Fig knew he was running a little late, he knew! But what was a fey to do when deciding on how to dress?! It was freezing out, but the festival activities were to take place indoors so he likely wouldn't be needing to travel about as though he was going to tackle traversing the tundra. Still, he had to get there! Thankfully, he figured out something to work out and made it out the door. Besides, there was someone waiting for him at the festival! Upon arriving, Fig paused inside the doorway, drinking in the hustle and bustle about the festival celebrating love in all forms. How wonderful! There were flowers about as well, a fine thing to find. Taking a moment to talk to one of folks ferrying around bundles of single roses and full bouquets roses. Turns out they were enchanted to never wilt. Fantastic! Opting for a full bouquet, Fig thanked the vendor before proceeding to pick his way through the crowd. He had a certain imp lass to find. Where was she? Ah, there she was. Spotting a familiar head of curly pink hair, Fig carefully wove his way through the crowd to lessen the distance between. Coming to within an arm's length, the fey man clasped his hands behind his back, bouquet in hand. "Cam, I'm pleased to see you've made it. Sorry if I kept you waiting. Were you here long?"

Perle had come along with their mother, who fortunately didn't have to actually work the festival, something about family leave, which was cool and gave the dryad a little happy shiver at the thought. Their adoptive mom was being given time off to spend with them, like any other blood family would. Sure, they missed their friends from the orphanage, but their mom helped keep them in touch by bringing letters or pictures to and fro should she find herself at way through work. And now, here they were, rather bundled up and attending the Hunter's Jubilee, which was blessedly indoors. While their mom paused to chat with one of the book peddling people, Perle's eye was caught by a passing tray of numerous pretty stones. The youngster gasped and flagged the holder of the tray down. "Um, excuse me, would it be alright if I could have one of those, please?" There were other folks walking around with some, so it couldn't hurt to ask! An affirmation drew a bright smile to the young dryad's features. "Oh, thank you! I think I would like," They paused to look over each variant of stone there was available. "This one, please," They said while pointing out a pretty little chunk of rhodochrosite. The stone felt a little cool in their hands, but quickly warmed from being cupped in the palms of their hands.
"you GLOWED." he stated, as if it were something so very out of the ordinary. Well... to him, it was. But now he was staring at Sae even more, expecting to see another flicker of light from her, not wanting to miss the chance for another sight of it.
Thanks to this, he wasn't paying too much attention to where they were going, bumping into a few people on the way, and saying no sort of 'excuse me' or 'sorry's'. "A bed of plushies would be nice." he idly repeated, antenna bouncing at the thought. Maybe he could get rid of his bed entirely and have just plushies.... that was an idea!
With the indication for where their new destination was, he managed to tear his prying eyes away for a moment to finally take a gander at what they were headed towards. Bean bag toss... ok. Guiding her on over, pausing as the locket was picked up, he smiled nice and big, "Hey it's a pretty purple, like you." he pointed out, poking at the jem part of the locket. Oh but right ,bean bag toss....
When they got there, a very overly friendly older Nightmare was manning the station. She crouched down to get to the freshlings eye level, cooing and baby-talking to them like they were infants. Husk stared at her blankly, not responding, even as she noticed the locket Sae was now wearing.
'Oh! I have a spare one of those. Here, now you two can match!' she chimed oh so chipper and happy like, slipping the necklace over Husk's head. Staring down at it, the little fey switched to smiling brilliantly at Sae, holding it up for her to see better, "Look, Sae. Now we match." afterwards, he giggled a little, bopping his head a little side to side excitedly. Stopping abruptly he straightened, "Oh, bean bags."
He'd completely been ignoring the lady, even stepping around her to guide Sae to the proper placement of the game.

The little Litch happily squeezed the plush, toying a little with the tiny tongue that was sticking out on it. So cute~ And now he had a new companion, as well! He bent to help the coatl climb up his arm, and lay along his shoulders, giggling at the ticklish sensation of those little feathered ears. Oh but the other freshling had a point... this festival was all about giving. A finger placed to his bottom lip in thought, as he stared at the very useful backpack the other youth sported.
"Ah, I am Nereus~" he replied in that usual whimsical tone of his, swaying a little side to side, "Let me get you something, Sarren~" cheeks raising more again in a delighted little smile, he glid to a nearby booth, reaching in one of the boxes near it to pull out a plushie too. Quite pleased with how adorable it was, he casually made his way back to Sarren, holding the fox out to him, "Here you go~ Now we've both given each other something!" he felt quite proud!

