he right guard came forward and as he walked forward, the left guard spoke to him.
"Sapphire Spider, sir...Data says she is from our Universe."
The right guard nodded and continued walking forward till he was at conversation distance with Sapphire. He was instructor to try to reason with any heroes that wanted to interrupt their mission and seem as official as possible. The right guard spoke in an American accent despite the heavy Communist symbols and color on his uniform.
"Task Commander Jean Isane of the Eastern Bloc, I'm going to have to ask you to please step away from the criminal; he has some tech belonging to our organization he had failed to return."
The soldier presented a badge with the U.S.S.R. symbol on it to Sapphire. That was what Jean truly thought too since the Commissar had told them that during the briefing. In reality, Eastern Bloc was just a gang organization in this day and age back in New York, but it use to be the name of a European group back in the Cold War era. Jean was instructed to take Rhino back to New York and on the way, pick up the Commissar.

Deadpool made a face that no one could see. Zero's damn funeral. The creepy skeleton was going to be disappointed. Annoying, though; he'd have to find another way to contact Strange.... Or he could just not have any money. That was the usual state of things, anyway. Reaching down to his belt, he teleported away to deadhut sweet deadhut.

 Sapphire stared at the man a moment, fairly surprised. She really wasn't expecting them to do that...and now wasn't sure what to do. That seemed fairly official enough, and she wasn't from around here so they could actually be good guys. Still, something just struck her as not right. A bit of movement caught her eye and she noticed that the shadow had moved again, closer this time. Hated to say it...but she had more important things to worry about at the moment than these guys. She needed to find Batgirl and make sure she was alright as well. She was starting to wish she had those little tra- wait a minute...she might still be able to keep an eye on Rhino and let them go. Provided no one caught her.
"Huh, interesting uniforms. I know I'm probably not one to talk, but couldn't have you just called the police or SHIELD or something?" she asked, trying to stall a few seconds. A small spider made its way down the side of a nearby building and towards the group. It moved into the netting and onto one of Rhino's horns. Once they got to wherever they were going, it could get off and find a place in the same room. Then she could (with probably considerable concentration), find the spider with her powers and try to connect to other spiders outside the area to find out where they had taken him.

"Heh heh heh heh heh..." Joker hadn't gotten the victory he had planned on, but that was okay. He had ended up with a better victory than he had anticipated. Batgirl wasn't dead... she was his to control. "Cassandra, tell me, did you hear about the martial arts expert who joined the military? No? First time he saluted, he nearly killed himself, heh heh heh..." The joke served a simple purpose: the harder she laughed, the more she'd inhale before it dissipated, making it harder to reverse. And once she started laughing, it would be a while before she stopped. She'd still be able to hear, but she'd be laughing, which was just how he liked things; he liked his people to come to work with a smile on their face. "Cass! Come on, now, stand up and take off that mask! I want to see your smile!"

Batgirl couldn't control the laughing. The joke sucked but it still did it's trick and Cassandra sucked in some more air. When the Joker told her to take her mask off it took almost all of her will power to fight the order. She shook her head no in barely a shake, but she was sure the Joker got the idea. She needed to contact Sapphire. This was something she couldn't handle alone.

"Eastern Bloc business; SHIELD has no authority to mettle in our affairs. Good evening, miss."
The soldier saluted Sapphire Spider and went back to the other guard. The data on Sapphire Spider to be a bit mysterious since the Commissar hadn't had any real contact with her and thus his data on her wasn't complete or very useful. Still, the situation seemed to solve itself and was quite happy he didn't have to shoot anyone. Jean was in the Eastern Bloc for the great medical it provided for his family, not to kill anyone; robotic limbs in case of loss of arms or legs sounded pretty good for him. Jean placed his rifled at his side and started a conversation with the other guard while the task team finished the harness on Rhino.

Sapphire knodded politely and watched him walk away. She glanced back to see where the shadow had gone, but didn't see it. She grimmaced and turned to leap onto another building. She made her way onto the roof and glanced back down at the group. She still didn't quite buy the whole thing, but she didn't have much of an option at the moment. If she did try something, there were enough of them that she'd be focused on them and not that shadow thing. She wasn't in the mood to be ambushed or anything.
Well, good time to test her power over that tiny spider. As expected it was a bit harder to try and connect with such a tiny thing compared to what she usually used. But she did manage to connect with it's sight...and no one had seemed to spot it yet. Good, hopefully it stayed that way.
While she was at it, she'd better try and find Batgirl. There were dozens of spiders around the city, but none of them found anything. She tried the spiders she had stationed at the bar again, and unfortunatly they did find her.
Sapphire hissed something under her breath and raced across the rooftops towards the bar. She was starting to get tired of this clown. Reaper beamed. The gas was quite effective. He briefly turned his attention away to try and find the girl. She had been here, but had raced off for another one of his clones. The ones in New York had a group of heros surrounded, and Sapphire was on her way to the bar now.
"Hehehe. I do believe we'll have more company in a minute." he said with a smile.

