Amaya snorted a laugh, the same strange smile coming back - though it fell shortly afterwards.
"Cold? Ah, sorry." She got up and limped her way over to the thermostat. Stupid leg was numb. "I turned down the heat, since it's normally boiling in here. I was putting cold water over you too, since your skin kept drying out." She explained, wet patches around where he lay on the matress indicating that it was true. No sheets were on it either, having all been pulled off since she kept tangling herself in them after her last change.
"Yeah... ******** p***k." The iguana cursed for probably only the second time for Alec's ears. "What were you trying to do anyway?" She asked, adjusting the tempature to about what it was outside.

Alec watched her fiddle with the thermostat, wondering what exactly she'd heard him say. From what he could tell the temperature in the room was fine, the only problem being that he was having trouble feeling the temperature. Or anything for that matter. He let it slide, assuming that perhaps she was cold.
At her question he frowned deeply and clenched his jaw, noticing that there were quite a few gaps in the normal line of zagged teeth though not as many as he thought he'd lost before. A burning feeling of hatred, self-loathing and shame filled his mind and it appeared that he refused to speak for the time being.

Amaya finished fiddling with the thermostat and turned back around, head pivoting to the side so she could see him. "You don't have to tell me if you don't wan-AH!" Upon taking a step towards the bed her only functioning leg gave out, sending her to the ground with a loud thud.
"Augh... ********> She mumbled, sprawled out over her carpet.

Alec blinked and leaned over the edge of the bed, staring at the disshevelled iguana girl sprawled out on the floor. "Ye ekay?" The shark boy slowly moved to stand up, reaching down to help Amaya. It seems the poor girl was still quite clumsy with her new body. Doctor Moreau The loudspeakers in the village and the speakers in everyone's duplexes crackled through at once. The voice of Moreau resounding through the entire area. "Greetings my oh so precious subjects. This is Dr. Moreau, if you weren't already aware, recently an attack was made on my fiance Dr. Aubrey Lockheart, and a threat to me."
"Now while the threat has been dealt with, there is the issue of punishment. Many of you have been here for some time and already have learned what it is like to live without my hospitality, but obviosly some of you recent subjects seem to have gotten the idea that you might have some... leverage here." Moreau half laughed over the intercom.
"That said, the perpetrators of this henious act are to be punished, their duplexes will be locked and they will be left to the wild. They will not be allowed within 100 ft of the village. If they violate this they will be knocked unconcious and kept that way until someone drags them outside of range. In addition they will not be allowed food, clothes, or supplies from the village. They will be watched and anyone who is caught giving them any of these materials will suffer a simlar fate. Perhaps this was they'll learn the error of crossing me. If..." a smug grin on Moreau's face showing through the intercom. "...they haven't already."
"Learn your place boys." is Moreau's final message as the intercom goes off.
Suddenly, you and anyone around you black out, when you wake up, your in the village exactly 100 ft from the village. Of course, anyone around you would black out where they were. You have only one set of clothing, most likely whatever you were wearing unless you were not wearing anything significant. He froze when he heard the first signs of life from the speakers, dreading the inevitable. He knew that message was for him before he even heard the first syllable out of that damn Devil's mouth. His blood ran cold as he froze in a half-stooping position, staring off ahead of him in mute shock. Wild.... what? What the hell was talking about, he couldn't survive in the "WILD", this "WILD" was like some place he'd only seen or heard of in a movie.
This wasn't happening. But before the announcement could even finish, it was already too late to panic any further. A familiar sharp jolt and he fell over unconscious.

"Yeah, leg just gave out." Amaya smiled up at him, getting to her hands with his help when the intercom clicked on.
Her head snapped around, staring with wide eyes as the devil's face came onto it. She listened in horror, images of the lockout fresh in her mind. "Oh god... Alec..."
When it finished all she could do was stare at the blank screen, then at the punk. She could almost already feel the tingle in the back of her neck that would knock her out. "I'm sorry..." Yellow eyes looked up at him sadly just as her body jolted with the shock and she fell flat on her belly once more - unconscious.

