If Gaara made it to perfect form, Shino is out. But he could seal himself off from the bugs. I doubt the could get through his sand

Gaara would win because his sand is sentinent and would be able to crush shino's bugs.

depens , if Gaara could kill him with "sand graveyard" in the beginning then he'de win but if he releases the bugs first and gave em time, Gaara would loose... crying crying

Actually, Gaara was about to get killed by Kimimaru. If whatever illness he had didn't kill him at that time, Gaara would be dead.

And anyway, I think it depends on the time the fight would take place.

Obviously, it has to be before he and Naruto fight, because at that time, Sunagakure was betraying Konohagakure. Therefore leaf and sand would be against eachother. Or maybe they could've been chosen to fight against each other in the chuunin exams. Whatever.

So being at that time, I think Gaara would win. He didn't really listen to anyone so any theories on Shino making Gaara lose his mind would fail. And Gaara's will to kill, his unshaken decision to take lives, his love for death of others, his mercilessness(sp) and the fact that he doesn't think twice about otheres will no doubtly be of his advantage.

Unlike Shino, who is a Konoha-nin, will surely be taken aback by such psychoness behavior. We all know the shinobis of Konoha are goody-2-shoes. Sure, I believe that, if given the proper time or opportunity, Shino would find a way to put up a good fight, but at the time where Gaara is still the merciless killer we all love, he would kill him in a second.
