Taun sat down with his back to the wall and watched Kel shifting through some papers. He wanted to ask what they were but Kel seemed a bit preoccupied.

"Hi, I'm Zig," she replied while smiling back at the woman. "Glad to see you made it out here. 'Tis a dangerous trail full of pits, monsters, and dangerous weather." Though this was true it was also a strange description for such a short piece of land. She felt odd being the only one standing so Zig also sat. She found a comfortable place not too far away from the newcomer.

"I noticed. It's not much of a decor huh?"
Tala smiled. "I'm Tala Minami. This is Makani," she said, indicating the wolf. One of her ears perked up at her name and then turn back down. She laid her head in her paws.
"Thank you for coming for me," she said to the water elementist. She smiled at him and then glanced at the other man who was sorting through some papers. She raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Zig realized she'd forgotten to give her full name for the second time today. She rarely had to give it out since she didn't really meet people often, but it still was a bad habit she ought to have broken by now. "Suppose I ought to say I'm Ziggurat Swood, but I'm glad to meet you both," she said. She looked over at what Tala had raised an eyebrow at and saw Kel. For some reason she wasn't exactly surprised to be seeing him do that. Perhaps her experience with him in the tavern made her think he'd look at something strange without any explanation or maybe she just got a secretive vibe from him.
Zig suddenly abandoned that train of thought for another. Tala's introduction of Makani had caused her to think of Axex. I wonder where that bird's gone. Just as she thought this the Griffon Vulture came swooping doen from the sky to drop her knapsack by her side before landing on her shoulder. "Oh, good, you're alright. This is Axex, my pet," said Zig to explain the large bird.

"Taun is a strong name. Pleased to meet yours and Zig's acquaintance."
Tala searched into her bag and pulled out a vial of pomegranate juice with crushed sprigs of mint mixed into it. She took off the top and poured a little into her mouth, careful to not touch the bottle to her lips. She then offered some to Taun.
"It will help you regain your energy."

I wonder what that drink is. Once more Zig was driven from her thoughts; Axex had pecked her on top of the head. Note to self: stop calling my pet a pet.

Tala's eyes widened at seeing the large griffin land so close. She had never seen one before. It was quite a beautiful creature.
Makani had never seen one either but reacted quite differently. The she wolf jumped up from her position and began barking loudly, startled by the huge animal.
"Makani, enough my friend. It won't hurt you," she said soothingly, looking at Zig for confirmation. The wolf stopped barking but continued to whine.
"I'm sorry about that. Axex is quite magnificent."

"Thanks very much." Taun said as he accepted the bottle. He made sure that when he drank it, he copied her actions. He knew some of the concoctions that healers made could be dangerous if not taken in the right way.

Tala let out a small laugh as she watched Taun drink the juice the same way she had and said, "You didn't have to do that. I was just being courteous so as not to share my 'germs' with you."
((Yeah, just make it a npc. Like how I did at the tavern healing the drunk))

"No, I have a feeling Makani could beat Axex up pretty easily if necessary although he'd put up a good fight. He's just an ornery bird who likes to think he's better than everyone else. Don't worry about it. He'll probably take her concern as a compliment," Zig said. From the way the vulture was preening his feathers she'd been right about the compliment. She smiled at the way Taun drank the juice, but said nothing.

Kel stashed his scrolls quietly in his bag and put his hands together. "Well, That leaves me with one or two cards left to play. Can't really prepare for situations like this, though at this rate those two geezers will do themselves in wasting power on overly flashy moves." He folded his arms and turned his gaze toward the eclipse in the sky. "Someone is going to have to explain what relevance that has. Seems like an empty gesture to me." After a quick glance at the combatants, he looked toward the ground just beyond his feet. He had grown fairly impatient with the fight wondering who would come out on top and most importantly, when.

While she was talking with Taun and Zig, Tala mentally talked to the other man. You are very quiet. How is your arm doing?
She inwardly wondered how Valkyrie and Kiro were doing. She hoped that they get to their destinations safely.