giving to Sarren!
Farid had been extremely nervous with his new transfer to this unknown land. He wasn't used to doing things on his own, or being on his own, for that matter. But his parents had faith in him, and had told him what a big boi he was being by going to the foreign school. His assigned caretaker had showed him to the festival that was going on, being very warm and welcoming. But it did little to help quell the stressed babbins nerves. Sliding along hesitantly as they entered the large room, his lips pressed firmly, and his tiny hands gripped to bottom of his sweater.
He could do this... it was ok... he could do this!
As he slunk along after the older Nightmare showing him in, he got instantly distracted when he spotted a little coatl slinking up to him. Perking up, he gave a delighted giggle, and scooped up the slinking serpent, squeezing it to him gently. Something he recognized and knew well! "You'll keep me company, won't you?" he hummed blissfully, snuggling with the snake who flickered its tongue back at him.
But moments later, he felt his balanced weight suddenly shift out of his own control, making him yelp, and fall forward, face first to the ground. His tail had been yanked! or stepped on??? causing his tumble. Luckily, the coatl had slithered around the hybrids neck for safety, peering back along with the freshling to see what the cause was. Eyes meeting what looked like another his own age, tears started to bud on his lower lids, mouth quivering, "w-...wh...at did....yo-you do that...f-for...?" he stammered, voice trembling lightly as the tears started to swell and spill over.

"Oh! Hello!" Galan murmured in a soft and rapid rush of breath. He stepped with her out of the queue and blinked as she mentioned their taste. At first he thought she might be referring to their similar tones, which seemed a strange thing to comment on to a perfect stranger. His baffled expression and awkward silence must have made it clear he was at a loss because she flipped open her satchel and revealed the matching plushie.
All at once, dawning understanding cause his expression to light up and he laughed softly, wiggling his in response, its downy wings aflutter. "Yes! The very same!" At her follow-up question he blinked again, looking around. "Are they meant to be gifts? I just bought one for myself... I hadn't realized..." He screwed up his face, thinking through the few individuals he'd met in his short tenure in Below. Did he have any friends to speak of? He scanned through the faces of portraits he'd painted and classmates he'd sat beside, and none of them warmed his heart under the banner of 'friend'. And then, all of a sudden, coming unbidden from the murky depths came an unbidden and irrepressible laughing face.
Galan broke out in a fresh smile. "I suppose I ought to fetch a gift too," he informed the kindly Chimera, grateful for the service she'd done him. How embarrassing if he were the sole student to not understand the rules of this ball!
Looking around, he caught sight of the booth next door and saw some bracelets glittering in the celebratory light.
"What do you think?" He pointed to the row hanging from the awning. "Would that be an appropriate gift for a friend?"
Oh it was on if Wayne wanted to be witty and sarcastic back...this was all out war for all they were concerned. After all, they had just met the imp! If maybe the two of them would have been closer, maybe Lilo wouldn't want to try and out wit him. "Oh man, you got me. This is definitely my seeing eye wisp. I'm secretly blind, that's why I wear my bangs this long! Oh woe is me!" They snickered slightly. What a simpleton! To think something like that would bother them, ah children, they were so simple. Even though they were a child themself.
Out of the corner of their eye they noticed another nezubat plush on the table next to the two of them. Lilo motioned for the wisp to come closer, when it did they babbeled incoherently, just trying to raise confusion in the imp. When the wisp backed away Lilo walked over and grabbed the nezubat plush. "Oh. Hi. I'm Wayne. I like stuffed animals~" Lilo mocked as they held the plush on top of their head and swayed back and forth.

As Freddy weaved with Nef through the crowd he resolved to work harder on his ability to fade. It would have come mightily in handy when getting through a crowd. He placed it on his mental list of things to do, right below practicing his stretching.
When Nef suddenly paused he looked to see what had caught her attention, then grinned. This looked like it could be loads of fun! "Good luck Nef," he cheered as the Bakeneko stepped forward to toss some rings. He applauded enthusiastically when she made the first throw; the clink of glass was as satisfying as the dull thud of bean bags, and he wondered he if should give this throwing game a shot himself when Nef was done.
He bite his lip when Nef missed her second throw. "You got this Nef," he called encouragingly as she prepared for her final throw. The sound of a solid hit caused Freddy to cheer. The man who handed Nef the rings took down a sealpup plushie at Nef's prompting. He laughed a bit when Nef put it on his head, and reached up to hold onto the flippers and keep it in place. "You got yourself a deal," he agreed happily.
The sound of another voice caused him to turn. Another Bakeneko was approaching them. Most of their attention seemed to be on Nef, but it didn't bother Freddy in the slightly. "Hey there," he cheerfully greeted the other. "You should totally let Nef play for you. She's got awesome aim!"

