Leavaros I tell everyone I know that if I ever get to name a baby girl--not my own, I don't really like children, myself--I would name her Laurana, like the elf princess/queen/royal mother in Dragonlance. (Gods, she was whiny at first, but I loved her.) Love and Vale, -LD EDIT: If I ever got another female cat, I would probably name her Laurana, especially if she had green eyes. Not going to use her full name? I guess Lauralanthalasa is a bit long. Imagine calling that down the street? biggrin My favourite character from the series was actually Tanis. And, of course, Tas. One day I'm going to make a kender character for a DnD campaign (oh, the trouble he'll get into!) xd

I had a 1 hour disscussion with a 13 year old about our predictions for the last Harry Potter book, including an in depth anaylization of the Prophesy.
My freshman history class also spent a period disscussing the seventh book and arguing about wheather Harry would die or not. (my teacher was wrong)

Oh wow...I actually took my book out to lunch and read it for the whole 45 minutes. And I NEVER do that.
Oh yeah and I was talking about a book with a whole bunch of other people...and others were staring at us. (Dammit, why does Twilight have to be a good book).

I am usually pretty good about controlling my geekiness before it gets. . . well. . .freaky. Anyway the weirdest thing I have done probably it talk (rather loudly) at characters to do something. . . and did I mention that I usually end up doing this public places where I will get very worried and frightened looks from the people around me. sweatdrop

This happened wuite recently actually. I was re-reading the Artemis Fowl series and decided to use the first book to use the passage to decipher what each of the symbols in the Gnommish alphabet stand for. Now I can read Gnommish.

I don't know if its geeky, but I always (uninentionally) pick up on the author's tonality while I'm reading a book. After reading A Clockwork Orange, I went around thinking in terms of groodies and malchicks. And my dad still makes fun of me for saying "ain't" after I read some western book.
oh, and I won fifty dollars from betting on the outcome of the seventh harry potter book. With an adult over twice my age. Except the deal was he'd give me fifty dollars if i was right, if he was right i'd babysit his three kids for free one night. naturally, I won, but he repaid me by getting me the british edition of the seventh book instead. Which is WAY cooler than fifty dollars, imo.

apart from obvious obsessing and re-reading of my favourites, I hang out in the town library or even my university library and simply lurk amongst the shelves (not looking for anything particular) and make up scenarios about the books from the covers in my mind
I also keep in regular email contact with Ian Irvine because I am such a fan, and get giddy every time he replies (have all the emails backed up and saved too)
wow...I think that sounds kind of strange even to my ears

I havent done many geeky things with a book or series, but in this one book called "Garden Of The Purple Dragon", it says that "Everything happens for a reason." Ever since then I have belived that quote, in my opinion it's so true.
Also in "Sahara Special" Sahara wrote letters to herself expressing her feelings and emotions. I got inspired to do that because at that time I was undergoing depression so I thought it would help me be more open. It made me worse, but many months later I finally threw the letters in the air and ripped them up while dancing to "So I Thought" and "All Around Me" by Flyleaf. It was fun XD

[color=#ff0808]I try to explain my 15 volume Antia Blake series to my family..... sweatdrop ...... It's very very confusing with to explain when the main charcter has seven different lifes going on and I think nine or eleven guys juggleing, then her four jobs too. I love it and can't wait for book sixteen to come out and I colect the comice series too. heart heart heart I read my books anywhere and everywhere. It's wierd to others when I bust out laughing at work, home, car, or in a store/restruant and every one looks at me funny.........while my family and close friends don't b/c they're used to it sweatdrop I guess I'm simi-normal here b/c we all have are own little things we do.

The geekiest thing I've done with books...
I've organized my entire bookshelf. First by genre, then alphabetically. Oh, and I decided to major in creative writing. HAHA jokes on my paycheck... ;-;

I tried to memorize the elvish tongue from the glossary in the back of the Eragon and Eldest books. I also read Eragon 25 times in a row without reading any other books but I was a little disappointed with Eldest.
btw, when does the next book come out, anyone know?
