Elevator music would be good right about now. As Ichi leaned on the back onto the wall of the round elevator she sighed, tapping her foot, moving the lollipop in her mouth from her right cheek to her left. It's been quiet lately. She's only seven floors up, but why did it feel to her like one hundred? It was the silence.

Finally.

The doors of the elevator opened, and Ichi stepped out. Today she wasn't wearing anything special. Just some tight black jeans that flared a little at the bottom. They were a little long, but she didn't seem to care. She wore some shoes, fully decorated with graffiti and neon green shoelaces, and an extremely colorful t-shirt that seemed to match her shoes and hug her small frame. She wore a small black hairpin in the shape of a cat's head in her blonde hair.

It was like the usual. No one was there. Ichi pulled the lollipop out of her mouth and smacked her lips, licking them. She slipped the lollipop back into her mouth as she made it to the kitchen. She jumped over the counter, landing on her feet on the other side. She shifted towards the fridge, pulling the door open with her hands. She started to examine the contents within the fridge, bending over starting with the bottom shelf.

The wind swept through his hair like a rake through sand, the sunlight sparkling off of it like tiny star fragments in his head. His mother had once told him he looked like a moon kissed angel the way his body was so smooth and pale, but not sickly. It hardly mattered to him, but he couldn't deny that something about him had to be attractive as people were commonly much more interested in him than he was in them.

Spotting the Orion, he began his descent for the doors, allowing himself basically to fall out of the sky at an alarming rate not even he could survive without injury. "How exactly am I suppose to go about this? I suppose I should have asked Okaa san before I left. Naturally the one thing she didn't tell me is the one thing I would need know."

With a sigh he began to alter his momentum, becoming noticeably slower out of the nose dive as his body began to rise back before landing safely on both feet. He made a mental note that boots were not the best choice of foot wear if there was going to be much flying; or at least he'd have to be a bit more wary of how he landed. "It's not her fault I suppose. She seemed a bit sad to see me go. I guess most mothers are like that when their kids finally leave home."

Pushing the door open gently, he fell silent, though his ears perked up a bit, optimistic that someone as nice or nicer might greet him today. Hospitality always settled well with him, though he hoped whoever came in would forgive his appearance. One of his first moves was to open his own business which happened to be a privately owned odd jobs company. Today had been a painting job and he hadn't changed his clothes, plain blue jeans and a white T-shirt that could be thrown away without much expense.

Though his skin wasn't blemished, the hues of baby blue for a baby room, orange for a bathroom, and lime green for the living room - the one no one would actually use - stood out sharply on the thin cotton shirt, but he paid it no mind. Noticing the club to be empty, he took a seat at the bar to wait or decide what he might want to drink. It occurred to him while he sat that he never really went past the lounge whenever he visited, but there was always that one hallway...maybe he should check that out?

Cool air from the fridge could be felt on Ichi's face and bare arms. Her tail was up in the air slowly twirling in the air. There was barely anything in the fridge, except the few items that Ichi buys for herself. She took out a carton of orange juice, still full, but almost at expiration date. She twisted open the cap and tossed her lollipop and the cap into the trash behind her, she didn't have any intention of not finishing the carton. She lifted up the carton, the opening touched her lips, and she took a few gulps.

"Ahhh~!"

A refreshed sigh came from Ichi's smiling mouth. She turned, closing the door of the fridge with her tail. When she turned, she noticed someone at the bar. She didn't even notice the guy coming in. She stared at him for a moment, examining his features. A young kitsune, a hot one at that. She set her OJ down onto the counter in front of her, raising her arm into a wave.

"Oy! Newbie! Need anything?"

Kenta Kitsune

He was jolted from his thoughts as a relatively familiar voice called out to him. The sound of it hit too close to home and he figured out why before he realized this. His second visit here and yet again he had met another kitsune, but she was no ordinary kitsune. Well actually she was, but in his book, she was one of the special ones.

Sitting there in awe of her, Kenta simply gawked at the sight of his mother years younger, though not so much physically. Kitsune were gifted not to age nearly as rapidly as the unfortunate human race. Had it not been for the fact that he knew most everything there was to know about his mother's facial features - she being the only one he ever talked with on a consistent basis - he would have been completely thrown off by the blonde hair. She had never told him she died it, which would have been nice to know all things considered.

He tried to answer, but he had a flashback first. About two...three days ago, before he arrived, his mother had told him one particularly interesting thing.

"No matter how many times you talk to me in the past, be sure not to tell me I'm your son. I wasn't ready for a kid back then." She sounded so positively jovial despite all the tears streaming down her face. Was it that hard letting go? That was not something for him to know. Not now at least.

"Uhm, no thank you ma'am," he couldn't help but be respectful even though she was only like what...twenty something tops now. "I'm fine." He smiled kindly as he turned down the offer, his teeth just peeking but flashing brilliantly all the same.

Ichi let her arm relax as he gawked at her. She stayed silent, since she didn't know what to do next. When he finally replied, his reply made her let out a hearty laugh.

Her hand waved in a 'shoo shoo' manner, but she was smiling. "There's no need to use that kind of language here, no one here is particularly formal."

This here specimen was an odd one, he was so much different than the others in Orion, most of the others seemed so uptight. There was no use to just say 'okay' and ignore him, Ichi wanted to know more about the newcomer.