One of the main reasons he had come to this party (aside from wanting to spend time with Matty that wasn't at the apartment) was to make up for the disgraceful attempt to win his roomie a plush at the last game at Winter Solstice. But he couldn't do that if Matty wasn't there to see it. Well, he could, but it only counted if Matty was there to see it. Still, at least he could win him a plushie. He tried his hand at the first game he came across, a dart game. When all three of his darts popped balloons, he grinned and picked out a pink plush just for Matty.

Darrah shared the last of his brownies with his new Coatl as she loosely wrapped herself around his neck and rested on his shoulder. A couple minutes later, a game drew his interest. The object was to build towers with those conversation hearts and the person with the highest tower at the end of the time won a plushie. Darrah smirked; he was confident that he could do this, easy. Setting his plushies on the floor by the last empty chair, Darrh climbed up and waited for the go before carefully building a tower of hearts. Thirty seconds later, Darrah walked away with yet another plushie under his arm.

Bibiana just couldn't seem to stop cuddling her new vespercat. He was just too cute! Not that he seemed to mind at all, there was a constant purr rumbling from him as he nuzzled his head against hers. She giggled happily as she carried him around, looking at all the tables and games that were available. She stopped at a table that had several multi-colored stones on it. "Ohh, these are so pretty!" she gushed to the vendor. There were two different pink ones that really called to her, but she couldn't decide between them. In the end, she closed her eyes and picked one and paid for it. "Thank you!"
The next game Nasrin came upon was kind of cute, in his opinion. There was a giant heart shaped landing pad on the floor, and a group of kids were tossing paper airplanes at it to see who could get closest to the center. Nasrin walked up in time to join the next group of players. He concentrated hard on the center of the heart, his tongue peeking out one side of his mouth as he aimed. After a moment he let go and somehow managed to land his plane, or "love bird", right on top of someone else's! They were both the closest to the center though, so they both got prizes.
The hybrid nodded her horned head, saying, "That sounds fun." She'd never admit it, but Raleka really had a soft spot for the cuddly toys. The hybrid had collected perhaps hundreds of them when she was little, but her mother had made her donate them before she left for university. She'd also never admit it, but she thought the plushies Morginn had crafted were really cute.
She watched as Morginn took the rose, and like flowing water, stooped into a formal bow and presented her the enchanted flower. It all happened so fast, it may as well have been rehearsed. Her face lit up like a furnace as she accepted the rose and brought it close to her chest. Raleka's lips quirked up, just the tiniest bit, as she thought about how sweet and genuine the gesture was.
"Thank you," she said to Morginn, her face still flushed. Raleka still wasn't sure if she completely appreciated the overly friendly behavior of this pair, but it was certainly making her feel more welcome and accepted. Most Nightmares would have noted her standoffish behavior and left the first chance they had. "Would you like to, uh, go look at that plush booth now?"

Eeeeee thank you! That's so sweet of you!!!! heartheartheart
Well it was good to see that neither Female was actually hurt. It looked more like mai had taken most of the brunt of their collision and other than his sister being terribly embarrassed she didn’t seem to be too hurt. Festivals it always seemed where destined to be crazy. He had heard about the last one about how people had gotten throw happy. Somehow he had a feeling this one was going to be about the same. “Well I’m glad no serious damage was done. I agree that these festivals definitely get crowded especially since as of late we seem to be having them around the time that some new race seems to be visiting.” Vanna commented. After all first it had been the day dreams and now the neko and naga…. He wasn’t surprised that more people weren’t bumping into each other. Of course he spoke a bit too soon and he had to let out a small wince as a flying plushie hit him in the back of the head. Hmm well he did have to give them points. Maybe he could go home and tell Yami he was almost assassinated by plushies today. Yami was sure to make an awesome face.
Mai stared at the ground to keep from blushing although she definitely failed in that respect. Ah she should have totally watched where she was going. First impressions where important, or at least she had come to notice they were often important and setting yourself up as clumsy or unobservant was a mess. Plus she had disrupted whatever the nice lady was doing… However she did take both her brother and Mytrax’s hand when she stood up. She dusted off the bottom of her skirt not noticing that someone had taken pity on the girl and slipped a rose in her bag. “I’m soo sorry about that. I’m glad you’re okay” Mai replied. Oh that was right. Her fellow Chimera had asked if she was okay. Well nothing was bruised physically at least. “I-I’m okay. Thank you for asking”

Leto was at least happy that he was making a good impression on Sprinkles if the protective growl was anything to go by but he also didn’t want to cause Jaden trouble. Chani was already being a handful and he needed to convince her to let him pick her up soon or she was going to trip him… that or rip up his plushies. She was already trying to go for his pocket to get to the first plushie. Deciding to take the life of his sweater into his hands he scooped up the very much protesting vespercat… ah Anubis had never been this much trouble at home.
Of course right as Leto agreed that they needed to get inside especially since he was already hit twice, another plushie hit him on the forehead. His lower lip wibbled a bit as a result. Luckily he kept his hold on Chani this time… but there was no calming the now constantly hissing verspercat… ah he really needed to get inside. Why where they throwing things at him… there had to be another pitiful looking freshling that needed plushies around. Still he grabbed that one, barely noticing Spice landing back on his head.