Zero, upon reaching the ground, saw the Reaper that was waiting and didn't bother engaging it. He ran away from it, to his car that was waiting nearby. He decided that he would have to find Deadpool later, and floored it to escape from the Reaper.

Joker chuckled ad the red skeleton's news. "Really, Skele-Red? Then we'd better get ready, but first..." He turned back to Cassandra.
"Cassandra, tell me..." he said, picking up the used grenade shell, "Wasn't this just a GAS?! HAHAHAHAHA!!" He needed her to breathe a little more of the gas in the air. "Really, now, what does the whole Robin concept have that Batsy loves so much? I mean, I have nothing against kids, but kids in tights? Batman's supposed to be all mysterious, dark and brooding, so he travels around with a trusted brightly-colored sidekick? Yeah, THAT makes sense... heh heh heh heh heh..."
(( Honestly, that's always bothered me, too; why DOES Robin wear such frickin' bright clothing? ))

Cassandra chuckled to herself as quietly as she could. After hearing the skleton man report tha Sapphie was coming Batgirl sighed with relief acidently sucking in a small outhfull of the gas. She couldn't hold it back anymore, "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! tights.... AHHAAA!"

Sapphire finally arrived by the bar and stopped on the side of a bulding across the road from it. She'd heard Batgirl start laughing and thought it would be best to see what was going on before charging inside. With what looked like gas inside the bar, she felt even more hesitant about going inside. With Batgirl laughing that hard, it must have been laughing gas or something like it. She'd already been hit with a dose of that crap earlier thanks to that green haired girl...she was not in the mood to try and fight it off again. She couldn't just sit here either....maybe she could use her strands to go in for her and pull Batgirl out. She quickly lept down off of the wall and landed a few feet from the enterance of the bar, forming a few of her strands around her to go inside.Reaper grinned a bit and watched the man leave. That Deadpool character seemed to have vanished as well. Heh, oh well. He'd find someone else to help him. And with the majority of the distractions gone, he knew just who he could get. The shadow that had been with Sapphire and Rhino appeared and he sank into it to make his way towards the bar.
Reaper smiled at Joker and pulled a scythe from his robes. He stood and took a few steps towards the door before stoping and glancing back, remembering that the vampire was still in the room.

Joker smiled widely at his imminent victory. "Oh, Cassie, please take that silly mask off, you're FAR too pretty to keep that face hidden... Besides, it'll make laughing SO much easier..." He wanted Cassandra to be in as much of the influence of the Joker Toxin as possible before that Blue Spider Girl walked in; an ally in that fight would be a great asset. "Come on, Cassie, take off the mask; we'd hate to disappoint the thread's posters, wouldn't we?"

"Ahahah!" she couldn't help herself as she pulled the cowl off of her face and sucked in more of the toxin. You're smarter then that Cass! She thought to herself angrily. She didn't want Sapphire getting hurt. Besides it was pretty obvious what the Joker's intentions were. "AHaAHAAHaaHAaHA!" She'd never sounded so ridiculous in her life. Stupid Cass, you should have ran after Deadpool let you go! She mentally cursed at herself. This whole night just seemed to be out to get her. She'd never let her guard down so many times. Batman's going to be pissed. She thought hopelessly, Batgirl could see from where she was laying on the ground female feet, a little aways from the entrance of the bar. Sapphire.

Reaper shrugged and turned back to Joker. "So, do you want the spider to be left outside, or would you prefer she be brought inside as well?" he asked. Some of his other duplicates were seconds away, so it wouldn't be hard.Sapphire shot her sapphire strands inside the building and wrapped them around Batgirl. A second later they lifted her off the ground and levetated her out the door. It was definatly laughing gas, better to bring her out of it so that it could start to wear off on her. She could take the clown while Batgirl recovered.

Batgirl coughed and sucked in the fresh air. She stood up and took in a few shaky breaths. "Hehehe.... HEH..." She had a few giggles left, but luckily Sapphire got her out in time. "Sapphire... Heheehe... Don't go... ehehehhe... in there...heheh...Trap." She managed through her fit of laughs. She pulled her rebreather out of her utility belt and handed it to Sapphire. "There's enough to last... a few minutes...Hehehe...." She mumbled pulling her cowl back on. "And... hehe... I'm coming with you...heeh..."
