( I must sleep now. xD I'm wiped out, and I can barely keep my eyes open. *Waves.* I'll see y'all later, alright? Baai'! )

He caught up with her quickly due to extra long strides. Luic stepped right in front of her, gently took the key and bent down to place a kiss on each of her cheek's. Even though he had been with English speaking people for over a cnetury, and even though he had lost his accent when speaking Enlgish, his French ways had never left him.

"Au revoir, Ikue!"

Luic gave one of her hands a light squeeze before whipping around and marching off down the hall to find his bedroom. As soon as he had found it, he unlocked the door and slipped inside. The only thing that met him at the door was the darkness as he slid down to the floor. Like normal, it would be the only thing he saw for the remainder of his sleep.

(( -stabs gaia with a pork chop- YOU ATE MY POST!! ))

-Mimi stepped up to her sister's side with a sigh, that delicate profile tilting itself toward the skies in a semi-reluctant fashion. Things didn't come easy for Mimi...they never had. The simplest task for her kind proved difficult and since she'd denied herself for so long it was twice as hard.

She had to stand still for a moment, eyes shut, almost afraid to breathe. It was the same stance she had used within the catacombs at Hakan's side when she had released her Ojas in search of Duellist. It was a similar concept, only different... It took a while, perhaps a little too long, for the air to stop being air.

At first the scent of wild roses, unique in its own fashion, wafted to her nose from the west-- Duellist's garden. From the East it was different--several scents filled her at once, almost driving her a little crazy. First it had been the stench of decay that floated up from the Mansion, accompanied by the dull scent of death. The third, however, made her ear twitch as if swatting a fly and those brows furrow.- Werewolves?

-She asked in constrained surprise, her eyes opening at last. Those narrow pupils seemed to vanish altogether amid the deep violet of her gaze. What had Mimi gotten herself into? It was one thing to hunt a rabbit, another a fellow lycanthrope, especially a lupine!!

It would be difficult-- werewolves and werecats were neck to neck in most things, if the cat not a bit more graceful and quicker. The wolves had more strength-- and both were known for their ferocity. At least when it came to Ryoko and Kyaroru's particular pride, that is. Bagheera of the Dark Moon, or more simply known amongst other lycanthropes as The Cursed Pride-- most viscious Pride of wereleopards in existence that could even leave the Pumonga's bloodlust in the wind.

It would be two against one-- hopefully. Unlike cats, wolves tended to hunt in packs. Was Ryoko trying to test her?

Mimi wanted to turn around and call the deal off even though it would most certainly sign her death sentence. In the end, she simply resigned to the fact that it was to be done.

And perhaps it was the darker, usually dormant part of her that made her laugh a little. Ah, the irony, the dog hunted by the cat.-

(( I'm about to go to bed, too.. It's nearly 4 in the morning. e_e ))

After the French man had kissed her on both cheeks, he walked away with an 'Au revoir!' "Au revoir, mon--sour..? I think.." Ikue decided to take the stairs this time, heading for the stairway. She was back inside the lobby, and seeing Cherry there, the medium smiled and waved over to her.

"Hey, Cerise. Mimi asked me to watch the front desk while she was out.." Ikue then made her way over to the desk, stepped behind it, and plopped down into a chair. She was quite tired, so she placed her forearms onto the desk in front of her, placing her head down upon them. Within a few moments, she fell asleep.

Ryoko grinned, angel's face and devil's smile.

"Why not?" she asked. "A little challenge always makes it interesting."

Besides, as far as she was concerned, they were only dogs.

"Are you ready, Kyaroru?"

Perhaps she should have left her hair up. Down, the long strands falling about her shoulders softened her usually cold features to the point that the ruthless anticipation of blood that burned in her green eyes seemed incongruous. The violence of them was frighteningly warped and out of place in the otherwise unearthly flawlessness of the werecat's counternance. The contrast only deepened as her left hand slowly flowed and extended into her steely feline claws, gleaming sharp and deadly in the brilliant air. Waiting for blood.

{It's 1:00 am! And I haveta wake up early, so I can watch Pokemon! Why? Because I like yelling at the TV.}

Cerise had circled the lobby twice but found no broom closet. Thus, she was safely situated on top of the front desk once more, quietly giggling at Ikue.

Seeing as she wasn't tired (sleeping not being one of her strong points), Cerise remained on the desk. It was probably a good idea that someone who was actually awake be there... Then again, she probably wouldn't be the best of help on giving directions of any sort... At least she could smile at people entering the lobby!

-Violet orbs dropped in time to see the her sister's hand deform into the shape of what the Pride often referred to "Monkey Child's Claw", where the fingertips became elongated and disfigured, bone, nail and magick rolling into one. They were nothing to the beautiful demonic hands of Hakan's nor his gorgeous, insanely sharp nails. In comparison, his could be called talons.

