You are condescending and prejudiced. You cannot let go of the past. Instead of letting past problems sort themselves out, you dig it up as you have shown here. Also, two things: First, you meant feminism, seeing as I said you weren't a feminist ally, and you replied by saying you had issues with feminism. You bringing up radical feminism for absolutely no reason is not particularly believable. Second, I don't believe for one second you actually have a working knowledge of what radical feminism is, so any "critique" you might have of it is probably just empty "Boohoo, they hate the menz."
Radical feminism has many branches within feminism. Most of them are founded upon bitterness and contempt towards men as well as society. It views women as under a patriarchy. Let's just say that I tend to have certain problems with identity politics since it turns problems and grievances into abstractions. That is what radical feminism had done to a large part of the feminist movement by hijacking it back in the 1960's-1970's. Sadly, I rarely see feminists from the other feminist schools attack radical feminism's weaknesses. I wish that the other schools would speak up about it more.I realize what you said. Also, it appears to me that you're grouping pretty much the whole of feminism under radical feminism when radical feminists are a minority within the group. Thus--again--proving that your issue is with feminism in general and not just a few "extremists." Also, also, your bullshit point about how we're "founded on bitterness" files right under what I said you'd say. Your dislike of feminism basically boils down to you thinking they hate men. Now, let me explain to you one of the main differences between general feminism and radical feminism: Feminists fight for equality between the sexes (something you clearly have an issue with). Radical feminists seek to take down the system that causes the inequality in the first place. There you go.
I'm not even surprised that you said that you are a radical feminist.
Feminism 101 teaches that men and women are equal; thus women should have equality with men. This, I agree with.
Within the various schools of feminism, there is little agreement of what "the patriarchy" is. In some schools, they say that there's no patriarchy while some other schools say that there is a patriarchy. My eyes are opened and let's just say that I've learned new perspectives. Your ad hominems are rendered invalid at this point.
I'm not even grouping anyone. I'm just saying that it is rare for other schools of feminism to condemn the weaknesses of radical feminism. Let's face it, radical feminism is not perfect and it has weaknesses. Denying the existence of the weaknesses in radical feminism would not make the weaknesses disappear.
I am talking about how most schools of radical feminism are founded upon contempt and/or bitterness. Sadly, it is the rule for radical feminism and not the exception.
Feminism was founded upon the quest for equality, justice and recognition. On a related note, justice and equality are antonyms since justice means to give one what is due. Saying that justice and equality are the same is highly problematic due to the definitions of those two words.
I do not have an issue about equality between the genders. I have an issue with trying to make both genders the same. Why? Because men are women are not the same. Yes, both men and women are human but men and women have their differences. Denying their differences is not equality. It's sameness because it does not respect nor even recognize the differences between men and women.
Here's my question. Suppose the system making the inequality (the patriarchy) is gone. What would it be replaced with exactly? A matriarchy would be out of the question since men's rights opposes it strongly if not stronger than how some non-radical schools of feminism oppose the patriarchy.
On a final note, let's just end this wordwar here. Why? Because it's not good for this game. If you want to continue this, please send me a PM instead of continuing it here in this game.
