Pyroth Ignatius

Pyroth was used to seeing islander after islander arrive and change beyond all recognition over time, as such he made sure to note Tommy's scent over his appearance. He'd always thought he'd never get used to observing the changes in others but it seemed everything changed when you looked through the eyes of another creature.

The coyote countered his grin with his own toothy one, laughing slightly as the realisation dawned on Tommy that it was impossible to shake hands. "Change recently?" he asked sympathetically, eyeing his hand.

Tommy sighs and glances at the water a moment before looking back to the large talking coyote.
"Yeah...a couple days ago," Tommy looks to his hands and turns them this way and that, "Seems they want to make a blood sucker outta me...gotta wonder how that's an advancement of science...eh?" Tommy sighs again.

"But damn, you must've been here longer than anyone."

Pyroth nodded, still sympathetic "Most of the stuff they do here doesn't make any sense, sometimes I wonder if they are trying to further science or just ******** around with our lives." If you could even call it a life now by his old standards. "Still, there are worse things they could have turned you into, trust me. I know one guy who is turning into an octopus, doesn't get much worse than that in my opinion."

He laughed bitterly, the sound barely human, more coyote than anything else. "Yes, I've been here a long time but there are others who've been around longer. I normally take it by duplex number since new arrivals seem to get allocated them in order. Mine is duplex 5." he flicked his tail "I've been here just over a year. Feels like a lifetime."

Tommy takes a sip from his V8, grimacing slightly.
.oO(Ugh...this s**t gets old fast...)

The bat-man's eyebrows shoot up at the mention of an octopus, but then he just shakes his head, "Christ...*sigh*"

He sits there for a moment, pondering the thought of this place for about the millionth time. And every time plans, ideas, and strategies on how to get close enough to Moreau and slit his throat bubble to the surface of his mind. And just like every other time, Tommy has a pained expression on his face for a moment right before he burries these thoughts back down.

A thought comes to him, to either distract Pyroth from the look or himself from his own mind is your decision. "Can you still...use your duplex?"

"If I remember to leave the door open I can. Handles are still a bit of a hassle." he frowned "But yeah, I'll learn in time probably." he eyed Tommy's drink for a second, suddenly craving his own usual fix of JD, knowng that even small amounts of the stuff made him sick but not caring.

"So how'd they get you here?" he asked.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 4:57 pm

Tommy would probably take the canine up on the JD, feeling the need to get shitfaced tonight.
At Pyroth's question, Tommy plants his hands behind him and leans back in thought, "Jeez...it's only been about four weeks, but it seems like forever...just going to get longer too..." He trails off for a moment before shaking his head and looking back to Pyroth, "I was on a hop to Aviano air force base in Italy when I think we hit a flock of birds or something...anyway, engines went out along with the pilot of the C-17, and the rest of us had to parachute out...seems I'm the unlucky one of my group."

The coyote raised a brow slightly "You were in the air force?" how fitting they'd be turning him into a creature that could fly. "Yeah, very unlucky, though that happened to the rest of your team?" he wasn't really sure if Moreau would kill them or simply make it so they were rescued and Tommy was not. He had always sympathised with army men, they often had to put up with crap from their superiors of the kind he had to at one point too.

"I was shipwrecked in a storm off the island, was supposed to be coming here for research reasons."

"Well, I was an officer in training at the U.S. Air Force Academy. We were heading to Aviano to see what an overseas base was like...but yeah, I'm not sure what happened to the rest of them. I had trouble with my parachute, so I was the last one out of the jet. Maybe a crosswind blew me away from them...I dunno. All I do know is that I spent God knows how many days just drifting along at sea until I was picked up by Moreau's men," Tommy says while staring off a bit, reliving the horror of being out at sea with little to no food at all...he shakes his head and looks back to Pyroth.

"Shipwrecked...? Oh, alright. So they duped you into coming here too then? Goddamn...there's what...over fifty people here now? It's amazing no one's done anything about this yet..."