Percy stood upright, a more subdued but still charming smile fixed on his lips. He sure knew how to pick them out. The two had been quick to greet him and offer to win him prizes. My, this event was shaping up to be quite nice already! Before the night was out Percy very well might walk away with a arm full of goods won for him and friends to make the memories last.
"I am sure my lady has quite a throw. I would endeavor to win you a gift to celebrate our meeting in return, a token of friendship?"
After Freddie and Nef both introduced themselves, the cat bowed once more. "My name is Percy! The pleasure is all mine! I am happy to have met you both, even if we are only together for a fleeting moment in time!" he straightened out and glanced at the game, his little paw-hand resting on his chest, left gently resting there from when he had bowed.
Percy pursed his lips gently, just enough to look like a slight pout. "Hmmn, what would please the both of you, I wonder ... ?"
Jaden managed to make it to the safety of the building without getting attacked by any more flying plushies, though from the commotion he head behind him Leto hadn't been so lucky. He turned to look (though he kept walking, to keep Sprinkles occupied), and saw his friend stooping down to pick up a pink nezubat plushie while clutching a livid Chani. Finally they were able to catch up, and everyone was inside.
"Thank goodness! Let's head back to the room before people get it in their head to throw plushies by hand inside. Maybe we should try to leave our familiars in the room, just in case," he added as they started through the halls of the Academy.

Smolder looked rather disheartened. His shoulders sagged, his mouth was turned in to a frown, and his vibrant blue eyes looked dull and sad as Cassie suggested buying him a leash. He knew she meant it all in good fun -- well, and seriously too. But he preferred to think it was the former.
Aten's anger made him feel terrible, but there wasn't anything he could do about it at the moment.
To reassure Anubis, Smolder reached out to pat his head gently. He felt bad. He should have been paying more attention to him, but Rhys was just. So. Much to handle. He was starting to mellow out a little now that he was aging, but he was still a handful.
"Sorry, kiddo ... " Smolder offered a somewhat defeated smile. "You know dad didn't mean nothin' by it."
Aten gave Smolder a rather disappointed look before taking Cassie's hand in his and holding it, quietly observing Smolder's interactions with the children, like a hawk watching over his young.
Rhys was too busy being pleased that his mom liked the ring. Rhys was hopping up and down, still clapping his hands and occasionally running on the spot that he was able to successfully surprise and give his mom something nice.
Meanwhile, Raa glanced over the plushies with a happy little smile. Sure, his family was quirky and weird, but he knew he was home when his whole family was together.
"Should we try and get Rhys something too?" Raa asked quietly, glancing between his siblings. Rhys could be a bit of a brute to them sometimes, but he knew Rhys didn't mean it. He just had those claws that were so sharp, and when they'd horse play with their brother things could get a little scratchy.Cuts happened, but the triplets just didn't have the same sharp nails as he did. So nobody ever blamed him when it happened ...
"What should we get him?"

Had Burvia done something wrong? Rae seemed unusually nervous and the girl was stammering out of control. Had she intruded? Was Rae ... trying to pick her up.
She had been about to find some reason to excuse herself as swiftly as she had come between the two. She had felt so embarrassed, especially if Rae was trying to flirt with the girl. Had Burvia been misreading all of Esrael's signals? Had their date nights meant nothing ... ?
Burvia opened her mouth slowly to say something as Esrael took the ring, but when he handed her the locket her eyes glossed over. She reached her hands out to accept the locket, dainty in her hands, the metal cool as she smiled sweetly at the gesture. Her heart felt warm, and her fingers were tingling from how good the gesture made her feel. Then Esrael told her what he had planned -- to put a picture of both Esrael and Joseth in the locket, and her heart slammed against her chest, making her light headed and weak in the knees.
Maybe she hadn't been misreading his signals at all ... maybe there was something there after all.
"Oh ... Esrael ... " her tone was oddly soft. More quiet, more young sounding. And once again she felt like a freshling, clutching the locket between her hands and brought her clasped hands to her lips, smiling behind her hands.
"Thank you ... " she whispered in a hush, moving to put the locket on immediately. She would never take it off ...
Burvia turned her attention to the other girl, as if she hadn't just had that moment with Esrael. "I'm so sorry if I came off as a bit domineering!" she apologized. "It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Burvia, but you know that already by now from Esrael's stammering~!"