Instantly she bit back on her tongue, the muscles of her jaw jumping as she fought back the need to scream.. that deep burning desire to open her mouth and let out the pain as her own hands became deformed. Bone broke, muscle ripped, tendons tore, flesh stretched only to be rebuilt in again in a new shape.. new abilities.

It was a step foward into the darkness, two away from her morals.

Ryoko's eyes shone with cruelty and bloodlust, whilst her own were clouded with misery and shame.

There was no going back now.- Indeed Ryoko.

With a delighted little laugh, the werecat plunged forward at a pace that quickly grew unnervingly fast. Moving with a lazy grace, she headed off in the direction of the scent, covering ground at a breakneck rate. As she moved closer to the vicinity of their targets however, she slowed to a smoother, more silent padding stride, stepping lightly in and out of shadows.

Their target appeared to be a single werewolf in full canine form, currently involved in feeding off the torn corpse of some unlucky tourist.

Ryoko, now actively and carefully stalking her prey a few feet away, kept her eyes focused on the werewolf's every move. She had chosen this prey in the way of all predators; he was weak and easy game. A large slash made by a silver knife stood out against his shoulder, and every so often he would whine, dip his head, and lick at it before turning back to his food. His prey evidently had not gone down as easily as he would have liked.

The werecat grinned evilly and glanced over to her sister, jerking a claw with delicate care to the left, indicating Kyaroru was to move to the left, though still carefully downwind. They'd close in on him like a vise.

-For a moment all she could see was Ryoko's silvery hair flapping in the wind like strange wings. Wallowing in misery was not going to get her anywhere, that was for sure. If anyone bothered to study the young lycanthrope's face they would have seen the struggle, the fight between morality and wild frenzy.

With a frown, and with a touch of steely glint within the purple swirls of her eyes, she too broke into a run, the feral side of her calling upon ancient abilities. For a moment it seemed like she flew, the vast distance between the sisters cut short in a matter of moments. That insane speed... it was worth admiring.

Why had she been unable to move that quickly that fateful night? Such thoughts echoed in her mind, a paralyzing fear taking over. This wasn't like her. It was as if a part of Mimi had suddenly awoken and refused to be put back into hiding. That shy, quiet and gentle young girl that everybody knew at the hotel was no longer the same.

Those features had frozen. A marble like beauty had spread across her features as soon she neared her prey. She resembled the lioness at her beauty-- a frigid elegance had taken over.

Her gaze flickered in Ryoko's direction, that inheritely feline mind of hers invoking gods long forgotten, gifts purposely ignored. With stealthy grace she stepped over rock, dirt, twigs without making a sound until all she could see was the wolf's back.

At her feet a small rabbit stirred, moving the brush in a soft rustle. Even if she had invoked the Chesire Prank ability and turned herself invisible at will it would have been pointless-- the wolf would have picked up her scent.

Before he could react, the normally shy and perpetually scared Mimi had leapt the enclosing distance of ten feet, the sharp claws of her left hand digging into the wolf's already wounded shoulder. Never before had she the confidence to move with such grace, to commit such acts...

In reality, she wasn't thinking. Instinct had taken over-- it was either do or die.

As that right hand dug into the wound inflicting further damage, her other hand pulled out the knife with ease. Almost instantly she had been thrown, felinesque reflexes allowing the girl to twist in midair in such a fashion as to land on her feet at a low crouch, right hand on the ground, left holding the blade out.

With her ears pressed against her skull and tail erect with the fur fluffed out, she hissed. Feline rage, often enough used to intimidate. The wolf howled at the moon in frustration and even commenced to retrace his steps backward, almost lulling the young girl into false sense of security.

When he leapt, she was ready only to meet him in mid-pounce, inserting the blade into his belly her free hand diging into the open wound yet again. When they parted the flesh on his shoulder had been pulled back, the white of his bone seemed to glow under the moon.

They circled each other, Mimi with her face and hands covered in her enemy's blood the other wounded, anger flickering in his eyes. -

Ryoko was surprised but delighted at her sister's initiative. She closed the other half of the vise as Mimi and the wolf circled each other, eyes glowing eagerly, moving with the typically flawless stealth of their kind until she was within a few feet of their prey. As the wolf and her sister grappled, the older werecat suddenly erupted into the air, vaulting a good ten feet upward as she made good use of their people's vaunted agility. Her claws extended outward, glowing with a faint light as she came down, invoking a specialized power native to the higher ranked cats of their Pride. Hearing the rustle of the grass from the powerful jump, the werewolf swung around just in time to have his entire torso torn open from neck to belly in a violent storm of rapidfire slashes.

