Trixie tilted her head, the gills on the side of her face wiggling in confusion. Size? What did he mean by that? She knew she was short even by nixie standards but he didn't have to point that out. "Ooooh! A picnic sounds good! I have one or two recipes I'd like to try, um, do you have any preferred kinds of food?" There was an announcement about the blind date Caramel had mentioned and she brought out her phone. "Here's my number and details, let me know, okay?"

Of course Talfia was at the event. The Academy was running the festival, and the Chimera was a teacher at the school. It made sense for her to be there ... except. She didn't really want to be.
The chimera stood back against one of the stalls, keeping an eye out for the kids as she ground her teeth together, the sickening sound quite audible as she hung back closer to the shadows where it was less crowded.
Seeing everyone so happy and celebrating love left an empty pit in her stomach. Her marriage was falling apart, and the girl she loved she couldn't love openly. It made for a complicated mess of things. One that Talfia didn't exactly treasure, but they were the cards she had been dealt.
Maybe she would go and try to win something for the kids, just to see what happened.

Castus had his fill of the festival. He had convinced himself to go and see what all the fuss was about, but as usually, it was the same ol' same ol', just like every other Hunter's Jubilee he had ever been to. Once again he found himself sitting on the outskirts of the hum and thrum of the celebrations and was sitting perched on one of the signs up high, sipping on his flask largely out of sight. The only people who might have seen him were people taking short cuts to get to the venue, and technically going the wrong way. Up here it was quiet and pleasant. Just the way he liked it.
Percy's ears flicked subtly as he wandered the busy festival. It seemed that him and Bismae came at an intriguing time of year. So many different species he had never seen before were mingling and conversing amongst themselves. No wonder Bismae didn't care to come. This 'Hunter's Jubilee' was chaotic and hectic at best and any lesser cat would have been terrified of all the new specimens or overwhelmed by the stimuli.
Percy, however, was bold an adventerous. He had given up his comforts and finery of home, forgoing a more cushiony life where he was once considered very beautiful amongst the Bakeneko in favour of a life slight less glamorous, but filled with many new experiences, people, and environments.
"I say!" the cat declared, showing off a rather large, but charmingly fanged smile as he caught sight of a pale tabby Bakeneko, probably a lower class back home, and perked himself right up, fluffing his baby chest fluff out. "I do believe I have spotted a rather charming young lady!" Percy nearly purred as he slid his way in, though he was subtle as he approached to try and break the ice with the pale pink kitten whom had caught his eye.
"Hello, my dear!" The bakeneko bowed, awaiting the female and her geist companion to acknowledge his presence before he continued.
Freddy didn't laugh or say I told you so; he was pretty sure everyone at some point in their lives had tried to bite through a jawbreaker. You just couldn't help it! "I guess they made 'em really tough so they'd last longer. If you chewed 'em up they'd all get eaten pretty fast!" He was glad to see Nef liked the candy, even if it's durability frustrated her.
He looked surprised when a vespercat appeared, rubbing along Nef's ankles. Maybe it thought Nef was another vespercat, just bigger. He never seemed to have much luck with vespercats; maybe they just smelled nezubat on him, but they tended to either ignore him completely or bat at him like he was prey. Still, it was pretty funny that there were so many familiars around who looked exactly like the plushies!
Freddy grinned excitedly when Nef suggested games. "Yes! You've got yourself a game buddy!" Though he was a short and stocky kid (and appeared even more so next to Nef), he was the Bakeneko's equal in enthusiasm.
'Lilah's eyes were wide as the other girl steered her over to the game. No one had ever called her Delly before, and she wasn't at all used to this level of being handled. Nonetheless, the other girl seemed sincerely NICE. The gift of the prize, though, confused her even more. Was it meant as friendship? More? She didn't know! But she decided to return the favor, because she couldn't be rude! "We... well let's see how I do!" She said, and tossed a ring... She got a bottle, but it was a lower level prize she'd earned. She picked out a pretty blue bracelet, and handed it to Chessy. "I th...think it'd contrast in a nice way w...with your colors?"

