Quinn Cillian The Iron Magus I dunno, guys. Aside from it being like gift credits, as was already mentioned, it's also just kinda like an extension the monthly collectibles. Only now, it's like you can "donate" for shop items, too.
Before, you could have just donated for MCs, and sold them and gotten shop items. What's wrong with removing the middle man?
We still can't buy gold directly, so I don't see what the big deal is.
The future features that may require monies is SOMEWHAT worriesome...
After all, we already have MCs, and that's not bad, right?
But then I had a flashback to the time I made an account on Habbo Hotel, and played it for maybe ten minutes before figuring out that you needed real world money for doing everything from buying furniture to playing a minigame to jumping off a diving board. >.<
That is a future I do not look forwards to... Says the Robo-Shark... XD But I agree... It could get bad, definitely. But I've decided I'm not gonna worry about it. The plot is on my mind too much. *bzzt* *punches puny mammal for no good reason*

I'm not worried about gaia becoming a massively money hungry comercial market.
They know that they have a reputation to uphold. They've won all these... one of the best internet site awards and such, they have so many members. If gaia starts requiring money (or damn near that) they will loose SOOOO many members and that will be heavily reflected, everyone will know, and gaia will look aweful. In short, they would have killed themselves and corrected the mistake by returning things to the way it was. If they haven't already considered what I said and never planned to do it in the first place.

I highly doubt Gaia will make everything cost real money in ANY future. THe people who run the site are a lot like us. Just a bunch of nerds who love anime and gaming. I think they understand us users better than most people think. I'm sure they know how badly something like that would go over and unless they are all replaced with monkeys (which would be a good sign to leave anyway), I really don't think anything like it will happen.
