((I'd be happy to join you. But if you decide to, could you hold for a half hour or so? I have to mow the yard. XD))

Valin Lobel was seated comfortably on one of the seats in the Main Room of Club Orion at one of the four tables inside the place. He was tinkering away with a Jedi Holocron - an ancient information bank of the Jedi Order of old. Roughly 4,000 years old this particular was made a few years after the Jedi Civil War that had fractured the galaxy when the rogue Jedi Revan and Malak declared war on the Republic and the Jedi Order.

He wasn't paying too much attention to it as it spoke, he was mostly cleaning it and refurbishing it. The metals were old but this machine still worked beautifully - a testament to the work of the Jedi Masters who created it and to the care taken by those who followed.

Enjoying her outfit from the night before so much, Red had cleaned it and put it back on for today. Perhaps she should have put a day or so between re-wearing it, but she didn't really care. Wrapping her gloved fingers around the handle of the club doors, she pushed herself through and immediately her nose caught the scent of the Jedi, Valin, who was just the person she wanted to see.

She was still a bit upset with him, for no real reason whatsoever, but her run in with Rutum made her wonder exactly why he lectured her the way he did. It didn't seem in the least bit irrational to want a few answers. Being her state of mind, her tail snapped in determination as she made a straight path for the table he was sitting at.

Taking a brief moment, she sat down and gazed at him blankly, getting the feeling that he wasn't really doing anything important. It was perhaps just her being polite. Not too polite however.

"Tell me what happened during the war."

Undetered by Red's sudden appearance and equally sudden question, Valin tinkered on anyway. He didn't look at Red - he was busy. And what was with the sudden interest in him? He could barely get two words out of her most of the time - today he got seven already. Women were confusing on a normal basis but Red was sometimes her own happy little brand of confusing. She should market it. Would make millions on the sorrow of men everywhere.

He didn't miss a beat to her question, "Bad things. Things I kinda don't want to to talk about," He said trying to not sound like a jerk about it. He was just entirely uncomfortable with the subject. Didn't know what was the sudden interest was anyway, "Why do you want to know?"

"Because you haven't told me yet." She could be as vague as he was if she wanted. Anyone who had even heard the word 'war' could safely assumed bad things happened. Most times, veterans didn't care to bring it up either, but so the hell what? Today wasn't one of those days where she would choose to respect his privacy and nothing short of freezing her in her tracks and walking away would stop her until she got what she wanted.

"People are who they are because of who they were. I know who you are, but who were you? What did you do? Why?"

Valin stopped tinkering for a moment, looking at her, "What do you mean by that?"

The Jedi was very confused at what was going on. Just what was Red looking for in all this questioning? Or was she just be a curious and overally nosey person right now, "I... I've done lots of things I'm not proud of and other things I am very proud of. Why the sudden interest in my life story?" No one here had ever asked anything about his life before Orion. And it had always seemed like Red would be the last one to actually give a damn about it.

"And I really would rather not talk about the war. Bad memories," Valin said heavily, like a great weight was on his shoulders that only he could feel.

((Want to play new character but she has little to no reason to come to the Orion yet. I guess I could play Epithany. She hasn't been around for a few days.))

She merely expressed disdain with him for the moment immediately after. It wasn't that she was against answering his question, but she felt no inclination to do so when he evaded hers so readily. He was being unnecessarily defensive in the presence of someone he himself considered a friend.

"For someone who is so in tune with this 'force' thing, you really are oblivious. Are you that afraid of it that you refuse to acknowledge that someone out for your blood has traveled across the galaxy to get back at you?" Impatience was surging through her veins now, and it was starting to piss her off, but she kept herself calm, almost sure that Rutum wanted this confrontation in the first place. At least one of them would have to remain stable.

"I'm sure the name Darth Rutum rings a bell."

Valin fubbled and dropped the priceless artifict at the mention of his former friend's new name and title. However, the Force saved it from a messy fall - the holocron cube floating several centimeters from the table. It carefully and slowly landed on the table.

"I know he is here. We... met up. Left me beat up pretty good," Valin said softly, remembering the time Valin came under attack by Yuuzhan Vong 'Slayers' - Jedi killers. He had defeated some only for his former friend Felder Dai-Kalim, now titled Darth Rutum, to slay the rest, announce his plan to destroy anything near and dear to Valin as well as conquer the galaxy, then have his Sith apprentice Darth Pyrrhus rough him up before they left.

Valin looked at Red, "There's still good in him..."

At least, that's what the Jedi wanted to believe anyway...

Her tail whipped out at him in contempt. She couldn't tell if he was still trying to be dodgy or just plain stupid. It dawned on her, what it could mean for such a presence to be here when she was speaking to him and he seemed to give a rat's a** less about the threat looming over them. To make matters worse, that wasn't even the point.

"I don't give a damn about what's in him or not. I want to know why he wants, how you know him, and what happened between the two of you! Was it the war, difference of opinions, some girl? Answer the damn question. What happened in the war?"

Her eyes were flaring now, as though a low humming glow were present on the table under her arms. She was not in the mood for games, and despite what she expected of Rutum, she couldn't possibly expect to evade his manipulative grasp unless she knew who he was and his relationship to Valin. She might just be a pawn, but she still had a role to play because of him and she wanted answers.

"Well?"
