earth. Vrael and Balerion both watched the girl form shapes and figurines. They seemed to synchronize in the sense that both of them almost froze in place, statuesque and deep in observation. Their tails lined up perfectly as they both swayed left and right. The elf was smiling at the thought of family. He strongly believed that every living creature was connected, whether through the shared energy or through a heart tree. They came from the same place, and they would return to the same place. He pictured what it would be like to live in the sea, surrounded by strange and unique creatures that no other place in the realm could possibly hold. It was merely a different type of ecosystem to him, a new piece of nature he had yet to explore. "Kaminae." Vraelios spoke the name of the sea witch. That much he knew about. Everyone knew about. It was an event that had shook the very core of the world and changed everything. Now gods and demons alike roamed the realm free to do what they wanted. He was not sure how to think of that. The state of the nations could not be blamed on Maria and her ilk. Kaminae had chose to abandon a natural life and live as a hellspawn. The mer were not to blame. Even in the Order of Kelios there had been dark ones, those who wanted to use their blessing for warfare and conquest. Balerion, through his bond with Vraelios, knew of these names. He knew of the water-god that turned on her kind. He knew that many fish-people allied with her and their kind was divided. He knew of the Emperor in the West, and the King in the East. The draconian Devrin he did not know and felt very little when the water-show would make a spear kill him. Vraelios on the other hand felt sadness. He disliked having to take life. *Life cannot be lived when there exists those wishing to extinguish it. Slay one, save a thousand.* Balerion dipped his head low and prodded Vraelios' body a bit; a show of endearment. The talk of Solonor had the elf very pensive. He knew that there were other gods. It would be foolish to try and outright deny their existence when they actively partook in shaping the world. But he did not worship Solonor and Justor. They were the elvish patrons, sun and moon, dawn and dark. It had been many years since he put his faith into them. It was not that he disliked them. In fact he appreciated what they had done for Kranila in the past. Vraelios merely did not wish to limit himself to the gods. It was the world that needed care and love and prayers, not beings beyond true comprehension. Still, for one so young as Maria to have gained the attention and approval of a god was quite a feat. Vraelios touched where his heart would be and spoke a single word directed at Maria. "Good." She had to be, else Solonor would not have chosen her as a champion.

Balerion sensed Vraelios' anger the moment it arrived. She had slain a centaur to take its power? The centaur's tail flickered in annoyance and his nostrils flared. A blanket of quiet serenity pushed down on him and halted any words he had been about to say or any movements. It was Balerion reigning him in. As much as Vraelios wished to forget that there were centaurs who had forgotten their path and let evil into their hearts he could not. He closed his eyes for a moment and hung his head in a silent prayer. That centaur would live on in someone else now. It would have a chance to redeem itself and set right all it had done wrong. He wished he could say something to Maria, to thank her for taking the one who strayed from righteousness in despite his darkness. There were no words that came to mind in her tongue, so instead he held a fist to his chest in the salute of a centaur. "No. Vraelios is not first." Wanting to convey his own story he motioned for Maria to follow him to shore. When he hit the ground his great legs carried him forth on long strides. Vrael trotted to a tree and held a hand out. The wood wiggled and writhed until it grew out to him and then separated itself. He took a page out of Maria's book and began to tell his own story with words and symbols. His horse part of his body folded its legs so he was closer to the ground. The wood before him morphed between his hands like clay. "I was elf many moons past. Balerion , egg. Kusana my home, until I found Kelios." Vraelios had formed the palace in the tree of the capital city, and then two elves. As he spoke, he morphed one into a centaur. "Kelios teach me, guide me. My master, my friend." He showed the two figures training together, roaming the forests as one. They tended to the plants, rescued animals and protected all living creatures. Then he showed the two of them finding an egg, which Maria would probably guess was Balerion. "Balerion hatch for me. Kelios say "grow him, grow you." That was the best way he could get his message across. Vraelios changed the wood again to show the two of them doing what he had done with his master. Now Bal and Vrael traveled the nation and did what they could to help. Balerion growing bigger and bigger as time past. "Kelios gave me...gift. Centaur. I protect life. We protect life." Vraelios had made a circle with his finger to include himself, Balerion, Maria, and Dominus. The wood continued to twist and morph into more figures. It showed many centaur, two sides. There were those with Kelios who was distinctive from the other figures. He had more detail than any of them, even Vrael and Balerion. "Centaurs forget way. They...battle. Harm the land, harm life. Elves scared, hate them. They want centaurs dead." Vraelios said with sadness in his voice. He had been around when the civil war happened. He had taken part in it and had slain his brothers and sisters. The figures showed Kelios marching to Kusana. It showed him morphing into an elf and falling to his knees. "Kelios offer self. Offer as...retribution. Centaurs felt him die. No more fighting. But Kelios..." Balerion let out a soft keening. It was still a fresh wound for both of them, it always would be. The wood morphed again and showed Vraelios wounded and Bal guarding his body. An elven woman stumbled upon them and tended to his wounds. This was his lover. It smaller figurines came forth as well; their children. It showed centaurs flocking to Vraelios looking for direction. Then, Vraelios came to Kusana. To become stronger so that he may protect the land. An idea crossed his mind and he appeared to be discussing something with Balerion. They came to a mutual agreement. "Come, Kelios would see you." He said, motioning for her to follow him into the forest.

"With this wind, I will swirl. With this fire, I will dance."

"With this water, I will envelop. With this earth, I will crush."

Elysia arrives at the lake and lays down by the shore, waiting for Kylantha to show up. She hums lightly as she waits.

"And with this magic, I will kill."

"You sure you're ready for this?"