Blood and fur exploded.

The wolf fell like a stone to the grass with a vaguely meaty splat, emitting a last strangled, pitifully weak cry, choked off by his own blood and collapsing throat just as he began another howl. The werecat landed in a crouch just before the fallen body, then stood up, turning to the younger Feral with delight.

Laughing softly, licking blood off her claws, Ryoko smiled proudly at her sister and gestured to their kill.

"Go on, Ky-chan," she offered. "You attacked first. It's your right."

-Mimi had remained motionless, prepared to slaughter the animal on her own. In fact, she had forgotten about Ryoko altogether up until the point where the wolf turned his back to her and seconds later her face was greeted with a warm spray of blood.

Blood, fur, viscera and bits of shredded bone landed on her body, and had it not been for sheer reflex she would have ended up blind. She had shut her eyes, turned her face and shielded herself with her arms in time. Lupine and Feral blood intermingled as bone was embedded into her forearms.

For what seemed like an eternity, she remained motionless until her sister's voice broke the silence. Clawstorm was the ability Ryoko had used for the kill, virtually turning herself into a feline paper shredder capable of churning bodies to bits....It made a terrible mess and Mimi, unfortunately, had been on the recieving end of the splatter.

As she moved the outline of her petite form was left on the trees behind her. It made her seem like a blood angel with its crimson aura spread out like that.

The look of pride on Ryoko's face made Mimi's heart shrink. Had it not been for the blood that had covered her face it would have been obvious. Her violet gaze fell on the fallen werewolf, and then on the human corpse. Lycanthropes today, humans tomorrow? The thought sickened her.

Out of respect, however, she walked over to the creature, clawed fingertips tearing at the heart. Strangely enough it had been left intact and it was left pulsating in her small palm. Lavender orbs shifted up to Ryoko's emerald gaze... to have killed without consuming was terrible, even a disgrace in her own pride. Closing her eyes she took a bite of the heart, adding insult on injury.

It was the most she could do to honor that which she had sullied... perhaps now word of this would reach Daisuke and he'd leave her alone.

The muscle tasted like bile on her tongue and it took a while to swallow.- Suddenly.. I'm not hungry anymore.

-Mimi never had been anyway. So she dropped the heart, kept the knife and walked away facing the hotel. With her back facing her sister the mask was dropped: the same misery and shame swirled in those purple pools in the shape of tears.

Tears that would never be shed in another Bagheera's presence.- I'll go clean up now... be careful.

"As you wish," Ryoko agreed willingly. "I *did* make a little bit of a mess didn't I? ...I'm sorry." She understood the feline desire for cleanliness. She grinned slightly despite the apology, however. "You did well. Beautiful aim, though next time try to work on your timing. But as I said, nicely done. When Daisuke hears of this..." She snapped bloody claws together in satisfaction.

For a moment, she watched her sister move back toward the Jekyll de Hyde before she morphed into cat form, the better to sample her kill. In a moment, all that stood there besides the dead werewolf was a large, lithe, cream leopard with brilliant jade eyes.

She thought that she'd heard a bit of a sob in Ky-chan's voice as the girl left, Ryoko reflected, as she bit into her meal. She wasn't sure how she should react. Kyaroru had agreed to their pact, had...

But perhaps it still wasn't as easy as it seemed.

Ryoko sighed quietly in her mind as she licked blood off her large, pale paws, curling her tail about her haunches. Riddle upon riddle upon riddle. Problem upon problem, misunderstanding upon misunderstanding. Would it ever end?

Her meal that night, however satisfying, was tainted with unformed regret.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 16, 2004 3:20 am

-Mimi reached her bedroom with a most somber expression on her face. She'd killed...and not only had she killed but with an emotionless attachment. No joy, noy pleasure, not even hatred. Hell, she had even taken part in the hunt without the desire to eat.

It made her feel miserable. Horrible

It had been a deseperate attempt at respect, belonging perhaps even a piece of mind. Who was to say that the plan would not backfire? Perhaps with this knowledge her family would be even more eager and intent in dragging her back to the Den-realm?

She carefully opened the door to her room as to not wake the demon boy that slept on her bed. Her Hakan, her rock... the only other person she felt willing fit to endanger the morals she so highly valued as well as step into danger without fear.

Right then and there the only thing she wanted to do was curl up at his side, perhaps even cry.

She couldn't. She was not going to wake him up.

And so she placed the bloodied silver dagger on the dresser and slipped into the bathroom, eager to remove the stench of death from her body. As she undressed, she avoided all contact with the mirror.

It wasn't long before the courtain was pulled as she lost herself beneath the pressure of the hot water.-
