Zig also looked at Kel's forearm with concern. She didn't voice her question since Taun had already asked it. Instead she waited for the smith's reply while keeping one eye on the fight in the courtyard.

As the pain finally relieved, Kel released his arm. He sighed then looked up at Taun. "It's nothing. I'll be okay." He nodded once, then stood up slowly to look back toward the conflict. He leaned against the wall with his left arm and looked down upon his right hand as he received a garbled voice in his head. "Must be the outpour of energy from that sword." He turned and looked out of the gate in the general direction from where he heard the voice. Having spotted the group of two women, the wolf, and the knight he responded telepathically to the one looking in his direction. I'm ok, don't worry about me.

Tala's brow furrowed, unconvinced. She nodded anyway. Alright. Don't overexert yourself.

A ball of dark energy hit the shield suddenly and Tala cried out in surprise. It actually... hurt. Hurt? It shouldn't have hurt her. It dawned on her that because it was dark magic, it pained her because she was filled with light.

Shaking her head to clear her clouded vision, she checked to see that the shield hadn't been affected. It hadn't. The hit itself had felt nothing more than a smack to the face; she just hoped that it wouldn't happen again.

"Tala? Are you alright?" Because she wasn't actually connected to the shield, just to Tala, Valkyrie hadn't felt anything. But she had heard Tala cry out, and she was worried about her.

((Love the way your avvie looks pickle 3nodding ))

"Yes, I'm alright. The darkness just... stung me that's all. I don't know how to describe the feeling."

Tala smiled at Valkyrie. "Thank you for asking though, I appreciate it." She meant it, too.

((Thanks! Its all green. It makes me happy. ^^))
Valkyrie nodded. "I'm glad you're okay, but if this fight doesn't stop soon, we might have to follow the others out of here. I hate to say it, but I don't think we can hold up this shield much longer."

(( ^^ ))

Tala sighed. "You're probably right. I just don't want to leave the King in case something goes horribly wrong. True, he is stronger than the reaper but things happen."

"I know what you mean." Valkyrie sighed. "I guess we're stuck here until the end, then."

Zig was relieved to hear that Kel was alright. After all, he'd been hurt helping her and Taun get away. "That's good to hear," she said quietly when Kel looked back toward the battle. She also turned to look and noticed the girl watching them. "Wonder who she is," thought Zig before she realized she still had Taun's sword. She tucked her dagger into it sheath and proffered the weapon toward the water elementalist. "Here's your sword," she said to him.

Taun was surprised when Zig held out his sword to him. He had been focusing on the fight after Kel had answered. "Thanks Zig," he said as he took the sword from the small girl. "I wonder if that girl with the wolf is all right."

Tala nodded. This battle needs to be over quickly, and without the King getting hurt, she thought to herself. Otherwise the reaper will seize the throne and all of the kingdoms are at risk for whatever evil he is up to.

"So the weather's nice," Tala said aloud, sarcasm dripping from her voice. It made her smile though.

Valkyrie grinned, glad for the humor. "Indeed. Perfect for a fight to the death. Maybe after this we can have a picnic."

"It shall be a grand picnic at that." Tala snickered to herself. She pushed the loose strands of hair that had escaped her bun out of her face and wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Not a cloud in the sky."

"humph... Speaking of clouds... I threw that sword pretty high, but in one form or another it should be on it's way down by now. Once that happens the lightning should start hitting the ground again." Kel looked up at the sky for a moment watching for the weapon he had thrown straight up. he then looked at his right hand one more time. This scar... And dark energy... I guess it makes sense since it was under similar conditions that I got this scar in the first place. Either way I should keep my distance for now.

"No problem," she told Taun, but her attention was mostly focused on Kel's upward gaze. What was up there that he was looking for? Had he thrown something to stop the lightning? She had noticed that the long bright streaks were no longer crashing down in the courtyard, but was that going to last or not?