Eno couldn't help himself as he smiled broadly when she said yes. "T-that makes me really happy..." He said, his own face hot with color as he suddenly looked down. "I... was worried that you... only thought of me as a friend..."
He honestly had. He'd been feeling like this for awhile, but had been content with his lot as long as he'd been able to spend time with her. "I was.. .worried someone would come along and take you away..." He added, his face growing even hotter. "I... have felt like this... for... awhile... Was too shy to tell you."
He really had been, but now he could see he had been a fool to be so. "I really, really like you... Jezebeth."
Looking around, his dour expression seemed to be directed at all the noise and festivities. "Do... you think... we could... maybe... find someplace quieter?" He said his face flushing more. "U-unless, uh... you want to stay... that is..."
Raleka nodded sheepishly at Morginn. "Yeah, I just came in from outside. It's really cold. I wouldn't mind staying in here." She glanced around, and did notice quite a few crafts tables, although most people seemed more interested in the high-energy activities. The hybrid wasn't much of a high-energy person.
Turning to the other Fey, she listened to what the other, smaller person had to say. Both of the Daydreams seemed to be very energetic, and very relinquishing of details Raleka never would have asked for. But as long as she wasn't doing the majority of the talking, the hybrid was happy. "Let's do crafts," she agreed. Then, to the lighter-colored Fey, "What's your name? I didn't catch it."
She noticed the Fey grab a toy from the basket that cavorted by, but it was too far out of reach.

The family game to another game, Candy deciding to join in this time in an attempt to get Crystallize to join in the fun again. It failed over all, but she did manage to win a plushie. Since she herself didn't need it though, the mother handed it to her son and told him that she loved him no matter what.

The game in question was a duck pond game, where you picked a duck and the number on the bottom was your prize. Phyre managed to win a bracelet, not as big as the other two prizes but she didn't mind. At least mommy had given up her prize to Crystallize.

Deciding to not play another game, he just kind of stood there and watched as his family picked ducks that won them prizes. What really got him was when his mother gave him her plushie, bringing a few happy tears to his eyes as he snuggled it ", Thank you mommy."

Out of everyone though, Larimar was the most lucky. He had managed to grab the rarest number of them all for a familiar! The familiar in question was a Fluffbug, which he was happy to now call his own.
"Oh... I'll see you later Kara," Lazarus replied as Kara went off, leaving Odessa and him alone. Had he scared the other off somehow? It seemed like it to him. The moment he got here it would seem that Kara felt off about him being here ", Does Kara not like me? I mean... she seemed to be excited when it was just you two, and then I came along at it felt like... I don't know... that she thought that she wasn't needed or didn't like me."
He looked down at the floor frowning, his coatl and flitterat trying to comfort him. To be honest he liked Odessa quite a lot, more than a friend. However, he couldn't bring himself to say it. If he had managed to scare one of Odessa's close friends away, then surely his future chances with Odessa would dwindle ", I'm sorry if I ruined the time you two planned together."

Coming across another librarian, Yihad began to find a theme with all these books. Hu had never read them. Some of which hu had never heard of. Were these books from the Above, or from a genre hu never really read? It was most likely the last one, since these all looked to be about romance. Yihad wasn't for that type of stuff, not yet anyway.

The next few tries at the games were failures, ending with Somansh leaving with nothing. It seemed that getting all these stones she wanted would be harder than she thought at first. Maybe she just had to find a game she was good at? At least she wasn't that Imp freshling who looked about ready to smash some foam cups.

How was she not winning this game by now?! It was simple! Go around in a circle until the music stopped and if you were standing on the right number you won some candy. How couldn't you at least win once out of like thirty tries? However, Jacintha decided to take in some wisdom she had gotten from her caretakers, deciding to just step away from the game and calm down. Why had that game been so hard to play? After some pacing, she finally did calm down, moving on to another game after apologizing to the nightmare running the booth for her attitude. She would have to work on that.
Still looking for a librarian, Vivek couldn't seem to find any at this current point in time. Where could they be? How was he supposed to know if his brownies were safe for his new familiars? After a bit of comforting pats and strokes to his familiars, he continued on searching for someone who could help him.

Waiting for the time when they would finally pick up their little one, Ziron continued to gather more plushies for them. This one looked really cute, and kind of matched themselves and the partner they had been paired up with for the soulstone. Surely their little one would love it!

Flowers were good gifts right? Or at least that was what Coralie thought. Surely this would be an alright gift for someone, so the nixie decided to buy a bundle. There had to be someone who would like these flowers... right? Even if no one did, she could always keep them.

