I had a fight with my sister today that ended very well.
After she stopped tripping balls and apologized, she said the whole reason she doesn't do anything about Courtney acting like she runs s**t is because she doesn't want to look like a b***h. Which is kind of silly because when she bottles her frustration up and doesn't say anything, she eventually explodes and ends up being ten times the b***h she would have been if she'd dealt with it when it started to bother her.
So I am taking over the people-related part of the landlord deal. I'll be putting together rental contracts, finding new roommates, enforcing the rules, and evicting people who refuse to follow them.
I don't really like having rules in the first place, but things have to change around here. I am sick of doing dishes that people don't even bother to rinse, apologizing to my visiting friends for the dog s**t and/or garbage strewn all over the place from an untrained and unsupervised puppy, choking on the stench of a catbox that hasn't been touched for a week while I'm trying to do laundry, getting yelled at for moving laundry that has been left in the washer for hours into the dryer...
I think all of these problems stemmed from the fact that there has been zero communication about what is expected of each boarder, so I'm looking forward to stopping them all at the source and turning this house into a decent place to live.

"Literate" Internet communities slightly annoy me.
Especially when they don't live up to the standards they expect to hold everyone else to and misspell a very common word on their homepage. I mean, is it really such a big deal if someone can't spell properly or is too lazy to punctuate posts they make hundreds of daily, in a forum, on the Internet? Nobody's perfect, not even you, apparently; why close your mind to people who could potentially be very interesting to know over something so shallow?

I'm seriously considering ragequitting the Internet until I can set up a change of ISPs.
I have a lot of movies to watch and games to beat. It wouldn't be so bad. And at nighttime it's stable enough to be tolerable, so I could still manage to stay on top of my SK alchemy/crown stockpiling, vending quest for Tiago, and League first-wins.
I should probably be taking this as an opportunity to go out and meet people and "get a life" as it were, but every time I try to do that I don't enjoy myself. Facades, inhibitions, expectations, judgments and the fear of them... these are all complex, frustrating, and unnecessary things that I don't believe anybody genuinely enjoys living up to. Social etiquette wears on my patience. Why can't we all just be honest and open and enjoy ourselves without caring about how we stack up to others? When did we get this silly idea that it matters what other people think of us?
I do want to make some new friends, I really do. But I want to actually know them, not just the parts they think I will approve of. :I