She jumped up again over the counter, and headed towards the bar. She stopped after a few steps, forgetting her OJ on the counter. "Oops." She turned back, and then continued toward the bar when she had it in her hand. She didn't say a word until she was next to him. She pulled herself up onto the bar countertop, taking a few gulps of her orange juice before she put it down next to her.

"I've never seen you here before, what brings you here to practically the middle of no where?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:05 pm

"Hai..." he said a bit timidly as she shunned him away from polite speech, which would be particularly difficult for him. As she approached him, all he could do was stiffen, his ears completely on end as he twiddled his thumbs, hoping she couldn't tell there was something up.

Please break the ice, please break the ice, please break the ice.

"I've never seen you here before..."

Yes!

Clearing his throat, he lifted his head as she had opted to sit on the counter and not one of the many free bar stools. Usually he looked down to see his mother as he was taller than both parents and had been since about sixteen. That was only three years ago, but that's a long time for someone who isn't even twenty.

"Well miss...I mean...uhm...I'm looking for someone. I was told if I came here I might have a few of my questions answered." Was that too much to tell her? Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. What if she asks who he's looking for? Does he just lie about it? Better than disobeying her, although technically he can't disobey her because she told him in the future and he was now in the past so she hadn't said anything to him yet...right? Perhaps it would be best to try and keep a low profile from now on. He took in a deep breath and his ears relaxed, even drooped a little as he kicked himself for his carelessness.

"Oh, please forgive me. My name is Kenta...what's your name miss?"

She relaxed her tail on the part of the bar to her left and started to kick her feet. She thought about who he could be looking for, could be Deity, everyone looks for Deity. Who else would he be looking for? Her ears perked straight up when he asked her name, realizing her mind was off somewhere else.

"Me? Oh. It's Ichigo, but you can call me Ichi, Kenta."

She smiled a broad smile at the kitsune, then she remembered what she was daydreaming about. It would be better than asking him mindless question on the top of her head.

"Oh! Might I ask you about the person you are looking for? I might be able to help you find them."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:19 pm

Damn! Of course she would ask and now he had to lie. LIE! To his own mother before she had any right to punish him. Well he didn't exactly have to, but better now than later. A half truth at least would be better.

"Well...Ichi, my mother honestly only wants me to keep that between myself and the people she sent me here to see. No offense, but I'd rather not disobey her. She raised me my entire life alone and it would seem especially disrespectful to break one of only a few vows I could ever make to her." A bit much maybe? Maybe. Hopefully not...

"For fear of piquing your curiosity any more than I already have, might I boldly suggest we change the subject. There's no reason we can't...still be friends is there?"

"Still be friends? Of course! Even though I just met you, it's not like I just dumped you or anything."

Ichi understood why he couldn't tell her. There were a lot of secrets Ichi probably didn't know about in the world, even with people she knew now. Ichi sighed as Kenta spoke, she closed her eyes slowly, lifted up her right hand and flung it towards the back of Kenta's head.

"I thought I told to to quit it with the formal language! Besides, I don't know all those fancy big words you're using! What does 'pick wing' mean?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:31 pm

Almost inaudibly he whimpered when he felt the smack across the back of his head. It didn't hurt but...well it made him wince anyway. As he scratched his head soon after, as though easing a phantom pain, his right eyebrow arched up as she asked him about a word he had never heard.

"Piquing? (Peeking) It just means...like to spark. Piquing your curiosity is the same as intriguing you. I guess I could have said that instead." Trying to laugh, the melodious echoes of his voice reached his own ears only to tell him that he was acting right stupid and should stop carrying on the way he was.

"Sorry about the language. It's habit I guess with people I don't know."

"Ohhh. Well, nice to know that I know I'm learning something everyday."

She thought it was cute, the way Kenta acted, Like a little embarrassed kid. Ichi didn't know what to talk about next, so she let her mind speak out.

"I have a feeling I'll see you around here more. Since you're new here, I'll be your new best friend, Okay? You can now call me..."

Ichi paused, crossing her arms and looking down at her kicking feet as she thought. Her ears perked and she uncrossed her arms, pointing her finger straight up into the air, then at Kenta, and then at herself.

"Nee-chan! Since I have a feeling I'm older than you, and I've never had anyone call me that before! Is that okay with you?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:45 pm

Could she make this any more awkward? He wondered to himself how bad a thing it would be to just tell her the truth and avoid this unpleasant turn of events. Now not only was he nervous, but stiff again. His ears could have torn themselves from his head and ascended to the ceiling he was so on edge. To make matters worse, he knew his eyes had definitely widened when she mentioned calling her nee chan. Why nee chan?

"Uhm...I think Ichi would be just fine don't you? I really like that name!" He smiled as calmly as he could, which was actually quite casual considering the nature of this conversation and his mood just a few seconds ago. "That is...I already have two sisters that I call nee chan and it would be very difficult for me if they found out."

By difficult, he meant when he went back they would tease him for calling his own mother his sister, assuming they actually ever found out.

Ichi crossed her arms and assumed the cute pouty face she hasn't used in a while.

"Aww! Why not?!"

Ichi didn't really want to listen to him, but she had to, even if he did ruin her fun. She still wondered why it was so uncomfortable for him to call her nee-chan. His face did look funny when Ichi said that. She sighed and uncrossed her arms, still not looking at him.

"Fine, fine."

Ichi jumped off the counter, picking up her orange juice and taking even more gulps than she did last. She moved the carton away from her mouth, and tapped the top end repeatedly against Kenta's forehead.

"You're no fun, you know that?"