"I am sure Natsumi will love that very much if you do swim with them," Aqua'glow gave the fellow teacher a soft smile. Cimara seemed to be worrying so much about being a parent, but perhaps worry would be the one thing to tear the hybrid's relationship with their new one down ", You know... maybe you should lighten up a bit and not worry so much on if you'll be a good parent. You seem like you will be a fantastic parent in my eyes, and I can tell these sorts of things. You're willing to do anything to give Natsumi a great childhood and a bright future. Also, if you ever need help with Natsumi I am always willing to help, even if they do not end up as a student of mine. Does what I am saying make sense? I'm sometimes not the best with wording things."
Seeing a stand of chocolate sweets, Aqua'glow could feel her tummy growling at her ", I'm getting sort of hungry for some sweets. Do you want to go shopping with me for a bit? My eyes are currently on that chocolate booth."
Morginn noticed Raleka looking after the basket of plushies that had gone by. It was too late to call them back and doubtless they'd run into several chances to snag another one in the future. "There's a booth set up for people who want to make plushies for others," he suggested, pulling out the two little winged jackalope plushies he had make for Hikaru and Kaoru and showing them off. He still hadn't run into either of them; he might have to hunt them down later.
A festival worker with an armful of roses suddenly went by. Most were pink, red, and white, but there were a couple other colors in the pile. Seeing him watching the worker offered Morginn a rose with a smile. Morginn took it and smiled back, then examined the rose. Blue. How appropriate. He offered the rose to Raleka with a flourishing bow, hoping it might make her smile. He wished he'd been able to grab a rose for the other Fey as well, but it would have seemed rude to just snatch them.
She could have hugged him in happiness when she heard he wanted to stick around. Nef grabbed his hand and ran off in the direction of the games, weaving in and out of the people with practiced fluency. The Neko finally came across a booth where you had to throw a ring and get them on bottles to get a prize. She halted in front of the booth, Nef knew that she could win something here!
Once again, making herself as tall as she could she stood on her tippy toes and waves her arms in the air to get the attention of the person behind the booth. "Hi there! I'd like to play a round, please!" The person behind the booth smiled and nodded, handing Nef three rings. They had said if she could get at least two around a bottle she could get a prize. So she focused, squinting her eyes and scrunching her nose, before locking on and throwing one of the rings. Bullseye! She got the first one on her mark and jumped up and down in joy. "Freddy...wish me luck!" She threw the second one and missed. Her bottom lip quivered, feeling sad at the fact that she may not be able to win something for her friend.
Nefertiti took a deep and threw her last one. It felt like an eternity as the ring glided through the air and landed dead on it's mark. "Yay! I won something! I want that one!!" She quickly pointed at the cutest plush. As it was handed to her she did her best not to squeal in happiness. Here you go, Freddy! Thanks so much for talking to me, I hope we can be the best of friends!" She giggled before setting the plush gently on top of his head. It was then that her ears perked up, she had heard something, she swore! Before she could really get a grasp on the situation another Neko slid up to them. "Hi there! My name's Nefertiti and this is my friend Freddy! Do you want a stuffed animal too? I can try to win you one!" This was the best day ever! Another friend? Yes, please!
Allumin was pondering counting all the young ones he saw about. He was pretty sure that they outnumbered the older kids. It actually amused him. All these kids running around. With their friends and the giving of gifts...something about all of this made Allumin smile. He began to walk through the carnival again. It was rather warming to see the giving of gifts...ooh! Allumin paused as he saw someone with a vesper cat familiar. Were there familiars around here somewhere? Allumin wondered what his jackalope would think if he came home with...Ooh more jackalope plushies!! Allumin paused and stared at a lovely red plushie. Allumin couldn't resist. He paid for the plushie and found his arms completely full of the plushes now. He looked down at them and gave a small laugh. "Oh boy..."
Ophrys had somehow gotten himself separated from his siblings and was wandering around the Jubilee by himself, currently. It was a huge crowd, and he didn't know how he was going to find any one in it, let alone Iris and Orchid, who were both small like him. Ophrys cuddled his plushie and saw something pink, purple, and familiar through the crowd. Big Brother Foras! The Imp hybrid took off through the crowd, not really paying attention to who he bumped into by accident. Although, someone accidentally dropped a nezubat plushie on him.
Ophrys slammed himself into Foras's leg. "Big Brother!"
Alioth walked into the Jubilee with a smile. He was here to meet up with Foras and grabbed a box of chocolates on the way in to give to the hybrid. As he walked through the crowd, he stopped and chatted with a few friends, keeping an eye out for Foras. When the Fallen finally found him, Alioth made a beeline for him.
But before he could swoop in and hug his fluffy hybrid boyfriend, a small fluffy imp freshiling ran passed him and hugged Foras instead. What on earth? Alioth blinked in confusion for a second before remembering that Foras had joined the big sibling program. This must be the little Freshling that had been assigned to the Hybrid.
