The bale of hay was a bit lighter than the keg but not as light as the chicken it also didn’t attract a chicken and cadence was able to avoid the monsters and safely make it to the bridge.

Oh great. She forgot she had to toss the thing onto the bridge, she glanced at the man who picked up a keg with his muscular arms and threw the whole thing down the bridge. If male creatures had good merit, it would be their brutal strength. The lady dressed like a male dark elf thought and decided it wasn't workable on her case, so she kicked the barrel downslope instead.
It was rolled down in a straight line towards the bridge, but a small rock and a bounce made it veered into the river.

This wasn't his best day. Another creature managed to rush in and slash at him, and Neithan began to consider it a miracle he still had his limbs attached to his body. Dropping the keg, it shattered over both himself and the creature before he managed to run it through... and then go back to searching for anything heavy enough to use on the bridge.

Her armor attracted another chicken, she wondered are those chickens wild animal or there was a farm nearby. She was rather surprised they were still alive with the assault of the Darkness and the minor encouragement gave her hope of they could defeat the shadows and protect their lands.

The monsters wanted to eat chicken meat gathered around her, the secret animal lover glared at them and shot millions of sharp arrows at them. "Don't you dare." She felt her head heavier as she ran towards the drop zone. On top of the chicken, another felt it was a perfect place to land and perched on top of the original chicken.
Yu felt awkward for the situation and those flying chickens.

Chicken was probably a good thing to toss down the bridge, despite the fact they are not lifeless objects. They were light and easy to carry for a distance without worrying they would be dropped in monster attack.
"Go little things, let me see your potential powers inside your small bodies." Yu pointed at the bridge, took the chickens down her head to pet before dropping them down to the bridge. The chickens flew down and landed on the bridge, then they started their ritual dances and kicked the objects already on the bridge as if they were on rampage. Feathers were everywhere as they crowed happily on the bridge with their comrades.
