p a r f a i t at this point, I'm wondering if the theme of the contest is even clear.. Other than all entries must be lolita, not yet. We're still awaiting more feedback and ideas from other members, but most of the members don't seem to want to give us feedback or even read the announcements.

p a r f a i t at this point, I'm wondering if the theme of the contest is even clear.. yes, I say make a solid decision, talk to the mods and when the time comes make the contest have its own thread that will be deleted when contest is over. (the mods can do this) after such though, there should be a sticky with the previous winners. a sort of photogallery. that will ensure beauty with out deliberation and eternal bragging rights.

EGL Goddess boconnotto Color themes might offer a bit more variety to the guild members, all things considered. Most of our members are pretty set in sweet lolita from what I've seen, so it might make it a bit more accessible to have themes for each month set on colors.
Perhaps you could base the colors off of birthstones? Seasonal/Monthly themes are awesome as well, but a bit harder for people to have easy access to clothing that would suit.
I like birthstones January- Garnet- dark red February- Amethyst- purple March- Aquamarine- light blue April- Diamond- white May- Emerald- dark green June- Pearl/Moonstone- creme/antique white July- Ruby- red August- Peridot- green September- Sapphire- dark blue October- Opal/Tourmaline- pink (really it's multicolored but still has pink) November- Topaz/citrine- gold/yellow December- Onyx- black (supposed to be turquoise but for the sake of color we'll use the tibetan birthstone) What do you think? I like this one the best. Once I finish sewing my outfit then maybe I'll enter one

We also need theme ideas.

Yeah. We are trying to really organize some events for the meantime to liven this place up! We need to see some dedication towards these ideas, then we will kick start things off. We can't do much if people say 'I might do it' or the fact that this thread hasn't had many replies from different people, mainly the regulars (which is awesome don't get me wrong, just it would be re-assuring to see some un-familiar faces, right?) If anyone has an idea please don't be scared to post it, we are open to anything at the moment.

It would be nice to do flowers or plants relating to seasons of the months.

For me, at least, it wouldn't be easy to get flowers. Unless they happened to be roses. Every single month. @ o @;;;;;;;

The color/birthstone theme and the style themes seem to be the most accessible of the ideas so far.
Flowers would be cool for a larger group, perhaps, but they would be a bit of a problem I think for us--unless fake flowers were allowed. Lots of hobby shops have pretty expansive silk flower collections, but not all florists carry certain varieties of flowers without being asked for them ahead of time.
Also, that's a bit pricey in terms of extra cost. Flowers aren't really cheap unless you're buying carnations. It'd be nice to try and make the contest easy to participate in without buying extra materials every month. Maybe one of the spring or summer themes could revolve around flowers, though?

I think this is awesome!
I'd totally submit pictures for this!
But my photographer would want some sort of credit...
How would we do that?
