Malik wasn't sure what to think when he saw his doppelganger other than it needed to go away right this instant. For some odd reason he felt determined to face down with this doppelganger, which was not like him at all. He hated fighting, and fighting himself wasn't exactly an ideal experience. He was generally not a determined boil, but he felt the need to take the doppelganger down. There could only be one Malik after all. That Malik was him. He was going to take this impostor down one way or another! After the failed caroling he needed to vent some frustrations anyway, and what better way to do it than to beat himself up over it.

At some point, antlers locked between two sets of fluffy white hair, and the Helmuts battle turned less battle and more of an attempt to free themselves from each other.

Helmut, as in the original Helmut, was getting very tired of fighting herself. She did it all the time, why did she have to do it again now? It wasn't fair. Her antlers were still locked, and somehow, by some unfortunate way, she managed to avoid hitting the thing that was quite literally in her grasp.
"Xavieeeerrrrrrrr!" She whined pathetically, as if her bestest of friends would come and rescue her from herself.

He'd tried to lunge at his doppelganger the first time, but unfortunately hadn't done too swell at hitting it and instead stumbled and nearly fell over. This time would be different though. He spun back around and took a fist to the face, but managed to also slam his elbow into the doppelganger's stomach. He'd say it was progress if it wasn't for the fact his face was now aching. He really needed to start training with other creeple to get better at this whole fighting business.

Riyo had been certain that Akubi walked in beside her, but inexplicably she found herself alone.
"Akubi?" She called out, looking around momentarily before seeing... Some kind of figure ahead of her. Knowing it would be futile to try and go the other way, she cautiously stepped forward.
It was... Her. But not her. A light blue version of her with a terrible fashion sense... And a knife?
Suddenly a cold, calculating Riyo clone was up in her grill, and managed to get a cut on her hand as she held her hands out in defense.
s**t.
"Oh hell no!" Riyo screeched as her cut hand formed a fist and struck right across bizarro-Riyo's face.
A swing and a miss yet again. This time the Malikganger had caught on and tripped him instead of letting him hit him. He hit the ground with a thud, grumbling as his head smacked the ground. Malik one, doppelganger two. The fight was getting real now.

Xavier wouldn't be coming to rescue her, and she understood that, but it had been worth the shot. When it became clear that this was her battle, and her battle alone, she bucked up and jerked her head to the side suddenly, the locked antlers forcing her opponent's head to the side as well.

The frustrating doppelganger still had the upper hand in this battle of the Maliks. He had to somehow prove he was better! He just didn't know how he was supposed to do that. All he could do was pick at the doppelganger little by little, but it was far more powerful than he had imagined. It had to be stopped before its evil was too much to contain. He was the hero of this story after all. And now that he thought about it the blows to the head might have been getting to him a little bit also. But he was still the hero.

A SWING OF EPIC PROPORTIONS. Malik was pleased as he sent the enemy flying, his wings flailing in a most wonderful display. There was hope for him yet, and he would not fail in his righteous quest! He had to defend the land from the demon double if it was the last thing he had to do. The Christmas games would be safe once more if he had anything to say about it!

Riyo couldn't say she hadn't been in similar gladiator positions, and especially ones where she was facing herself as the villain. It was a common scenario, especially in her mind.
Huffing, she jumped back as her double recovered from the blow, though it was much too soon before they were in her face again, their own fists making contact with her face. The cat ghoul barely managed to graze her foe this time. Now this felt more like her defeatist dreams.

The sudden force unlocked their antlers, and the next shove sent the double to the ground. Helmut, feeling suddenly confident, tackled her poorly dressed opponent, and tore at her with sharp little claws until it was quite clear that it wasn't about to move any time soon.
It wouldn't sink in until much later that Helmut had, essentially, just killed herself. For now, it was simply a battle and, more importantly, one that she had won.
She screeched in delight and took off to victory, before any more doubles had the great idea to take on the original.