Amaya Vaughan

[New RP]

Amaya was ever-so-slowly making her way closer and closer to where she thought her mate friend to be. Alec would probably have to hang around water - but seeing as the lake was probably too close to the duplexes, he would have to make camp near the river.

She followed the scent of the running liquid, eventually coming to the bank of the large river. Ahhh, what a sight. Had it been days since she had last taken a bath? Probably, but then again... reptiles didn't sweat. That was always a nice little perk about being cold-blooded and scaley and all... however small.

Her now light orange muzzle dipped down into the water, her large pink tongue lapping at the water's surface. It had been awhile since she had drank a decent amount - having refused to make trips to the village for any source of food. But it wasn't that hard for her to live out in the jungle now that she was 'complete'. All she needed was around her - fruit and foliage to eat, water to drink from the small streams and puddles, sunlight to keep her going, and a bed high in a tree's canopy.

After getting her fill, Amaya walked into the water - still on all fours from her trudge through the jungle. Once deep enough she swam out, her body looking like a strange aligator or crocodille in the way she moved. Her legs tucked to her sides, her whole body swaying through the waves and her long tail propelling her along.

There was a sudden splash up ahead of her, like something shooting through the water away from her towards the rocky side towards the bank, but there was nothing but the greys and browns of the rocks and water. There was, though, what looked like a white patch of moss flowing from one of the rocks. Upon closer inspection, it was like wet, scraggly hair, two purple eyes peering at her from under the water.

The iguana's legs flung out to stop her as her eyes followed the trail of bubbles towards the rocks. She squinted, trying to see what it was. Though when two purple eyes stared back at her she quiet promptly freaked out. Bubbles burst from her nose and she forced herself upward, breaking the surface with a splash.

Her large hand went over her mouth as she coughed and wheezed, having swallowed some of the water when she had panicked.

Amaya tredded water, wiping at her eyes and trying to get the water out of her lungs.

Whatever it was that had been watching her didn't surface, remaining still in hopes that she would think he had just been her imagination. Billy was hiding. Since Antony had dropped him off at the lake once again, the octopus had stuck to the watery parts of the island. His chair was too much of a hassle without either someone to push him or a real need to go to the village- which he quite frankly had no business there. There were plenty of fish and crabs to catch and for short periods of time he could stand enough saltier water to search for clams out towards the ocean. Forraging and exploring had kept his mind off of... other issues. He had practiced changing colors "on demand" as well. He wasn't fabulous, and couldn't do anything about his pigmentless hair, but the rest of him he was getting basic colors and shades down, if not light splotching to attempt to emulate patterns. It was a difficult business, but without much else to occupy his time, he had gotten decent enough for what his body would allow.

Once Amaya had regained her composure she looked back down at the white clump she could make out above the surface of the water. After some thought, she poked her head back down under to look at the creature, realizing that it's head looked reasonably human in shape - and the white clump was actually hair.

... What was his name again? She had only seen one person turning into an octopus. He hadn't exactly been a very nice guy... The lizard turned to swim away but stopped. This guy obviously stayed in the river, maybe he had seen Alec?

With a deep sigh she turned back around and plunged under once more, swimming towards the man-turned-octopus.

Realizing that he had been spotted, Billy relaxed, his color returning to it's usual greyish hue as he surfaced, shooting the iguana girl a hot glare. "Jes' keep goin'!"

Amaya was rather taken aback by the glare and shout, stopping in her tracks halfway towards the octopus. At any other time of the year she would have shrunken back, cowered, then swam away like a beaten puppy.

But unfortunatly for the both of them, it was a very different time of year.

Her inhuman eyes glared back once she had surfaced along with him, her long tail propeling her foreward to close a little more of the distance so he could have some chance at hearing her unnaturally quiet voice.

"I just have to ask you something!" She shouted, hopeing he'd be able to hear her. The teen wasn't sure how well an octopus' hearing was, but she guessed it was pretty lousy. "Then I'll leave you alone."
