"I don't like having her over there alone any more than you do," replied Zig. "It just not safe for her." Since she was pretty sure that her words had already arrived at the lone woman's ear she reversed the flow of the air once more to allow for a possible response.

Tala heard the woman's words and thought carefully. To be honest, she really had no idea. Instead of using the woman's air current, she opened up a mind connection so that the woman could hear her better.
I think if we run and meet halfway, then we should have no problem.
Tala looked at Makani. "What do you think girl?"
Makani cocked her head to the side and whimpered, ears turned down.

Zig jumped slightly as a voice resounded in her head. She'd used telepathy before, but wasn't particularly skilled in the art of it so she was unused to this form of communication. She looked toward the woman whom she'd spoken to and assumed it was her. Yes, that may work better, Zig replied. Taun, the guy crouching, is ready to run out there, but I doubt he can hold a shield up right now. Could you? Otherwise I'll run to meet you. I think I could hold one up.

Tala considered herself for a second. She felt strong enough to hold up a shield long enough to get over there.
I can sustain a shield with relatively no problem. I'm ready when he is.
She gathered up her Healer's bag and took a deep breath. She would throw up her shield when the man reached her and then they would run back under it. She was sure that she could make it over to him without being hit.
"Ready Makani?"
The great she wolf stood and shook out her fur.

Depending on the outcome of this fight chaos could ensue. Ultimately it'll depend on how well the king can cover it up... if he lives anyway. "Looks like I'll be working harder this winter." He sighed and scratched his head before checking his coat pockets. Having found nothing of interest he checked his bag and pulled out a handful of rolled up papers. He sifted through them.

I'll tell him Zig replied to the healer before turning to the water elementalist. "Here's the plan, Taun. You two are both going to run out and meet in the middle. Once you get there she'll put up a shield and the two of you can run back under that. Got it?" She caught her breath and waited for Taun's reply.

Taun stood up and got into a running position. "Okay," he said. "Whenever she's ready."

Tala noticed that the man had gotten himself into a running position. She took a deep breath in and let it out slowly and assumed the same position herself.
"Okay, ready...." She said to herself.
Go She said abruptly to the other woman and then began sprinting, the she wolf quickly gaining a lead in front of her. It was considerably colder running than it had been sitting and her eyes stung.

Taun saw her start running and quickly started himself. As he was running past the gate his foot caught in one of the holes made by the lightning storm earlier. "Dammit!" he shouted as he fell forward. He brought his hand to the pouch at his waist and called forth the water there. He turned it to ice and used it as a hand-hold to launch himself forward to keep his momentum. He called the water back and hit the ground running.

[[Sorry, was busy finishing a Quidditch game in another guild.]]
Zig was about to tell Taun to go when he started by himself. Then, he tripped. She got worried for a second, but soon enough he was on his feet and ready to go again. She watched the pair run and hoped they'd make it without any mishaps along the way.

Tala saw the man trip and started running faster to get to him. He helped himself up, however and continued running. Tala gave a small smile.
When she met him in the middle, she quickly murmured the spell and grabbed his arm so that she could help him switch directions faster. The glowing dome surrounded both of them and Makani and she continued to run faster.
Tala's skin was beginning to heat up from using her magic and she let the other man go, not wanting to burn him. She could tell he was a water elementist like Kiro.
"Great weather, huh?" She panted, still running.

"Oh yes, it's so wonderful." Taun said running beside the girl and her wolf. "I am particularly fond of the great abyss of death and destruction. It just adds that perfect mood lighting, don't you think?"

Zig smiled as the two met and the woman formed her shield. Now it was very unlikely that either of them would be hurt. She wondered just what they were talking about, but she figured it wouldn't be of much consequence. That was just her insatiable curiosity speaking.

"Yeah, makes you want to sing."
Tala and her two companions reached the woman and the other man finally and she let down her shield. By now, she was tired and she sat down, the she wolf coming up behind her and wrapping herself around her, like a makeshift pillow.
Sweating, she closed her eyes. She knew she looked rather dingy with her hair a mess and her dress dirty and her face streaked. She felt slightly embarrassed by this, but figured that these people understood.
"Hello." She said with a weary smile.