[Throwing it Away]
Amaya didn't wake up until hours later, moaning as her muscles spasmed, twitched and went numb all over the place. Getting shocked twice in one day was not fun - esspecially if one instance leaves your nerves shot to hell.
She lay for some time, trying to get her body back in order. Eventually she got to her hands and knees, using her bed to help get her to a stand. Ugh, her head...
"Alec...?" The iguana looked around the room for him, the announcement slowly coming back to her and the shark-boy nowhere to be seen. "ALEC!" She hobbled to her bathroom to make sure he wasn't there either. Finding nothing, she ran to her door - legs feeling better by the minute.
He was out in the wild. Alone. Like she had been in the lockout.
She opened the door and stared out at the evening sky, the climate getting colder and colder as the months drew on to another close. Soon she would be 17. Soon she would reach the mark of being here for a whole year. Amaya had more experiance of dealing with the wild than Alec did. Not much, but it was something.
The good doctor could rot in his own hell and lock her outside again for all she cared.
Haunting yellow and brown eyes glared back into her duplex. "Hell is too ******** good for any of you bastards." She spat, slamming her door with an animalistic hiss.
The teen would go and stuff her face for now, leave on the full belly to find Alec and help him survive with what little she knew. She held a determination and temper that she had never thought even existed, ready to stay out in the wild forever if need be.

Only God knew what time of night it was or if he should even be outside after dark. Nighttime always seemed to spawn restlessness in the wounded teen but he usually dealt with it quietly (or not), though on this occassion he'd come up with the bright idea he couldn't ignore any longer. He hadn't seen Amaya in a few days at least, not since the shitty party he'd attempted to hold that had been abruptly ruined by the gracious Moreau's reinitialization of his 'punishment', so he wondered what she was up to. This eventually lead to thoughts of what the various other islanders had been up to, and eventually it hit him that he hadn't seen Zach in a very long time --- and he was yet to fulfill the pact with the dragonman.
Guilt and shame aside, the irish kid was mostly consumed with the utmost embarassment of a kid asking out a girl on a first date which only made it all the more weird and confusing for him.
He was at a loss of ideas on what to do. Hell, it wasn't like he'd ever even gone of a single date in his life before. What the hell do people even do on dates any ways? He just couldn't see himself macking out with Amaya... the image alone was just... weird.
And yet there he was, standing dumbly at the doorway of the iguana girl with a blanket rolled into a cylinder and tucked under his arm, his best pair of pants on (it felt so WEIRD to be wearing pants!) and a film of sweat on his brow.
Inhaling sharply, he knocked.

Night normally meant that it was time to go to sleep for the iguana girl, especially now that it was getting a little colder earlier. She was diurnal, afterall.
She had been brushing her teeth when the knock sounded out on her door, the sound of Godsmack playing quietly in her duplex. It didn't seem she was as dissruptive to others as Alec was. Amaya blinked and looked out the bathroom door, wondering who would knock at this hour. But even if she yelled her loudest she knew whoever was behind the door wouldn't hear her - so after finishing quickly and turning off the music she ran to the door.
The teen looked rather surprised to see Alec, especially wearing pants instead of his normal knee-lenght cargo pants or his swimtrunks. But nevertheless, she wasn't any less enthusiastic. "Hey Alec, what's up?" She smiled, wondering what the occasion was.

Alec, being outgoing and exciteable already, had prepared himself previously to deal with his current 'disability' in stride so as not to cause any unnecessary strife or attention. So when the sleepy iguana girl opened her door, the toothless wonder that was the rambunctious shark-boy, gave a wide though albeit sheepish smile in greeting. "Aaaay! 'ope ye mo' goin' t'med." He garbled to the fellow youngster, hoping he'd last more than five minutes at her doorway before being outright rejected in favor of bedtime.
"Wamma go ou'?" He might as well make the pick-up line as ambiguous as possible.
